Abstract
Description
Field of the Disclosure
[0001] The present invention generally relates to a field of prefabricated building modules, and more particularly, to the foldable and portable prefabricated building modules or panels. Background of the Disclosure
[0002] The subject matter discussed in this background section should not be assumed to be prior art merely as a result of its mention herein. Similarly, any problems mentioned in this background section or associated with the subject matter of this background section should not be assumed to have been previously recognized in the prior art. The subject matter as disclosed in this background section merely represents different approaches related to installation of portable and modular housing panels, wherein such assemblies themselves may also correspond to implementations of the claimed technology and invention.
[0003] Existing prefabricated foldable structures serve as valuable accommodations for both permanent occupation and temporary workforces engaged in mining, farming, construction, and re-construction activities in remote regions. These foldable buildings are designed to optimize transport efficiency, storage, erection, re-transport, and reusability. They unfold in various ways upon reaching the destination site. While some rely on mechanical opening mechanisms like wheel and track systems, others necessitate the use of a crane to position the components. In many instances, the roof element must be temporarily supported while securing the other elements in place.
[0004] The demand for prefabricated structures that can be easily and rapidly deployed is on the rise due to several factors. One key factor is the increasing frequency of natural disasters, which has created a higher demand for emergency housing and shelters, as well as medical and service facilities for victims.
[0005] Housing and other building provision face affordability challenges in regional and remote areas, where skilled trades are scarce, and the cost is inflated by expensive goods delivery charges. To mitigate this issue, the concept of manufacturing buildings or building elements in a factory to a substantially complete form, ready for connection to services and use at a specific site, has been explored. However, practical, feasible, or economical transportation of these large-sized buildings or elements often poses difficulties.
[0006] Therefore, there is a need for an improved and cost-effective modular and portable housing system that can be easily installed without the need for technical assistance. Summary of the Disclosure
[0007] According to embodiments illustrated herein, a novel, simple, and easy-to-use prefabricated portable housing module is disclosed. The module comprises a central cuboid member having a central roof portion, a central floor portion and at least two opposing fixed walls extending in either direction from the central roof portion and the central floor portion. Further, one or more roof panels are pivotably attached to the at least two opposing fixed walls. The one or more roof panels extend along a first pivoting axis from the central floor portion to the central roof portion. [0013] In some embodiments, a plurality of supports are positioned underneath each of the one or more floor panels.
[0014] In some embodiments, a plurality of pinch plates is coupled to the one or more roof panels and the central roof portion using screws.
[0015] In some example embodiments, T-tapes, D-Tapes and Flat Tapes are used to cover joints formed from inside and outside of the prefabricated portable housing module.
[0016] In some other example embodiments, the T-Tape is assembled onto edges formed by the one or more floor panels, the one or more side panels and the end panels.
[0017] In some embodiments, a plurality of windows is integrated on the one or more side panels and the end panels.
[0018] According to other embodiments, a method of installing a prefabricated portable housing module is disclosed. The method comprises steps of: providing a central cuboid member having a central roof portion, a central floor portion and at least two opposing fixed walls extending in either direction from the central roof portion and the central floor portion; attaching one or more roof panels pivotably to the at least two opposing fixed walls. The one or more roof panels extend along a first pivoting axis from the central floor portion to the central roof portion.
