[0001] Description
[0002] Tensioning frame for holding a tensionable surface material and method for operating a tensioning frame
[0003] The invention relates to a clamping frame for holding a tensionable sheet material, comprising profiled strips and receptacles arranged in the profiled strips for attaching a piping of the tensionable sheet material. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for operating a clamping frame designed to hold a tensionable sheet material.
[0004] Such stretcher frames are frequently used in practice to stretch surface materials such as advertising banners, pictures, or the like. The surface materials are often made of fabric or textiles. The piping here is a virtually unlimited type of edge reinforcement used to attach the surface material to the profile strips.
[0005] A clamping frame of the type mentioned above is known, for example, from DE 20 2010 010 684 U1. This clamping frame consists of profile strips. The profile strips are assembled to form a closed inner frame. The disadvantage of this clamping frame is that, due to the fixed dimensions of the profile strips and their positioning within the clamping frame, it must be adjusted for different dimensions of the sheet material. Furthermore, particularly with large-format sheet materials, attaching the upper edge to the upper horizontal profile strip is very laborious if the user has to climb a ladder and move it several times.
[0006] Furthermore, WO 2004 / 081908 A1 discloses a tensioning frame for a tarpaulin, in particular for mounting on a truck, in which a separate keder profile is attached to an anchor profile. The anchor profile has grooves and strips for adjusting the keder profile. However, this means that the tensioning frame can only be adjusted to the dimensions of the sheet material to a very limited extent and is very inconvenient. The invention is based on the problem of developing a tensioning frame of the type mentioned above in such a way that it is particularly easy to handle and adaptable to different dimensions of the sheet material. Furthermore, a particularly convenient method for operating a tensioning frame is to be created.
[0007] The first-mentioned problem is solved according to the invention in that the profile strips can be moved towards each other by a drive means.
[0008] This design allows the profile strips to be easily moved into a mounting position where the sheet material can be attached particularly conveniently. Thanks to the invention, even large-format sheet materials can be mounted at a height that is easily accessible to the user. Furthermore, by using the appropriate number and size of the profile strips, the clamping frame can be adapted to the dimensions of the sheet material. This makes the clamping frame particularly versatile.
[0009] According to another advantageous development of the invention, the profile strips are easily interchangeable for differently designed piping or different dimensions of the surface material if the profile strips are detachably mounted on horizontal and vertical struts and if the struts are connected to the drive means.
[0010] According to another advantageous development of the invention, the sheet material can be tensioned particularly evenly if angled profile strips with angled receptacles for corner areas of the tensionable sheet material are movably arranged on the struts. Preferably, the angled profile strips are each coupled to horizontal and vertical struts so that they are moved by the drive means when the struts are moved.
[0011] According to another advantageous embodiment of the invention, the laborious manual movement of the profile strips can be easily avoided if the drive means has an electric drive. This makes handling the clamping frame particularly convenient. According to another advantageous embodiment of the invention, the drive means has particularly few components to be assembled if the electric drive is designed as a linear drive. Furthermore, the electric drive can be easily designed as an integral component of the struts.
[0012] According to another advantageous development of the invention, quality control of the stretchable sheet material is particularly simple if the profile strips are arranged in front of a light wall with illuminants. This design makes the stretching frame very suitable for optical inspection of the stretchable sheet material for weaving defects, color defects, printing defects, or the like, because defects are particularly clearly visible when illuminated through the sheet material. The illuminants are preferably light-emitting diodes. Such light-emitting diodes can also be used in dimmable and color-adjustable versions.
[0013] For surface materials that are small relative to the light wall with illuminants, complete illumination of the light wall would be disruptive and consume unnecessary energy. According to another advantageous development of the invention, quality control of the surface material is particularly convenient if the illuminants for generating a flat illuminated area of the light wall can be switched depending on the dimensions of the tensionable surface material.
[0014] According to another advantageous development of the invention, adjusting the profile strips to the dimensions of the tensionable surface material is particularly simple if the drive means is connected to a control device and if the control device controls the drive means depending on the dimensions of the surface material.
[0015] The second problem, namely the creation of a particularly convenient method for operating a clamping frame designed to accommodate a tensionable sheet material, is solved according to the invention in that profile strips of the clamping frame are moved by a drive means in the dimensions of the sheet material.
[0016] This design allows the profile strips to be moved depending on the dimensions of the surface material and the intended final position during installation. This makes the clamping frame particularly convenient to use.
[0017] Large-area sheet materials such as awnings, banners, or the like often have large vertical dimensions. According to another advantageous embodiment of the invention, fastening the upper edge of the sheet material at a great height can be avoided if, in one method step, an upper horizontal profile strip is moved to a predetermined installation height and, in a later method step, the upper horizontal profile strip is moved to a predetermined holding height. This design allows the upper edge of the sheet material to be fastened to the upper horizontal profile strip first after the latter has been moved to an installation height that is easily accessible for the user. Only in a later method step is the upper horizontal profile strip moved to the holding height at which the upper edge of the sheet material is ultimately to be held. This makes operation of the clamping frame particularly convenient.
[0018] According to another advantageous development of the invention, further quality control of the tensionable surface material is particularly simple if, after installation of the tensionable surface material, the profile strips are moved into end positions in which the surface material is fully tensioned. This allows a direct check to determine whether the piping has been attached to the tensionable surface material in accordance with the specified target dimensions, or whether a geometric deviation in the attachment of the piping to the tensionable surface material ultimately results in the tensionable surface material being clamped too loosely or too tightly. The geometric suitability of the tensionable surface material in the clamping frame is thus checked. The invention permits numerous embodiments. To further clarify its basic principle, one of these is shown in the drawing and is described below. This shows in

[0020] Fig. 1 a greatly enlarged sectional view of a portion of the clamping frame along the line la - la,
[0021] Fig. 2 the clamping frame from Figure 1 in a plan view,
[0022] Fig. 3 the clamping frame from Figure 1 in a side view,
[0023] Fig. 4 shows an enlarged portion of the clamping frame from Figure 1,
[0024] Fig. 5 shows the clamping frame from Figure 1 in a further representation,
[0025] Fig. 6 shows a method for operating the clamping frame.
[0026] Figure 1 shows a clamping frame 1 for holding a stretchable sheet material 2, shown in dash-dotted lines. The clamping frame 1 has several profile strips 3-6, which hold the sheet material 2 along its long sides. The clamping frame 1 also has angled profile strips 7-10, which hold the sheet material 2 at its corner areas. The profile strips 3-6 and the angled profile strips 7-10 are mounted on struts 11-14. The struts 11-14 are each connected to electrical drive means 15-18 and arranged in front of a light wall 19 with numerous lamps 20. In the embodiment shown, the drive means 15-18 are designed as linear drives, but can also have a roller or belt drive in an embodiment not shown. The lamps 20 and the drive means 15-18 are connected to a control device 21.
[0027] Horizontal struts 11, 12 can be moved vertically, and vertical struts 13, 14 can be moved horizontally together with the respective profile strips 3-6 by the drive means 15-18. The angled profile strips 7-10 are coupled to the horizontal struts 11, 12 and to the vertical struts 13, 14. By moving the struts 11-14, a frame with the dimensions of the surface material 2 can be spanned using the profile strips 3-10. For clarity, the possible movements of the struts 11-14 are marked with double arrows.
[0028] Figure 1a shows an enlarged sectional view through an angled profile strip 7 with the sheet material 2 attached to it. The sheet material 2, which can be any fabric or textile, has a circumferential piping 22 on its outer edge. The piping 22 is releasably fastened in a groove-shaped receptacle 23 of the angled profile strip 7. The profile strip 7 is arranged on the horizontal strut 11 so that it can be moved perpendicular to the plane of the drawing. To simplify the drawing, the components are shown schematically in the sectional view.
[0029] Figure 2 shows a top view of the clamping frame 1. Figure 3 shows a side view of the clamping frame 1. It can be seen that a light barrier 24 is arranged in front of the struts 11-14. The control device 21 stops the movement of the struts 11-14 upon manual intervention in the light barrier 24.
[0030] Figure 4 shows an enlarged view of the section of the clamping frame 1 from Figure 1 spanned by the profile strips 3-10. The straight profile strips 3-6 located between the angled profile strips 7-10 are detachably attached to the struts 11-14 and can be replaced or completely removed depending on the dimensions of the sheet material 2. The straight profile strips 3-6 are aligned with the angled profile strips 7-10.
[0031] Figure 5 shows the clamping frame 1 from Figure 1 in a position in which a particularly small-area sheet material 2' can be clamped. The angled profile strips 7 - 10 are pushed together in such a way that the straight profile strips 3 - 6 are moved from the aligned position shown in Figures 1 and 4 into a position retracted relative to the angled profile strips 7 - 10. Figure 6 schematically shows a method for operating the clamping frame 1. In step S1, the method is started by entering the dimensions of the sheet material 2, 2' into the control device 21. This input can be made using a barcode, via a control panel, or via a computer interface. In step S2, the struts 11 - 14 with the profile strips 3 - 10 move to a predetermined mounting height. At this mounting height, a user, comfortably standing on the floor, can attach the upper edge of the surface material 2, 2' to the upper horizontal profile strips 3.If necessary, the user can also replace the profile strips 3 in order to adapt the clamping frame 1 to the piping 22 used for the sheet material 2, 2' or to mount a different length of the profile strip 3. In this step S2, the vertical struts 13, 14 also move into intended positions in which the angled profile strips 7, 8 are moved into the upper corner areas of the sheet material 2, 2'. The user can also fasten the corner areas of the sheet material 2, 2' in this position. In step S3, the horizontal struts 11, 12 move into a position which corresponds to the intended holding height of the sheet material 2, 2'. This allows the user to fasten the lower edge of the sheet material 2, 2' to the lower horizontal profile strips 4. In each step S1 to S3, the struts 11 - 14 remain in their position at least as long as the user is detected by the light barrier 24.In step S4, the profile strips 3-10 are moved to end positions in which the sheet material 2, 2' is fully tensioned. Finally, in step S5, the illuminants 20 of the light wall 19 behind the profile strips 3-10 are controlled according to the dimensions of the sheet material 2, 2'. After the quality control is completed, the sheet material 2, 2' is removed from the clamping frame 1 by moving the clamping frame 1 to position S2. Afterward, either another sheet material 2, 2' with the same geometric dimensions can be clamped, or modified dimensions can be entered according to position S1.
