[0003] BACKGROUND ART Conventionally, in the field of automobiles, there is known a vehicle molding structure that seals gaps that occur between the side edges of a front or rear window glass of a vehicle and surrounding structures using a molding.
[0004] For example, Patent Document 1 discloses a technology relating to a vehicle molding structure that uses a molding attachment tool to attach a molding to a gap between an edge of a window glass and a vehicle body wall portion that faces the edge of the window glass. In this technology, a first clip that is fixed to a stud on the vehicle body wall and a second clip that is fixed to the molding are used to attach the molding to the vehicle body to form a vehicle molding structure.

In such cases, it is necessary to configure a molding structure for a vehicle by sealing a gap formed between the window glass on the front or rear of the vehicle, the side edge of which overlaps the pillar of the vehicle body, and the pillar glass, the leading edge or trailing edge of which overlaps the pillar, with a molding.

1. A vehicle molding structure comprising: a window glass at the front or rear of a vehicle, the window glass being arranged so that its side edge overlaps a pillar of the vehicle body; a window glass molding attached to the side edge of the window glass; pillar glass being arranged so that its leading edge or trailing edge overlaps the pillar; and a pillar glass molding attached to at least a part of the leading edge or trailing edge of the pillar glass, wherein the window glass molding has: a head that covers the gap formed between the window glass and the pillar glass from the exterior of the vehicle; and a leg that protrudes from the back surface of the head and has a leg-side engaging portion, and the pillar glass molding has a base that is formed so as to fit along the leading edge or the trailing edge of the pillar glass, and a base-side engaging portion that protrudes from the base, and the leg-side engaging portion of the window glass molding and the base-side engaging portion of the pillar glass molding engage with each other and are secured.
2. A vehicle molding structure as set forth in claim 1, wherein the leg-side engaging portion of the window glass molding has a claw portion formed at the tip of the leg, and the base-side engaging portion of the pillar glass molding has a hook portion that engages the claw portion in the interior / exterior direction of the vehicle.
3. A vehicle molding structure according to claim 1, wherein the head of the window glass molding has a covering portion that covers at least a portion of the exterior surface of the base portion of the pillar glass molding from the exterior of the vehicle.
4. A molding structure for a vehicle according to claim 3, wherein the base portion of the pillar glass molding supports the head portion of the window glass molding.
5. A vehicle molding structure according to claim 1, wherein the base portion of the pillar glass molding has a protrusion that abuts against the back surface of the head portion of the window glass molding.
6. A vehicle molding structure according to claim 1, wherein the pillar glass molding has a mounting body equipped with the base portion side locking portion, and the mounting body is fixed to the base portion.
7. A molding structure for a vehicle according to claim 6, wherein the mounting body is partially embedded in the base, with the base-side locking portion exposed to the outside.
8. A vehicle molding structure as described in claim 7, wherein the mounting body has a body portion forming a main body, an arm portion that protrudes from the body portion toward the pillar glass side and is embedded in the base portion, and a base portion-side engaging portion that protrudes from the body portion on the side opposite to the pillar glass side and is not embedded in the base portion.
9. A window glass molding attached to the side edge of a window glass on the front or rear of a vehicle, the side edge of which is arranged to overlap a vehicle body pillar, the window glass molding having a head that covers, from the outside of the vehicle, a gap formed between the window glass and pillar glass that is arranged so that its front edge or rear edge overlaps the pillar, and legs that protrude from the back surface of the head and have leg-side locking portions.
10. A pillar glass assembly comprising: a pillar glass arranged so that its leading edge or trailing edge overlaps a pillar of a vehicle body; and a pillar glass molding attached to at least a portion of the leading edge or trailing edge of the pillar glass, wherein the pillar glass molding has a base portion formed to fit along the leading edge or trailing edge of the pillar glass, and a base portion-side engaging portion protruding from the base portion, and the base portion-side engaging portion is for engaging with and securing the leg portion-side engaging portion of the window glass molding described in claim 9.
