Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to fruit carving, which involves carving pictures or letters onto fruit or vegetables. [Background technology]
[0002] Carving is a form of sculpture. Thai carving is one of the traditional cultures of Thailand that has been passed down for over 700 years, and it is said to have started with decorative carvings of vegetables and fruits to decorate the king's dining table. Fruit carving is especially known as a decoration for Thai food. It has attracted attention from all over the world, so much so that it is now called "Thai carving," due to its unique technique of carving with a single specialized knife and its delicate artistry, which uses floral motifs. In Japan, it has also become increasingly recognized as a hobby in recent years. Depending on the material being carved, there are various types of carving, such as fruit carving, vegetable carving, and soap carving. However, in fruit carving, for example when a design is attached to the surface of an apple and then carved, the design can get into the flesh of the apple, which has been seen as a problem as the finished carved fruit does not look very good. The present invention provides a fruit carving or method for fruit carving that produces a beautiful finished product. Another object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing attractive fruit candy or fruit lollipops, and to provide attractive fruit candy or fruit lollipops. Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0003] The purpose of fruit carving is often interior decoration or gift giving. It is well known to carve letters or portraits for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, etc.
[0004] Fruit carving is done by hand, using a knife to carve into the material, resulting in very fine and delicate carvings.
[0005] Since the sketch needs to be made each time and can be easily enlarged or reduced to fit the fruit being carved, I often print them out on regular copy paper.
[0006] Because cuts are made with a knife over the printed design, the moisture and pressure of the fruit can cause the design to cut and get caught between the fruit, or the moisture from the fruit can cause the print to bleed.
[0007] The inclusion of the sketch results in a less beautiful finish.
[0008] Therefore, the present invention is a carving method for engraving the surface of fruits and vegetables such as apples, which includes the steps of bringing a sketch, which has an adhesive sheet attached to the back side, into contact with the surface of the fruit or vegetable by attaching a transparent or translucent film over the sketch, penetrating the adhesive sheet along the sketch from above the film and cutting into the surface of the fruit or vegetable to form an outline, and removing the sketch with the film and adhesive sheet attached, characterized in that the carving is performed based on the outline engraved on the surface of the fruit or vegetable.
[0009] You can also have fun turning carved apples and other objects into candy apples after carving them, but candy does not mix well with water, so if you pour candy over the carved parts as is, the candy will melt and become sticky.
[0010] Therefore, the present invention is a method for producing candy fruit by using carved fruit and coating the carved fruit with candy, which includes a step of coating the entire surface of the carved fruit with candy, and a step of removing the candy coated on the carved portion. Effect of the Invention
[0011] By preventing the outline from being inscribed when making cuts into fruit or vegetables such as apples with a carving knife, it becomes easier to create artworks for gifts and produces beautiful finished products. In other words, since the outline is attached to the adhesive sheet, it is difficult for it to be inscribed into the surface of the fruit or vegetable.
[0012] When turning carved apples into candy apples, the candy can be removed, allowing you to enjoy them in two ways: as a display piece and as food.
[0013] The candy, with its carved surface and coated, becomes a beautiful fruit candy. Also, the carved parts of the fruit stand out more than the coated parts, making it more varied. [Brief description of the drawings]

[0015] A method for transferring a sketch when engraving pictures or letters onto fruit or vegetables, a method for coating the surface of a carved apple or the like with candy, and a fruit candy with a carved surface will be described with reference to Figs. 1 to 9, to help understand the present invention. In addition to apples, other fruits can be used, such as watermelon, melon, pear, and papaya, and it is also effective for carving vegetables such as zucchini, winter melon, and pumpkin.
[0016] As shown in Figure 1, there is an apple 2 that has been thoroughly wiped in preparation for engraving, and a sheet of copy paper 3 on which a sketch 1 is printed.
[0017] Next, to prevent the design 1 from penetrating into the flesh of the apple 2 when it is cut, a waterproof adhesive tape 4 larger than the design 1 is prepared (Figure 2). The adhesive side is attached to the back of the display paper 3 showing the design, and the edges of the design 1 are cut (see the dashed square line in Figure 3), forming a design paper 5 with the design 1 revealed, the waterproof adhesive tape 4 attached to the back, and the edges cut away.
[0018] As shown in FIG. 4, the top side of the sketch paper 5 is covered with a transparent or semi-transparent adhesive wrap 6.
[0019] As shown in FIG. 5, the sketch paper 5 is placed and positioned on the surface of the apple 2, and the surface of the apple is covered with a transparent or semi-transparent adhesive wrap 6 so that the sketch paper 5 is tightly attached to the surface of the apple.
[0020] Next, as shown in FIG. 6, a carving knife 7 is used to make incisions on the surface of the apple 2 along the outline 1 over a transparent or semi-transparent adhesive wrap 6 so as to penetrate the adhesive sheet 4.
[0021] After making incisions on the surface of the apple 2 with a carving knife 7, the film 6 and the sketch paper 5 with the adhesive sheet 4 attached thereto are all removed.
[0022] As shown in FIG. 8, the surface of apple 2 is carved using a carving knife 7 based on the cuts (see reference numeral 15 in FIG. 7) to form a carved apple 8 (see FIG. 9).
[0023] Hereinafter, an embodiment of a method for making candy apples by coating the apples with candy, utilizing the moisture released from the fruit by carving the skin of an apple 2, will be described with reference to Figs. 10 to 15, for the purpose of understanding the present invention.
[0024] The carving method using a sketch, which is characterized by carving, is the same as that shown in Figures 1 to 9 above.
[0025] As shown in Figure 10, to turn a carved apple 8 into a candy apple, a skewer 9 is inserted into the center of the apple 8. The skewer is inserted as deep as possible without completely penetrating the apple 8 so that it can support the weight of the apple 8 and prevent moisture from escaping. Other ingredients prepared include granulated sugar, water, a cooking sheet 13, a thermometer 11, and a pot 10. As an example, the amounts of sugar and water are 180 grams of granulated sugar and 130 cc of water.
[0026] As shown in Figure 11, put the amount of granulated sugar and water needed for the candy in a pot 10, put it on the fire, and heat it until it becomes candy-like. Do not stir while heating to prevent air from getting in. When it reaches a temperature of about 150 degrees, it becomes candy 12. While checking the thermometer 11, evaporate the water. Be careful not to overheat, as it will turn brown, and make the candy as transparent as possible.
[0027] As shown in Figure 12, hold the skewer 9 so that the heated candy 12 covers the entire surface of the carved apple 8, and rotate the carved apple 8 once in the candy 12 in the pot 10 to coat it in the candy 12. Place it on a cooking sheet 13.
[0028] Leave it as is in the refrigerator or somewhere similar to cool. Chill for approximately 1-2 hours to allow the candy 12 in the flesh of the carved part of apple 8 to melt naturally. The moisture from the apple flesh mixed with the melted candy will drip around the candy apple, making the bottom part sticky. If left alone, the candy in the parts that come into contact with the moisture will melt further and become sticky, so wipe off the moisture that has melted from the candy. This will leave the candy removed from the carved part of apple 8, leaving only the skin.
[0029] Using a toothpick 14 or similar, add moisture between the skin of the carved part of the apple 8 and the candy 12, and peel the candy 12 from the skin.
[0030] This results in a candy apple with the candy 12 removed from only the carved portion. The carved fruit portion stands out in comparison with the coated portion, and can be eaten as a candy apple.
[0031] Apples and other fruits are used as gifts, and by adding portraits or letters to them, they become gifts that are both decorative and edible. Fruit carvings alone are rare, but by covering them with candy, they become even more edible. [Explanation of symbols]
