Method of sonic activation of granulated blast furnace slag and a system for carrying out this method

Abstract

The subject of the application is a method for activating granulated blast furnace slag (GŻW), characterized in that it comprises the following steps: a) drying and sifting the slag through a sieve with a mesh size of not more than 0.250 mm, rejecting coarser fractions; b) preparing a reaction mixture (7) consisting of Portland cement, granulated blast furnace slag and water, wherein the Portland cement is present in an amount in the range of 37% - 54% by weight, the GŻW is present in an amount in the range of 13% - 26% by weight, and water is present in an amount in the range of 33% - 37% by weight of the reaction mixture (7); c) subjecting the reaction mixture (7) to the sonication process in a reactor (1) with a cooling jacket and an ultrasonic probe (2) immersed in the reaction mixture (7), with the proportion of total acoustic energy per unit volume of the reaction mixture in the range from 35 to 95 J / dm3.Another subject of the application is a system for sonic activation of granulated blast furnace slag (GŻW) by the method according to the invention, characterized in that it consists of a reactor (1) with a cooling jacket equipped with an ultrasonic probe (2) for immersion in the reaction mixture (7) and connected to a generator (3) and a temperature sensor for immersion in the reaction mixture (7) and connected to a thermostat (4).
