[0009] An embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. Note that in the drawings referred to below, the same or equivalent components are assigned the same numbers. In the following description, terms such as foot length direction, foot width direction, forward direction, and rearward direction are used. These directional terms indicate directions as seen from the perspective of a wearer wearing the shoe 1 placed on a flat contact surface P (see Figures 1 and 2 ), such as the ground. For example, forward refers to the toe side, and rearward refers to the heel side. Furthermore, the medial or inner foot side refers to the side of the first toe (big toe) in the foot width direction, and the lateral or outer foot side refers to the side of the fifth toe in the foot width direction.

[0010] Fig. 1 is a side view of a shoe according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, as viewed from the medial side of the foot. Fig. 2 is a side view of the shoe as viewed from the lateral side of the foot. Fig. 3 is a view of the shoe as viewed from the rear. Although Figs. 1 to 3 show a shoe 1 for a left foot, this shoe 1 can also be applied to a right foot. In this case, the shoe 1 for the right foot is formed to have a shape that is bilaterally symmetrical to the shoe 1 for the left foot, or a shape that is generally similar to that of the shoe 1 for the left foot.

[0011] The shoe 1 in this embodiment is suitable for running, for example, but can also be used as other sports shoes, and the use of the shoe 1 is not limited.

[0012] As shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, the shoe 1 includes a sole 10 and an upper 20 .

[0013] The sole 10 is configured to support the wearer's foot. The sole 10 includes a midsole 100 and an outsole 200.

[0014] The midsole 100 is configured to support the wearer's forefoot, midfoot, and rearfoot. The midsole 100 has functions such as cushioning when landing and rebound when kicking off. The midsole 100 is preferably formed from a resin or rubber that has adequate strength and excellent cushioning properties. The midsole 100 is made of, for example, a resin foam. The midsole 100 includes a heel support portion 110, a narrow portion 120, a wide portion 130, a rising portion 140, an upper bulge portion 152, a lower bulge portion 154, and a circumferential groove portion 156.

[0015] The heel support portion 110 is configured to support the heel of the wearer. The heel support portion 110 may be formed of a material different from that of the other portions of the midsole 100.

[0016] Narrow portion 120 is formed in front of heel support portion 110. As shown in Figure 5, the length of narrow portion 120 in the foot width direction is smaller than the length of the portion of midsole 100 that includes heel support portion 110 in the foot width direction.

[0017] The wide portion 130 is formed in front of the narrow portion 120. The length of the wide portion 130 in the foot width direction is greater than the length of the narrow portion 120 in the foot width direction.

[0018] As shown in Fig. 4, the standing portion 140 stands from the peripheral edge of the surface S1 of the sole 10. The standing portion 140 is continuously connected from the lateral side of the heel support portion 110, passing behind the heel support portion 110, to the medial side of the heel support portion 110. As shown in Figs. 1, 2, and 4, the standing portion 140 includes a medial inflection portion 142 and a lateral inflection portion 144.

[0019] The medial inflection part 142 is formed on the medial side of the heel support part 110. The medial inflection part 142 has an upwardly convex shape. The part of the standing part 140 in front of the medial inflection part 142 is gradually inclined toward the surface S1 of the sole 10 as it extends forward from the medial inflection part 142. The part of the standing part 140 behind the medial inflection part 142 may be gradually inclined toward the surface S1 of the sole 10 as it extends rearward from the medial inflection part 142, or may be formed to be substantially parallel to the ground surface P.

[0020] The lateral inflection part 144 is formed on the lateral side of the heel support part 110. The lateral inflection part 144 has an upwardly convex shape. The part of the standing part 140 in front of the lateral inflection part 144 is gradually inclined toward the surface S1 of the sole 10 as it extends forward from the lateral inflection part 144. The part of the standing part 140 behind the lateral inflection part 144 may be gradually inclined toward the surface S1 of the sole 10 as it extends rearward from the lateral inflection part 144, or may be formed to be substantially parallel to the ground surface P.

[0021] 1 and 2 , the medial inflection part 142 is located further forward in the foot length direction than the lateral inflection part 144. The height position of the medial inflection part 142 from the ground surface P is set higher than the height position of the lateral inflection part 144 from the ground surface P. However, the height position of the medial inflection part 142 may be set equal to or lower than the height position of the lateral inflection part 144.

[0022] The upper bulge 152 is formed on the outer peripheral surface S10 of the sole 10. In this embodiment, the outer peripheral surface S10 of the sole 10 is formed by the outer peripheral surface of the midsole 100. The upper bulge 152 bulges outward so as to be convex in a direction away from the heel support portion 110. The outer peripheral surface S10 includes an inner foot side outer peripheral surface S12 formed on the inner foot side of the heel support portion 110, an outer foot side outer peripheral surface S14 formed on the outer foot side of the heel support portion 110, and a rear outer peripheral surface S16 formed behind the heel support portion 110. The upper bulge 152 is continuously connected from the inner foot side outer peripheral surface S12 through the rear outer peripheral surface S16 to the outer foot side outer peripheral surface S14.

[0023] The lower bulge 154 is formed on the outer circumferential surface S10 of the sole below the upper bulge 152. The lower bulge 154 bulges outward in a convex manner in a direction away from the heel support portion 110. The lower bulge 154 is continuously connected from the medial outer circumferential surface S12, through the rear outer circumferential surface S16, to the lateral outer circumferential surface S14.

[0024] The circumferential groove 156 is formed in a region of the outer circumferential surface S10 of the sole 10 between the upper bulge 152 and the lower bulge 154. The circumferential groove 156 has a shape that convex toward the heel support portion 110. The circumferential groove 156 is continuously connected from the medial outer circumferential surface S12, through the rear outer circumferential surface S16, and to the lateral outer circumferential surface S14.

[0025] Here, the circumferential groove portion 156 is defined as follows. First, as shown in Figure 7, on a plane passing through the center 110P of the heel support portion 110, two points P1 and P2 are defined where a circle C1 with a radius of 5 mm, centered at the deepest part 156d of the circumferential groove portion 156, intersects with the midsole 100. Then, as shown in Figure 8, the shape of the circle C2 passing through the three points, the deepest part 156d and the two points P1 and P2, with a diameter D of 10 mm or less is defined as the circumferential groove portion 156. More specifically, the diameter D of the circle C2 is 4 mm or more and 10 mm or less.

[0026] The center 110P of the heel support portion 110 is located at a first length X from the intersection 15a of the rear of the boundary portion 15 and the heel center HC forward along the heel center HC. The first length X is preferably 10% to 30% of the length between the portions of the boundary portion 15 that intersect with the heel center HC or the shoe center SC, and more preferably 15% to 20%, and may be 10%, 15%, 20%, or 30%. The heel center HC refers to the straight line connecting the center of the calcaneus and the vicinity of the fourth toe of a typical wearer of the shoe 1.

[0027] As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the outer circumferential groove 156 has a medial fore end 156a (see FIG. 1) and a lateral fore end 156b (see FIG. 2). The medial fore end 156a is located at the front end of the outer circumferential groove 156 on the medial side. The lateral fore end 156b is located at the front end of the outer circumferential groove 156 on the lateral side. The outer circumferential groove 156 includes a region 156R in which the depth of the outer circumferential groove 156 gradually decreases toward the medial fore end 156a. This region 156R extends from the medial fore end 156a, through the rear end of the outer circumferential groove 156, toward the lateral fore end 156b. However, the region 156R does not reach the lateral fore end 156b. That is, the depth of the outer peripheral groove portion 156 becomes shallower from the outer foot side terminal end of the region 156A toward the outer foot side front end portion 156b.

[0028] As shown in Figure 3, the outer circumferential groove portion 156 has a shape that, when the shoe 1 is placed on a flat ground surface P, gradually moves away from the ground surface P from the outer foot side front end portion 156b toward the inner foot side front end portion 156a.

[0029] As shown in FIG. 1, the height H2 of the lower bulge 154 is greater than the height H1 of the upper bulge 152.

[0030] 3 and 6, the shoe 1 has a boundary 15 between the sole 10 and the upper 20. Note that the boundary 15 is indicated by a dashed line in Fig. 6. The amount of bulging W2 of the lower bulging portion 154 from the boundary 15 in a plan view (see Fig. 3) is greater than the amount of bulging W1 of the upper bulging portion 152 from the boundary 15 in a plan view (see Fig. 3).

[0031] 6 , the amount of bulging L1 of the medial outer peripheral surface S12 (lower bulging portion 154) from the boundary portion 15 in a plan view is greater than the amount of bulging L2 of the lateral outer peripheral surface S14 (lower bulging portion 154) from the boundary portion 15 in a plan view. For example, the amounts of bulging L1 and L2 are measured on a plane that is perpendicular to the heel center HC and passes through the center 110P of the heel support portion 110.

[0032] 6 , the amount of bulge L3 of the rear outer peripheral surface S16 from the boundary portion 15 in a plan view is greater than the amount of bulge L2 of the outer outer peripheral surface S14 from the boundary portion 15 in a plan view. For example, the amount of bulge L3 is measured on a plane passing through the shoe center SC or a plane passing through the heel center HC. The shoe center SC is not limited to the center line of the shoe 1, but may be a line that overlaps in the thickness direction of the sole 10 with a straight line passing through the center of the calcaneus and the space between the first and second toes of a typical wearer of the shoe 1.

[0033] As shown in FIG. 9 , a lower surface inclined groove 162 and a lower surface outer foot side groove 164 are formed on the lower surface of the midsole 100 .

[0034] The lower surface inclined groove 162 extends from a portion of the lower surface of the midsole 100 that is closer to the medial side of the rear end in the foot length direction toward the front and gradually toward the lateral side of the foot (the right side in FIG. 9 ).

[0035] The lower surface outer foot groove 164 extends forward from the lower surface inclined groove 162. The lower surface outer foot groove 164 is formed on the outer foot side of the shoe center SC.

[0036] The outsole 200 is connected to the lower surface of the midsole 100. The outsole 200 constitutes a ground contact part that is placed on the ground surface P. The outsole 200 is made of rubber, resin, or the like.

[0037] As shown in Fig. 9, the outsole 200 includes a medial foot side covering portion 210. Note that the medial foot side covering portion 210 is indicated by diagonal lines in Fig. 9. The medial foot side covering portion 210 covers a portion of the medial foot side of the lower surface of the midsole 100. The medial foot side covering portion 210 has a shape that extends continuously from the lower surface inclined groove 162 to the wide portion 130.

[0038] The upper 20 is connected to the sole 10. The upper 20, together with the sole 10, forms a space for accommodating the wearer's foot. The upper 20 covers the top surface of the wearer's foot. The upper 20 includes a front covering portion 21 and a reinforcing portion 22.

[0039] The front covering portion 21 is configured to cover the forefoot of the wearer.

[0040] The reinforcement part 22 has a tensile stiffness higher than that of the front covering part 21. The reinforcement part 22 includes an inner foot side reinforcement part 22a and an outer foot side reinforcement part 22b. The inner foot side reinforcement part 22a is disposed between the front covering part 21 and the inner foot side inflection part 142. The outer foot side reinforcement part 22b is disposed between the front covering part 21 and the outer foot side inflection part 144.

[0041] As described above, in the shoe 1 of this embodiment, the compression stiffness is relatively low in the portion of the sole 10 on the outer side of the foot, particularly around the heel support portion 110, and relatively high in the portion of the sole 10 on the inner side of the foot. This ensures cushioning and stability when the outer side of the foot touches the ground, and also suppresses the occurrence of pronation after touching the ground, for example, during running.

[0042] 10, the outer circumferential groove 156 may have a flat surface. In this case, the deepest part 156d is set at the midpoint of the flat surface in the height direction.

[0043] 11, the outer circumferential groove portion 156 may have a plurality of recessed portions 156e. In this case, among the circles C2 defined by the recessed portions 156e, the recessed portion 156e having the smallest diameter D constitutes the deepest portion 156d.

[0044] It will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that the exemplary embodiments described above are examples of aspects described below.

[0045] [Aspect 1] A shoe comprising: a sole that supports a wearer's foot; and an upper that is connected to the sole and that, together with the sole, accommodates the wearer's foot, wherein the sole includes: a heel support portion that supports the heel of the wearer; an upper bulge portion that is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the sole and bulges out convexly in a direction away from the heel support portion; a lower bulge portion that is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the sole below the upper bulge portion and bulges out convexly in a direction away from the heel support portion; and a peripheral groove portion that is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the sole in a region between the upper bulge portion and the lower bulge portion and has a shape that convexly extends toward the heel support portion, wherein the peripheral groove portion includes: an inner foot side front end portion located at the front end on the inner foot side of the outer peripheral groove portion; and an outer foot side front end portion located at the front end on the lateral foot side of the outer peripheral groove portion, wherein the outer peripheral groove portion includes a region where the depth of the outer peripheral groove portion gradually decreases toward the inner foot side front end portion.

[0046] In this shoe, the compression stiffness of the sole is relatively low in the area on the lateral side of the foot, particularly around the heel support, and relatively high in the area on the medial side of the sole, which ensures cushioning and stability when the lateral side of the foot strikes the ground and reduces the occurrence of pronation after landing, for example, during running.

[0047] [Aspect 2] The shoe according to Aspect 1, wherein the outer circumferential groove portion has a shape that gradually moves away from the ground surface from the outer foot side front end toward the inner foot side front end when the shoe is placed on a flat ground surface.

[0048] In this configuration, the volume of the lower bulge increases from the lateral side to the medial side, and the compressive rigidity of the lower bulge increases from the lateral side to the medial side, thereby further ensuring cushioning and stability on the lateral side of the foot at the beginning of foot contact during running, while further suppressing the occurrence of pronation.

[0049] [Aspect 3] The shoe according to aspect 1 or 2, wherein the amount of bulging of the lower bulging portion from the boundary between the sole and the upper in a plan view is greater than the amount of bulging of the upper bulging portion from the boundary in a plan view.

[0050] In this embodiment, the volume of the lower bulge, i.e., the volume of the portion farther from the heel support, is increased, which increases the moment around the axis of rotation of the wearer's foot, thereby further suppressing the occurrence of pronation.

[0051] [Aspect 4] A shoe according to any one of Aspects 1 to 3, wherein the outer peripheral surface of the sole includes an inner foot side outer peripheral surface formed on the inner foot side of the heel support portion, and an outer foot side outer peripheral surface formed on the outer foot side of the heel support portion, and the amount of bulging of the inner foot side outer peripheral surface from the boundary portion between the sole and the upper in a planar view is greater than the amount of bulging of the outer foot side outer peripheral surface from the boundary portion in a planar view.

[0052] In this embodiment, the moment around the rotation axis of the wearer's foot when the foot tilts inward is increased, thereby further suppressing the occurrence of pronation.

[0053] [Aspect 5] The shoe according to Aspect 4, wherein the outer peripheral surface of the sole further includes a rear outer peripheral surface formed rearward of the heel support portion, and the amount of bulging of the rear outer peripheral surface from the boundary portion in a plan view is greater than the amount of bulging of the outer foot side outer peripheral surface from the boundary portion in a plan view.

[0054] [Aspect 6] A shoe according to any one of Aspects 1 to 5, wherein the sole includes a raised portion that rises from the peripheral edge of the surface of the sole, the raised portion being continuously connected from the lateral side of the heel support portion, passing behind the heel support portion, to the medial side of the heel support portion, the raised portion including: a medial inflection portion formed on the medial side of the heel support portion and having an upwardly convex shape; and an lateral inflection portion formed on the lateral side of the heel support portion and having an upwardly convex shape, the most protruding part of the medial inflection portion being located forward of the most protruding part of the lateral inflection portion in the lengthwise direction of the foot.

[0055] In this embodiment, the wearer's foot is effectively supported by the part of the standing portion near the medial inflection part, thereby suppressing the occurrence of pronation.

[0056] [Aspect 7] The shoe described in Aspect 6, wherein the upper includes a front covering portion that covers the forefoot of the wearer, and a reinforcement portion having a tensile stiffness higher than that of the front covering portion, and the reinforcement portion includes an inner foot side reinforcement portion arranged between the front covering portion and the inner foot side inflection portion.

[0057] In this embodiment, the tensile rigidity of the portion of the upper between the front covering portion and the medial foot inflection portion is relatively high, so that pronation is further suppressed.

[0058] [Aspect 8] The shoe according to Aspect 7, wherein the reinforcing portion includes an outer foot side reinforcing portion disposed between the front covering portion and the outer foot side inflection portion.

[0059] a narrow portion formed in front of the heel support portion and having a length in the foot width direction smaller than the length of a portion of the midsole including the heel support portion in the foot width direction; and a wide portion formed in front of the narrow portion and having a length in the foot width direction larger than the length of the narrow portion in the foot width direction; a lower surface inclined groove formed in the lower surface of the midsole, the lower surface extending gradually toward the lateral side of the foot from a portion closer to the medial side of the rear end in the foot length direction toward the front; and the outsole including an inner foot side covering portion covering a portion of the inner foot side portion of the lower surface of the midsole, the inner foot side covering portion having a shape extending continuously from the lower surface inclined groove to the wide portion.

[0060] In this embodiment, the lower surface inclined groove prevents the load acting from the wearer's heel on the outer side of the foot at the rear of the midsole from being transmitted to the inner side of the foot when the foot touches the ground, and the rigidity of the portion of the midsole on the inner side of the foot that extends from the lower surface inclined groove to the widened portion is increased by the reinforcing effect of the inner foot side covering portion of the outsole, thereby preventing the occurrence of pronation.

[0061] It should be noted that the embodiments disclosed herein are illustrative in all respects and should not be considered limiting. The scope of the present invention is defined by the claims, not by the description of the above embodiments, and further includes all modifications within the meaning and scope of the claims.
