AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Pneumatic weapons with preloaded tanks face inefficiencies in automating the firing cycle due to excessive pneumatic load consumption and loss of power, as the traditional closure mechanism counteracts with the hammer, leading to incomplete assembly and reduced projectile force.

Method used

An automatic mechanism delays the barrel closure block's movement, synchronizing with the hammer's rebound to conserve energy and maintain full power without additional pneumatic load consumption, using existing components and eliminating the need for sealing rings, allowing for efficient reassembly and reduced effort in the firing sequence.

Benefits of technology

This solution enhances the firing cycle's automation by minimizing pneumatic load usage, maintaining projectile force, and simplifying the design of pneumatic weapons, while avoiding counteraction with the hammer during valve opening, thus optimizing the energy transfer for repeated firing sequences.

Description

[0001] MECHANISM FOR AUTOMATING FIRING CYCLES IN PNEUMATIC WEAPONS

[0002] 1. TITLE AND TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0003] The present invention relates to the automation of the mechanism in pneumatic weapons with a pre-loaded reservoir by means of delaying the barrel closing block to optimally perform feedback or cycling of the complete shot.

[0004] 2. STATE OF THE TECHNIQUE AND PROBLEMS TO BE SOLVED

[0005] It is known that in pneumatic weapons with a pre-charged tank, the firing method is the opening of a valve that is struck by a mass commonly called a hammer, driven by a spring, and allows a portion of the pneumatic charge to pass from the tank to a duct that communicates with the chamber of the barrel, where the closure that acts as a shutter is located, and in front of it the projectile that, due to the pressure of the pneumatic charge, is forced to take the rifling of the barrel's bore, moving rapidly, leaving the mouth of the bore, completing the firing sequence in the weapon.

[0006] In the traditional automation system, the locking piece does not fit into any point of the frame as in manual repeating systems; it accompanies, together with the hammer, the reloading of a projectile into the chamber and the impact on the valve stem.

[0007] In this process, several forces are harnessed to reassemble the mechanism: the pneumatic pressure that reaches the unwedged closure from the valve, the mass and resistance of the projectile as it takes the shape of the barrel bore, the permanence of pressure while the rocket does not leave the muzzle, the pressure exerted by the pre-charged reservoir on the frontal charge of the valve, when the inertial moment of the hammer blow ends, counteracting it. Despite all these reactions, it is not sufficient and a portion of the pneumatic agent is diverted to assemble the hammer and close, which implies a problem of greater consumption of the pneumatic charge, a loss of power since at the same time that compression is being applied to the projectile, it is diverted to the hammer for assembly.

[0008] The solution provided by the inventor is an automatic mechanism that delays the barrel's closing block and synchronizes with the hammer's rebound on the valve the energy necessary to re-arm the assembly without further consumption, giving full power to the projectile and being carried out with practically the same components as a manual repeating weapon commonly known in the pneumatic weapons industry.

[0009] In turn, this mechanism prevents counteracting with the hammer in the forward state by opening the valve, synchronizing both in the reverse state, the energy necessary to rearm the complete firing sequence again.

[0036] 4. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0037] The operating principle is: pressing the tail of the trigger (1) by means of the first connecting rod (2) moves the second connecting rod (3) releasing the sear (4) which by pressure of the hammer (5) driven by the main spring (6) rotates the hammer (5) impacting the connecting rod of the valve (7) transmitting on the stem of the valve (8) the energy for its opening, releasing a portion of the pneumatic charge from the pre-charged tank (9) directed by a conduit (10) towards the chamber of the barrel (1 1) being in the front part to the closing block (12) and in the rear part with the projectile (13).

[0038] The pressure generated by the pneumatic agent pushes the projectile to the beginning of the rifling of the barrel (14) that will stabilize the bolide, not finding the necessary resistance to take the format of the barrel bore (15) by the closing block (12) that moves back due to its low mass and a recovery spring (16) of soft tension, sliding inside the front part of the barrel chamber (17) acting as a piston in a short journey, to the upper part of the hammer (18) that still do not connect, delaying the movement of the closing block (12) by means of partial strangulation of the entrance holes to the barrel (19) by the front section of the closing block (20) and adding a certain distance between both pieces, between 6 to 10 millimeters approximately, avoids interfering at the moment of opening of the valve, joining the closing block (12) in the return of the hammer (5),the latter driven by the pressure generated from the pre-charged tank (9) on the front face of the valve (21) with acute angle profile plus the valve closing spring (22) transmit this return by means of the valve connecting rod (7) to the hammer (5) throwing it beyond its rest position, by conservation of inertia of the mass of the hammer (5) in rotation, completing the force necessary for the complete assembly of the mechanism, the main source of energy, the resistance of the projectile when taking the format of the barrel bore (15) transmitted to the breech block (12) and this to the hammer (5), both already in recoil, offer a seal by means of the fit between pieces, without the presence of a sealing ring (O'rings) with the rear part of the breech block (20) and with the front part of the barrel chamber (17) until the projectile leaves the barrel (23) retreating and accumulating, energy in the masses of the hammer (5) and breech block (12) overcoming their respective springs (6) and (16), bringing the hammer (5) to the firing position and the breech block (12) completing its travel, is driven by the recoil spring (16) advancing, dragging a new projectile to the chamber of the barrel (11) completing a new firing cycle without consuming more pneumatic charge and lightening the efforts in the design of the basic construction components in pneumatic weapons with pre-charged tank.

[0039] The counterweight type hammer (5) rotates to facilitate reassembly. Another feature is that the front face of the valve (21) has an acute angle profile B between 20° and 30°, requiring less energy to open.

[0040] In addition, it uses in pairs and on the same axis the holes (19) of entry to the barrel to have an even lateral thrust, on the projectile (13) in the presence of slight leaks between the pieces of the closing block (12) and the chamber of the barrel (11), in the suppression of (O'rings) to seal.

[0041] The mechanism of the invention also does not use (O'rings) between the rear part of the lock block (12) and the barrel chamber (11), sealing by means of the adjustment between both pieces, achieving a lower tension recovery spring (16) and better energy absorption, avoiding friction of the (O'rings).

[0042] The technical effect is to avoid counteracting with the hammer (5) in the forward state by opening the valve (21), synchronizing both in the reverse direction the energy needed to rearm the complete firing sequence again.

[0043] The rear part of the closing block (12) strangles at the beginning, the filling of the chamber (11) with the pneumatic agent, plus the distance between the hammer (5) and closing block (12), synchronize forces in recoil.
