[0001] “DEVICE APPLIED TO LIQUID PACKAGING” TECHNICAL FIELD
[0002] This report describes a patent application proposing a device applied to liquid packaging that can be coupled to a bottle containing a liquid, thus allowing such device to be used to administer the application of said liquid in the form of a spray or jet. The device applied to the liquid packaging in question can be used in conjunction with bottles of various shapes and capacities and is useful, but not limited to, procedures adopted in beauty salons, hair salons, and others.
[0003] PREAMBLE
[0004] This patent application concerns a device applied to liquid packaging that innovates by allowing its spray flow (or jet) to be adjusted in direction, allowing it to be directed forward, as is conventional, but also, and even, to be directed backward, toward the user. The device applied to liquid packaging proposed herein is also innovative by having a locking insert that allows its trigger to be kept locked, thus preventing accidental actuation, for example, when the liquid packaging (and the device associated with it) is being transported. STATE OF THE ART
[0005] As is common knowledge, there are several models of devices applied to liquid packaging that are normally intended for coupling to bottles in which a given volume of liquid (water, for example, or other) is stored, so that such liquid can be applied in the form of a spray or even a jet.
[0006] This type of device applied to the packaging of liquids has various forms of use, including use in gardening (as a way of administering small doses of water to delicate plants or flowers), in domestic cleaning procedures (as a way of applying various products used in this type of activity) and also in the scope of procedures adopted in beauty salons, hairdressers and other similar establishments.
[0007] In general, devices applied to liquid packaging of the type discussed here are normally defined as a device constructed of plastic material, using an injection process, and which constitutes a small manual pump, which, through the cycling of its trigger, operates a means that drains the liquid from inside the packaging or bottle and applies it under pressure to a spray nozzle, through which this liquid is ejected in the form of a spray, with the possibility of it also coming out in the form of a jet.
[0008] This type of device applied to liquid packaging is also widely used in other areas, and examples of the state of the art can be the documents cited below: PI0912446-2, filed on 07 / 08 / 2009 and entitled: “SPRAYER FOR LIQUIDS”; BR132016029462-1 , filed on 12 / 15 / 2016, entitled: “IMPROVED SPRAYER FOR LIQUIDS IN GENERAL”; and document BR202021009292-6, filed on 05 / 13 / 2021 , entitled: “ARRANGEMENT INTRODUCED IN A SPRAYER FOR CONDITIONING WATER AND CONCENTRATED PRODUCTS, WITH A MECHANISM FOR DILUTING PRODUCTS CONCENTRATED IN WATER”.
[0009] STATE OF THE TECHNIQUE PROBLEMS
[0010] The devices discussed, by way of example, in the three prior art documents cited above, each present their own design, with the device proposed in document P 10912446-2 being the most conventional and its text claiming specific construction details.
[0011] Document BR132016029462-1 proposes a device that incorporates, at the base of the bottle or packaging to which it is associated, the assembly of an electrical resistance with a view to providing heating of the liquid contained in said bottle or packaging.
[0012] Finally, with regard to document BR202021009292-6, a device is presented that is associated with a bottle or packaging in which a separation is provided for two different liquids, so that when the trigger of the device is manually activated, a spray (or jet) is produced in which the two different liquids are present in a mutually diluted form.
[0013] The three examples of devices mentioned and commented above have their respective particularities, but they have in common a limiting aspect which consists of the fact that the direction of the spray flow (or jet depending on the chosen flow adjustment) is always facing forward, which prevents, for example, the liquid contained in the bottle or packaging from being applied directly to the user.
[0014] In other words, devices belonging to the state of the art always produce spray or jet sprays that are directed only forward.
[0015] Another limiting aspect found in the devices proposed in the prior art documents cited above is the fact that their trigger may, in certain situations, be accidentally activated, which may result in the undue and unwanted release of some portion of the liquid contained within the bottle to which they are associated.
[0016] This type of occurrence can happen, for example, if the device / liquid packaging set is being transported carelessly, or when it is handled while being stored in a location, such as a transport box, bag or similar.
[0017] OBJECTIVES OF THE INVENTION
[0018] In view of the drawbacks present in devices belonging to the state of the art, the device applied to the packaging of liquids proposed here was developed, which basically innovates in two aspects that are not the subject of any of the currently known solutions and which include: a) a design and assembly solution for its spray nozzle that can have its direction adjusted so that the spraying can occur forward, as is usual, but that can also be adjusted to occur in the opposite direction, that is, in the direction of the user; and b) the provision of a locking insert that, when applied to the trigger of the device, allows said trigger to be blocked, thus preventing its unwanted or accidental activation.
[0019] ADVANTAGES OF THE INVENTION
[0020] The proposed device, because its spray nozzle can be adjusted in direction, can produce spray (or jet) directed either forward or backward, toward the user, thus filling a gap in currently known designs. Another advantage is that the proposed device is designed to accommodate a locking insert that blocks the trigger from being activated. This locking insert, when applied to the device, prevents the trigger from being pulled improperly or accidentally.
[0021] DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0022] The device applied to the proposed liquid packaging, hereinafter referred to simply as the device, comprises an outer casing with a vertical opening, through which a trigger emerges, used to activate the internal pumping system. A locking insert can be applied over the trigger and inside the vertical opening when it is pressed down, thus preventing it from rising. The locking insert ensures that the trigger remains in the lowered position until it is removed, preventing improper or accidental actuation of the trigger and, consequently, preventing leakage of any portion of the liquid stored in the bottle or packaging.
[0023] The device proposed here also has a spray nozzle in the upper portion of its housing that is incorporated into a rotating base, thus allowing the position of said spray nozzle to be changed between pointing forward and pointing backward in relation to its trigger.

[0077] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0078] As illustrated in the figures above, the device (1) has an external housing (2) equipped with a vertical opening (3), through which a trigger (4) emerges, which is used to activate the internal pumping system (5), and a locking insert (6) is provided that can be applied over the trigger (4) and inside the vertical opening (3) when it is pressed down, thus preventing said trigger (4) from accidentally rising. It should be noted that the internal pumping system (5), although cited and indicated in the drawings schematically by means of a dashed volume, does not constitute claimed subject matter as it is absorbed by the state of the art, which is why no type of detailing thereof is necessary.
[0079] The upper region of the external casing (2) incorporates, in a position diametrically opposite to that of the trigger (4), a spray nozzle (7), through which, by compressing said trigger (4), the spray or jet is produced.

Claims
CLAIMS 1. “DEVICE APPLIED TO THE PACKAGING OF LIQUIDS”, the device (1 ) has an external housing (2) equipped with a vertical opening (3), through which a trigger (4) emerges, which is used to allow the activation of the internal pumping system (5); the device (1 ) has a spray nozzle (7) in a position diametrically opposite to the trigger (4) and is complemented with a liquid storage bottle (28); the device (1 ) is characterized by being equipped with an upper portion (8) of its external housing (2) that has a rotating base (9), in which the spray nozzle (7) is incorporated; the device (1 ) also has a locking insert (6) that can be applied over the trigger (4) and inside the vertical opening (3) when it is pressed downwards.
2. “DEVICE APPLIED TO THE PACKAGING OF LIQUIDS”, according to claim 1, which is characterized by presenting an alternative version (1 A) in which the upper portion (8) of its external housing (2A) presents a rotating base (9), in which the spray nozzle (7A) is incorporated.
3. “DEVICE APPLIED TO THE PACKAGING OF LIQUIDS”, according to claims 1 or 2, characterized in that the spray nozzle (7),(7A) can have its position changed between pointing forwards and pointing backwards in relation to its trigger (4) by rotating the rotating base (9) of the upper housing (8) of the device (1),(1 A).
4. “DEVICE APPLIED TO THE PACKAGING OF LIQUIDS”, according to claim 1, characterized in that the locking insert (6) is constituted as a monoblock piece (10), obtained by means of a plastic injection molding process and has a front wall (11), from which a grip handle (12) emerges, with the face (13) of said front wall (11) having a curvature in the vertical (V) and horizontal (H) directions so that harmonization is produced with the vertical (V) and horizontal (H) curvatures of the face (14) of the external wall (15) of the external housing (2) of the device (1).
5. “DEVICE APPLIED TO THE PACKAGING OF LIQUIDS”, according to claim 4, characterized in that the locking insert (6) on the face (13) of its front wall (11) has a curvature in the vertical (V) and horizontal (H) directions so that harmonization with the vertical (V) and horizontal curvatures is produced. (H) than the face (14) of the outer wall (15) of the outer casing (2A) of the alternative version of the device (1A).
6. “DEVICE APPLIED TO THE PACKAGING OF LIQUIDS”, according to claims 1 or 2, characterized in that the monoblock piece (10) that defines the locking insert (6) is provided with side walls (16) that have a straight upper horizontal edge (17) and an arched lower edge (18), and the upper face (19) of said monoblock piece (10) is defined by sections of triangular horizontal wall (20) that start from the upper edge (21) of the front wall (11) and head towards the ends of the side walls (16); at the end of each of the side walls (16) there is a rectangular projection facing outwards (22), which acts as a locking device for the locking insert (6) in relation to the internal structural walls (23) that flank the vertical opening (3) of the external casing (2), (2A);a central rectangular projection facing upwards (24) is also provided, located in the region of the upper edge (21) of the front wall (11), which locks the lock insert (6) in relation to the internal structural wall (24) which is located on the upper edge (25) of the vertical opening (3) of the external casing (2), (2A); the internal face (26) of the front wall (11) of the lock insert (6) has two vertical wall sections (27) which act as structural reinforcement for the monoblock part (10).;
