Description

[0001] manufacturing machine

[0002] The invention relates to a manufacturing machine, at least consisting of a production device for producing shaped, filled and sealed container products, such as ampoules, and a separating device for separating the container products from a frame which at least partially surrounds the container products after they leave the production device along a straight production line with a predeterminable orientation.

[0003] From DE 10 2020 004 564 A1, a production device is known as part of a manufacturing machine for producing plastic containers by means of a forming, filling and closing process, at least consisting of a forming device with individual forming tools which can be repeatedly moved relative to one another from an open receiving position into a forming closed position and from an extrusion unit by means of which at least one extruded plastic tube can be introduced into the open receiving position of the forming tools, wherein the extrusion unit can be moved in the opposite direction with each extruded plastic tube by means of a displacement device relative to the forming device which is arranged stationary in each position of the forming tools. In this way, during continuous extrusion of the plastic tube by means of the extrusion unit and extrusion head, the shaping can be carried out stationary by means of the molding tool, which allows an exact alignment of the mold halves to one another for the production of the respective container product.

[0004] Such production devices are regularly connected, and often as a component of a manufacturing machine, to separating devices for separating individual container products from a frame composite made of a plastic material, in particular polyolefins such as polyethylene or polypropylene. The separating devices comprise a punching device that at least partially separates the respective container product from parts of the frame. According to the teaching of DE 10 2007 040 472 A1, the punching device comprises a free-fall body that separates the respective frame waste from the respective container product in free fall from an initial position. Further separating devices are described, for example, in DE 10 2022 000 100 A1 and DE 10 2007 060 419 B3. In addition to mechanical separation using punching and cutting devices, thermal separation using lasers has also become known in the specialist world. For example, DE 10 2010 01 1 207 A1 discloses a device for cutting composite, interconnected plastic products for the medical sector, comprising at least one laser, at least one laser control system, and at least one optical detection and data processing unit. This is intended to increase the efficiency of cutting composite container products made of plastic for the medical sector. What all of these different cutting devices have in common is that, during the cutting process, the container products with their contents assume a horizontal, full-surface position, thus resulting in good heat transfer between the plastic, including the frame, and the fluid container contents. This can be extremely disadvantageous, namely if the contents are heat-sensitive and their quality is impaired after corresponding heat input.A high heat input is also made possible by a long contact time, especially if the separating device regularly carries out the separating processes at a considerable distance from the production device within the manufacturing machine and the products first have to be transported from the production device to the point of separation.

[0005] Based on this prior art, the invention seeks to provide an improved manufacturing machine that reliably and economically enables the provision of filled container products, including their separation from a frame that inevitably arises during production. This object is achieved by a manufacturing machine having the features of patent claim 1 in its entirety.

[0006] Because, according to the characterising part of patent claim 1, the separating device separates the container products from the frame located within the straight production line and the frame remains in the straight production line at least until after the separation has been carried out, the separation of the container products from the said frame follows almost immediately and thus promptly after the production of the filled and sealed container products by means of the separating device, since in this respect the straight production line provides the shortest connection between the exit of the products from the production device and their entry into the separating device.

[0007] Furthermore, the straight production line, which enables a shortened connection between the production and separation devices, ensures that the frame emerging from the production device, still warm from the production process, cannot transfer its heat to the potentially heat-sensitive fluid container contents for an unnecessarily long time. Rather, the container products are completely separated from the adjacent, warm frame parts shortly before such heat transfer occurs. This has no equivalent in the state of the art.

[0008] It is particularly advantageous to orient the production line vertically, originating from the production device, and to have the separation by means of the separation device take place transversely to the vertical production line, so that the transfer time between the production device and the separation device is further reduced. This also results in a space-saving design of the production device with the separation device, which is arranged one behind the other in the production sequence. Since the container products are essentially located in a kind of natural fall line along the production line after leaving the production device, this also results in a trouble-free and obstruct-free transition between the two devices of the production machine arranged in sequence. Furthermore, the transition along the fall line necessarily does not require long transport routes, so that complex, additional transport means can be largely eliminated.

[0009] Preferably, the separation by means of the separation device can be carried out thermally using at least one easer, mechanically by means of water jet cutting or by means of a cutting or punching process.

[0010] In a preferred embodiment of the manufacturing machine according to the invention, the separating device for the mechanical cutting or punching process comprises a separating punch provided with a cavity that is at least partially adapted to the outer contour of the respective container product, and the cavity has a cutting edge or a punching surface on its edge that serves to separate the respective container product from the frame running along the production line. Due to the separating punch, a container group comprising several container products lying next to one another in a row, for example ten containers, can preferably be separated from the frame within the predetermined cycle time by the manufacturing process of the production device. The frame that has been cut or separated in this way is also referred to in technical terms as frame waste, whereby the remaining plastic residues can also be recycled, so that from a modern environmental perspective one can basically no longer speak of waste, but of recyclable material.

[0011] In a further preferred embodiment of the manufacturing machine according to the invention, the separating device comprises individual clamping jaws, which can be moved in pairs toward each other in a feed direction by means of individual actuating devices, such as actuating cylinders, forming a clamping gap for the frame, and away from each other in the opposite direction to an initial position. Due to the clamping jaw actuation by means of actuating cylinders, for example in the form of electric cylinders, relatively high actuating forces can be applied to the separating device and its components, such as the clamping jaws, with short closing and opening times.

[0012] In a further preferred embodiment of the manufacturing machine according to the invention, at least a portion of the frame, which encompasses the container product to be separated prior to separation, is secured within the clamping gap with a defined clamping force applied by at least one of the actuating devices. In this way, a type of manufacturing card, consisting of the frame and the container products accommodated therein, can be defined, so that the separating punch can perform the separation without hindrance to the separation process. Preferably, one of the clamping jaws can be passed through by the separating punch, which performs the separation by means of the same or a further actuating device, such as a further actuating cylinder or electric cylinder, as soon as the pairs of opposing clamping jaws delimit the clamping gap.Preferably, another clamping jaw of the pair of jaws has a chute for removing the separated container products from the frame. This allows for a quasi-continuous feeding of the container products from the production device, their separation from the frame, and their removal from the separation device, resulting in very fast production processes.

[0013] It is helpful for this purpose if a separate gripping device is present between the production device and the separating device. This gripping device is movable along the production line and transfers container products manufactured in the production device to the separating device in a precisely positioned manner. The gripping device preferably comprises at least one mold shell having at least one cavity that is at least partially adapted to the outer contour of the respective container products. Preferably, two, particularly preferably four or more mold shells are used for the gripping device.

[0014] In a further preferred embodiment of the manufacturing machine according to the invention, the edge remaining within the production line after the container products have been separated can be separated by means of a cutting device of the clamping jaw through which the separating punch has passed. In this way, parts of the frame can be separated simultaneously with the separation of the container products from the frame, which emerges from the separating device container-free after the separation process. This prevents the respective frame parts from forming a long chain in succession, which can be detrimental to the timely removal of the remaining amount of plastic material.

[0015] In another particularly preferred embodiment of the manufacturing machine according to the invention, the container products can be discharged from the production line into a shaft, preferably in a vertical direction, placed onto a conveyor in this direction, and transported out of the manufacturing machine. Accordingly, the separated container products retain their original orientation, and unwanted shaking of the container contents is avoided, which could otherwise, for example, cause unwanted bubble formation in the contents.

[0016] In another particularly preferred embodiment of the manufacturing machine according to the invention, the separating punch and / or the mold shells of the gripping device are temperature-controlled, preferably coolable. This allows unwanted, excessive heat input into the contents of the respective container product to be specifically prevented.

[0017] The invention further relates to a separating device, particularly intended for a manufacturing machine as presented above, comprising at least a pair of clamping jaws that can be moved by means of at least one actuating device from an initial position into a clamping position, forming a clamping gap, and vice versa, and comprising a separating punch that passes through one of the clamping jaws to carry out a separating process for container products from a frame that at least partially surrounds them, as soon as the frame in question is secured in the clamping gap. Thus, the separating device is an independent structural unit that can be combined with the further structural unit in the form of the production device to form a common manufacturing machine, even for retrofitting purposes. The invention also relates to a method for producing container products using a manufacturing machine as described above, wherein the container products are separated from the frame less than 20 seconds, preferably less than 16 seconds, particularly preferably less than 10 seconds, after leaving the production device. Furthermore, it is preferably provided that the container product and / or its contents are tempered, preferably cooled, by at least partially positive contact with at least one of the mold shells of the gripping device. Due to the rapid manufacturing sequence and the possibility of cooling, the respective container contents are protected from unwanted heat input in any case.

[0018] In the following, the manufacturing machine according to the invention, together with the associated separating device and method, is explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment according to the drawing. In this diagram, not to scale, the

[0020] Figure 2 shows a perspective view of a gripping device with gripping jaws for transferring container products held in a frame from a production device to a separating device;

[0021] Figure 3 shows the essential components of the separating device in the form of an exploded view;

[0022] Figures 4 and 5 show, partly in longitudinal section, the separating device in two different process stages.

[0023] Figure 1 shows the essential components of a manufacturing machine as

[0024] Whole. The manufacturing machine comprises a production device 10 for producing plastic products 12 by means of a molding, filling, and closing process. Such a production device 10, as used here, is described in detail in DE 10 2020 004 564 A1. For the sake of clarity, parts of the manufacturing machine that otherwise face the viewer of Figure 1 have been omitted, and the illustration is cut out in half. The production device 10 comprises a movable extrusion head 22 for extruding at least one plastic tube 16 and a molding device 18 arranged stationary relative thereto with individual molding tools 20 that interact in pairs. Of these, only the rear molding tool 20 of the respective pair is shown in Figure 1 for the sake of simplicity. The multi-part forming tools 20 for the container and head forming with the respective separation point can be moved back and forth in pairs between an open receiving position for receiving the hose 16 and a forming closed position for producing the container products 12.

[0025] The extrusion head 22, together with the extruded plastic tube 16 and the filling device 14, can be moved vertically up and down in opposite directions relative to the forming device 18, which is arranged stationary in each horizontal movement position of the forming tools 20, by means of a movement device (not shown), whereby the respective plastic tube 16 can be introduced into a respective receiving space 24 of the forming tools 20 arranged in a receiving position, as shown in Figure 1. Further details on the vertical up and down movement of the extrusion head 22, the filling device 14 and the extrusion device are shown in Figures 1 and 2 of DE 10 2020 004 564 A1 and are also described in detail there.

[0026] The extrusion head 22, together with the filling device 14, is moved between an upper end position and a lower end position in mutually opposite directions. The extrusion head 22 is linearly movable along a production line 29 (Figure 3) such that, by raising the extrusion head 22, starting from its lower end position toward the upper end position, the respective plastic tube 16 can be extruded continuously and under tension with the molding device 18 closed. By lowering the extrusion head 22, starting from the upper end position toward the lower end position, a portion of the respective plastic tube 16 thus extruded can be brought from an extrusion position into a molding position between the respectively open molding tools 20 of the molding device 18.

[0027] Below the production device 10 with the extrusion head 22 and the forming device 18, a separating device 30 is arranged stationary on a machine stand 28 of the production machine along the production line 29 according to the exploded view in Figure 3.

[0028] For the transfer of the container products 12 from the production device 10 to the separating device 30, a gripping device 32 is provided according to the illustration in Figure 2, with two gripping jaws 34 which can be moved horizontally towards and away from one another for gripping container products 12, wherein the gripping device 32 as a whole can be moved vertically up and down in the machine stand 28 by means of a further link guide 36 (Figure 1).

[0029] The production facility 10 preferably produces a continuous chain of container cards 38 on its output side, shown by way of example in Figure 3 and in detail in Figure 2. Each container card 38 comprises the frame 42 and a group 40 with preferably several filled container products 12 arranged side by side in a row. The container cards 38 are arranged adjacent to one another in the continuous production direction, with each container group 40 in the present case comprising ten container products 12 in the form of ampoules arranged side by side and provided with a detachable head part, which in turn are arranged side by side in a row. The ten container products 12 mentioned are only examples, and in principle, only a single container 12 can form a group 40.

[0030] Furthermore, the respective container groups 40 are at least partially and in any case along their side edges surrounded or enclosed by a frame 42, which consists of the same plastic material as the container products 12. The frame 42 is necessarily created during the manufacture of the container products 12 by means of the production device 10 and thus represents a region of the previously open plastic tube 16 that is closed at the edges. Using the aforementioned separating device 30, the respective container products 12 are to be separated from the respective edge frame 42.For improved frame guidance with the container products 12, at the transition point between two adjacent container groups 40 within a card 38, the respective frame 42 has a clamping strip 44 which extends transversely along the bottom side of all container products 12 located in a row, wherein the respective clamping strip 44 stiffens the respective frame 42 in this area and furthermore forms a defined contact surface for a clamping device 46, which will be described in more detail below, with paired clamping jaws 48, 49 as part of the separating device 30.

[0031] At the beginning of a process cycle, the extrusion head 22, together with each continuously extruded tube 16, is moved from its upper end position toward the open forming device 18 over a distance corresponding to the total height of a finished container product 12 less the tube length extruded during this travel movement. As a result, a portion of the respective tube 16 arranged above the forming device 18 is brought into a forming position in the respective receiving space 24 of the forming device 20.Simultaneously with the movement of the extrusion head 22, the gripping device 32, which is initially arranged in its clamping position and clamps at least the finished container products 12 of a container group 40 adjoining the part of the respective hose 16, is moved by means of the further movement device 36 from its upper end position arranged between the paired forming tools 20 of the forming device 18 towards its lower end position arranged below the forming device 18. With the forming device 18 open, the plastic hose 16 is held under tension relative to the extrusion head 22 by means of the gripping device 32. Simultaneously with the movement of the extrusion head 22 and the gripping device 32, the filling mandrels (not shown) of the filling device 14 are extended in the respective hose interior from their upper end position towards their lower end position. The subsequent filling and sealing of the individual container products 12 is state of the art (DE 10 2020 004 564 A1) and will not be described further here. Furthermore, instead of the production device 10 shown, another device can also be used that produces comparable container cards with a rim and filled container products accommodated therein.

[0032] As can also be seen from Figure 2, the respective gripping jaw 34 of the gripping device 32 has individual cavities 50 that are modeled on the outer contours of the container products 12. In this way, two container groups 40 arranged one above the other can be received with a precise fit between the gripping jaws 34, which in this respect form a type of mold shell. The cavities 50 of a gripping jaw 34, which are arranged at the top as viewed in the direction of Figure 2, have a cavity-free area 52 in the region of the detachable head parts of the respective container with the filling material, which opens up the possibility of already guiding the uppermost container group 40 on the container side while the molding device 18 is still forming the head shape with the separation points with some of its molded parts.Instead of the arrangement shown in Figure 2, only one row of cavities can be provided for the containers 12 of a container group 40; or even more, depending on the discharge quantity of container products 12 provided by the molding device 18. The frame 42, which laterally encloses the container products 12 by means of its two parallel frame parts 53, in conjunction with the clamping strip 44 arranged on the bottom side, is in any case clamped as needed between the continuous wall parts of the gripping jaws 34 in a flat arrangement. For tempering the container products 12 including their contents, the gripping device 32 can be provided with a tempering device (not shown), in particular a cooling device.

[0033] As can be seen in particular from Figures 4 and 5, the gripping device 32, in its lower transfer position, transfers the respective container group 40 of a container card 38 in succession to the separating device 30, as is shown in more detail with its essential parts in the exploded view according to Figure 3. For the mechanical cutting or punching process, the separating device 30 has a cuboid-shaped separating punch 54 provided with a cavity 56 that is at least partially adapted to the outer contour of the respective container product 12, wherein the cavity 56 has a cutting edge or a punching surface 58 on its edge, which serves to separate the respective container product 12 from the frame 42 running along the production line 29. In the present exemplary embodiment, the container products 12 located within the container group 40, ten in total, are to be separated from the frame 42.In Figure 3, a container card 38 with the individual container groups 40 and the frame 42 is shown, wherein at the lower end of the container card 38, with the container group 40 already separated with the ten container products 12, only the frame 42 with the lateral frame parts 53 and the lowest clamping strip 44 remains as a remainder.

[0034] The separating device 30 further comprises the two clamping jaws 48, 49 of the clamping device 46, which, by means of individual actuating devices 59, using at least two actuating cylinders 60, can be moved toward each other in pairs in a feed direction, forming a clamping gap 62 for the frame 42, and away from each other in the opposite direction into a starting position. Electric cylinders, in particular, can be used as actuating cylinders 60. The two actuating cylinders 60 are each arranged in a fixed position on the machine stand 28 of the manufacturing machine according to Figure 1 via cylinder receptacles 64, and the clamping jaws 48, 49, which can be moved by means of the respectively assignable actuating devices 59, are guided for longitudinal displacement, preferably in the horizontal direction, by means of rod guides 66.

[0035] Independently of the two actuating cylinders 60 and thus independently of the movement of the actuating devices 59, the separating punch 54 can be arranged to be movable back and forth by means of a further actuator device, for example from an initial position according to Figure 4 into a cutting or punching position with subsequent movement over the same into an output or ejection position according to Figure 5 and back again. However, it is preferably provided that the actuating cylinder 60 shown on the left in Figure 3 not only moves the associated actuating device 59 into a clamping position for the frame 42 of a container card 38, but rather, after assuming the clamping position, also subsequently moves the separating punch 54 further to the right for cutting or punching the container products 12 out of the frame 42.In any case, the clamping jaw 48 of the clamping device 46 forms a frame-shaped die 70, which serves as a hold-down device and interacts with another frame-shaped die receptacle 72, which is guided in the associated actuating device 59 via another rod guide 74. Said actuating device 59 has individual compression spring elements 76 on its free end face, which exert a damping spring force on the die 70 or the clamping jaw 48 when a punching or cutting process is initiated and carried out by means of the separating punch 54 while the respective container group 40 is clamped. On the opposite side, a frame-shaped counterholder die 78 is connected to the right-hand actuating device 59, which interacts with the die 70 as a hold-down device during a punching or cutting process, springing back, which leads to improved separating results.

[0036] As can be seen in particular from Figures 4 and 5, the die 70 with the separating punch 54 is moved from an initial position according to Figure 4 into an actuating position according to Figure 5, in which the die 70, as part of the actuating device 59, comes into contact with the frame 42, in particular in the form of the lateral frame parts 53 and the clamping strip 44. The counter-holder die 78 can already assume its clamping position shown in Figures 4 and 5, and the die 70 is then advanced accordingly. During this advance movement, the separating punch 54 can preferably be moved along at the same time for a cutting or punching process; however, an independent movement can also be provided, in which the separating punch 54, via the actuating cylinder 60 or another actuator, assumes travel positions independently of the die 70, in which it engages through the center of the frame-shaped die 70.

[0037] As can also be seen from Figure 5, the die 70 has an additional cutting device 80 with a linear cutting edge on the base side, which, when the die 70 is advanced onto the counter-holder die 78, adjacent below the corresponding clamping gap 62 for the frame 42, separates the underlying frame 42 from the overlying frame 42. The frame 42 thus separated can then be reprocessed.

[0038] Furthermore, Figure 5 shows that when cutting or punching out the container products 12 in a row from the associated frame 42, the clamping strips 44 of the frame 42 arranged above and below are defined between the dies 70, 78 designed as clamping jaws 48, 49. In any case, however, before a punching or cutting process, the two dies 70, 78 must be spaced apart by means of the actuating devices 59 so that the container card 38 with the container products 12 and the frame 42 can be inserted into the separating device without interference by the gripping device 32 before the dies 70, 78 close the clamping jaws 38, 39 again by abutting one another.

[0039] The cut or punched container products 12 are then guided downwards in a defined vertical dispensing direction via a shaft 82 within the right-hand actuating device 59 with the clamping jaw 49 and are placed on a conveyor belt 84 of a conveyor device 86 in the vertical setup direction and then transported away, for example in order to combine them in bundles with a corresponding number of container products 12 of a chain 40 in a dispensing package (not shown). As Figures 4 and 5 further illustrate in particular, the two dies 70 and 78, as clamping jaws 48 and 49, respectively, exert very high clamping forces on the frame 42 of the container card 38, and during the cutting or punching process, container products 12 are continuously fed via the container card 38 by the production device 10 at a predeterminable machine cycle thanks to the gripping device 32.The separating device 30 shown in more detail in Figures 3 to 5 can also be retrofitted as a so-called retrofit kit to existing manufacturing machines with a production device 10. The separating device 30 allows for rapid separation of the container products 12 from the associated frame 42, and even stiffer plastic materials can be separated in this way.

[0040] With the presented manufacturing machine, methods for producing container products 12 can be carried out, wherein the separation of the container products 12 from the frame 42 can take place after less than 20 seconds, preferably after less than 16 seconds, particularly preferably after less than 10 seconds after leaving the production device 10. Furthermore, it is possible, alternatively or in addition to the gripping device 32 with its mold shells, to also temper, in particular to cool, the separating punch 54, preferably on its free end face against which the container products 12 come into contact.
