[0008] Hereinafter, embodiments for carrying out the present disclosure will be described in detail. However, the present disclosure is not limited to the following embodiments. In the following embodiments, components are not essential unless specifically stated. The same applies to numerical values and their ranges, and do not limit the present disclosure.
[0009] A supply door member according to an embodiment of the present disclosure constitutes a vehicle door and includes a panel material to which a door glass is not attached, and an adhesive that is provided in the adhesive area of the panel material to which the door glass is attached, has a flat surface on a portion opposite the panel material, and retains curing ability. Specific examples of the supply door member will be described below with reference to the drawings, but the present disclosure is not limited thereto.
[0010] First Embodiment A replenishing door member 20 according to a first embodiment will be described below.
[0011] The supply door member 20 (see FIG. 2) of this embodiment is used as a supply item for the vehicle back door 10 (see FIG. 1). The vehicle back door 10 (hereinafter simply referred to as the "back door 10") of this embodiment is a back door of an automobile.
[0012] First, the back door 10 will be described. Fig. 1 shows the back door 10 in a state where a back door opening (not shown) of a vehicle body 11, indicated by a two-dot chain line, is closed. In Fig. 1, an arrow UP indicates the upper side of the vehicle, an arrow W indicates the width direction of the vehicle, an arrow IN indicates the inside of the vehicle (compartment side), and an arrow OUT indicates the outside of the vehicle. The back door 10 is attached to the vehicle body 11 and has the function of opening and closing the back door opening.
[0013] The tailgate 10 includes an inner panel (not shown) disposed on the inside of the vehicle and an outer panel 12 disposed on the outside of the vehicle. The tailgate 10 also has a window frame 16 to which a rear window glass 14 serving as door glass is attached. The rear window glass 14 is attached to the window frame 16 so as to cover an opening 17 inside the window frame 16 from the outside of the vehicle. In this embodiment, as an example, the rear window glass 14 is attached to the window frame 16 provided on the outer panel 12 of the tailgate 10 via an adhesive.
[0014] Next, the supply door member 20 will be described. The supply door member 20 is a supply item that is used to replace the tailgate 10 when a malfunction occurs in the tailgate 10 due to an accident or the like. The rear window glass 14 of the tailgate 10 is resistant to damage due to an accident or the like and is often reusable. Therefore, the supply door member 20 is shipped without the rear window glass 14 attached. In other words, the supplied door member 20 does not include the rear window glass 14 when shipped.
[0015] 2, the supply door member 20 includes an outer panel 22 and an adhesive 24. The outer panel 22 is an example of a panel material of the present disclosure.
[0016] The outer panel 22 is a panel material corresponding to the outer panel 12 disposed on the vehicle outer side of the back door 10. That is, in this embodiment, the shape of the outer panel 22 is the same as the shape of the outer panel 12. In addition, the outer panel 22 in this embodiment is made of resin, for example. Note that, examples of resins for the outer panel 22 include polypropylene resin (PP) and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer resin (ABS), but the present disclosure is not limited to these.
[0017] An inner panel 23 is joined to the outer panel 22. This inner panel 23 corresponds to an inner panel (not shown) disposed on the vehicle outer side of the back door 10. That is, in this embodiment, the shape of the inner panel 23 is the same as the shape of the inner panel of the back door 10. In addition, the inner panel 23 of this embodiment is made of resin, for example. Note that, while an example of the resin for the inner panel 23 is glass fiber reinforced polypropylene resin, the present disclosure is not limited thereto.
[0018] The supply door member 20 is also provided with a window frame 26 to which the rear window glass 14 is attached. This window frame 26 corresponds to the window frame 16 of the back door 10. In this embodiment, the window frame 26 is provided, for example, on the outer panel 22. The rear window glass 14 is attached to the window frame 26 via adhesive 24 so as to cover an opening 27 on the inside of the window frame 26 from the outside of the vehicle.
[0019] As shown in FIG. 2 , the adhesive 24 is provided in the bonding area of the outer panel 22 for the rear window glass 14. In the present embodiment, as an example, the adhesive 24 is provided continuously along the window frame 26 of the outer panel 22. Specifically, the adhesive 24 is provided continuously along the window frame 26 so as to surround the opening 27. The adhesive 24 still retains its hardening ability (has hardening ability). In other words, the adhesive 24 is adhesive before it has completely hardened. Therefore, when bonding the rear window glass 14 to the window frame 26 of the outer panel 22, the rear window glass 14 can be bonded to the window frame 26 without removing a portion of the hardened adhesive and applying new adhesive. Note that although an adhesive effect can be obtained even if the adhesive 24 is provided partially along the window frame 26 of the outer panel 22, a continuous adhesive is more preferable.
[0020] 3, the adhesive 24 has a flat surface 24A on the side opposite the outer panel 22. Specifically, the flat surface 24A is provided on the portion of the adhesive 24 that is bonded to the passenger compartment side surface of the rear window glass 14. In the present embodiment, as an example, the flat surface 24A is provided around the entire circumference, similar to the adhesive 24 that is provided around the entire circumference of the window frame 26. Note that the adhesive 24 may be, for example, a one-component curing urethane adhesive or a two-component curing urethane adhesive, but the present disclosure is not limited to these.
[0021] 3 and 4, a protective material 28 is attached to the flat surface 24A of the adhesive 24. This protective material 28 is a member that protects the flat surface 24A. In the present embodiment, as an example, the protective material 28 is formed in a film shape. Note that the adhesive 24 can bond the rear window glass 14 to the window frame 26 of the outer panel 22 as long as the flat surface 24A to which the rear window glass 14 is bonded still has the ability to harden.
[0022] The flat surface 24A of the adhesive 24 in this embodiment is formed, for example, by applying the adhesive 24 to the adhesion area of the outer panel 22, placing the protective material 28 on the portion of the adhesive 24 opposite the outer panel 22, and smoothing the adhesive 24 while pressing it with a tool such as a roller. Note that the protective material 28 may be placed after smoothing the adhesive 24 to form the flat surface 24A.
[0023] In this embodiment, the outer panel 22 is painted. Therefore, a primer coating for painted surfaces may be applied to an area of the outer panel 22 that is wider than the adhesive area, and the adhesive 24 may be applied to the primer-treated area. By applying a primer coating for painted surfaces to an area of the outer panel 22 that is wider than the adhesive area in this manner, the bonding strength between the window frame 26 and the rear window glass 14 by the adhesive 24 is improved.
[0024] Next, the operation and effects of this embodiment will be described. When replacing the supply door member 20 and the back door 10 of this embodiment, first, the back door 10 is removed from the vehicle body 11. The rear window glass 14 is also removed from the back door 10, and the adhesive area of the rear window glass 14 is primed. The protective material 28 is then peeled off the adhesive 24 of the supply door member 20, and the primer-treated primer-treated portion 15 of the rear window glass 14 is aligned with the flat surface 24A. The rear window glass 14 is then pressed against the window frame 26, thereby attaching the rear window glass 14 to the supply door member 20 via the adhesive 24, as shown in FIG. 5 . The supply door member 20 with the adhered rear window glass 14 is then attached to the vehicle body 11, completing the replacement of the supply door member 20 and the back door 10.
[0025] The primer treatment is a process in which a coating material (primer) with excellent adhesive properties is applied as an undercoat (first) to the material to be bonded (e.g., resin, glass, or metal). The adhesion of the adhesive 24 to the material is improved by applying this undercoat.
[0026] Here, in the supply door member 20 of this embodiment, if the adhesive 24 still has the ability to harden, there is no need to remove the hardened portion of the adhesive and apply new adhesive, as compared to, for example, an adhesive that has hardened (but does not have the ability to harden). Therefore, the supply door member 20 of this embodiment simplifies the work of attaching the rear window glass 14 to the window frame 26. Furthermore, in the supply door member 20 of this embodiment, the adhesive 24 applied to the window frame 26 is pressed evenly to provide a flat surface 24A, so there is no need to press evenly the adhesive applied to the window frame at a repair site in the field. Therefore, the supply door member 20 of this embodiment simplifies the work of attaching the rear window glass 14 to the window frame 26.
[0027] The supply door member 20 of this embodiment simplifies the work of attaching the rear window glass 14 to the window frame 26, thereby reducing the time required to replace the back door 10 with the supply door member 20 on the vehicle body 11.
[0028] In the supply door member 20 of this embodiment, a protective material 28 is attached to the flat surface 24A of the adhesive 24. This protective material 28 maintains the remaining hardening ability of the flat surface 24A of the adhesive 24. The protective material 28 also protects the flat surface 24A of the adhesive 24 from foreign matter and the like. This ensures the adhesive strength of the adhesive 24 when attaching the rear window glass 14 to the supply door member 20.
[0029] In the supply door member 20 of this embodiment, the adhesive 24 is provided continuously along the window frame 26, and therefore the adhesive 24 provides a higher seal between the supply door member 20 and the rear window glass 14 than, for example, a configuration in which the adhesive 24 is provided intermittently along the window frame 26.
[0030] The supply door member 20 of this embodiment has an outer panel 22 and an inner panel 23 made of resin, and is therefore lighter than, for example, a panel in which either the outer panel 22 or the inner panel 23 is made of metal. This makes it easier to replace the back door 10 with the supply door member 20 at a repair site in the market.
[0031] In the supply door member 20 of the first embodiment, the window frame 26 is provided on the outer panel 22, but the present disclosure is not limited to this configuration. For example, the window frame 26 may be provided on the inner panel 23. In this case, the rear window glass 14 is attached to the window frame 26 of the inner panel 23 via an adhesive 24. Note that it is preferable to apply a primer treatment to the adhesive area of the inner panel 23.
[0032] In the supply door member 20 of the first embodiment, both the outer panel 22 and the inner panel 23 are made of resin, but the present disclosure is not limited to this. For example, at least one of the outer panel 22 and the inner panel 23 may be made of a material other than resin (e.g., a metal material). Even in this case, it is preferable to apply a primer treatment to the adhesive area of the outer panel 22 or the inner panel 23.
[0033] Second Embodiment A replenishing door member 40 according to a second embodiment will be described below.
[0034] Like the supply door member 20, the supply door member 40 is a supply item that replaces the back door 10. Like the supply door member 20, the supply door member 40 is shipped without the rear window glass 14 attached.
[0035] 6, the supply door member 40 includes an outer panel 42, an inner panel 43, and an adhesive 44. The outer panel 42 is an example of a panel material and an example of an outer panel according to the present disclosure. The inner panel 43 is also an example of a panel material and an example of an inner panel according to the present disclosure.
[0036] The outer panel 42 is a panel material corresponding to the outer panel 12 disposed on the vehicle outer side of the back door 10, and has an outer upper part 42A and an outer lower part 42B. The outer upper part 42A is a first panel material of the present disclosure, and the outer lower part 42B is a second panel material of the present disclosure.
[0037] The outer upper 42A is a panel material that forms the upper side of the outer panel 42. The outer upper 42A is joined to the upper side of the inner panel 43.
[0038] The outer lower section 42B is a panel material that forms the lower side of the outer panel 42. The outer lower section 42B is joined to the lower side of the inner panel 43.
[0039] The outer upper 42A and the outer lower 42B of the present embodiment are made of resin, for example. Note that the resin for the outer upper 42A and the outer lower 42B may be the same as that for the outer panel 22.
[0040] The inner panel 43 is a panel material corresponding to an inner panel (not shown) disposed on the vehicle inner side of the back door 10, and is used to join the outer upper section 42A and the outer lower section 42B as described above. The inner panel 43 in this embodiment is made of resin, for example. Note that the resin used for the inner panel 43 may be the same as that used for the inner panel 23.
[0041] The service door member 40 is also provided with a window frame 46 to which the rear window glass 14 is attached. This window frame 46 corresponds to the window frame 16 of the back door 10. In this embodiment, the window frame 46 is formed, for example, by an outer panel 42 and an inner panel 43. Specifically, the window frame 46 is formed by an outer upper section 42A, an outer lower section 42B, and the inner panel 43. Here, the upper frame 46A of the window frame 46 is formed by the outer upper section 42A, the lower frame 46B of the window frame 46 is formed by the outer lower section 42B, and a pair of left and right vertical frames 46C of the window frame 46 are formed by the inner panel 43. The rear window glass 14 is attached to the window frame 46 via adhesive 44 so as to cover an opening 47 formed inside the window frame 46 from the outside of the vehicle.
[0042] The adhesive 44 is provided in the bonding areas of the outer panel 42 and the inner panel 43 to which the rear window glass 14 is bonded. Specifically, the adhesive 44 is provided in the bonding areas of the outer upper section 42A, the outer lower section 42B, and the inner panel 43 to which the rear window glass 14 is bonded. In the present embodiment, as an example, the adhesive 44 is provided continuously along the window frame 46 formed by the outer panel 42 and the inner panel 43. Specifically, the adhesive 44 is provided across the outer upper section 42A that forms the upper frame of the window frame 46, the outer lower section 42B that forms the lower frame of the window frame 46, and the inner panel 43 that forms a pair of vertical frames of the window frame 46. In other words, the adhesive 44 is provided continuously along the window frame 46 so as to surround the opening 47.
[0043] The adhesive 44 retains its hardening ability, similar to the adhesive 24. Therefore, when bonding the rear window glass 14 to the window frame 46, it is possible to bond the rear window glass 14 to the window frame 46 without having to remove part of the hardened adhesive and apply new adhesive.
[0044] 7, the adhesive 44 has a flat surface 44A on the side opposite the outer panel 42 and the inner panel 43. Specifically, the flat surface 44A is provided on the adhesive 44 at a portion that is bonded to the passenger compartment side surface of the rear window glass 14. In the present embodiment, as an example, the flat surface 44A is provided around the entire circumference, just like the adhesive 44 that is provided around the entire circumference of the window frame 46.
[0045] The protective material 28 may be attached to the flat surface 44A of the adhesive 44, similar to the adhesive 24. Furthermore, the flat surface 44A of the adhesive 44 of this embodiment may be formed in the same manner as the adhesive 24. Note that the adhesive 44 may be the same as the adhesive 24.
[0046] The outer panel 42 (outer upper 42A and outer lower 42B) of this embodiment is painted, similar to the outer panel 22. Therefore, similar to the outer panel 22, a primer treatment for painted surfaces may be applied to an area of the outer panel 42 that is wider than the adhesive area, and the adhesive 44 may be applied to the primer-treated area. By applying a primer treatment for painted surfaces to an area that is wider than the adhesive area of the outer panel 42 in this manner, the bonding strength of the adhesive 44 between the upper and lower frames of the window frame 46 and the rear window glass 14 is improved.
[0047] Furthermore, in this embodiment, the surface of the inner panel 43 facing the vehicle exterior is not painted. That is, the surface of the inner panel 43 facing the vehicle exterior is unpainted. Of the unpainted surface of the inner panel 43, at least the area that forms the pair of vertical frames of the window frame 46 may be frame-treated. Furthermore, the frame-treated portion of the unpainted surface of the inner panel 43 may be primed, and the adhesive 44 may then be applied to the primed portion. By applying the primer treatment for painted surfaces to an area of the inner panel 43 that is wider than the bonding area, the bonding strength of the adhesive 44 between the pair of vertical frames of the window frame 46 and the rear window glass 14 is improved.
[0048] The flame treatment applied to the inner panel 43 refers to a surface treatment in which the resin material is heated with a gas flame to introduce oxygen bonds or double bonds into the molecules on the surface of the resin material.
[0049] Next, the operation of this embodiment will be described, with the explanation of the operation obtained with the same configuration as in the first embodiment being omitted as appropriate.
[0050] In the supply door member 40 of this embodiment, the adhesive 44 still has the ability to harden, so there is no need to remove the hardened portion of the adhesive and apply new adhesive, as opposed to, for example, an adhesive that has hardened (i.e., no remaining hardening ability). This simplifies the process of attaching the rear window glass 14 to the window frame 46 with the supply door member 40 of this embodiment. Furthermore, in the supply door member 40 of this embodiment, the adhesive 44 applied to the window frame 46 is pressed evenly to provide a flat surface 44A, so there is no need to press evenly the adhesive applied to the window frame at a repair site in the field. This simplifies the process of attaching the rear window glass 14 to the window frame 46 with the supply door member 40 of this embodiment.
[0051] In the refueling door member 40 of this embodiment, the adhesive 44 is provided across the outer panel 42 (outer upper 42A and outer lower 42B) and the inner panel 43, which improves the sealing performance between the refueling door member 40 and the rear window glass 14 compared to a configuration in which the adhesive 44 is not provided across the outer panel 42 and the inner panel 43. In particular, in the refueling door member 40 of this embodiment, the adhesive 44 is provided continuously along the window frame 46, which improves the sealing performance between the refueling door member 40 and the rear window glass 14 compared to a configuration in which the adhesive 44 is provided intermittently along the window frame 46, for example.
[0052] In the second embodiment of the supply door member 40, both the outer panel 42 (the outer upper panel 42A and the outer lower panel 42B) and the inner panel 43 are made of resin, but the present disclosure is not limited to this. For example, at least one of the outer panel 42 and the inner panel 43 may be made of a material other than resin (e.g., a metal material). Even in this case, it is preferable to apply a primer treatment to the adhesive area of the outer panel 42 or the inner panel 43.
[0053] [Other Embodiments] In the first and second embodiments, the technology of the present disclosure is applied to the supply door members 20, 40 that are supplies for the back door 10. However, the technology of the present disclosure is not limited thereto. For example, the technology of the present disclosure may be applied to door supplies other than the back door of a vehicle.
[0054] The above describes preferred embodiments of the present disclosure, but the present disclosure is not necessarily limited to the above-described embodiments, and may be modified as appropriate within the scope of the spirit thereof.
