[0036] With the advancement of display and wireless communication technologies, the requirements for the communication performance of wireless communication devices are becoming increasingly stringent. Intelligent Reflecting Surfaces (IRS) are a key communication design currently receiving widespread attention and research investment. This is because they can change the direction and number of reflected beams incident from wireless signal sources by regulating the amplitude and phase of the electrical signals on multiple reflective units within the surface (i.e., by changing the electrical load of the reflective units). This can significantly improve the quality of wireless communications by maintaining a single reflected beam or splitting it into multiple beams to direct them toward one or more communication targets. IRSs can be installed on either the interior or exterior walls of buildings.
[0037] An IRS typically consists of a three-layer structure. The top layer consists of reflective elements, which are conductive structures used to reflect wireless signals. Below the reflective elements is a metal plate, such as copper, that blocks and reflects wireless signals. A control circuit board is located on the side of the metal plate facing away from the reflective elements. The control circuitry on this board is connected to the reflective elements and is used to control the signal amplitude and phase of each reflective element, thereby controlling the direction and number of reflected beams. These three layers are not visually transparent to the human eye, making the IRS also not visually transparent.
[0038] To improve the communication performance of the display panel, this application integrates an IRS into the display panel. However, as mentioned above, current IRSs are generally not visually transparent to the human eye, thus obscuring the background (e.g., a wall) on which they are deployed, which is detrimental to the design and consistency of the original background, thus limiting the scenarios and scope of IRS applications.
[0039] In order to solve the above problems, the present application is proposed. In order to better understand the present application, the reflective surface assembly, display panel and wireless communication device of the embodiments of the present application are described in detail below with reference to Figures 1 to 24.
[0040] Please refer to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 . FIG. 1 is a schematic structural diagram of a display panel 10 provided in an embodiment of the present application, and FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view taken at AA in FIG. 1 .
[0041] As shown in Figures 1 and 2, an embodiment of the first aspect of the present application provides a display panel 10, which includes a substrate 11 and a reflective surface assembly 12; the reflective surface assembly 12 is arranged on the substrate 11, and the reflective surface assembly 12 includes a functional layer 100 and a shielding layer 200. The functional layer 100 includes a reflective unit 110, which is used to reflect wireless signals. The shielding layer 200 is arranged on the side of the functional layer 100 facing the substrate 11. The reflective unit 110 is connected to a connecting line 300 so that the reflective unit 110 can be connected to a control circuit 610 via the connecting line 300, and the control circuit 610 is used to change the electrical load of the reflective unit 110; wherein, the functional layer 100 and the shielding layer 200 are both transparent layer structures.
[0042] Optionally, the combined light transmittance of the functional layer 100 and the shielding layer 200 is greater than 50%. Optionally, the light transmittance of the emitting layer is greater than 60%, 70%, 80%, or even 90%. Optionally, the light transmittance of the shielding layer 200 is greater than 60%, 70%, 80%, or even 90%.
[0043] In an embodiment of the present application, the display panel 10 includes a substrate 11 and a reflective surface assembly 12 disposed on the substrate 11. The reflective surface assembly 12 includes a functional layer 100, a shielding layer 200, and a control circuit 610. The functional layer 100 includes a reflective unit 110, which is capable of reflecting wireless signals. For example, the reflective unit 110 can reflect wireless signals toward a communication target, thereby improving the wireless communication quality of the display panel 10. The shielding layer 200 is disposed on the side of the functional layer 100 facing away from the display surface of the display panel 10. On the one hand, the shielding layer 200 can block wireless signals, causing them to reflect off the functional layer 100. On the other hand, it can also reduce the risk of wireless signals entering the interior of the display panel 10 and affecting the normal operation of other components of the display panel 10. The control circuit 610 is connected to the reflective unit 110 via a connecting line 300 to adjust the electrical load of the reflective unit 110. Both the functional layer 100 and the shielding layer 200 are transparent structural layers, which can reduce the impact of the reflective surface assembly 12 on the display quality of the display panel 10. Therefore, the embodiment of the present application can effectively improve the wireless communication performance of the display panel 10 by disposing a reflective surface assembly 12 with high light transmittance in the display panel 10 .
[0044] Optionally, the shielding layer 200 serves as a metal plate of the IRS to shield and reflect wireless signals.
[0045] The display panel 10 may be an organic light emitting diode display panel, a liquid crystal display panel, or a micro light emitting diode display panel.
[0046] Optionally, the functional layer 100 can be disposed within a mesh-like metal wiring layer. FIG. 1 illustrates the structure of the mesh-like metal wiring with gray lines, and black lines illustrate the reflective units 110 and connecting lines 300. Optionally, the mesh-like metal wiring reused as the reflective units 110 and connecting lines 300 is insulated from metal lines at other locations to prevent short circuits between adjacent reflective units 110. Optionally, FIG. 1 illustrates a control circuit 610, with connecting lines 300 connected between the control circuit 610 and the reflective units 110. In other embodiments, the display panel 10 may not include the control circuit 610. For example, when the display panel 10 is used in a wireless communication device, the wireless communication device includes the control circuit 610.
[0047] Optionally, the functional layer 100 includes a plurality of reflective units 110 distributed in an array to improve the reflection capability of the functional layer 100 for wireless signals.
[0048] Optionally, each reflective unit 110 is connected to at least one control circuit 610 , and different reflective units 110 are connected to different control circuits 610 , so that each reflective unit 110 is controlled separately by the control circuit 610 .
[0049] Optionally, the orthographic projections of the two or more reflective units 110 on the substrate 11 are located within the orthographic projection of the shielding layer 200 on the substrate 11 .
[0050] Optionally, please refer to FIG. 1 and FIG. 3 . FIG. 3 differs from FIG. 1 in that the connection position of the connecting wire 300 and the reflective unit 110 is different. There are various ways to set the connection position of the connecting wire 300 and the reflective unit 110. The end of the connecting wire 300 connected to the reflective unit 110 can be set on either side of the circumference of the reflective unit 110. The connecting wire 300 can be connected to the reflective unit 110 so that the reflective unit 110 can be connected to the control circuit 610 via the connecting wire 300.
[0051] There are many ways to set the number of functional layers 100. For example, as shown in Figures 1 to 3, there is one functional layer 100, and one functional layer 100 is provided with two or more reflective units 110 distributed in an array. Optionally, there is one shielding layer 200.
[0052] In other optional embodiments, as shown in Figures 1 to 4, Figure 4 is a partial enlarged view of a display panel 10. The number of functional layers 100 can be more than two. By providing more than two functional layers 100, the reflective capability can be further improved.
[0053] Optionally, at least two reflective units 110 located in different functional layers 100 have different orthographic projection areas on the substrate 11. Optionally, the top view in FIG4 shows two reflective units 110 nested within each other and located within two different functional layers 100. FIG4 illustrates only one set of at least partially overlapping reflective units 110; the number of at least partially overlapping reflective units 110 may be multiple.
[0054] In these optional embodiments, by providing more than two functional layers 100 and providing reflection units 110 of different sizes in different functional layers 100, the reflection surface assembly 12 can reflect wireless signals of different frequency bands, thereby enabling the display panel to reflect multi-band wireless signals, and further improving the wireless communication performance of the display panel 10.
[0055] Optionally, the orthographic projection areas of two or more reflection units 110 in the same functional layer 100 on the substrate 11 are the same, that is, the sizes of the two or more reflection units 110 in the same functional layer 100 are the same, so that the two or more reflection units 110 in the same functional layer 100 can reflect wireless signals of the same frequency band, thereby enhancing the reflection capability of wireless signals of the same frequency band.
[0056] In some optional embodiments, referring to FIG. 4 , when there are two or more functional layers 100, the two or more functional layers 100 include a first functional layer 101 and a second functional layer 102, i.e., one of the two or more functional layers 100 is the first functional layer 101 and the other is the second functional layer 102. The reflective unit 110 includes a first reflective unit 111 located in the first functional layer 101 and a second reflective unit 112 located in the second functional layer 102, wherein the first functional layer 101 is located on a side of the second functional layer 102 facing the display surface of the display panel 10, and the orthographic projection area of the first reflective unit 111 on the substrate 11 is smaller than the orthographic projection area of the second reflective unit 112 on the substrate 11.
[0057] In these optional embodiments, the first reflecting unit 111 is located on the side of the second reflecting unit 112 facing the display surface of the display panel 10, and the size of the first reflecting unit 111 is smaller than the size of the second reflecting unit 112. On the one hand, at least part of the second reflecting unit 112 is not blocked by the first reflecting unit 111, and the second reflecting unit 112 can also reflect wireless signals; on the other hand, the size of the first reflecting unit 111 is different from the size of the second reflecting unit 112, so it can reflect wireless signals of multiple frequency bands, so that the display screen 10 can have the ability to regulate the reflected signals for wireless signals of different frequency bands.
[0058] Optionally, the orthographic projections of the first reflective units 111 and the orthographic projections of the second reflective units 112 on the substrate 11 are arranged to at least partially overlap. This reduces the overall distribution area of the two or more reflective units 110 and the size of the reflective surface assembly 12. The orthographic projections of the first reflective units 111 and the orthographic projections of the second reflective units 112 on the substrate 11 are arranged to at least partially overlap, including: the first reflective units 111 and the second reflective units 112 are arranged in a one-to-one correspondence, and the orthographic projections of the first reflective units 111 and the orthographic projections of the second reflective units 112 on the substrate 11 are arranged to at least partially overlap. Alternatively, more than two first reflecting units 111 are provided corresponding to the same second reflecting unit 112, or the same first reflecting unit 111 is provided corresponding to more than two second reflecting units 112, as long as the orthographic projection of each first reflecting unit 111 on the substrate 11 can at least partially overlap with the orthographic projection of at least one second reflecting unit 112 on the substrate 11, and the orthographic projection of each second reflecting unit 112 on the substrate 11 can at least partially overlap with the orthographic projection of at least one first reflecting unit 111 on the substrate 11.
[0059] Optionally, as shown in FIG. 4 , at least a portion of the connecting lines 300 are disposed in an overlapping region of the first reflecting unit 111 and the second reflecting unit 112 and connected to the first reflecting unit 111 and the second reflecting unit 112 .
[0060] In these optional embodiments, at least a portion of the connecting line 300 is arranged in the overlapping area of the first reflecting unit 111 and the second reflecting unit 112, so that at least a portion of the connecting line 300 extends along the thickness direction of the display panel 10 and can simultaneously connect the first reflecting unit 111 and the second reflecting unit 112, which can simplify the structure of the connecting line 300.
[0061] Alternatively, as shown in Figure 4 , the first reflecting unit 111 and the second reflecting unit 112 may be provided in a one-to-one correspondence. Alternatively, as shown in Figure 5 , since the size of the first reflecting unit 111 is smaller than that of the second reflecting unit 112 , more than two first reflecting units 111 may be provided in correspondence with the same second reflecting unit 112 .
[0062] In some optional embodiments, as shown in FIG5 , two or more first reflective units 111 are provided corresponding to the same second reflective unit 112. In the corresponding second reflective units 112 and the two or more first reflective units 111, the orthographic projections of the two or more first reflective units 111 on the substrate 11 are located within the orthographic projection of the same second reflective unit 112 on the substrate 11. FIG5 illustrates only one second reflective unit 112. Optionally, there may be multiple second reflective units 112, with the multiple second reflective units 112 being arranged at intervals, and each second reflective unit 112 being provided with two or more first reflective units 111 on the side facing the display surface of the display panel 10.
[0063] In these optional embodiments, since the first reflective unit 111 is relatively small, two or more first reflective units 111 are provided corresponding to the same second reflective unit 112, which can increase the number of arranged first reflective units 111 and improve the wireless communication performance of the first functional layer 101. The orthographic projections of the two or more first reflective units 111 on the substrate 11 are located within the orthographic projection of the same second reflective unit 112 on the substrate 11, making the arrangement of the first reflective units 111 and the second reflective units 112 more regular and facilitating manufacturing and molding.
[0064] Optionally, as shown in Figure 6, among the mutually corresponding second reflection units 112 and more than two first reflection units 111, the more than two first reflection units 111 have different positive projection areas on the substrate 11, so that the more than two first reflection units 111 corresponding to the same second reflection unit 112 can reflect wireless signals of different frequency bands, further improving the wireless communication performance of the display panel 10.
[0065] In some other optional embodiments, as shown in FIG. 5 , among the mutually corresponding second reflection units 112 and the two or more first reflection units 111 , the orthographic projection areas of the two or more first reflection units 111 on the substrate 11 may also be the same.
[0066] 7 and 8 , the orthographic projection shape of the first reflecting unit 111 on the substrate 11 and the orthographic projection shape of the second reflecting unit 112 on the substrate 11 may be the same or different. For example, the orthographic projection shape of the second reflecting unit 112 on the substrate 11 may be rectangular, and the orthographic projection shape of the first reflecting unit 111 on the substrate 11 may be rectangular or circular.
[0067] Optionally, in the embodiments shown in FIG. 7 and FIG. 8 , the reflective unit 110 and / or the connecting line 300 may not be arranged in the grid-shaped metal wiring layer, for example, the reflective unit 110 and / or the connecting line 300 are arranged in the light-transmitting conductive layer.
[0068] In some optional embodiments, as shown in Figures 1 to 8, the same reflection unit 110 can be connected to the same control circuit 610, or the same reflection unit 110 can be connected to more than two control circuits 610. The electrical load of the reflection unit 110 is changed by more than two control circuits 610, and the reflection unit 110 can be amplitude modulated and phase modulated.
[0069] Optionally, when the same reflective unit 110 is connected to more than two control circuits 610, as shown in FIG9 , the same reflective unit 110 is connected to more than two connecting lines 300, and the reflective unit 110 is connected to each control circuit 610 via each connecting line 300. When the same reflective unit 110 is connected to more than two connecting lines 300, the two or more connecting lines 300 are spaced apart on the same reflective unit 110 to reduce mutual influence between the two or more connecting lines 300.
[0070] 10 and 11 , the reflective unit 110 and / or the connecting line 300 are disposed in a grid-shaped metal wiring layer, and the metal routing direction of the grid-shaped metal wiring is different from that in FIG1 . In these embodiments, as shown in FIG10 , the reflective unit 110 may be connected to one connecting line 300 , or as shown in FIG11 , the reflective unit 110 may be connected to two or more connecting lines 300 .
[0071] In some optional embodiments, as shown in Figures 1 and 2 , the display panel 10 further includes a signal line layer 11 a . The reflective unit 110 and the connection line 300 can be provided in the same layer and both located in the signal line layer 11 a to simplify the structure of the display panel 10 .
[0072] Alternatively, as shown in Figures 12 to 14, the reflective unit 110 is disposed in the signal line layer 11a, and the connecting line 300 is disposed in other conductive layers. The reflective unit 110 and the connecting line 300 are disposed in different layers, which facilitates the free arrangement of the connecting line 300 in other conductive layers. Alternatively, the connecting line 300 is disposed in the signal line layer 11a, and the reflective unit 110 is disposed in other conductive layers. This facilitates the free arrangement of the connecting line 300 in the signal line layer 11a and the free arrangement of the reflective unit 110 in other conductive layers, and the arrangements of the reflective unit 110 and the connecting line 300 do not interfere with each other. In Figures 12 and 14, because the reflective unit 110 and the connecting line 300 are disposed in different layers, the reflective unit 110 can be observed in the top view while the connecting line 300 cannot be observed.
[0073] Alternatively, the connecting wire 300 may be arranged in the conductive layer on the side of the functional layer 100 facing away from the shielding layer 200. For example, the connecting wire 300 may be arranged in the signal wire layer 11a, which may be located on the side of the functional layer 100 facing away from the shielding layer 200. Alternatively, as shown in FIG13 , the connecting wire 300 may be arranged in the conductive layer between the functional layer 100 and the shielding layer 200. Alternatively, the connecting wire 300 may be arranged in the signal wire layer 11a, which may be located between the functional layer 100 and the shielding layer 200.
[0074] The signal line layer 11a can be arranged in various ways. For example, as shown in Figures 1 to 6 and Figures 9 to 14, the signal line layer 11a includes a grid of metal wiring, at least part of which is multiplexed as the reflective unit 110 and / or the connecting line 300. The grid of metal wiring includes first signal lines extending along a first direction X (gray signal lines extending along the first direction X in Figure 1) and second signal lines extending along a second direction Y (gray signal lines extending along the second direction Y in Figure 1). The plurality of first signal lines and the plurality of second signal lines are arranged in a cross-pattern to form a grid.
[0075] As described above, when part of the mesh metal wiring is reused as the reflection unit 110 and / or the connection line 300, the mesh metal wiring is insulated from the mesh metal wiring at other positions to avoid short circuit connection between adjacent reflection units 110 and / or connection lines 300.
[0076] Optionally, as shown in Figures 10, 11 and 14, the extension direction of the grid-shaped metal wiring intersects with the length direction of the display panel 10. The extension direction of the grid-shaped metal wiring may be the extension direction of the first signal line or the extension direction of the second signal line. The display panel 10 includes a first side and a second side, and the two first sides and the two second sides are alternately connected to enclose the display panel 10. The length of the first side is greater than the length of the second side, and the extension direction of the first side may be the length direction of the display panel 10. The extension direction of the grid-shaped metal wiring intersects with the length direction of the display panel 10, that is, the extension direction of the first signal line and / or the second signal line intersects with the extension direction of the first side, which can reduce the influence of the grid-shaped metal wiring on the display effect of the display panel 10.
[0077] In other optional embodiments, as shown in Figures 7, 8, and 15 to 17, the display panel 10 further includes a light-transmitting conductive layer 11b. The material of the light-transmitting conductive layer 11b includes, for example, a light-transmitting conductive material such as indium tin oxide to increase the light transmittance of the light-transmitting conductive layer 11b. The light-transmitting conductive layer 11b has high light transmittance and is conductive.
[0078] Optionally, at least one of the reflective unit 110 , the connecting line 300 and the shielding layer 200 is disposed on the light-transmitting conductive layer 11 b to improve the light transmission performance of the reflective surface assembly 12 and reduce the influence of the reflective surface assembly 12 on the display effect of the display panel 10 .
[0079] Optionally, the light-transmitting conductive layer 11b includes a first conductive layer (not shown) and a second conductive layer (not shown) stacked together, with at least one of the reflective unit 110 and the connecting wire 300 disposed in the first conductive layer, and the shielding layer 200 disposed in the second conductive layer. In these optional embodiments, the connecting wire 300 and the shielding layer 200 are both disposed in the light-transmitting conductive layer 11b, but are located in different conductive layers. This can, on the one hand, reduce the mutual influence between the arrangement of the connecting wire 300 and the shielding layer 200, and on the other hand, ensure the light transmittance of the reflective surface assembly 12.
[0080] Optionally, when the reflective unit 110 and / or the connecting line 300 are arranged on the transparent conductive layer 11b, as shown in Figure 16, the reflective unit 110 can be connected to one connecting line 300; or, as shown in Figure 17, the reflective unit 110 can be connected to more than two connecting lines 300.
[0081] In some optional embodiments, as shown in FIG18 , the substrate 11 includes an array substrate 11c and a common electrode layer 11d. The common electrode layer 11d is located on the side of the array substrate 11c facing the display surface of the display panel 10, that is, the common electrode layer 11d is located on the side of the array substrate 11c facing the reflective surface assembly. The reflective unit 110 is provided on the side of the common electrode layer 11d facing away from the array substrate 11c. The common electrode layer 11d is reused as a shielding layer 200. This allows the shielding layer 200 to reuse the original layer structure of the display panel 10, thereby simplifying the structure of the display panel 10.
