Pet bowl liner

Abstract

A pet bowl liner that can be used to line a pet bowl filled with food or water that can be easily removed and tossed as well as can easily travel via attachment to a backpack. The liner has a stretchable collar and a drawstring along with a zip-locking portion, all to help secure the liner to the top of the pet bowl. The sides have collapsible ridges for variable heights for different sized bowls. The top of the liner includes finger handles on either side, holes for attachment to a backpack, snaps at the top to connect to snapes at the bottom and built-in snap buttons on either side so that the liner can be snapped shut both in the top to bottom direction and the front to back direction.

[0001] The field of this invention relates generally to the field of accessories for pets, and more particularly toward a pet food and / or water bowl liner.Description of the Prior Art

[0002] Pet owners know that it is important to keep their pet food and water bowls clean. However, this is an additional chore among many and can become quite inconvenient. It is the object of the instant invention to provide and liner for a pet food or water bowl that provides a safe barrier between the food or water and the dish itself which decreases bacteria and ensures a fresh, clean bowl at all times at home or on the go for pets, which eliminates the need for constant cleaning or purchasing a disposable bowl for home and / or a collapsible bowl for travel. The instant invention can line a bowl or be used as a stand-alone bowl with easy storage and transportation.Summary of the Invention

[0003] The basic embodiment of the present invention teaches a pet bowl liner comprising: a main body portion that includes a sidewall, a closed bottom and an open top such that said main body portion can be placed inside of a pet bowl; a stretchable collar at said open top; collapsible ridges along said sidewall to allow for height adjustability; and one or more apertures along said top for grasping said liner.

[0015] The preferred embodiment of the instant invention provides for a pet bowl liner for use with pets, such as a dog or a cat, for use in a pet bowl either for housing food or water. The liner has an elastic band / lip at the top to assist in the securing the liner to the open top perimeter of the pet bowl. There is a built-in zip-lock to keep it secured thereto. There are holes on either side of the pet bowl liner so that it can be attached to a backpack for traveling with it. The sidewall has collapsible ridges with an accordion design that allows for height adjustability. There are drawstrings across the top for easy closure and disposal. There are finger handles on both sides for easy pick up as well as snaps and snap holes to compact the device both before and after use.

[0016] Turning to Figure 1, it is shown a front view of the liner 10 which has an anti-bacterial surface 22. Across the top is the elastic collar 12, the drawstring 32 and the zip-lock portion 20. The sidewall includes collapsible ridges 26 shown along the sides. Across the top is found the backpack holes 14, the top snaps 18 and the built-in snap buttons 30 along with the finger handles 16 on either side. Across the bottom are snaps 24 that can snap with the top snaps 18 whereas the built-in snap buttons 30 connect with each other on either side of the device so that the device can be securely closed from top to bottom as well as back to front.

Claims

What is claimed is:

1. A pet bowl liner comprising: a main body portion that includes a sidewall, a closed bottom and an open top such that said main body portion can be placed inside of a pet bowl; a stretchable collar at said open top; collapsible ridges along said sidewall to allow for height adjustability; and one or more apertures along said top for grasping said liner.

2. The pet bowl liner as defined in claim 1 wherein at least one snap is situated proximate said open top and at least one snap is situated proximate said closed bottom for attachment together.

3. The pet bowl liner as defined in claim 1 wherein at least aperture is located proximate said open top for attachment to articles.

4. The pet bowl liner as defined in claim 1 wherein a plurality of snap buttons is located above said collapsible ridges that can connect to each other to allow for snapping closed said liner from front to back.

5. The pet bowl liner as defined in claim 1 wherein said main body portion is made of an anti-bacterial material.

6. The pet bowl liner as defined in claim 1 wherein a ziplocking portion is situated along said main body portion proximate said open top portion.

7. The pet bowl liner as defined in claim 1 wherein a drawstring is attached proximate said stretchable collar to allow for closing of said open top.
