Abstract

To provide an exterior wall and a building capable of adjusting the balance between the heat-insulating property of the exterior wall and the ventilation performance in the exterior wall.SOLUTION: An exterior wall 100 is provided with an exterior material 1 disposed on the outer side of a building 200, an interior material 2 disposed on more inside of the building 200 than the exterior material 1 along the exterior material 1, a ventilation layer 3 formed between the exterior material 1 and the interior material 2, an air inlet 5 through which an external space and the ventilation layer 3 communicate with each other, and an air outlet 6 through which the external space and the ventilation layer 3 communicate with each other. The air outlet 6 is disposed above the air inlet 5 in the vertical direction, and at least one of the air inlet 5 and the air outlet 6 has an opening adjustment valve 7 that adjusts the opening degree of a valve that allows the external space and the ventilation layer 3 to communicate with each other according to the temperature of the ventilation layer 3, the degree of opening of the opening control valve 7 increases as the temperature of the ventilation layer 3 increases, and decreases as the temperature of the ventilation layer 3 decreases.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
