[Figure 6] 1A to 1C are diagrams illustrating an example of use of an optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention. [Figure 7] 1 is a schematic diagram showing an optical fiber fusion splicing operation on a stepladder X using an optical fiber fusion splicing operation case 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention. FIG. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0022] Hereinafter, the present invention will be described with reference to the embodiments and drawings. Fig. 1 is a schematic exploded perspective view of an optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention. Note that the perspective view of the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 shown in Fig. 1 has some parts omitted to avoid complication.

[0023] The optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 according to the present invention allows the equipment, tools, and chemicals required for the fusion splicing work of optical fibers to be carried all together, and provides a space for the fusion splicing work of optical fibers by opening the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1. In particular, the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 according to the present invention can be attached to the top plate Y side of a stepladder X to improve the efficiency of the fusion splicing work of optical fibers at high places.

[0024] The optical fiber fusion splicing case 1 generally comprises an aluminum case body 100 which serves as a framework, and an aluminum lid 150 which is integrated with the case body 100 via a hinge 140, all of which are housed in a bag member 200 made of cloth or the like. A bottom cushion member 190 is disposed between the bottom plate 110 of the case body 100 and the bag member 200.

[0025] The bag member 200 is composed of a first bag portion 210 and a second bag portion 220 connected thereto. The first bag portion 210 is intended to mainly store the case body 100, and the second bag portion 220 is intended to mainly store the lid body 150.

[0026] The first bag portion 210 and the second bag portion 220 are provided with a fastener chain 230. By sliding a slider 235 attached to the fastener chain 230, the first bag portion 210 and the second bag portion 220 can be opened and closed.

[0027] In the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 of the present invention, the upper side (inside of the case) of the bottom plate 110 of the case body 100 is used as a work space in which equipment and tools such as the fusion splicer 10, stripper 13, and cutter 15, as well as chemicals such as ethanol, are placed when performing optical fiber fusion splicing work.

[0028] Meanwhile, the lower surface side (outside of the case) of the bottom plate 110 of the case body 100 is the side that is attached to the top plate Y of the stepladder X. A bottom surface cushion member 190 is disposed on the lower surface side of the bottom plate 110, and the bottom surface cushion member 190 absorbs the uneven shape of the top plate Y, thereby increasing the stability of the optical fiber fusion splicing case 1 and improving the workability on the upper surface side of the bottom plate 110.

[0029] Fig. 2 is a diagram showing the case body 100 of the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 according to the embodiment of the present invention. Fig. 2(A) is a plan view of the case body 100 as viewed from above, and Fig. 2(B) is a view of the case body 100 as viewed from the front. Note that directions such as top, bottom, front, rear, right, and left are based on the viewpoint of an operator who opens the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 and performs fusion splicing work of optical fibers (see Figs. 6 and 7).

[0030] The case body 100 has a bottom plate 110 that is rectangular in plan view, and side plates that are connected to the four sides of the bottom plate 110. These four side plates include a front side plate 130 that is connected to the bottom plate 110 on the front side, a rear side plate 131 that is connected to the bottom plate 110 on the rear side, a right side plate 132 that is connected to the bottom plate 110 on the right side, and a left side plate 133 that is connected to the bottom plate 110 on the left side.

[0031] The bottom plate 110 is provided with two equipment mounting holes 112 through which the mounting screw holes 12 are inserted, which are used when fixing the fusion splicer 10 to the bottom plate 110. In the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 according to the present invention, since a plurality of equipment mounting holes 112 are provided, it is possible to fix different types of fusion splicers 10 to the bottom plate 110, or to fix the fusion splicer 10 at a position on the bottom plate 110 that is convenient for an operator to work. The fusion splicer 10 is made detachable from the bottom plate 110 by using the mounting screw holes 12. The number of equipment mounting holes 112 drilled in the bottom plate 110 can be any number.

[0032] As described above, the bottom cushion member 190 has an opening 192 that generally corresponds to the positions of the two device mounting holes 112 drilled in the bottom plate 110. Also, the bag member 200 has an opening 212 that generally corresponds to the positions of the two device mounting holes 112. Corresponding to this opening 212, a flap 214 that closes and opens the opening 212 is provided.

[0033] The flap 214 is a rectangular member made of the same material as the bag member 200, and one side is sewn to the bag member 200. A hook-and-loop fastener 215 is provided on one side of the flap 214 opposite the one side sewn to the bag member 200. A hook-and-loop fastener 215 is also provided on a position of the bag member 200 that corresponds to the hook-and-loop fastener 215 of the flap 214 when the flap 214 closes the opening 212. The opening 212 is blocked or closed by attaching and detaching the hook-and-loop fastener 215 on the flap 214 side and the hook-and-loop fastener 215 on the bag member 200 side.

[0034] When the stored equipment, tools, and chemicals are being transported in the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 according to the present invention, or when the optical fibers are being fusion spliced, the opening 212 is kept closed by the flap 214.

[0035] Usually, the fusion splicer 10 is provided with mounting screw holes 12, and the fusion splicer 10 can be attached to and detached from an object by utilizing the mounting screw holes 12. In the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 according to the present invention, the fusion splicer 10 can be attached to and detached from the bottom plate 110 of the case body 100.

[0036] The procedure for attaching and detaching the fusion splicer 10 to and from the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 according to the present invention will be described below. First, the hook-and-loop fasteners 215 of the flap 214 and the bag member 200 are peeled off to open the opening 212 of the bag member 200. In the case of attaching the fusion splicer 10 to the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 as an example, the mounting screw hole 12 of the fusion splicer 10, any one of the equipment mounting holes 112 of the bottom plate 110, and the mounting screw 20 are arranged on the dashed line in Fig. 1, and the mounting screw 20 is screwed into the mounting screw hole 12 to fix the fusion splicer 10 to the bottom plate 110 of the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1.

[0037] Conversely, when removing the fusion splicer 10 from the bottom plate 110 of the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1, the flap 214 is opened to open the opening 212, and the mounting screw 20 that is screwed into the mounting screw hole 12 of the fusion splicer 10 is turned to loosen the screwing, thereby releasing the constraint of the fusion splicer 10 by the mounting screw 20.

[0038] Incidentally, a bottom cushion member 190 is disposed between the bottom plate 110 and the bag member 200, and here, a description will be given of suitable conditions for the thickness of the bottom cushion member 190. Fig. 4 is an image diagram of a layout in the vicinity of the mounting screw hole 12 of the fusion splicer 10.

[0039] The mounting screw 20 has a head 22 that is manually rotated, and a threaded shaft-like screw portion 25 that extends from the head 22. Usually, the mounting screw 20 of the fusion splicer 10 is of the same standard (1 / 4 inch size) as a tripod screw used to secure a camera or the like to a tripod. In the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 according to the present invention, the mounting screw 20 is also assumed to be of the same standard as the tripod screw described above.

[0040] As shown in Fig. 4, a space equivalent to the thickness of the head 22 of the mounting screw 20 is required between the bottom plate 110 of the case body 100 and the flap 214. This space is ensured by the thickness of the bottom cushion member 190. A foamed resin material such as polyethylene foam can be suitably used as the material for the bottom cushion member 190. In this embodiment, polyethylene foam-made Salperca (registered trademark) L1400 by Sanwa Kako Co., Ltd. is used as the foamed resin material.

[0041] Here, assuming that the thickness of bottom cushion member 190 is t, a description will be given of a suitable thickness t for ensuring space for head 22 of mounting screw 20 between bottom plate 110 and flap 214 as described above. In optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 according to the present invention, depending on the material of bottom cushion member 190, considering that mounting screws 20 of the same standard as the tripod screws are used, thickness t of bottom cushion member 190 is preferably 10 mm or more and 20 mm or less, and more preferably 13 mm or more and 17 mm or less.

[0042] As described above, in the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 of the present invention, any of the equipment mounting holes 112 in the bottom plate 110 can be exposed by opening and closing the flap 214 of the bag member 200, making it possible to easily attach and detach the fusion splicer 10 to the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1.

[0043] The bottom plate 110 has two long holes 115 at each of the four corners in a plan view. A belt-like member (not shown) extending from the bag member 200 is inserted into these long holes 115, and the case main body 100 and the first bag portion 210 of the bag member 200 are integrated by appropriately fastening the belt-like member.

[0044] The bottom cushion member 190 disposed between the bottom plate 110 and the bag member 200 has cutouts 194 at the four corners when viewed from above. These cutouts 194 are provided so that a belt-like member (not shown) is not obstructed by the bottom cushion member 190.

[0045] Bottom rubber plates 118 are attached to the left and right of the equipment mounting hole 112 in the bottom plate 110 of the case body 100. In the fusion splicing work of optical fibers, auxiliary equipment and tools such as a stripper 13 and a cutter 15 are used in addition to the fusion splicer 10 that performs the function of fusion splicing. In order to stably place the stripper 13 and the cutter 15 on both sides of the fusion splicer 10 on the bottom plate 110, in the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 according to the present invention, two elastic members such as the bottom rubber plates 118 are provided on the bottom plate 110.

[0046] Additionally, the three side plates (front side plate 130, right side plate 132, and left side plate 133) of case body 100 are provided with carabiner attachment holes 134. In this embodiment, two carabiner attachment holes 134 are provided in front side plate 130, and three carabiner attachment holes 134 are provided in each of side plate 132 and left side plate 133, but the number of holes provided in the side plates is arbitrary.

[0047] The carabiner attachment hole 134 is used, for example, to completely prevent the auxiliary devices and tools (not shown) from falling off. For this purpose, a cord is used, one end of which is connected to the auxiliary devices and tools (not shown) and the other end of which is connected to a carabiner (not shown). By attaching the carabiner of such a cord to the carabiner attachment hole 134, it is possible to prevent the auxiliary devices and tools (not shown) from completely falling off the bottom plate 110.

[0048] A front rubber plate 138 is provided to cover the upper end of the front side plate 130 of the case body 100. Such a front rubber plate 138 supports the weight of the worker's hands, so that the worker's hands do not get caught in the upper end of the front side plate 130, and the fusion splicing work of the optical fibers can be performed comfortably.

[0049] Of the side panels, a rear side panel cushion member 135 is attached to the rear side panel 131 (see FIG. 2). When optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 according to the present invention is stored with equipment, tools, and chemicals and is carried, the rear side panel 131 of optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 becomes the bottom. Therefore, by providing optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 with rear side panel cushion member 135 as described above, damage to the equipment, tools, and chemicals caused by vibration, impact, and the like during transportation is reduced.

[0050] Two hinges 140 are provided between the rear side plate 131 of the case body 100 and the lid body 150, allowing the lid body 150 to open and close with respect to the case body 100. Furthermore, a torque hinge 145 is attached between the rear side plate 131 of the case body 100 and the lid body 150. Such torque hinge 145 stabilizes the lid body 150 at a desired angle with respect to the case body 100.

[0051] In this embodiment, the cover 150 connected to the case body 100 via the hinge 140 and the torque hinge 145 as described above is a frame-shaped aluminum member having an opening 152. In the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 according to the present invention, a frame-shaped member is used as the cover 150, so that the overall weight of the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 can be reduced.

[0052] Next, a description will be given of the bag member 200 that houses the framework consisting of the above-mentioned case body 100 and lid body 150. The bag member 200 consists of a first bag portion 210 that mainly houses the case body 100, and a second bag portion 220 that mainly houses the lid body 150. As described above, the first bag portion 210 is provided with a flap 214 that covers the opening 212.

[0053] On the inside of the second bag portion 220 of the bag member 200, larger pockets 224 are provided on the left and right sides as viewed from the viewpoint of an operator who performs work using the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 according to the present invention, and mesh material pockets 226 are provided below each pocket 224. These pockets are disposed so as to be positioned exactly corresponding to the opening 152 of the lid body 150 when the bag member 200 contains the case body 100 and the lid body 150.

[0054] The pocket 224 and mesh pocket 226 described above can be used to store equipment, tools, and medicines. These pockets can also store drawings and documents of the work site, allowing workers to refer to the documents as needed to improve work efficiency.

[0055] Fig. 5 is a diagram showing the exterior of the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 according to the embodiment of the present invention (same as the exterior of the bag member 200). Each surface of the exterior of the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 according to the present invention is defined based on the case where the cover 150 of the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 according to the present invention is closed and the bottom plate 110 is set as the lower surface. Fig. 5(A) is a diagram seen from the top surface 203 of the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1, Fig. 5(B) is a diagram seen from the bottom surface 205 of the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1, and Fig. 5(C) is a diagram seen from the side surface 206 of the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 from the front side plate 130.

[0056] 5(A) and 5(B), a bottom foot 209 is provided on the side of the side portion 206 of the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 on the side of the rear side plate 131. A handle 208 is provided on the side portion 206 on the side of the front side plate 130 facing the rear side plate 131. D-ring fittings 260 are attached to each of the side portions 206 corresponding to the right side plate 132 and the left side plate 133. By passing a shoulder strap (not shown) over the two D-ring fittings 260 on both side portions 206, the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 can be carried over the shoulder.

[0057] As shown in FIG. 5(C), a zipper chain 230 is provided between the first bag portion 210 and the second bag portion 220 on the side portion 206, and the first bag portion 210 and the second bag portion 220 can be opened or closed by sliding a slider 235 attached to the zipper chain 230.

[0058] As shown in Fig. 5(B), the optical fiber fusion splicing case 1 according to the present invention has a female buckle 245 and a male buckle 255 that fit together on the bottom surface portion 205 side (the bottom plate 110 side of the case body 100) of the bag member 200. The bag member 200 has two female buckle belts 240 each provided with a female buckle 245, which are sewn to the side surface portion 206 on the front side plate 130 side of the bag member 200. Correspondingly, the bag member 200 has two male buckle belts 250 each provided with a male buckle 255, which are sewn to the side surface portion 206 on the rear side plate 131 side of the bag member 200.

[0059] In the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 according to the present invention, it is assumed that the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 is attached to the top board Y of the stepladder X by the female buckle belt 240 and the male buckle belt 250 as described above.

[0060] Fig. 6 is a diagram showing an example of use of the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 according to the embodiment of the present invention, and Fig. 7 is a schematic diagram showing the state of fusion splicing work of optical fibers on a stepladder X using the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 according to the embodiment of the present invention.

[0061] To use the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 of the present invention, the bottom portion 205 of the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 is placed on the top plate Y, and the two female buckle belts 240 and the male buckle belt 250 are made to embrace the top plate Y, and the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 is attached to the top plate Y by engaging the female buckle 245 and the male buckle 255.

[0062] The female buckle 245 is provided with a well-known structure for adjusting the length of the female buckle belt 240 that is unwound from the female buckle 245. With such a structure, the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 can be stably fixed to the top plate Y.

[0063] In addition, anti-slip rubber (not shown) is provided on the bag member 200 side (the side not visible in FIG. 5(B)) of the female buckle belt 240 and on the bag member 200 side (the side not visible in FIG. 5(B)) of the male buckle belt 250. Since such anti-slip rubber is provided on each belt, each belt can be attached so as to be in close contact with the aluminum top plate Y, and the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 is stable on the top plate Y.

[0064] The optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 according to the present invention is provided with two female buckle belts 240 and a male buckle belt 250, but these belts are provided for the purpose of attaching it to the top plate Y of the stepladder X and are different from the belts provided in the cases according to the prior art.

[0065] As described above, the optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 according to the present invention can be attached to the top plate Y of the stepladder X by attaching and detaching the female buckle 245 and the male buckle 255 outside the bag member 200 close to the bottom plate 110. Then, with such an optical fiber fusion splicing work case 1 according to the present invention, a worker can stand on the stepladder X and efficiently perform fusion splicing work of optical fibers.
