[0005] The shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure is not disclosed in Patent Documents 1 and 2. Therefore, an object of the present disclosure is to provide a shorts-type napkin that has excellent menstrual blood absorption properties and is less likely to leak menstrual blood.
[0006] The present inventors have proposed a shorts-type napkin comprising an absorbent main body having a longitudinal direction and a width direction, and an outer body, wherein the shorts-type napkin, in an unfolded state, has the longitudinal direction, the width direction, and a thickness direction having an inner side and an outer side, which are perpendicular to each other, and is partitioned into a ventral region located closer to the front end than the center of the longitudinal direction, and a dorsal region located closer to the rear end than the center of the longitudinal direction, and the absorbent main body comprises an absorbent core, a skin-side sheet having liquid permeability and located on the skin side of the absorbent core, and a liquid-impermeable sheet arranged on the non-skin side of the absorbent core, the absorbent main body having an oily component arrangement region in which an oily component is arranged on the skin-side sheet, and the shorts-type napkin having an elastic member arrangement region arranged on the non-skin side of the absorbent core and in which an elastic member is arranged in the longitudinal direction from the ventral region to the dorsal region, and in the unfolded state, the oily component arrangement region and the elastic member arrangement region overlap in the thickness direction.
[0007] The shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure has excellent absorbency for menstrual blood and is less susceptible to leakage of menstrual blood.

[0009] Specifically, the present disclosure relates to the following aspects: [Aspect 1] A shorts-type napkin comprising an absorbent main body having a longitudinal direction and a width direction, and an outer body, wherein the shorts-type napkin, in an unfolded state, has the longitudinal direction, the width direction, and a thickness direction having an inner side and an outer side, which are perpendicular to each other, and is partitioned into a ventral region located closer to the front end from the center of the longitudinal direction, and a dorsal region located closer to the rear end from the center of the longitudinal direction, the absorbent main body comprising an absorbent core, a liquid-permeable skin-side sheet located on the skin side of the absorbent core, and a liquid-impermeable sheet located on the non-skin side of the absorbent core, the absorbent main body having an oily component-disposing region in which an oily component is disposed on the skin-side sheet, the shorts-type napkin comprising an elastic member-disposing region located on the non-skin side of the absorbent core, and in which elastic members are arranged in the longitudinal direction from the ventral region to the dorsal region, and wherein the oily component-disposing region and the elastic member-disposing region overlap in the thickness direction in the unfolded state. A shorts-type napkin characterized by:
[0010] The inventors of the present application have found the following problems: - In a typical absorbent article placed inside shorts, the wearer's excretory opening and the top sheet of the absorbent article are in direct contact, as a rule, so menstrual blood is relatively likely to transfer from the top sheet to the absorbent core. - In a shorts-type napkin such as that disclosed in Patent Document 1, the wearer's excretory opening and the top sheet of the absorbent main body are likely to be separated, and for example, when the wearer is lying down, menstrual blood may not easily transfer from the top sheet to the absorbent core.
[0011] - When an oily component (blood slipping agent) as disclosed in Patent Document 2 is applied to the top sheet of a shorts-type napkin in order to increase the absorbency of the absorbent core, the excretion opening and the top sheet of the absorbent main body tend to separate easily, which can cause menstrual blood to flow along the surface of the top sheet rather than entering the inside of the top sheet, particularly in the early stages of wearing the napkin, leading to leakage (hereinafter sometimes referred to as "initial surface flow"). - Initial surface flow is unlikely to occur once a path has been created for menstrual blood to enter the absorbent core from the top sheet, but it is thought that this is due to the fact that, before this path is created, if no force such as body pressure is applied to the menstrual blood, depending on the posture, it is more likely that menstrual blood will slide down the surface of the top sheet rather than slide down into the inside of the top sheet.
[0012] In the above-mentioned shorts-type napkin, when unfolded, the oily component placement area and the elastic member placement area of the elastic member overlap in the thickness direction, which makes it easier for the elastic member to abut the absorbent body, and ultimately the absorbent core, against the wearer's excretory opening, making it easier for menstrual blood to slide from the top sheet to the absorbent core and making it less likely for menstrual blood to cause initial surface flow, thereby making it less likely for menstrual blood to leak.
[0013] Even if the top sheet does not have an oily component-disposing region, when a wearer puts on the shorts-type napkin and body pressure is applied to the shorts-type napkin, part of the oily component will migrate to the top sheet, allowing menstrual blood to slide from the top sheet to the absorbent core. As described above, the above shorts-type napkin has excellent menstrual blood absorption properties and is less likely to leak menstrual blood.
[0014] [Aspect 2] The shorts-type napkin according to Aspect 1, which does not contain a volatile cooling agent.
[0015] The shorts-type napkin does not contain a specific cooling agent, for example, in the top sheet, so that oily ingredients are less likely to inhibit menstrual blood from sliding down to the absorbent core, resulting in excellent menstrual blood absorption.Furthermore, it is possible to prevent volatile cooling agents from irritating the area around the excretory opening, which is sensitive during menstruation.
[0016] [Aspect 3] The shorts-type napkin according to aspect 1 or 2, wherein the total amount of the oily component in the ventral region is greater than the total amount of the oily component in the dorsal region.
[0017] In the above-mentioned shorts-type napkin, the total amount of oily component in the ventral region is greater than the total amount of oily component in the dorsal region. Therefore, in the ventral region, the oily component in the ventral region makes it easier for menstrual blood excreted from the excretory opening to slide from the top sheet to the absorbent core, and in the dorsal region, even if menstrual blood flows toward the buttocks due to an initial surface flow, the region free of oily component can suppress the initial surface flow and transfer the menstrual blood to the absorbent core, thereby preventing leakage.
[0018] [Aspect 4] The shorts-type napkin according to any one of Aspects 1 to 3, wherein the longitudinal length of the elastic member arrangement region in the back region is longer than the longitudinal length of the elastic member arrangement region in the ventral region.
[0019] In the above shorts-type napkin, the length of the elastic member-arranged region in the back region is longer than the length of the elastic member-arranged region in the ventral region, so that the elastic members in the ventral region are less likely to cause pain in the wearer's abdomen, and the elastic members in the back region allow the absorbent core to more easily conform to the intergluteal cleft of the wearer's buttocks, suppressing initial surface flow in the back region and reducing leakage.
[0020] [Aspect 5] The shorts-type napkin according to any one of Aspects 1 to 4, wherein the shorts-type napkin comprises a pair of leak-barriers having elastic regions extending in the longitudinal direction, and when viewed in a plan view from the width direction in the unfolded state, the oily component-distributing region is present within the elastic regions.
[0021] In the above-mentioned shorts-type napkin, the oily component distribution area is located within the elastic region of the leakage barrier, so even if an initial surface flow of menstrual blood occurs due to the oily component, the leakage barrier that stands up when worn can prevent menstrual blood from leaking outside the shorts-type napkin.
[0022] [Aspect 6] The shorts-type napkin according to any one of Aspects 1 to 5, wherein the shorts-type napkin comprises a pair of leak-barrier walls each having a leak-barrier wall elastic member extending in the longitudinal direction, and wherein, in a plan view in the unfolded state, the oily component-disposing region does not overlap with the leak-barrier wall elastic member.
[0023] In the above-mentioned shorts-type napkin, when viewed in a plan view in the unfolded state, the oily component placement area does not overlap with the leakage barrier elastic member that constitutes the leakage barrier, so that the oily component comes into contact with the leakage barrier elastic member, weakening the bond between the leakage barrier elastic member and the sheets that constitute the leakage barrier, thereby preventing the elasticity of the leakage barrier elastic member from weakening.
[0024] [Aspect 7] The shorts-type napkin according to any one of Aspects 1 to 6, wherein, in a plan view from the thickness direction in the unfolded state, the absorbent main body has extensions that extend outward from the exterior body at each of a pair of leg openings, and, in a plan view from the width direction in the unfolded state, the oily component distribution region and the extensions overlap.
[0025] In the above-mentioned shorts-type napkin, the absorbent main body has a predetermined extension portion. When a wearer wears the above-mentioned shorts-type napkin and walks or turns over in bed, the outer body tends to deform in accordance with the wearer's movements, but the extension portion of the absorbent main body tends not to deform in accordance with the wearer's movements.
[0026] In the above shorts-type napkin, the oily component-distributing region and the extending portion of the absorbent body overlap in a plan view from the width direction. Therefore, even if an initial surface flow of menstrual blood occurs in the width direction in the oily component-distributing region in the overlapping area, the extending portion can absorb the menstrual blood and prevent leakage of menstrual blood.
[0027] [Aspect 8] The shorts-type napkin according to any one of Aspects 1 to 7, wherein, in a plan view from the thickness direction in the unfolded state, the elastic member-arranged region extends to a position closer to the rear end than the oily component-arranged region, and the skin side sheet in the elastic member-arranged region that extends closer to the rear end than the oily component-arranged region contains a smaller amount of the oily component than the oily component-arranged region.
[0028] In shorts-type napkins, it tends to be difficult to fit the absorbent main body to the wearer's skin in the buttocks, particularly in the intergluteal cleft. In the above shorts-type napkin, the elastic member-arrangement region, which is located closer to the rear end than the oily component-arrangement region, i.e., the skin-side sheet in the rear elastic member-arrangement region, contains a smaller amount of oily component than in the oily component-arrangement region. In the rear elastic member-arrangement region, the presence of the elastic member makes it easier to fit the absorbent core to the buttocks, particularly the intergluteal cleft, and can reduce the initial surface flow of menstrual blood. Furthermore, since the rear elastic member-arrangement region contains a smaller amount of oily component than the oily component-arrangement region, it can make it less likely that initial surface flow of menstrual blood will occur rearward. As a result, the above shorts-type napkin can suppress rearward leakage.
[0029] [Aspect 9] The shorts-type napkin according to any one of Aspects 1 to 8, wherein, in a plan view in the thickness direction in the unfolded state, the elastic member-arranged region extends to a position closer to the front end than the oily component-arranged region, and the skin side sheet in the elastic member-arranged region that extends closer to the front end than the oily component-arranged region contains a smaller amount of the oily component than the oily component-arranged region.
[0030] In shorts-type napkins, it tends to be difficult to fit the absorbent main body to the wearer's skin in the front, for example, abdominal area. In the above shorts-type napkin, the elastic member arrangement region, which is located closer to the front end than the oily component arrangement region, i.e., the skin-side sheet in the front elastic member arrangement region, contains a smaller amount of oily component than the oily component arrangement region. In the above front elastic member arrangement region, the presence of the elastic member makes it easier to fit the absorbent core to the abdomen, and can reduce the initial surface flow of menstrual blood. Furthermore, since the front arrangement region contains a smaller amount of oily component than the oily component arrangement region, it is possible to make it less likely that an initial surface flow of menstrual blood will occur in the front. As a result, the above shorts-type napkin can suppress leakage in the front.
[0031] [Aspect 10] The shorts-type napkin according to any one of Aspects 1 to 9, wherein the shorts-type napkin has a pair of fastening parts that fasten the ventral region and the dorsal region, and in the dorsal region in the unfolded state, the edge of the oily component-disposing region closer to the rear end is positioned closer to the front end than the edges of the pair of fastening parts that are closer to the front end.
[0032] In the back region of the shorts-type napkin, the rear edge of the oily component-distributing region is positioned closer to the front edge than the front edges of the pair of fastening portions. Therefore, even if menstrual blood flows toward the buttocks due to initial surface flow, the initial surface flow can be suppressed in the region closer to the rear end than the oily component-distributing region, allowing the menstrual blood to be transferred to the absorbent core, thereby preventing leakage.
[0033] [Aspect 11] The shorts-type napkin according to any one of Aspects 1 to 10, wherein the shorts-type napkin comprises a pair of fastening parts that fasten the ventral region and the dorsal region, and in the ventral region in the unfolded state, the edge of the oily component-disposing region closer to the front end is positioned closer to the rear end than the edges of the pair of fastening parts that are closer to the rear end.
[0034] In the abdominal region of the shorts-type napkin, the front edge of the oily component-distributing region is positioned closer to the rear end than the rear edges of the pair of fastening parts. Therefore, even if menstrual blood flows toward the abdominal side due to an initial surface flow, the initial surface flow can be suppressed in the region closer to the front end than the oily component-distributing region, allowing the menstrual blood to transfer to the absorbent core and preventing leakage.
[0035] [Aspect 12] The shorts-type napkin according to any one of Aspects 1 to 11, wherein the absorbent core has a peaked part disposed in the center in the width direction, and when viewed in a plan view from the longitudinal direction in the unfolded state, the oily component-disposing region is disposed beyond the peaked part.
[0036] The above-mentioned shorts-type napkin has a predetermined central peak, which can be fitted to the excretory opening, the intergluteal cleft, etc., to absorb menstrual blood, and since the oily component placement region is positioned outward in the width direction beyond the central peak, menstrual blood that has not been absorbed by the central peak, menstrual blood that has initially flowed on the surface, etc. can be slid down to the absorbent core by the oily component positioned outward in the width direction beyond the central peak.
[0037] [Aspect 13] The shorts-type napkin according to any one of Aspects 1 to 12, wherein the absorbent core has a pair of constricted portions constricted in the width direction, and when viewed in a plan view from the longitudinal direction in the unfolded state, the oily component-distributing region is disposed within the range of the absorbent core at the pair of constricted portions.
[0038] In shorts-type napkins, the elastic members tend not to bring the absorbent core into contact with the wearer at the pair of constricted portions. In the above-mentioned shorts-type napkin, the oily component-disposed area is narrower than the absorbent core at the pair of constricted portions, so even if an initial surface flow of menstrual blood occurs at the pair of constricted portions, the area at the pair of constricted portions where no oily component is disposed allows the menstrual blood to slide down to the absorbent core.
[0039] [Aspect 14] The shorts-type napkin according to any one of Aspects 1 to 13, wherein the absorbent main body further includes a core wrap covering the absorbent core, and the core wrap is stacked in a plurality of layers at the center in the width direction.
[0040] The above-mentioned shorts-type napkin has a multi-layer overlapping region in the center of its width where multiple core wraps are stacked, so that the multi-layer overlapping region can fit around the wearer's excretory opening, intergluteal cleft, etc., and absorb menstrual blood.
[0041] [Aspect 15] The shorts-type napkin according to any one of Aspects 1 to 14, wherein in the ventral region, the outer casing comprises a multiple-sheet region composed of a plurality of sheets arranged toward the front end, and a single-sheet region composed of a single sheet arranged toward the rear end, and in the ventral region in the unfolded state, the oily component-disposed region overlaps with the single-sheet region in the thickness direction but does not overlap with the multiple-sheet region in the thickness direction.
[0042] In the above-mentioned shorts-type napkin, the oily ingredient-distributed region and the single-sheet region overlap in the thickness direction in the abdominal region when the napkin is unfolded. Therefore, in the single-sheet region, the oily ingredient slides menstrual blood down to the absorbent core, making it easier for the wearer to see the absorbent core stained red with menstrual blood from the non-skin side of the shorts-type napkin, giving the wearer a sense of security that the shorts-type napkin is absorbing menstrual blood. Furthermore, because the multiple-sheet region does not overlap with the oily ingredient-distributed region, menstrual blood is less likely to initially flow over the surface, thereby suppressing leakage.
[0043] [Aspect 16] The shorts-type napkin according to any one of Aspects 1 to 15, wherein in the back region, the outer casing comprises a single-sheet region consisting of a single sheet arranged toward the front end, and a multiple-sheet region consisting of a plurality of sheets arranged toward the rear end, and in the back region in the unfolded state, the oily component-disposed region overlaps with the single-sheet region and the multiple-sheet region in the thickness direction.
[0044] In the above-mentioned shorts-type napkin, in the back region in the unfolded state, the oily component region, the single-sheet region, and the multiple-sheet region overlap in the thickness direction, so that in both the single-sheet region and the multiple-sheet region, the oily component can slide menstrual blood down to the absorbent core, thereby preventing leakage.
[0045] Aspect 17: The shorts-type napkin according to any one of Aspects 1 to 16, wherein the outer cover includes rear leg-hole elastic members that are curved and arranged so as to pass through a pair of leg openings and overlap with the absorbent main body in the dorsal region, and when viewed from above in the thickness direction in the unfolded state, the oily component-arrangement region and the elastic member-arrangement region reach to a position closer to the rear end than the rear leg-hole elastic members.
[0046] In the above shorts-type napkin, the rear leg elastic members are arranged on the outer body, so that the napkin encases the wearer's buttocks when worn and the absorbent core can be closely fitted to the wearer's buttocks. Also, in the above shorts-type napkin, the oily component arrangement region extends to a position closer to the rear end than the rear leg elastic members.
[0047] Therefore, the oily component arranged up to a position near the rear end, together with the rear leg elastic members, suppresses the initial surface flow of menstrual blood while allowing menstrual blood to slide down into the absorbent core. Furthermore, the elastic member arrangement region extends further to the rear end than the rear leg elastic members. Therefore, the rear leg elastic members prevent the elastic members from pushing the absorbent core too far into the wearer's gluteal cleft, ensuring the width of the absorbent core and preventing leakage.
[0048] [Aspect 18] The shorts-type napkin according to any one of Aspects 1 to 17, wherein in the unfolded state, the outer body further comprises a rear-side elastic member in the rear region and in a region outside the width direction of the oily component-disposed region, the rear-side elastic member overlapping the absorbent core in the thickness direction and extending in the width direction.
[0049] The shorts-type napkin further includes a predetermined back elastic member, which allows the absorbent core to fit the wearer's skin in the oily component-disposing region, while ensuring the width of the absorbent core in the outer regions in the width direction of the oily component.
[0050] [Aspect 19] The shorts-type napkin according to any one of Aspects 1 to 18, wherein the absorbent core is partitioned into a widthwise central region located in the center of the widthwise direction and a pair of widthwise side regions located on both widthwise outer sides of the widthwise central region, and when viewed in a plan view from the longitudinal direction in the unfolded state, the oily component-disposing regions are present in the widthwise central region and the pair of widthwise side regions.
[0051] In the shorts-type napkin, the oily component-disposing region is disposed in the widthwise central region and the pair of widthwise side regions. Therefore, in the widthwise central region of the absorbent core, the elastic member enables the absorbent core to fit to the wearer's skin, and the oily component disposed in the pair of widthwise side regions allows menstrual blood that has leaked beyond the widthwise central region into the pair of widthwise side regions to slide down into the absorbent core.
[0052] Aspect 20: The shorts-type napkin according to any one of Aspects 1 to 19, wherein the absorbent core is partitioned into a widthwise central region located in the center of the widthwise direction and a pair of widthwise side regions located on both widthwise outer sides of the widthwise central region, and when viewed in a plan view from the longitudinal direction in the unfolded state, the absorbent core has folding points in the pair of widthwise side regions for folding the absorbent core in the widthwise direction.
[0053] In the shorts-type napkin, the absorbent core further has fold points in a pair of widthwise side regions, which makes it easier to fit the widthwise central region of the absorbent core around the wearer's excretory opening, buttocks, etc., and ultimately makes the shorts-type napkin more absorbent and less prone to leakage.
[0054] [Aspect 21] The shorts-type napkin according to any one of Aspects 1 to 20, wherein the absorbent core is partitioned into a widthwise central region located in the center of the widthwise direction and a pair of widthwise side regions located on both widthwise outer sides of the widthwise central region, and the shorts-type napkin comprises second elastic members located on the outer sides of the pair of widthwise side regions of the absorbent core and extending in the longitudinal direction from the ventral region to the dorsal region.
[0055] In the shorts-type napkin, the absorbent core is provided with a predetermined second elastic member, which allows the widthwise side regions of the absorbent core to fit the wearer's skin. As a result, the shorts-type napkin has excellent absorbency and is less likely to leak.
[0056] [Aspect 22] The shorts-type napkin according to any one of Aspects 1 to 21, wherein in the unfolded state and in the area overlapping with the absorbent core in the thickness direction, the liquid-impermeable sheet or the outer casing has a colored portion in a range closer to the front end or rear end than the oily component-disposed area.
[0057] Since the above-mentioned shorts-type napkin has a predetermined colored portion, the menstrual blood absorbed by the absorbent core can be hidden to a certain extent from the non-skin side of the shorts-type napkin in the areas near the front end and the rear end, making it less likely that the wearer will feel anxious about the possibility of menstrual blood leaking from the front or back of the shorts-type napkin.
[0058] [Aspect 23] The shorts-type napkin according to Aspect 22, wherein, in a plan view from the thickness direction in the unfolded state, the liquid-impermeable sheet and the outer casing do not have a colored portion in an area overlapping the oily component-disposed region.
[0059] Since the above-mentioned shorts-type napkin does not have a specified colored portion in the area overlapping with the oily component distribution area, it becomes easier for the wearer to visually recognize from the non-skin side of the shorts-type napkin that the absorbent core has absorbed menstrual blood, which makes it easier for the wearer to get the impression that the shorts-type napkin is absorbing menstrual blood well and is less likely to leak.
[0060] The shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure will be described in detail below. [First Embodiment] Figures 1 to 6 are diagrams illustrating a shorts-type napkin 1 according to one embodiment of the present disclosure (hereinafter referred to as the "first embodiment"). Specifically, Figure 1 is a perspective view of the shorts-type napkin 1. Figures 2 and 3 are diagrams of the inner and outer sides of the shorts-type napkin 1 in an unfolded state. Figures 4 and 5 are diagrams of the skin-side and non-skin-side sides of the absorbent main body 3 in an unfolded state, respectively. Figure 6 is an end view of the shorts-type napkin 1 taken along the line VI-VI in Figure 2. Note that the compressed portions 37 are omitted in Figure 6, and not all of the joining portions are shown.
[0061] The shorts-type napkin 1 has a waist opening 101 and a pair of leg openings 103 (one leg opening 103a and the other leg opening 103b), and a pair of fastening parts 105 (one fastening part 105a and the other fastening part 105b) extending from the waist opening 101 toward the pair of leg openings 103. The pair of fastening parts 105 fasten the ventral region 7 and the dorsal region 9, which will be described later.
[0062] The shorts-type napkin 1 comprises an absorbent body 3 that absorbs menstrual blood and a shorts-shaped exterior body 5. The absorbent body 3 has a rectangular shape with a longitudinal direction L and a width direction W. The absorbent body 3 and the exterior body 5 are fixed to the exterior body 5 by an inter-body joint 131 made of hot melt adhesive.
[0063] In its unfolded state, the shorts-type napkin 1 has a longitudinal direction L and a width direction W that originate from the absorbent main body 3, and a thickness direction T that is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction L and the width direction W. Note that the longitudinal direction L and the width direction W refer to the long and short directions of the absorbent main body 3, respectively, and do not refer to the long and short directions of the shorts-type napkin 1 in its unfolded state.
[0064] In its unfolded state, the shorts-type napkin 1 is divided by a longitudinal centerline LC extending in the width direction W at the center of the longitudinal direction L of the shorts-type napkin 1 into a ventral region 7 located closer to a front end 11 than the longitudinal centerline LC and a dorsal region 9 located closer to a rear end 13 than the longitudinal centerline LC. The front end 11 and rear end refer to the edge on the ventral region 7 side and the edge on the dorsal region 9 side, which define the waist opening 101, respectively.
[0065] The exterior body 5 includes a first exterior sheet 111 extending from the ventral region 7 to the dorsal region 9 and arranged on the non-skin side, a ventral-side second exterior sheet 113a extending into the ventral region 7 and arranged on the skin side, and a dorsal-side second exterior sheet 113b extending into the dorsal region 9 and arranged on the skin side. Each of the first exterior sheet 111, the ventral-side second exterior sheet 113a, and the dorsal-side second exterior sheet 113b is made of a hydrophobic nonwoven fabric.
[0066] The ventral-side second outer sheet 113a is disposed on the skin side of the first outer sheet 111 in the thickness direction T, and is disposed in the longitudinal direction L from the front end 11 that defines the waist-opening 101 to just before the longitudinal center line LC. In addition, the ventral-side second outer sheet 113a is disposed in the width direction W from one locking portion 105a to the other locking portion 105b.
[0067] The back-side second outer sheet 113b is disposed on the skin side of the first outer sheet 111 in the thickness direction T, and is disposed in the longitudinal direction L from the rear end 13 that defines the waist-opening 101 to just before the longitudinal center line LC. In addition, the back-side second outer sheet 113b is disposed in the width direction W from one locking portion 105a to the other locking portion 105b.
[0068] The first outer sheet 111 is folded inward at the front end 11 and the rear end 13, respectively, to cover the ventral-side second outer sheet 113a and the dorsal-side second outer sheet 113b. In the unfolded state, the outer body 5 is partitioned into a single-sheet region 51 consisting of a single sheet (i.e., the first outer sheet 111) and a multiple-sheet region 53 consisting of multiple sheets (i.e., the first outer sheet 111 and the ventral-side second outer sheet 113a or the dorsal-side second outer sheet 113b). The single-sheet region 51 is arranged from the ventral region 7 to the dorsal region 9, straddling the longitudinal centerline LC. The multiple-sheet region 53 is arranged in each of the ventral region 7 and the dorsal region 9.
[0069] In the unfolded state, in the multiple-sheet region 53 of the abdominal region 7, a plurality of abdominal-side elastic members 115 are arranged between the first outer sheet 111 and the abdominal-side second outer sheet 113a, extending from one engaging portion 105a to the other engaging portion 105b and spaced apart in the longitudinal direction L. The plurality of abdominal-side elastic members 115 are joined to the first outer sheet 111 and the abdominal-side second outer sheet 113a by an inter-outer-sheet adhesive layer (not shown) made of a hot melt adhesive in a state in which they are stretched relative to the first outer sheet 111 and the abdominal-side second outer sheet 113a.
[0070] In the unfolded state, in the multiple-sheet region 53 of the back region 9, a plurality of back-side elastic members 117 are arranged between the first outer sheet 111 and the back-side second outer sheet 113b, extending from one locking portion 105a to the other locking portion 105b or from one leg opening 103a to the other leg opening 103b, and spaced apart in the longitudinal direction L. In addition, in the unfolded state, the multiple-sheet region 53 of the back region 9 is provided with three rear leg elastic members 119 arranged between the first outer sheet 111 and the back-side second outer sheet 113b, extending from one locking portion 105a through one leg opening 103a and the other leg opening 103b to the other locking portion 105b, overlapping with the absorbent main body 3 and curved to protrude toward the longitudinal center line LC.
[0071] The multiple back elastic members 117 and the three rear leg elastic members 119 are joined to the first outer sheet 111 and the ventral second outer sheet 113a by inner outer sheet joints 133 made of hot melt adhesive while being stretched relative to the first outer sheet 111 and the back second outer sheet 113b.
[0072] The absorbent body 3 comprises, in the thickness direction T, a top sheet 21 having a skin-contacting surface 23a and a non-skin-contacting surface 23b, a second sheet 25, an absorbent core 27a, a liquid-impermeable sheet 29, an elastic member 31, and a hydrophobic nonwoven fabric sheet 35, in that order. The absorbent core 27a is arranged together with a core wrap 27b that covers the absorbent core 27a as an absorber 27. The absorbent core 27a is hourglass-shaped and has a pair of constricted portions 27c that are constricted in the width direction W.
[0073] The absorbent body 3 has a compression section 37 that compresses the top sheet 21, the second sheet 25, and the absorbent body 27 (absorbent core 27a and core wrap 27b), and the compression section 37 has a rabbit design. The core wrap 27b, which is disposed between the absorbent core 27a and the liquid-impermeable sheet 29, is joined to the absorbent core 27a by an adhesive layer (not shown) made of hot-melt adhesive. In addition, the core wrap 27b, which is disposed between the absorbent core 27a and the liquid-impermeable sheet 29, is joined to the liquid-impermeable sheet 29 by a core wrap joining section 135 made of hot-melt adhesive.
[0074] The absorbent core 27a has a peaked portion 39 extending in the longitudinal direction L at the center in the width direction W. The peaked portion 39 is taller and has a larger basis weight than the remaining portions of the absorbent core 27a. This makes it easier for the peaked portion 39 of the absorbent core 27a to abut against the wearer's excretory opening, intergluteal cleft, etc. The core wrap 27b is folded inward in three along two fold lines extending parallel to the longitudinal direction L to cover the absorbent core 27a. At the skin side of the absorbent core 27a and at the center in the width direction W, the core wrap 27b overlaps two layers in the thickness direction T and has a multi-layer overlap region 55 extending in the longitudinal direction L.
[0075] The top sheet 21 is arranged to cover the second sheet 25 and absorber 27 (absorbent core 27a and core wrap 27b), and is joined to the liquid-impermeable sheet 29 with a hot melt adhesive. The liquid-impermeable sheet 29 is made of a moisture-permeable perforated film. The liquid-impermeable sheet 29 stands up together with leakage barriers 43 (described below) and protects the sides of the liquid-impermeable sheet 29. The hydrophobic nonwoven fabric sheet 35 is made of a hydrophobic nonwoven fabric.
[0076] The elastic member 31 is composed of five thread-like elastic members, and the five thread-like elastic members define an elastic member distribution region 33. The five thread-like elastic members are arranged along the longitudinal direction L, extending from the multiple-sheet region 53 in the ventral region 7, through the single-sheet region 51 in the ventral region 7 and the single-sheet region 51 in the dorsal region 9, and to the multiple-sheet region 53 in the dorsal region 9. The five thread-like elastic members constituting the elastic member 31 are arranged at regular intervals in the width direction W. The elastic member 31 is joined to the liquid-impermeable sheet 29 and the hydrophobic nonwoven fabric sheet 35 by inter-film nonwoven fabric joints 137 made of a hot melt adhesive, with the five thread-like elastic members stretched relative to the liquid-impermeable sheet 29 and the hydrophobic nonwoven fabric sheet 35. The elastic member 31 is a member that facilitates contact of the absorbent main body 3, and therefore the absorbent core 27a, with the wearer's excretory opening.
[0077] In Figure 6, the elastic member 31 is shown as being arranged on the liquid-impermeable sheet 29 side, and the film-to-nonwoven fabric joint 137 is shown as being arranged on the hydrophobic nonwoven fabric sheet 35 side, but in reality, the film-to-nonwoven fabric joint 137 bonds the elastic member 31 from the liquid-impermeable sheet 29 side and the hydrophobic nonwoven fabric sheet 35 side.
[0078] The absorbent core 27a is partitioned into a widthwise central region 63 located in the center of the width direction W of the absorbent core 27a, and a pair of widthwise side regions 65 located on both sides of the widthwise central region 63 in the width direction W. The five thread-like elastic members that make up the elastic member 31 are located in the widthwise central region 63. The oily component-locating region 41 is also located in the widthwise central region 63.
[0079] At each end of the width direction W of the hydrophobic nonwoven fabric sheet 35, the sheet is folded twice, once inward and once away from the skin, along two fold lines extending parallel to the longitudinal direction L to form leakage barrier walls 43, and a pair of leakage barrier walls 43 is formed at each end of the width direction W of the hydrophobic nonwoven fabric sheet 35. Each of the pair of leakage barrier walls 43 includes two leakage barrier wall elastic members 45 that, in the unfolded state, extend in the longitudinal direction L from the multiple-sheet region 53 in the ventral region 7, through the single-sheet region 51 in the ventral region 7 and the dorsal region 9, to the multiple-sheet region 53 in the dorsal region 9. Each of the two leakage barrier wall elastic members 45 is joined to the leakage barrier wall 43 (hydrophobic nonwoven fabric sheet 35) with a hot-melt adhesive while being stretched relative to the leakage barrier wall 43 (hydrophobic nonwoven fabric sheet 35). In each of the pair of leakage barrier walls 43, two leakage barrier elastic members 45 are joined to the leakage barrier wall 43 (hydrophobic nonwoven fabric sheet 35), and the region exhibiting stretchability is referred to as an elastic region 47. The pair of leakage barrier walls 43 are made of the hydrophobic nonwoven fabric that forms the hydrophobic nonwoven fabric sheet 35, and are hydrophobic, and when worn, stand up from the absorbent main body 3 to suppress leakage of menstrual blood.
[0080] The absorbent main body 3 has an oily component-disposed region 41 in which an oily component is disposed, which is disposed on the non-skin contacting surface 23b of the top sheet 21. In the unfolded state, the oily component-disposed region 41 and the elastic member-disposed region 33 of the elastic member 31 overlap in the thickness direction T. Furthermore, in the unfolded state, of the five thread-like elastic members that make up the elastic member 31, the central three overlap with the oily component-disposed region 41 in the thickness direction T. This makes it easier to bring the absorbent core 27a into contact with the wearer's excretory opening, making it easier for menstrual blood to slide from the top sheet 21 to the absorbent core 27a, and also making it less likely for menstrual blood to cause an initial surface flow, thereby reducing the likelihood of menstrual blood leakage.
[0081] In the unfolded state, the oily component-disposing region 41 and the elastic member-disposing region 33 reach a position closer to the rear end 13 than the rear leg elastic members 119 arranged on the outer casing 5. As a result, the oily component arranged up to a position closer to the rear end 13, together with the rear leg elastic members 119, suppresses the initial surface flow of menstrual blood, allowing the menstrual blood to slide down into the absorbent core 27a. Furthermore, the rear leg elastic members 119 prevent the elastic members 31 from causing the absorbent core 27a to penetrate too far into the wearer's gluteal cleft, ensuring the length of the absorbent core 27a in the width direction W, and suppressing leakage.
[0082] In the oily component-distributing region 41, the oily component is applied with a substantially uniform basis weight, and the area of the oily component-distributing region in the ventral region 7 is larger than the area of the oily component-distributing region in the dorsal region 9. Therefore, the total amount of oily component in the ventral region 7 is larger than the total amount of oily component in the dorsal region 9. As a result, in the ventral region 7, the oily component in the ventral region 7 makes it easier for menstrual blood excreted from the excretory opening to slide from the top sheet 21 to the absorbent core 27a. Furthermore, in the dorsal region 9, even if menstrual blood flows toward the buttocks due to initial surface flow, the initial surface flow can be suppressed in the region without oily component, allowing the menstrual blood to transfer to the absorbent core 27a and preventing leakage.
[0083] The length (no reference symbol) in the longitudinal direction L of the elastic member arrangement region 33 in the back region 9 is longer than the length (no reference symbol) in the longitudinal direction L of the elastic member arrangement region 33 in the ventral region 7. As a result, in the ventral region 7, the elastic members 31 are less likely to cause pain in the wearer's abdomen, and in the back region 9, the elastic members 31 make it easier for the absorbent core 27a to conform to the intergluteal cleft of the wearer's buttocks, thereby suppressing initial surface flow in the back region 9 and making leakage less likely to occur.
[0084] In a plan view from the width direction W in the unfolded state (i.e., when the absorbent main body 3 in Fig. 4 is observed from the left or right side), the oily component distribution region 41 is present within the elastic regions 47 of the pair of leakage preventing walls 43. As a result, even if an initial surface flow of menstrual blood occurs due to the oily component, the leakage preventing walls 43 that stand up when worn can prevent menstrual blood from leaking outside the shorts-type napkin 1.
[0085] In the unfolded state, the elastic member-arranging region 33 extends to a position closer to the rear end 13 than the oily component-arranging region 41, and the elastic member-arranging region 33 positioned closer to the rear end 13 than the oily component-arranging region 41 is referred to as the rear elastic member-arranging region 33a. The top sheet 21 does not contain an oily component in the rear elastic member-arranging region 33a. This makes it easier to fit the absorbent core 27a to the buttocks, particularly the intergluteal cleft, and reduces the initial surface flow of menstrual blood, particularly the initial surface flow to the rear.
[0086] In the unfolded state, the elastic member-arranging region 33 extends to a position closer to the front end 11 than the oily component-arranging region 41, and the elastic member-arranging region 33 positioned closer to the front end 11 than the oily component-arranging region 41 is referred to as the front elastic member-arranging region 33b. The top sheet 21 does not contain the oily component in the front elastic member-arranging region 33b. This makes it easier to fit the absorbent core 27a to the abdomen and reduces the initial surface flow of menstrual blood, particularly the surface flow toward the front.
[0087] In the unfolded state, the absorbent main body 3 is provided with an extension portion 61 at each of a pair of leg openings 103 (one leg opening 103a and the other leg opening 103b) that extends outward in the width direction W beyond the outer casing 5, thereby constituting a pair of extension portions 61. In a plan view from the width direction W in the unfolded state (i.e., when the shorts-type napkin 1 in FIG. 2 is observed from the left or right side), the oily component distribution region 41 and each of the pair of extension portions 61 overlap. Specifically, in a plan view from the width direction W in the unfolded state, each of the pair of extension portions 61 is present within the oily component distribution region 41. As a result, even if an initial surface flow of menstrual blood occurs in the width direction W, the pair of extension portions 61 can absorb the menstrual blood and prevent leakage of menstrual blood.
[0088] In the back region 9 in the unfolded state, the oily component-disposing region 41 overlaps with the single-sheet region 51 and the multiple-sheet region 53 in the thickness direction T. This allows the oily component to slide menstrual blood down to the absorbent core 27a in both the single-sheet region 51 and the multiple-sheet region 53, thereby suppressing leakage.
[0089] In the back region 9 in the unfolded state, the edge (not numbered) of the oily component-disposing region 41 near the rear end 13 is located closer to the front end 11 than the edges (not numbered) of the pair of fastening portions 105 near the front end 11. As a result, even if menstrual blood flows toward the buttocks due to initial surface flow, the initial surface flow can be suppressed in the region closer to the rear end 13 than the oily component-disposing region 41, and the menstrual blood can be transferred to the absorbent core 27a.
[0090] In the abdominal region 7 in the unfolded state, the oily component-distributing region 41 overlaps with the single-sheet region 51 in the thickness direction T, but does not overlap with the multiple-sheet region 53 in the thickness direction T. As a result, in the single-sheet region 51, the oily component causes menstrual blood to slide down to the absorbent core 27a, allowing the wearer to visually see the absorbent core 27a stained red by menstrual blood. Furthermore, because the multiple-sheet region 53 does not overlap with the oily component-distributing region 41, menstrual blood is less likely to initially flow over the surface, thereby suppressing leakage.
[0091] In the abdominal region 7 in the unfolded state, the edge (not numbered) of the oily component-disposing region 41 closer to the front end 11 is located closer to the rear end 13 than the edges (not numbered) of the pair of fastening portions 105 closer to the rear end 13. As a result, even if menstrual blood flows toward the abdominal side due to the initial surface flow, the initial surface flow can be suppressed in the region closer to the front end 11 than the oily component-disposing region 41, and the menstrual blood can be transferred to the absorbent core 27a.
[0092] In a plan view from the longitudinal direction L in the unfolded state (i.e., the perspective of Figure 6), the oily component-disposing region 41 is disposed beyond the central peak 39 of the absorbent core 27a. This allows menstrual blood that has not been absorbed by the central peak 39, menstrual blood that has initially flowed on the surface, and the like, to slide down to the absorbent core by the oily component disposed outside in the width direction W beyond the central peak 39. Furthermore, the core wrap 27b has a multi-layer overlap region 55 in the center in the width direction W, where multiple core wraps 27b are layered, and therefore the multi-layer overlap region 55 can be fitted to the wearer's excretory opening, intergluteal cleft, etc., to absorb menstrual blood.
[0093] In a plan view from the longitudinal direction L in the unfolded state (i.e., when the absorbent main body 3 in Fig. 4 is observed from above or below), the oily component-disposing region 41 is disposed within the range of the absorbent core 27a at the pair of constricted portions 27c. As a result, even if an initial surface flow of menstrual blood occurs at the pair of constricted portions 27c, the region of the pair of constricted portions 27c where no oily component is disposed allows the menstrual blood to slide down to the absorbent core.
[0094] In a plan view in the unfolded state, the oily component placement region 41 does not overlap with the leakage preventing wall elastic member 45 provided on each of the pair of leakage preventing walls 43. This prevents the oily component from coming into contact with the leakage preventing wall elastic member 45, weakening the bond between the sheets that make up the leakage preventing wall elastic member 45 and the leakage preventing wall 43, and reducing the elasticity of the leakage preventing wall elastic member 45.
[0095] In the unfolded state, the exterior body 5 is provided with a back elastic member 117 and a rear leg elastic member 119 in the back region 9 and in a region outside the oily component-disposing region 41 in the width direction W, which overlap the absorbent core 27a in the thickness direction T and extend in the direction along the width direction W. This allows the shorts-type napkin 1 to fit the wearer, particularly the buttocks.
[0096] The shorts-type napkin 1 according to the first embodiment does not contain a volatile cooling agent. This makes it difficult for oily ingredients to inhibit menstrual blood from sliding down into the absorbent core 27a, resulting in excellent menstrual blood absorption. Furthermore, the volatile cooling agent is prevented from irritating the area around the excretory opening, which is sensitive to menstrual stress.
[0097] [Second embodiment] Fig. 7 is a diagram illustrating a shorts-type napkin according to another embodiment of the present disclosure (hereinafter referred to as "second embodiment"). Specifically, Fig. 7 is a diagram corresponding to Fig. 4 of the first embodiment. The outer casing of the shorts-type napkin according to the second embodiment is similar to the outer casing 5 of the shorts-type napkin 1 according to the first embodiment, so its description will be omitted. The absorbent main body 3 of the shorts-type napkin according to the second embodiment will be described mainly focusing on the differences from the absorbent main body 3 of the shorts-type napkin according to the first embodiment.
[0098] In the shorts-type napkin 1 according to the second embodiment, the absorbent main body 3 has an oily component-disposing region 41, in which an oily component is disposed, located on the non-skin-contacting surface (not shown) of the top sheet 21. In the shorts-type napkin 1, in a plan view in the longitudinal direction L in an unfolded state, the elastic members 31 are disposed in the widthwise central region 63, and the oily component-disposing region 41 is present in the widthwise central region 63 and a pair of widthwise side regions 65. As a result, in the widthwise central region 63 of the absorbent core 27a, the elastic members 31 enable the absorbent core 27a to fit to the wearer's skin, and the oily components disposed in the pair of widthwise side regions 65 can slide down into the absorbent core 27a when menstrual blood leaks beyond the widthwise central region 63 into the pair of widthwise side regions 65.
[0099] [Third embodiment] Fig. 8 is a diagram illustrating a shorts-type napkin according to yet another embodiment of the present disclosure (hereinafter referred to as the "third embodiment"). Specifically, Fig. 8 is a diagram corresponding to Fig. 4 of the first embodiment. The outer casing of the shorts-type napkin according to the third embodiment is similar to the outer casing 5 of the shorts-type napkin 1 according to the first embodiment, so its description will be omitted. The absorbent main body 3 of the shorts-type napkin according to the third embodiment will be described mainly with reference to the differences from the absorbent main body 3 of the shorts-type napkin according to the first embodiment.
[0100] In the shorts-type napkin 1 according to the third embodiment, the absorbent main body 3 has an oily component placement region 41 in which an oily component is placed, which is disposed on the non-skin contact surface (not shown) of the top sheet 21. In the shorts-type napkin 1, the absorbent core 27a is partitioned into a widthwise central region 63 and a pair of widthwise side regions 65 disposed outside the widthwise central region 63. In the shorts-type napkin 1 according to the third embodiment, the absorbent main body 3 has seven thread-like elastic members. Of the seven thread-like elastic members, the central five thread-like elastic members are disposed in the widthwise central region 63 and form the elastic member 31. In addition, the central five thread-like elastic members that form the elastic member 31 define the elastic member placement region 33. Of the seven thread-like elastic members, a total of two thread-like elastic members at both ends are disposed in each of the pair of widthwise side regions 65 and form the second elastic members 71.
[0101] The seven thread-like elastic members (elastic members 31 and second elastic members 71) are arranged so as to extend along the longitudinal direction L from the multiple-sheet region 53 in the ventral region 7, through the single-sheet region 51 in the ventral region 7 and the single-sheet region 51 in the dorsal region 9, to the multiple-sheet region 53 in the dorsal region 9. The seven thread-like elastic members are also arranged at regular intervals in the width direction W. The seven thread-like elastic members are joined to the liquid-impermeable sheet 29 and the hydrophobic nonwoven fabric sheet 35 with a hot-melt adhesive while being stretched relative to the liquid-impermeable sheet 29 and the hydrophobic nonwoven fabric sheet 35.
[0102] The absorbent body 3 has second elastic members arranged in a pair of widthwise side regions 65, so that the pair of widthwise side regions 65 of the absorbent core 27a can fit to the wearer's skin.
[0103] The absorbent body 3 also has compression sections 37 that compress the top sheet 21, second sheet, and absorbent body 27 (absorbent core 27a and core wrap 27b), and the compression sections 37 have a rabbit design. The compression sections 37 are arranged in a widthwise central region 63 and a pair of widthwise side regions 65. This makes it easier to fit the widthwise central region of the absorbent core to the excretory opening, buttocks, etc. of the wearer.
[0104] The shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure is not particularly limited as long as it comprises an absorbent main body and an outer body, and may also comprise components other than the absorbent main body and outer body. The shorts-type napkin generally comprises a waist opening and a pair of leg openings (one leg opening and the other leg opening). The shorts-type napkin may have a pair of fastening portions (one fastening portion and the other fastening portion) that fasten the ventral region and the dorsal region. The pair of fastening portions may be openable or closed, or may be non-openable by fusion or the like. The shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure may, for example, have a waist opening made of a single member and not have a pair of fastening portions.
[0105] The absorbent main body has a longitudinal direction and a width direction, and the shorts-type napkin, in its unfolded state, has a longitudinal direction and a width direction of the absorbent main body and a thickness direction perpendicular to the longitudinal and width directions. Note that the longitudinal direction and width direction used in relation to shorts-type napkins refer to the longitudinal direction and width direction of the absorbent main body, and do not refer to the long and short directions of the shorts-type napkin. Furthermore, in this specification, when the longitudinal direction, width direction, and / or thickness direction are simply referred to, they refer to the longitudinal direction, width direction, and / or thickness direction defined in relation to the shorts-type napkin described above.
[0106] In this specification, the "unfolded state" of a shorts-type napkin means a state in which the boundary between the ventral and dorsal regions of the shorts-type napkin, for example, a pair of fastening parts, is released as necessary, and the material (e.g., nonwoven fabric) that makes up the shorts-type napkin is stretched to a degree that does not cause it to break, thereby spreading the shorts-type napkin out on a flat surface. Also, in this specification, the unfolded state of a shorts-type napkin may sometimes be simply referred to as the "unfolded state."
[0107] In its unfolded state, the shorts-type napkin is divided into a ventral region located closer to the front end than the longitudinal center and a dorsal region located closer to the rear end than the longitudinal center. The front end and rear end refer to the edges of the ventral region and the dorsal region, respectively, which define the waist opening.
[0108] The absorbent body includes an absorbent core, a liquid-permeable skin-side sheet disposed on the skin side of the absorbent core, and a liquid-impermeable sheet disposed on the non-skin side of the absorbent core. The absorbent body generally includes a liquid-permeable sheet (hereinafter referred to as the "top sheet") having a skin-contacting surface, and may optionally further include a liquid-diffusion sheet (hereinafter referred to as the "second sheet") disposed between the top sheet and the absorbent core, a liquid-diffusion sheet (hereinafter referred to as the "third sheet") disposed between the absorbent core and the liquid-impermeable sheet, or a sheet (e.g., a nonwoven fabric sheet, e.g., a hydrophobic nonwoven fabric sheet) disposed on the non-skin side of the liquid-impermeable sheet. The absorbent core may or may not have a pair of narrowed portions constricted in the width direction. The absorbent core may be disposed in the absorbent body as an absorber together with a core wrap covering the absorbent core.
[0109] The absorbent core can be divided into a widthwise central region located at the center of the absorbent core width and a pair of widthwise side regions located on both widthwise outer sides of the widthwise central region. The widthwise central region refers to the central 70% of the region in the width direction excluding the pair of constricted portions, and each of the pair of widthwise side regions refers to the outer 15% of the region in the width direction of the widthwise central region.
[0110] The shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure includes elastic members disposed on the non-skin side of the absorbent core and extending longitudinally from the ventral region to the dorsal region. The region defined by the elastic members is referred to as the "elastic member-disposing region." The elastic members may be composed of one or more linear elastic members (e.g., thread-like elastic members) or planar elastic members (e.g., stretchable nonwoven fabrics).
[0111] In this specification, "inner" and "outer" mean the direction toward the wearer's skin side and the direction away from the wearer's skin side, respectively, when viewed from the object, and in the unfolded state of the shorts-type napkin, the inner and outer sides coincide with the thickness direction. In this specification, "skin side" and "away from the skin side" mean the direction toward the wearer's skin side and the side away from the wearer's skin side, respectively, when viewed from the object. In this specification, "inner" and "outer" mean "inner side in the width direction" and "outer side in the width direction," respectively, unless otherwise specified.
[0112] When the elastic member is composed of a plurality of linear elastic members, the linear elastic members may have the same or different lengths in the longitudinal direction, and may be arranged at the same pitch in the width direction or at different pitches in the width direction.
[0113] The elastic member is disposed within the widthwise central region in a plan view in the unfolded state. The position of the elastic member in the thickness direction is not particularly limited as long as it is disposed on the non-skin side of the absorbent core, and examples thereof include between the absorbent core and the core wrap, between the core wrap and the liquid-impermeable sheet, between the liquid-impermeable sheet and a sheet (e.g., a nonwoven fabric sheet, e.g., a hydrophobic nonwoven fabric sheet) constituting the absorbent main body disposed on the non-skin side thereof, between the absorbent main body and the exterior sheet, and between two sheets (e.g., nonwoven fabric sheets, e.g., hydrophobic nonwoven fabric sheets) constituting the exterior sheet.
[0114] From the viewpoint of facilitating contact of the absorbent main body, and therefore the absorbent core, with the excretory opening of the wearer, the elastic member can be joined to the adjacent sheet in the thickness direction at a stretching ratio of preferably 1.1 or more, more preferably 1.5 or more, and even more preferably 2.0 or more relative to the adjacent sheet in the thickness direction. Also, from the above viewpoint, the elastic member can be joined to the adjacent sheet in the thickness direction at a stretching ratio of preferably 3.5 or less, more preferably 3.2 or less, and even more preferably 3.0 or less relative to the adjacent sheet in the thickness direction.
[0115] The absorbent main body has an oily component-disposing region in which an oily component is disposed in a liquid-permeable skin-side sheet. Examples of the skin-side sheet include a top sheet, a second sheet, and a core wrap disposed on the skin side of the absorbent core. From the viewpoint of allowing the oily component to act quickly on menstrual blood that has reached the absorbent main body, the oily component-disposing region is preferably disposed on the skin-contacting surface, interior, or non-skin-contacting surface of the top sheet, more preferably on the skin-contacting surface or interior, and even more preferably on the skin-contacting surface. From the viewpoint of preventing contamination of the oily component on a shorts-type napkin production line and contamination of other shorts-type napkins with the oily component, the oily component-disposing region is preferably disposed on the interior or non-skin-contacting surface of the top sheet, the second sheet, or the core wrap, more preferably on the non-skin-contacting surface of the top sheet, the second sheet, or the core wrap.
[0116] In the oily component distribution region, the oily component is preferably 0.01 g / m from the viewpoint of its action. 2 More preferably, 0.1 g / m 2 More preferably, 0.5 g / m 2 In addition, in the oily component placement region, the oily component is preferably placed at a basis weight of 20 g / m or more from the viewpoint of its action. 2 or less, more preferably 10 g / m 2 less than, and more preferably 5 g / m 2 Arranged at the following basis weights:
[0117] In the deployed state, the oily component-disposing region and the elastic member-disposing region overlap in the thickness direction, which makes it easier for the elastic members to bring the absorbent main body, and ultimately the absorbent core, into contact with the wearer's excretory opening, making it easier for menstrual blood to slide from the top sheet to the absorbent core and less likely for menstrual blood to initially flow over the surface, thereby reducing the likelihood of menstrual blood leakage.
[0118] In the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure, the total amount of oily components in the ventral region is preferably greater than the total amount of oily components in the dorsal region, more preferably by at least 1.1 times, and even more preferably by at least 1.3 times. Furthermore, the total amount of oily components in the ventral region is preferably greater than the total amount of oily components in the dorsal region by at most 3.0 times, and more preferably at most 2.0 times. As a result, in the ventral region, the oily components in the ventral region facilitate the menstrual blood excreted from the excretory opening to slide from the top sheet to the absorbent core, and in the dorsal region, even if menstrual blood flows toward the buttocks due to initial surface flow, the region free of oily components can suppress the initial surface flow, allowing the menstrual blood to be transferred to the absorbent core and preventing leakage.
[0119] In the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure, the longitudinal length of the elastic member-arrangement region in the back region is preferably longer than the longitudinal length of the elastic member-arrangement region in the ventral region, more preferably at least 1.1 times, even more preferably at least 1.5 times, and even more preferably at least 1.9 times. Furthermore, the longitudinal length of the elastic member-arrangement region in the back region is preferably no more than 5.0 times, more preferably no more than 4.0 times, and even more preferably no more than 3.0 times, compared to the longitudinal length of the elastic member-arrangement region in the ventral region. This reduces the risk of pain in the wearer's abdomen in the ventral region, and allows the elastic members in the back region to more easily conform to the intergluteal cleft of the wearer's buttocks, thereby suppressing initial surface flow in the back region and reducing leakage.
[0120] The shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure may optionally include a pair of leak-barrier walls. Each of the pair of leak-barrier walls may have an elastic region extending in the longitudinal direction. The elastic region may be formed, for example, by a leak-barrier elastic member. Examples of the leak-barrier elastic member include the thread-like elastic members and planar elastic members described above. The elastic region may be formed by fixing the leak-barrier elastic member to the member constituting the leak-barrier wall with a hot-melt adhesive or the like while the leak-barrier elastic member is stretched relative to the member constituting the leak-barrier wall.
[0121] When the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure has a pair of leak-barrier walls, in a plan view in the width direction in the unfolded state, the oily component-distributing region may or may not be present within the elastic region, but it is preferably present within the elastic region of one of the pair of leak-barrier walls, and more preferably within the elastic regions of both of the pair of leak-barrier walls, so that even if an initial surface flow of menstrual blood occurs due to the oily component, the leak-barrier walls that stand up when worn can prevent menstrual blood from leaking out of the shorts-type napkin.
[0122] When the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure has a pair of leak barrier walls, the oily component-disposing region may or may not overlap the leak barrier elastic member in a plan view in the unfolded state, but preferably does not overlap, thereby preventing the oily component from coming into contact with the leak barrier elastic member and weakening the bond between the leak barrier elastic member and the sheets that make up the leak barrier, thereby preventing the elasticity of the leak barrier elastic member from weakening.
[0123] In the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure, in a plan view in the unfolded state, the absorbent main body may or may not have extension portions that extend outward from the outer body at each of a pair of leg openings (one leg opening and the other leg opening). If the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure has the extension portions, it is preferable that the oily component distribution region and the extension portions overlap in a plan view in the width direction in the unfolded state. This allows the extension portions to absorb menstrual blood and prevent leakage, even if an initial surface flow of menstrual blood occurs in the width direction in the oily component distribution region.
[0124] In the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure, in the unfolded state, the elastic member-arrangement region may extend to a position closer to the rear end than the oily component-arrangement region, and the napkin may have the rear elastic member-arrangement region described above, or it may not extend to a position closer to the rear end, and may not have the rear elastic member-arrangement region described above. When the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure has the rear elastic member-arrangement region, it is preferable that the skin-side sheet in the rear elastic member-arrangement region contains a smaller amount of oily component than the oily component-arrangement region. This makes it difficult for initial surface flow of menstrual blood to occur rearward. The amount is expressed in terms of the amount per unit area, for example, basis weight (g / m 2 ) Also, the "small amount" can be 0 (for example, 0 g / m 2 ) is included.
[0125] From the above viewpoint, the basis weight of the oily component in the rear elastic member arrangement region is preferably more than 0.0 times, more preferably 0.1 times or more, and even more preferably 0.2 times or more, relative to the basis weight of the oily component in the oily component arrangement region. Also, from the above viewpoint, the basis weight of the oily component in the rear elastic member arrangement region is preferably less than 1.0 times, preferably 0.9 times or less, and even more preferably 0.7 times or less, relative to the basis weight of the oily component in the oily component arrangement region.
[0126] In the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure, in the unfolded state, the elastic member-arrangement region may extend to a position closer to the front end than the oily component-arrangement region, and the napkin may have the front elastic member-arrangement region described above, or it may not extend to a position closer to the front end, and may not have the front elastic member-arrangement region described above. When the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure has the front elastic member-arrangement region, it is preferable that the skin-side sheet in the front elastic member-arrangement region contains a smaller amount of oily component than the oily component-arrangement region. This makes it difficult for an initial surface flow of menstrual blood to occur forward. The amount is expressed in terms of the amount per unit area, for example, basis weight (g / m 2 ) Also, the "small amount" can be 0 (for example, 0 g / m 2 ) is included.
[0127] From the above viewpoint, the basis weight of the oily component in the front elastic member arrangement region is preferably more than 0.0 times, more preferably 0.1 times or more, and even more preferably 0.2 times or more, relative to the basis weight of the oily component in the oily component arrangement region. Also, from the above viewpoint, the basis weight of the oily component in the rear elastic member arrangement region is preferably less than 1.0 times, preferably 0.9 times or less, and even more preferably 0.7 times or less, relative to the basis weight of the oily component in the oily component arrangement region.
[0128] When the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure is provided with the pair of fastening parts, in the back region in the unfolded state, the rearward edge of the oily component-distributing region may or may not be located closer to the front end than the frontward edges of the pair of fastening parts, but is preferably located closer to the front end. As a result, even if menstrual blood flows toward the buttocks due to initial surface flow, the initial surface flow can be suppressed in the region closer to the rear end than the oily component-distributing region, allowing the menstrual blood to be transferred to the absorbent core and preventing leakage.
[0129] When the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure is provided with the pair of fastening parts, in the abdominal region in the unfolded state, the front-side edge of the oily component-distributing region may or may not be located closer to the rear end than the rear-side edges of the pair of fastening parts, but is preferably located closer to the rear end. As a result, even if menstrual blood flows toward the abdominal side due to initial surface flow, the initial surface flow can be suppressed in the region closer to the front end than the oily component-distributing region, allowing the menstrual blood to be transferred to the absorbent core and preventing leakage.
[0130] In the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure, the absorbent core may or may not have a centered center portion located in the width direction. In the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure, when the absorbent core has the centered center portion, the oily component-disposing region is preferably disposed so as to overlap the centered center portion, and more preferably to extend beyond the centered center portion, in a plan view from the longitudinal direction when the shorts-type napkin is in an unfolded state. This allows the oily component disposed on the outside in the width direction beyond the centered center portion to slide down to the absorbent core any menstrual blood that has not been absorbed by the centered center portion or that has undergone initial surface flow.
[0131] For the same reason, in the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure, when the absorbent core has the mid-height portion, it is preferable that the oily component distribution region is positioned so as to overlap with the mid-height portion when viewed in a plan view from the width direction in the unfolded state, and it is more preferable that it is positioned beyond the mid-height portion.
[0132] From the above viewpoint, it is preferable that the above-mentioned central high portion is positioned at least in the excretory opening contact area, more preferably so as to extend longitudinally through the excretory opening contact area, and more preferably so as to extend longitudinally from the excretory opening contact area to cover the intergluteal cleft of the wearer's buttocks.
[0133] In the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure, when the absorbent core has a pair of constricted portions, the oily component-disposing region may or may not be located within the absorbent core at the pair of constricted portions in a plan view from the longitudinal direction in the unfolded state, but is preferably located therein, so that even if an initial surface flow of menstrual blood occurs at the pair of constricted portions, the oily component-free region present in the pair of constricted portions can allow the menstrual blood to slide down into the absorbent core.
[0134] In the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure, when the absorbent main body further includes the core wrap, the core wrap may or may not include a multi-layer region in the widthwise center where multiple core wraps are stacked, but it is preferable that the multi-layer overlap region be included, so that the multi-layer overlap region can fit around the wearer's excretory opening, intergluteal cleft, etc., and absorb menstrual blood.
[0135] In the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure, the outer body may have a single-sheet region made up of a single sheet, or may have a multiple-sheet region made up of a plurality of sheets.
[0136] In the abdominal region of the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure, the outer casing may include a multiple-sheet region consisting of multiple sheets arranged near the front end and a single-sheet region consisting of a single sheet arranged near the rear end. In this case, in the abdominal region in the unfolded state, it is preferable that the oily component-disposed region overlaps the single-sheet region in the thickness direction but does not overlap the multiple-sheet region in the thickness direction. This allows the oily component in the single-sheet region to slide menstrual blood onto the absorbent core, allowing the wearer to visually observe the absorbent core stained red by menstrual blood, giving the wearer a sense of security that the shorts-type napkin is absorbing menstrual blood. Furthermore, because the multiple-sheet region does not overlap with the oily component-disposed region, menstrual blood is less likely to initially flow over the surface, thereby suppressing leakage.
[0137] In the back region of the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure, the outer casing may include a single-sheet region consisting of a single sheet disposed near the front end and a multiple-sheet region consisting of multiple sheets disposed near the rear end. In this case, in the back region in the unfolded state, it is preferable that the oily component region overlaps the single-sheet region and the multiple-sheet region in the thickness direction. This allows the oily component to slide menstrual blood down to the absorbent core in both the single-sheet region and the multiple-sheet region, thereby preventing leakage.
[0138] The outer body may include an elastic member for fitting the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure to a wearer. The outer body may include, for example, an abdominal-side elastic member extending from one fastening portion to the other fastening portion in the abdominal region. The abdominal-side elastic member may be a plurality of linear abdominal-side elastic members spaced apart in the longitudinal direction, or may be a planar abdominal-side elastic member.
[0139] The outer cover may include, for example, rear elastic members extending in the width direction in the rear region (e.g., extending from one fastening portion to the other fastening portion and / or extending from one leg opening to the other leg opening). The rear elastic members may be a plurality of linear rear elastic members spaced apart in the longitudinal direction, or may be planar rear elastic members.
[0140] The back elastic member preferably overlaps the absorbent core in the thickness direction in an area outside the oily component-disposing area in the width direction, and is more preferably bonded directly or indirectly to the absorbent main body using a hot melt adhesive, etc. This allows the absorbent core to fit the wearer's skin in the oily component-disposing area, and ensures the width of the absorbent core in the area outside the oily component-disposing area in the width direction.
[0141] The outer cover may also include rear leg elastic members in the back region, each extending widthwise (e.g., from one fastening portion, along one leg opening, the absorbent main body, and the other leg opening, to the other fastening portion). The rear leg elastic members may be curved so as to protrude toward the longitudinal centerline. The rear leg elastic members may be partially or entirely broken in a region that overlaps with the absorbent core when the shorts-type napkin is unfolded.
[0142] In the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure, when the outer casing includes the rear leg elastic members, in the unfolded state, the oily component-disposing region and / or the elastic component-disposing region can extend beyond the rear leg elastic members and reach a position closer to the rear end than the rear leg elastic members. Thus, when the oily component-disposing region extends to a position closer to the rear end than the rear leg elastic members, the oily component disposed up to the rear end, together with the rear leg elastic members, can suppress the initial surface flow of menstrual blood and allow menstrual blood to slide down to the absorbent core. Furthermore, when the elastic component-disposing region extends to a position closer to the rear end than the rear leg elastic members, the rear leg elastic members can prevent the elastic members from pushing the absorbent core too far into the wearer's gluteal cleft, thereby ensuring the width of the absorbent core and preventing leakage.
[0143] In the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure, when viewed in a plan view from the longitudinal direction in the unfolded state, the oily component-disposing regions can be disposed in the widthwise central region and the pair of widthwise side regions, whereby in the widthwise central region of the absorbent core, the elastic member can fit the absorbent core to the wearer's skin, and the oily component disposed in the pair of widthwise side regions can slide down into the absorbent core if menstrual blood leaks beyond the widthwise central region into the pair of widthwise side regions.
[0144] Also, in this case, from the viewpoint of the above effect, it is preferable that, when viewed in a plane in the unfolded state, the pair of widthwise side regions are arranged on the non-skin side of the absorbent core and do not have elastic members extending longitudinally from the ventral region to the dorsal region.
[0145] In the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure, the absorbent core may further have folding points in the pair of widthwise side regions for folding the absorbent core in the widthwise direction. This makes it easier to fit the widthwise central region of the absorbent core to the wearer's excretory opening, buttocks, etc., and ultimately makes the shorts-type napkin more absorbent and less prone to leakage. Examples of the folding points include at least a compression portion for compressing the absorbent core, a slit, etc.
[0146] The shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure may further include second elastic members disposed outside the pair of widthwise side regions of the absorbent core and extending in the longitudinal direction from the ventral region to the dorsal region, thereby enabling the widthwise side regions of the absorbent core to fit the wearer's skin.
[0147] In the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure, in the unfolded state and in the area overlapping with the absorbent core in the thickness direction, the liquid-impermeable sheet and / or the outer body can have a colored area in the area closer to the front end and / or the rear end than the oily component-disposed area. This makes it possible to conceal to a certain extent menstrual blood absorbed by the absorbent core in the areas closer to the front end and the rear end, thereby making it less likely for the wearer to feel anxious about the possibility of menstrual blood leaking from the front or rear of the shorts-type napkin. Examples of the colored area include a printed area.
[0148] In the shorts-type napkin according to the present disclosure, in the unfolded state, the liquid-impermeable sheet and the outer casing may not have a colored portion in the area overlapping with the oily component-disposed region, which makes it easier for the wearer to visually recognize from the outside of the shorts-type napkin that the absorbent core has absorbed menstrual blood, and makes it easier for the wearer to get the impression that the shorts-type napkin is reliably absorbing menstrual blood and is less likely to leak.
[0149] The shorts-type napkin may be free of a volatile cooling agent. This prevents oily components from interfering with the sliding of menstrual blood down to the absorbent core, resulting in excellent menstrual blood absorption. Furthermore, the volatile cooling agent is prevented from irritating the area around the excretory opening, which is sensitive to menstruation. The vapor pressure of the volatile cooling agent at 20°C is preferably 0.1 Pa or more, more preferably 1.0 Pa or more, even more preferably 10 Pa or more, and even more preferably 100 Pa or more.
[0150] In the present disclosure, the oily component has the same effect as the blood slipping agent described in Patent Document 2, and plays a role in allowing menstrual blood to slide from the skin side sheet, preferably from the top sheet, to the absorbent core. The oily component has a viscosity of preferably 0.01 to 80 mm at 40°C. 2 / s, more preferably 1 to 70 mm 2 / s, more preferably 3 to 60 mm 2 / s, and even more preferably 5 to 50 mm 2 / s, and even more preferably 7 to 45 mm 2 / s.
[0151] In addition, the oil component has a viscosity of 0.01 to 80 mm at 40°C. 2 In order to have a kinematic viscosity of 80 mm / s, it is preferable that the melting point of the oily component is 45°C or lower. This is because if the oily component contains crystals at 40°C, the kinematic viscosity tends to increase. In this specification, the kinematic viscosity at 40°C may be simply referred to as "kinematic viscosity". 2If the viscosity exceeds 1 / s, the oily component will have high viscosity and will tend to have difficulty sliding down from the skin-side sheet, preferably the top sheet, to the absorbent core together with menstrual blood.
[0152] The kinematic viscosity can be measured at a test temperature of 40°C using a Cannon-Fenske reverse flow viscometer in accordance with JIS K 2283:2000, "5. Kinematic viscosity test method."
[0153] The oily component preferably has a water holding percentage of 0.01 to 4.0% by mass, more preferably 0.02 to 3.5% by mass, even more preferably 0.03 to 3.0% by mass, even more preferably 0.04 to 2.5% by mass, and even more preferably 0.05 to 2.0% by mass.
[0154] As used herein, "water holding rate" refers to the proportion of water that a substance can hold, and can be measured as follows: (1) A test tube, rubber stopper, substance to be measured, and deionized water are left standing overnight in a thermostatic chamber at 40°C. (2) In the thermostatic chamber, 5.0 g of the substance to be measured and 5.0 g of deionized water are placed in a 20 mL test tube. (3) In the thermostatic chamber, the mouth of the test tube is sealed with a rubber stopper, rotated once, and left standing for 5 minutes.
[0155] (4) In the constant temperature room, 3.0 g of the layer of the substance to be measured (usually the upper layer) is placed in a 90 mm diameter glass petri dish (mass: W0). (5) The petri dish is heated in an oven at 105°C for 3 hours to evaporate the water, and the mass of the entire dish is measured (mass: W1). (6) The water holding percentage is calculated according to the following formula: Water holding percentage (mass%) = 100 x (W0 - W1) / 3.0 The measurement is carried out three times, and the average value is used.
[0156] The oily component preferably has a weight-average molecular weight of less than 1,000, and more preferably less than 900. If the weight-average molecular weight is 1,000 or more, the oily component itself tends to become tacky, causing discomfort to the wearer. The oily component preferably has a weight-average molecular weight of 100 or more, and more preferably a weight-average molecular weight of 200 or more. If the weight-average molecular weight is small, the vapor pressure of the oily component increases, which can lead to evaporation during storage, loss of volume, odor when worn, and other problems.
[0157] In this specification, the term "weight average molecular weight" is a concept that includes polydisperse compounds (for example, compounds produced by sequential polymerization, esters produced from a plurality of fatty acids and a plurality of aliphatic monohydric alcohols) and single compounds (for example, esters produced from one type of fatty acid and one type of aliphatic monohydric alcohol). i Molecular weight M i In a system consisting of molecules (i=1, or i=1, 2, ...) of the following formula: M w =ΣN i M i 2 / ΣN i M i M obtained by w means.
[0158] In this specification, the weight average molecular weight refers to a polystyrene-equivalent value determined by gel permeation chromatography (GPC). Measurement conditions for GPC include, for example, the following: Model: High-performance liquid chromatogram Lachrom Elite manufactured by Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation Column: SHODEX KF-801, KF-803, and KF-804 manufactured by Showa Denko K.K. Eluent: THF Flow rate: 1.0 mL / min Injection volume: 100 μL Detection: RI (differential refractometer)
