Description

Nano-dispersing device and nano-dispersing method thereof

[0001] The present invention relates to a nano-dispersing device and a nano-dispersing method thereof, and more particularly, to a nano-dispersing device and a nano-dispersing method thereof, which can efficiently disperse a dispersed phase by simultaneously providing ultrasonic waves to a dispersion medium and a dispersed phase, thereby enabling mass dispersion and shortening the time required for dispersion, thereby increasing process efficiency.

[0002]

[0003] With the development of nanotechnology, nanopowders can be manufactured using various methods, such as arc discharge, gas deposition, sputtering, and cryo-pulverization.

[0004] However, because these nanoparticles tend to clump together, proper dispersion of the nanoparticles is necessary during or after the manufacturing process. In particular, dispersion of the nanoparticles is essential when mixing them into a specific fluid, such as paint, ink, shampoo, beverage, or polish.

[0005] Accordingly, methods for dispersing nanoparticles contained in a fluid include methods utilizing ultrasound. Nanopowder dispersion methods utilizing ultrasound include bath-type methods, horn-type methods, and focused methods.

[0006] Among these, the focused method has the advantage of being able to obtain a more uniform dispersion effect, but has the limitation that it is difficult to disperse in large quantities due to the characteristics of the device and the optimal dispersion effect may not be obtained.

[0007] In a conventional nano powder dispersion device according to one embodiment, the device may include a fluid pipe through which a fluid containing nano powder passes, a receiving structure formed to surround the fluid pipe and having holes through which cooling water is injected and discharged, and an ultrasonic vibrator that generates ultrasonic waves to disperse the nano powder.

[0008] However, these conventional nanoparticle dispersion devices are centrally focused and can disperse nanoparticles, but since dispersion is only possible in one section, a considerable amount of time is required to disperse nanoparticles, which has the limitation of low efficiency.

[0009] Therefore, there is a need for the development of a new configuration of nano-dispersing device and method that can increase the efficiency of the process by accurately dispersing nanoparticles while reducing the time required for dispersing.

[0012]

[0024] Additionally, the ultrasonic forming unit according to an embodiment of the present invention may include a PZT vibrator.

[0025] In addition, the specific gravity of the dispersion medium according to an embodiment of the present invention may be different from the specific gravity of the dispersion phase.

[0026] Additionally, the material of the dispersion medium according to an embodiment of the present invention may be of a different type from the material of the dispersion phase.

[0041] The advantages and / or features of the present invention, and the methods for achieving them, will become clearer with reference to the embodiments described in detail below together with the accompanying drawings. These embodiments are provided only to ensure that the disclosure of the present invention is complete and to fully inform those skilled in the art of the scope of the invention, and the present invention is defined only by the scope of the claims. Like reference numerals refer to like elements throughout the specification.

[0042]

[0043] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the attached drawings.

[0044] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a nano powder dispersion device according to one embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 2 is a perspective view partially cross-sectionally processed to explain the internal configuration of the device illustrated in FIG. 1, FIG. 3 is a front view of a cross-section of the device of FIG. 1, and FIG. 4 is a view for explaining a dispersion process into nanoparticles in a dispersed phase that takes place within the device of FIG. 1.

[0045] As illustrated in these drawings, a nano-dispersion device (100) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include a device housing (110) having a body having an inlet (112) through which a dispersion medium, which is a dispersion medium, is introduced and an outlet (113) through which the dispersion medium, which has completed the dispersion process, is discharged, a cooling water moving unit (130) through which cooling water is moved and a dispersion phase moving unit (140) through which a dispersion phase flows, and an ultrasonic forming unit (150) mounted on the device housing (110) to generate ultrasonic waves to disperse the dispersion phase into nanoparticles within the dispersion medium.

[0046] In addition, the device (100) of the present embodiment may include a dispersion focusing unit (160) mounted within the device housing (110) to accelerate dispersion of the dispersion phase by the ultrasonic forming unit (150).

[0047] By this configuration, dispersion of the dispersed phase can be efficiently achieved by providing ultrasound to the dispersion medium while simultaneously providing the dispersed phase through the dispersion concentration unit (160).

[0048] When explaining each configuration, the device housing (110) of the present embodiment forms the basic frame of the device and may include, as shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, a cylindrical body (111) formed in an overall hollow cylindrical shape, a pair of blocking plates (116) in the shape of discs that block both openings in the cylindrical body (111), and a fixing member (117) that connects the pair of blocking plates (116) to fix the pair of blocking plates (116) to the cylindrical body (111).

[0049] Here, the fixed member (117) can be mounted at three positions at 120 degree intervals, for example, to firmly connect a pair of blocking plates (116) to the cylindrical body (111).

[0050] As shown in FIG. 1, the cylindrical body (111) may be provided with an inlet (112) through which a dispersion medium, which is a dispersion medium, is introduced, and an outlet (113) through which the dispersion medium, which has completed the dispersion process, is discharged. As shown in FIG. 2, the inlet (112) and the outlet (113) may be mutually connected by the internal space of the cylindrical body (111).

[0051] That is, the dispersion medium introduced into the inlet (112) moves along a movement path formed within the cylindrical body (111) in the form of a fluid, and after the dispersion phase is dispersed into the dispersion medium in the size of nanoparticles by the ultrasonic forming unit (150) and dispersion focusing unit (160) described later, the dispersion medium containing the dispersion phase can flow out to the outside through the outlet (113).

[0052] In addition, the specific gravity of the dispersion medium in this embodiment is different from the specific gravity of the dispersed phase, and the material of the dispersion medium can be prepared as a different type from the material of the dispersed phase. Through this, the dispersion medium can be dispersed into nanoparticle sizes by the dispersed phase.

[0053] In detail, the inlet (112) and outlet (113) of the cylindrical body (111) of the present embodiment may have a circulation structure, through which the dispersion medium introduced through the inlet (112) may be circulated.

[0054] In addition, the dispersion phase and dispersion medium can be implemented as liquids, and the device according to the present invention can be used as a device for producing an emulsion in which one liquid is micronized and dispersed in another liquid.

[0055] And, a dispersion phase having a different specific gravity from the dispersion medium enters the dispersion medium through a dispersion concentration unit (160) to be described later. At this time, efficient dispersion of the dispersion medium can be achieved by irradiating ultrasonic waves through an ultrasonic forming unit (150) at the point where the dispersion medium and the dispersion phase having different specific gravity meet.

[0056] Although not shown, a pump may be provided on a path connected to the outlet (113), for example, and a flow may be formed from the inlet (112) toward the outlet (113) by the force provided by the pump. As mentioned above, it may or may not be a circular structure.

[0057] A cooling water moving unit (130) through which cooling water flows may be provided at the center of the cylindrical body (111) of the device housing (110), i.e., around the axis. Although not shown, cooling water may be continuously supplied from the cooling water supply unit to the cooling water moving unit (130), thereby cooling the dispersion medium introduced into the cylindrical body (111), thereby enabling the nanoparticle dispersion process to be performed more efficiently.

[0058] In particular, the coolant moving unit (130) is provided at the center of the axis of the cylindrical body (111), and the ultrasonic forming unit (150) is provided so as to be spaced apart from the coolant moving unit (130). Through this, the ultrasonic waves provided from the ultrasonic forming unit (150) are provided directly into the dispersion medium without passing through the coolant moving unit (130), so that the dispersion efficiency of the dispersion phase can be improved.

[0059] In addition, the cylindrical body (111) may be provided with a dispersed phase moving part (140) that is provided parallel to the cooling water moving part (130) at a position slightly spaced from the cooling water moving part (130), as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.

[0060] A dispersed phase, such as oil, is moved along the internal path of the dispersed phase moving unit (140), and the dispersed phase moved through the dispersed phase moving unit (140) is split into fine pieces through the dispersion concentration unit (160) described later and can be provided to a dispersion region (110S) where dispersion is taking place within a dispersion medium.

[0061] Meanwhile, the ultrasonic forming unit (150) of the present embodiment is provided to surround the central portion of the cooling water moving unit (130) in the cylindrical body (111) of the device housing (110), as illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 3, and generates ultrasonic waves to disperse a dispersed phase passing through a dispersion region (110S) between the ultrasonic forming unit (150) and a dispersion concentration unit (160) to be described later within the cylindrical body (111) into a dispersion medium in a fine size.

[0062] To elaborate, the ultrasonic forming unit (150) is a focused type that can convert electrical energy into ultrasonic energy and provide ultrasonic energy to the nanopowder. The ultrasonic forming unit (150) of the present embodiment can be formed using, for example, a PZT vibrator, but is not limited thereto.

[0063] Referring to Fig. 1, the ultrasonic forming unit (150) of the present embodiment has a cylindrical shape and can be provided in the central portion of the cylindrical body (111). Referring to Fig. 3, the internal space of the cylindrical body (111) in which the ultrasonic forming unit (150) is mounted has an overall hollow cylindrical shape, and the inner diameters of the cylindrical body (111) in sections (111a, 111c) in which the inlet (112) and the outlet (113) are provided and in section (111b) in which the ultrasonic forming unit (150) is provided are different.

[0064] That is, the inner diameter of the cylindrical body (111) in the section (111a, 111c) where the inlet (112) and outlet (113) are provided is smaller than the inner diameter of the cylindrical body (111) in the section (111b) where the ultrasonic forming unit (150) is provided, and the interconnected sections are provided at an angle, so that the dispersion medium introduced through the inlet (112) can be diffused in the inner space of the cylindrical body (111) where the ultrasonic forming unit (150) is provided, and the dispersion medium including the dispersed phase that has gone through the dispersion process can pass through the inner section of the cylindrical body (111) that becomes relatively smaller and flow out through the outlet (113).

[0065] In this way, the ultrasonic forming unit (150) of the present embodiment provides ultrasonic waves to a dispersion medium moving along a path formed within the cylindrical body (111) so that the dispersion phase can be dispersed into nanoparticles.

[0066] However, in order to accelerate the dispersion of the dispersed phase into the dispersion medium, that is, to enable the dispersion process from the dispersed phase into the dispersion medium to be intensively performed, the device of the present embodiment may further include a dispersion concentration unit (160).

[0067] The dispersion concentration unit (160) of the present embodiment is provided to partially surround the cooling water moving unit (130) within the cylindrical body (111), as illustrated in FIGS. 2 and 3, and the dispersion process within the dispersion medium can be accelerated by providing oil, for example, through the dispersion phase moving unit (140) to the dispersion region (110S) where the dispersion phase is dispersed into the dispersion medium by the ultrasonic forming unit (150), in the same manner as the present configuration. That is, the dispersion process can be performed intensively.

[0068] Referring to FIGS. 2 and 3, the dispersed phase moving unit (140) provided adjacent to the coolant moving unit (130) penetrates the dispersed phase concentrating unit (160), through which the dispersed phase moved through the dispersed phase moving unit (140) can be provided to the dispersed phase concentrating unit (160).

[0069] In addition, the dispersion concentration unit (160) sprays the dispersion phase received from the dispersion phase moving unit (140) into the aforementioned dispersion area through a network structure formed on the side. Through this, it is possible to assist in the acceleration of dispersion along with the refinement of the dispersion phase in terms of structure.

[0070] The dispersion concentration unit (160) of the present embodiment may be formed of a material containing pores (160h). For example, it may be formed of a nano-structured mesh network. Accordingly, the dispersion phase moving along the dispersion phase moving unit (140) can be evenly spread across the dispersion region (110S) while passing through the pores (160h) formed on the side of the dispersion concentration unit (160).

[0071] The pores (160h) provided in the dispersion concentration portion (160) may have a uniform size of, for example, 10 μm or more and 100 μm or less, through which the dispersion phase can be evenly distributed.

[0072] In addition, as described above, the residence time of the dispersion medium and the dispersion phase, which are liquids of different types and with different specific gravity, can be increased by being positioned in the pores (160h) provided in the dispersion concentration section (160), and through this, the dispersion of the dispersion medium by the dispersion phase can be achieved more efficiently.

[0073] However, the structure and pore size of the dispersion concentration portion (160) are not limited thereto, and it is obvious that other structures can be applied as long as the dispersion phase can be evenly dispersed.

[0074] Meanwhile, below, with reference to FIG. 4, the dispersion of the dispersed phase into the dispersion medium by the configurations of the above-described device (100) will be roughly explained.

[0075] First, the dispersion medium is introduced through the inlet (112) of the device housing (110). At this time, cooling water is supplied in the direction of arrow A or in the reverse direction through the cooling water moving unit (130) to cool the introduced dispersion medium.

[0076] When the dispersion medium moves in the direction of arrow B along the internal path of the cylindrical body (111), current is applied to the ultrasonic forming unit (150) to generate ultrasonic waves, and the generated ultrasonic waves are provided in the direction of arrow C, and energy is transferred to the dispersion phase through the dispersion medium passing through the dispersion region (110S), so that the dispersion phase undergoes a dispersion process within the dispersion medium.

[0077] At this time, the dispersed phase provided through the dispersed phase moving unit (140) can be provided to the dispersion area in the direction of arrow D through the dispersion concentration unit (160), thereby further accelerating the dispersion of the dispersed phase into the dispersion medium.

[0078] Meanwhile, below, a nano-dispersion method of a nano-dispersion device (100) according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. 5.

[0079] Figure 5 is a flowchart of a nano-dispersion method of a nano-dispersion device according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0080] As illustrated herein, the nano-dispersion method of the present embodiment may include an inlet step (S100) of introducing a dispersion medium into an inlet (112) of a device housing (110), a dispersion step (S200) of operating an ultrasonic forming unit (150) to generate ultrasonic waves on a movement path of the dispersion medium formed within the device housing (110) to disperse a dispersion phase into the dispersion medium, and an outlet step (S300) of discharging a dispersion medium including a dispersion phase dispersed by the ultrasonic forming unit (150) through an outlet (113) of the device housing (110).

[0081] Here, in the dispersion step (S200), the dispersed phase moved through the dispersion phase moving unit (140) is provided into the dispersion medium through the dispersion concentration unit (160), thereby accelerating the dispersion of the dispersed phase into the dispersion medium by the ultrasonic forming unit (150).

[0082] In the inflow step (S100) of the present embodiment, a cooling process for the dispersion medium dispersed within the device housing (110) during the dispersion step can be performed by providing cooling water through the cooling water moving unit (130).

[0083] In this way, according to the present embodiment, by providing ultrasound to the dispersion medium through the ultrasonic forming unit (150) and simultaneously providing the dispersed phase through the dispersed phase moving unit (140), dispersion of the dispersed phase within the dispersion medium can be efficiently achieved, thereby shortening the time required for dispersion and thus increasing process efficiency. In addition, with this configuration, the dispersed phase can be dispersed in a large-capacity dispersion medium, enabling the device to be made larger in capacity.
