[0208] Detailed description

[0209] Figure 1 shows a first embodiment of a device for collecting samples 100. In particular, the device for collecting samples 100 is configured for collecting organic and / or inorganic samples, of a biological and / or microbiological type and preferably of urine.

[0210] Organic samples comprise one or more carbon atoms, in particular bonded in covalent bond with one or more atoms of other elements. Organic samples comprise carbon atoms with oxidation number less than +4. Inorganic samples are samples wherein there are no carbon atoms present or wherein this element has an oxidation number greater than or equal to +4.

[0211] In a particular embodiment, the device is configured for collecting samples of biological or microbiological material.

[0212] A specific and non-limiting destination of use of the device herein described is to collect urine.

[0213] The device comprises first of all an elongated body 110, in particular in the form of a stem. Preferred embodiments of the device herein described have an elongated body 110 realized in plastic material. Such material can confer particular flexibility to the elongated body 110.

[0214] The flexibility of the elongated body 110 may be convenient for the collection of urine samples. In fact, a nonlimiting destination of use provides that the device object of the present disclosure is partially immersed in a temporary container, containing urine.

[0215] Therefore, a particular embodiment provides an elastic elongated body 110, in particular elastic as a result of deformations of at least 70°, preferably at least 90°, on a radius of curvature equal to or less than 3cm, more preferably equal to or less than 2cm.

[0216] An alternative destination of use may involve soaking the at least one first collecting element 111, with which the device herein described is provided, with a stream of urine directly collected by the subject.

[0217] Preferably, the elongated body 110 can be realized with a molding process, and in particular with an injection molding process. In order to promote a reduction in production costs, the elongated body 110 can be realized in a single monolithic element, in particular by means of the above-described molding process

[0218] The molding process can allow to realize integrative elements on the elongated body 110; such integrative elements will be subseguently described in the present description.

[0219] The elongated body 110 comprises a first portion 114 and a second portion 115; the first portion 114 is a head portion and can comprise a gripping portion 122.

[0220] The gripping portion 122 is configured for being grasped by a user which effectively retains, therefore during the use, the device for collecting samples 100 at least during the step of sample collection and, as will be better clarified by the following portion of the description, also during the step of release of the sample in a container.

[0221] In a preferred, but non-limiting embodiment, the gripping portion 122 is integral with the elongated body 110; in an alternative embodiment, the gripping portion can be not integral with the elongated body 110, and in particular can be rotating with respect to the elongated body itself. The relative rotation that can take place with the gripping portion, and in particular the rotation that can take place between the first portion 114 and the second portion 115, and then between the gripping portion 122 and the second portion 115, can take place along the main development axis of the elongated body 110.

[0222] The gripping portion 122 for example can comprise a knurling suitable for promoting a friction with the fingers of an operator.

[0223] The second portion 115 is a portion substantially opposed with respect to the first portion, and comprises a bottom portion or end of the elongated body 110.

[0224] In a resting configuration the elongated body 110 has a substantially axial longitudinal development. The main development axis of the elongated body 110 is identified with the reference Y.

[0225] The device object of the present disclosure comprises also a first collecting element 111, that is configured for absorbing and / or retaining a sample, in particular an organic and / or inorganic sample and preferably the sample of biological and / or microbiological material.

[0226] The first collecting element 111 is provided with a through-hole 111f. The section of the through-hole is such that it allows an easy sliding of the first collecting element 111 on the elongated body 110.

[0227] In particular, in case of the embodiment of figure 1 wherein the elongated body 110 is of substantially circular section, it is clear that the first collecting element 111 is translatably and rotatably movable with respect to the elongated body 110.

[0228] In the embodiment of figure 1 the gripping portion 122 is integral with the elongated body 110 (in particular, it cannot rotate with respect to the latter); is therefore clear that the first collecting element 111 is translatably and rotatably movable with respect to the gripping portion 122. The previously mentioned immersion shall be such as to cause at least a partial immersion of the at least one first collecting element 111 The immersion on the bottom of the temporary container can determine a significant flexion of the elongated body 110, which must be preferably able to assume again a conformation substantially with axial development, when the force exerted by the user to push the first collecting element 111 towards the bottom of the temporary container ceases.

[0229] The number of collecting elements 111 that can comprise the device object of the present disclosure can be greater than one. As the number of collecting elements 111 that are present on the device object of the present disclosure grows, the volume of sample that can be collected through the device consequently increases.

[0230] In particular, the first collecting element 111 is specifically configured for retaining within it a fluid, in particular a liquid

[0231] The first collecting element 111 is configured for retaining said fluid independently of the spatial orientation assumed. This first collecting element 111 therefore differs from a concave element, whose ability to properly retain a fluid is a function of its spatial orientation with respect to the direction of gravity.

[0232] The first collecting element is operatively compressible and / or squeezable. In use, compressing and / or squeezing the first collecting element 111 causes a reduction in its volume and consequently a leakage of the sample, at least partial.

[0233] Therefore, it is clear that the first collecting element 111 has at least:

[0234] - an at least partially expanded configuration (identified in the attached figures by the reference B);

[0235] - a compressed and / or twisted configuration (identified in the attached figures by the reference A).

[0236] As it will be clear from the following description, the compressed and / or twisted configuration A can be a partially compressed and / or twisted configuration or a maximally compressed or twisted configuration. As it will be clear from a reading of the following portion of the description, the use of the device 100 object of the present disclosure provides collecting a urine sample by bringing the first collecting element 111 in the at least partially expanded configuration B, through an absorption or in any case a retention of said sample in or on the first collecting element 111.

[0237] If the compressed and / or twisted configuration A is a partially compressed and / or twisted configuration, this means that the at least one first collecting element 111 can be further compressed and / or twisted, in particular and non-limiting up to the physical limits of its structure.

[0238] If the compressed and / or twisted configuration A is a maximally compressed or twisted configuration, this means that the at least one first collecting element 111 is substantially compressed and / or twisted to its physical limits.

[0239] The compressed and / or twisted configuration can be a simultaneously compressed and twisted configuration.

[0240] The compressed and / or twisted configuration A is a configuration more compressed and / or twisted with respect to the at least partially expanded configuration. In use, the compressed and / or twisted configuration A can be destined to remain after a release of the sample originally absorbed and / or retained. In other terms, the at least one first collecting element 111 is configured for keeping said compressed and / or twisted configuration A after a release at least partial of the sample.

[0241] This absorption and / or retention is promoted in particular by the expansion and / or reduction of the twist of the collecting element 111 with respect to a preceding pre-compression- or pre-twist- condition.

[0242] Figure 1 shows the first collecting element 111 in a pre-compressed and / or pre-twisted configuration (identified in the attached figures by the reference C). This pre-compressed and / or pre-twisted configuration is an initial configuration, and in particular can take place, and in particular can be optionally maintained even without outer aids by the at least one first collecting element 111, before the first collecting element 111 is soaked with the sample of urine. Following this action, it expands, in particular automatically, towards the at least partially expanded configuration B.

[0243] As will be better clarified by a complete reading of the present description, the at least one first collecting element

[0244] 111 is mounted, in particular operatively mounted, on the elongated body 110.

[0245] In the specific embodiment of figure 1, the first collecting element is slidingly sleeved on the elongated body 110 and is therefore clear that can be arranged in at least one respective portion of the elongated body 110

[0246] As will be better clarified by the following portions of the description, the portion of elongated body can be an intermediate portion, a central portion or an end portion.

[0247] This configuration shall not be intended in a limiting way, as there could be auxiliary elements that connect in an at least partially movable way the first collecting element 111 to the elongated body without necessarily having a collecting element sleeved on the elongated body 110.

[0248] The first collecting element 111 is preferably free to slide along the elongated body 110, in particular being free to fully slide with respect to the elongated body 110 and not only partially, due to the effect of an axial compression thereof.

[0249] The device of figure 1 comprises a first retaining element 112 for the first collecting element 111. This first retaining element 112 is in this case realized by an enlarged portion of the elongated body 110, that realizes the gripping portion 122.

[0250] As shown in figures 1a and 1b, an alternative to the solution herein described is to have a first retaining element

[0251] 112 that is removably mountable or deformably mounted on the elongated body 110, in correspondence of a recess 110r that allows to retain the first retaining element 112 in a predefined portion with respect to the extension of the elongated body 110, and in particular in a position non-translating with respect to the elongated body.

[0252] The device herein described also comprises a second retaining element 113 for the collecting element 111. Differently from first retaining element 112, the second retaining element 113 is movable with respect to the elongated body 110, and in particular is slidingly arranged on the elongated body 110. Specifically, the second retaining element 113 is removably mounted on the elongated body 110 and can be operatively removable from the elongated body 110.

[0253] The elongated body 110 is accessible. With the exclusion of the intermediate portion that is covered by the collecting element 111 , or by the plurality of collecting elements 111 if present, the elongated body 110 is not covered by any element.

[0254] The elongated body 110 is preferably of cylindrical shape and detects a substantially smooth surface to allow the movement of the second retaining element 113 and of the collecting element 111. The elongated body 110 realizes a guiding element for the collecting element 111.

[0255] Having defined that the collecting element 111 has: a first end, or upper end, a second end, or lower end, opposite with respect to the first end, the first retaining element 112 is facing the first end and the second retaining element 113 is facing the second end.

[0256] The second retaining element 113 is also movable with respect to the gripping portion 122, and in particular is axially movable with respect to the gripping portion 122.

[0257] The second retaining element 113 is destined to operatively cooperate with a container 200 in order to release the collected sample.

[0258] In the embodiment of figure 1, the second retaining element 113 is in fact sleeved on the elongated body 110. Figure 2 shows that the second retaining element 113, which for example has a substantially disc-shaped form, has a central hole in correspondence thereof is in use introduced in the elongated body 110.

[0259] Figure 1 shows a configuration wherein the second retaining element 113 is movable with respect to the first collecting element 111. In particular, there is at least one configuration wherein the second retaining element 113 can lie in a position distanced with respect to the collecting element 111.

[0260] There is a sufficient annular space between the central hole of the second retaining element 113 and the diameter of the elongated body 110 such as to allow a relative rotation between the second retaining element 113 and the elongated body 110. The rotation takes place along the axis locally possessed by the elongated body 110.

[0261] In an embodiment, the second retaining element 113 is in correspondence of the second portion 115 of the elongated body 110, but can move until reaching the first portion 114 of the elongated body.

[0262] The second retaining element 113 is movable between at least one first position P1 with respect to the first retaining element 112 and a second position P2 with respect to the first retaining element 112.

[0263] In the first position P1 the first retaining element 112 and the second retaining element 113 retain the first collecting element 111 in a compressed and / or twisted configuration A. It is therefore clear that the at least one first collecting element 111 can be positioned operatively, in particular axially interposed, between the first retaining element 112 and the second retaining element 113

[0264] In the second position P2 the first retaining element 112 and the second retaining element 113 leave free or retain the first collecting element 111 in the at least partially expanded configuration. This is the configuration shown in figure 3, wherein it is clear that the collecting element 111 can freely slide along the elongated body 110 between the first retaining element 112 and the second retaining element 113.

[0265] Figure 4 shows clearly what happens with a progressive translation of the second retaining element 113 from the second position P2 to the first position P1 : it gradually approaches the collecting element 111 , and then gradually compresses it, reducing its volume and determining so the leakage at least partial of the sample herein contained (drop symbols in figure 4).

[0266] The progressive translation of the second retaining element 113 is due to the fact that it is configured for being coupled to, and moved by, a striker 202, preferably being part of, or coupled to, a container 200 comprising a cavity for housing at least part of the device for collecting samples 100 and for housing and / or retaining at least part of the said sample when released from said at least one first collecting element 111.

[0267] In a non-limiting embodiment, in use the second retaining element 113 interacts with the striker 202. This interaction will determine a translation of the second retaining element 113 and / or of at least part of the first collecting element 111, along the elongated body 110, and / or will determine a rotation of the second retaining element 113 and / or of at least part of the first collecting element 111 , around, or on, said elongated body 110.

[0268] The first collecting element 111 naturally tends to reposition itself in the at least partially expanded configuration B and in particular in a fully expanded configuration D.

[0269] Then, the compressed and / or twisted configuration A is instable and is kept only when a force exerted by the second retaining element 113 compresses the collecting element 111 toward the first retaining element 112.

[0270] In an embodiment, independently of the fact that the first collecting element 111 is in said at least partially expanded configuration B, and the first collecting element 111 is in said fully expanded configuration D, the second retaining element 113 can be in a position distanced with respect to the said first collecting element 111. More precisely, in at least one among the pre-compressed and / or pre-twisted configuration C, the at least partially expanded configuration B and the fully expanded configuration D said at least one first collecting element 111 is freely movable between said first retaining element 112 and said second retaining element 113.

[0271] The at least one first collecting element 111 is realized in a spongy material and is preferably realized in a polymeric material, in particular a plastic material. A particular embodiment of the at least one first collecting element 111 is realized in polyurethanic material. Alternatively, or in combination, the material with which is realized the at least one first collecting element 111 can be melaminic and / or cellulose and / or polyvinyl alcohol Further types of materials with which the at least one first collecting element 111 can be realized comprise inorganic materials, for example metallic or ceramic materials. The at least one first collecting element 111 can be an active or passive absorption element. An element with active absorption is able to exert a chemical and / or mechanical suction action such as to promote the storage and subsequent retention of the sample, up to compression and / or twist. A passive absorption element can be simply filled, in particular soaked, with a sample and retain it.

[0272] The at least one at least partially expanded configuration and / or the fully expanded configuration can be a resting configuration, that in particular is obtained when the collecting element 111 has absorbed and / or retains said sample, in particular in liquid form.

[0273] In the case of applications for urine collection, the at least one collecting element 111 must be able to collect at least one volume equal to 80ml, or 100ml, or 120ml, or 150ml

[0274] The transition from the pre-compressed and / or pre-twisted configuration C to the at least partially expanded configuration B and subsequently to the fully expanded configuration D happens gradually, and in particular occurs progressively with the exposition of the collecting element 111 to the sample. In a particular embodiment, the at least one collecting element 111 is introduced in a container containing urine, and progressively expands from the precompressed and / or pre-twisted configuration C toward the fully expanded configuration D gradually absorbing a greater volume of urine.

[0275] In an embodiment, at least one between the at least partially expanded configuration B and the fully expanded configuration D can be indicative of the reaching of an adequate volume of sample retained in the collecting element 111 for the purposes for which the sample is collected (for example, bacteriological analysis in urines, testing for occult blood, measurement of uric acid in urines, etc...).

[0276] In an embodiment, the fully expanded configuration D can be indicative of the reaching of a maximum volume of sample retained in the collecting element 111.

[0277] The passage to the fully expanded configuration D can be optically detected by the substantial absence of undulations present on the lateral perimeter surface of the collecting element 111 and / or by the absence of further enlargement of the latter despite the passing of time in contact with the sample. This configuration is schematically shown in figure 10.

[0278] A peculiar embodiment of the device 100 comprises a visual marker that is configured for indicating the reaching of a predetermined absorption and / or retention of the sample of biological and / or microbiological material and / or of urine. In particular, the visual marker can indicate the maximum absorption and / or the maximum retention. The visual marker can be a visual marker indicative of the maximum absorption and / or maximum retention for only the first collecting element 111 , or for only the second collecting element, or can be used for indicating the maximum absorption and / or retention realizable by the assembly formed by the first and second collecting element.

[0279] The Applicant has conceived a plurality of specific embodiments wherein the visual marker is arranged on the at least one first collecting element 111, on the elongated body 110 or on both of the two elements herein mentioned. In a first configuration, which for example is the one wherein the first collecting element 111 has not yet managed to absorb and / or retain the predetermined quantity of sample of biological and / or microbiological material and / or urine, the visual marker can be hidden and not visible to the user.

[0280] In a second configuration, alternative to the first and which for example is the one wherein the first collecting element 111 has managed to absorb and / or retain the predetermined quantity of sample of biological and / or microbiological material and / or urine, the visual marker can be visible, and remains visible all the time wherein the predetermined quantity of sample of biological and / or microbiological material and / or urine remains retained in the at least one first collecting element 111.

[0281] This situation is realized, for example when the visual marker is a graphical sign arranged on the outer surface of the at least one first collecting element 111, or is a protrusion or recess of the outer surface of the at least one first collecting element 111 , and becomes visible due to the progressive expansion of the latter deriving from the absorption of a sample of an appropriate quantity. For example, where a notch of a differentiated color is positioned on the at least one first collecting element 111 , the progressive expansion of said first collecting element 111 can reduce afold wherein such notch was hidden, and make it visible upon reaching said predetermined quantity of sample.

[0282] In some embodiments, the absence of wrinkles on the outer surface of the at least one first collecting element 111 can be indicative of the reaching of said predetermined amount, and in particular can be indicative of the maximum absorption and / or maximum retention of the sample.

[0283] In a further embodiment the visual marker is arranged on the elongated body 110: in this case, the progressive expansion of the first collecting element 111 deriving from the absorption of a sample or urine can determine that at the reaching of a predetermined quantity of sample or urine the visual marker (for example a differently colored notch with respect to the color of the elongated body 110, or a protrusion or recess of the elongated body) can become hidden by collecting element 111, which gradually comes to cover the portion of elongated body 110 in correspondence of which the visual marker is present.

[0284] In an embodiment, the collecting element 111 detects a substantially circular profile if observed in plan view. This technical characteristic is particularly useful for adapting the profile of the collecting element 111 to the shape of the container which will contain it in use, typically with a circular transversal section.

[0285] When in at least partially expanded configuration B or in fully expanded configuration D, the overall shape of the collecting element 111 is substantially cylindrical.

[0286] In an embodiment, the collecting element 111 can be visually in the fully expanded configuration D even without being saturated with sample, and i.e. even without containing the maximum quantity of sample allowable as a function of the chemical and / or physical characteristics of the collecting element 111.

[0287] As shown in the attached figures, in the passage from pre-compressed and / or pre-twisted configuration C to the at least partially expanded configuration B, or more precisely to the fully expanded configuration D, the at least one collecting element 111 expands mainly along a direction that is axial with the elongated body 110. A minimum expansion can also exist in a radial direction, therefore in a direction orthogonal with respect to the direction mainly detected by the elongated body 110. This minimum expansion can also be completely absent.

[0288] A particular embodiment of the first collecting element 111 does not absorb more sample parts when passing through the compressed and / or twisted configuration A to a further at least partially expanded configuration B, or to a further fully expanded configuration D. This technical feature prevents that part of the sample already deposited on the bottom of the container 200 is reabsorbed again following the movement of the second retaining element 113 toward the end portion of the elongated body 110.

[0289] Figure 5 shows a second embodiment of a device for collecting samples 100. The embodiment of figure 5 has multiple characteristics in common with the embodiment already described in figures 1-4, therefore they are not repeated.

[0290] Unlike the embodiment of figures 1-4, the device for collecting samples 100 in accordance with the embodiment of figure 5 has a first retaining element 112 for the collecting element 111 that is realized in the shape of a plate, realized in a monolithic way as a part of the elongated body 110. The plate is in the first portion 114 of the elongated body 110 and separates the gripping portion 122 from the collecting element 111.

[0291] It is noted that the gripping portion 122 does not have, in this case, a diameter greater with respect to the diameter of the remaining portion of the elongated body 110 Therefore, the function of the first retaining element 112 is also the one of preventing the slipping of the collecting element 111 from the head portion of the elongated body

[0292] It is noted that in figure 5 there is the presence of a first and a second collecting element 111 , sleeved on the elongated body 110. These first and second collecting element 111 can be removably constrained to the elongated body 110 in a way other than the one represented in figure. In figure 5 the first and the second collecting element 111 are in the pre-compressed and / or pre-twisted configuration C.

[0293] The two collecting elements 111 for the absorption or collection of the sample, pass in an automatic and substantially simultaneous way from the pre-compressed and / or pre-twisted configuration to the at least partially expanded configuration, optionally to the fully expanded configuration.

[0294] In a non-limiting embodiment, the time of expansion of the first collecting element and of the second collecting element, for passing from the pre-compressed and / or pre-twisted configuration to a configuration of equal partial expansion, or to their respective fully expanded configuration, is the same.

[0295] If the device object of the present disclosure is provided with a first and a second collecting element, it is clear that in use, when the second retaining element 113 interacts with the striker 202, this interaction will determine a translation of the second retaining element 113 and / or of at least part of the first collecting element 111 and of at least part of the second collecting element 111, along the elongated body 110, and / or will determine a rotation of the second retaining element 113 and / or of at least part of the first collecting element 111 and of the second collecting element 111, around, or on, said elongated body 110. Preferably the translation and / or rotation of the first collecting element 111 and of the second collecting element 111 take place simultaneously.

[0296] It is also noted that the present description properly describes the compressed and / or twisted configuration A since the Applicant has conceived a non-limiting embodiment of the device for collecting samples 100 wherein the action joined of the first retaining element 112 and of the second retaining element 113 causes only a twist of the at least one first collecting element 111. In this embodiment the first position P1 and the second position P2 differ by a relative rotation between the first retaining element 112 and the second retaining element 113; the latter does not slide in relation to the elongated body 110.

[0297] Figure 6 shows a further embodiment of the device for collecting samples 100 This embodiment too has multiple technical characteristics in common with those previously described, and therefore not repeated.

[0298] The device for collecting samples 100 in this embodiment comprises a stopper 121 positioned in correspondence of an end of the elongated body 110. In particular, the stopper 121 is in correspondence of a first end of the first portion 114 of the elongated body.

[0299] In a non-limiting embodiment, the stopper 121 is realized in plastic material, and can be conveniently realized with the same production process of molding, in particular by injection, used to produce the elongated body 110. This technical characteristic promotes a limitation of production costs and allows to speed up the production process of the device herein described.

[0300] Alternatively, in correspondence of the terminal end of the first portion 114 of the elongated body 110 can be present a threaded portion or a snap coupling that allows to constrain, and preferably release operatively, the stopper 121 from the elongated body itself. By "operatively releasing” is intended releasing during a normal handling or assembly.

[0301] In figure 6 is shown a particular embodiment of the stopper 121. In this embodiment, the stopper 121 is configured for being screwed on a sample container. The stopper of figure 6 can be a screw stopper

[0302] The stopper 121 has a cavity and a lateral wall the inner surface thereof can have a threading.

[0303] The stopper 121 acts as first retaining element 112 for the collecting element 111. In light of the above, it is therefore clear that it is not necessary that the first retaining element 112, although in an operatively fixed position with respect to the elongated body 110, is unmovable with respect to the latter.

[0304] By “operatively fixed position” is intended a fixed position during at least one normal condition of use. The retention element 112 can be removable from the elongated body 110, in particular during an assembly or disassembly condition of the device herein described.

[0305] The device for collecting samples 100 object of the present disclosure also can comprise a stopping element 120, that is configured for preventing a separation of said second retaining element 113 from the elongated body 110. When the stopping element 120 is present, the at least one first collecting element 111 is operatively irremovably constrained to the elongated body 110, that is: although sliding on the elongated body 110 cannot be physically separated from the elongated body 110 in a totally disconnected way.

[0306] This technical characteristic allows to avoid the accidental loss of the elongated body 110. Clearly, by forcing it, it is possible to remove the collecting element 111, in particular where one wants to make the device non-operational.

[0307] The stopping element 120 realizes an element on which the stroke of the second retaining element 113 ends. In an embodiment, the second position P2 can be thus an end-stroke position for the striker 113.

[0308] Specifically, figure 7 shows an embodiment wherein the stopping element 120 is in the form of an enlarged portion of the elongated body. Figure 7 shows a stopping element 120 whose shape is such that, as one moves from a free end of the elongated body 110 toward a central portion of the elongated body 110, the transversal section detected by the stopping element 120 along a plane orthogonal to the axis Y of longitudinal development of the elongated body 110 increases. This form, that by observing figure 7 makes the stopping element 120 appear as a truncated cone portion of the elongated body 110 tapering towards the end of the elongated body itself, promotes the insertion of the second retaining element 113 on the elongated body 110, allowing the second retaining element to be sleeved on the elongated body.

[0309] During the assembly step, the second retaining element 113 is introduced on the elongated body 110 in correspondence of the central hole. Upon contact with the most tapered portion of the stopping element 120, the central hole of the second retaining element 113 it gradually dilates more and more until it exceeds the maximum extension of the stopping element 120. The dilation is temporary and substantially elastic, and when the stopping element 120 has exceeded the central hole, it regains at least partially a dimension substantially equal to the starting one or however detects a smaller area with respect to the transversal section of the stopping element 120 that prevents the slipping of the second retaining element 113.

[0310] In figure 7, although lying in the second portion 115, the second retaining element 113 is in an intermediate position of the elongated body 110 and is not in substantial proximity to the lower end of the elongated body 110.

[0311] In figure 8 is shown an alternative embodiment of the stopping element 120. Here first of all it is noted that the stopping element is positioned in correspondence of, and in particular is integrating part of, the terminal part of the elongated body 110.

[0312] It is noted that the terminal part of the elongated body 110, identified in the attached figures by the reference 110e, is the part that in use is the first one to be introduced within the container 200. This ending part is also the one that is opposite to the portion of elongated body 110 in correspondence of which there is the gripping portion or the stopper.

[0313] In figure 8 the stopping element 120 is realized in the shape of a spear tip and has deformable fins in correspondence of a predefined portion thereof (rear end, opposed to the tip) to promote the introduction of the second retaining element 113 on the elongated body 110. Also in this case, the shape of the stopping element 120 is such that, as one moves from a free end of the elongated body 110 toward a central portion of the elongated body 110, the transversal section detected by the stopping element 120 along a plane orthogonal to the axis Y of longitudinal development of the elongated body 110 increases.

[0314] It is then clear that the stopping element 120 develops along a substantially oblique direction, and preferably orthogonal, with respect to the axis Y.

[0315] Also in this case, the dilation of the central hole is temporary and substantially elastic, and when the stopping element 120 has exceeded the central hole, it regains at least partially a dimension substantially equal to the starting one or however detects a smaller area with respect to the transversal section of the stopping element 120 that prevents the slipping of the second retaining element 113

[0316] Further embodiments not shown of the stopping element 120 can include:

[0317] - a tooth realized on the elongated body 110, and protruding obliquely, preferably orthogonally, with respect to the maximum development direction of the elongated body 110 (axis Y);

[0318] - a ring inserted by elastic deformation in a recess made in the second portion 115 of the elongated body 110.

[0319] It is noted that this ring can be operatively removed from the elongated body 110 in order to allow the extraction of the second retaining element 113 from the elongated body 110.

[0320] It is then clear that the stopping element 120 can be operatively removed from the elongated body 110 and is therefore removably connected to the latter.

[0321] This ring can be free of rotational characteristic in relation to the elongated body 110.

[0322] The purpose of the stopping element 120 is to prevent that the second retaining element 113 can reach a third position P3 with respect to said first retaining element 112. The third position P3 lies at a distance with respect to said first retaining element 112 that is greater with respect to the distance that exists between said first retaining element 112 and said second retaining element 113 when the second retaining element 113 lies in the second position P2 with respect to the first retaining element 112.

[0323] Figure 9 shows a further embodiment of the device for collecting samples 100 object of the present disclosure.

[0324] Similarly to the already described embodiments, it comprises an elongated body 110 the characteristics thereof have already been described and therefore are not repeated.

[0325] Also the embodiment of figure 9 comprises a first retaining element 112 and a second retaining element 113. The first retaining element 112 is integrating part of the elongated body 110 and is arranged in said first portion 114 of the elongated body itself.

[0326] The device for collecting samples 100 comprises a stopper 121 configured for coupling by screwing on a container 200. The container 200 has sufficient axial extension for containing the entire elongated body 110 without substantial deformations. The first retaining element 112, preferably in the shape of a disc extending orthogonally with respect to the axial development direction of the elongated body 110, is positioned at a predefined distance from the stopper 121 and thus at a predefined distance from the end portion of the elongated body which is connected with the stopper 121 .

[0327] Externally the stopper 121 comprises ribs that realize a gripping portion 122 for the device herein described.

[0328] The embodiment of figure 9 comprises a first collecting element 111 and a second collecting element 111. The first and the second collecting element 111 are sleeved on the elongated body 110. Some of the characteristics of the first and of the second collecting element 111 have already been described and therefore are not repeated.

[0329] In the embodiment of figure 9 the first and the second collecting element 111 are of equal size. Both have a substantially circular profile in plan view, and when in said at least partially expanded configuration B or in said fully expanded configuration D, have a substantially cylindrical shape.

[0330] Figure 9 shows the presence of a stopping element 120 positioned in correspondence of the end portion of the elongated body 110. The characteristics of the stopping element 120 have already been described and therefore are not repeated.

[0331] The first retaining element 112 is arranged in an angular predefined and fixed position on said elongated body 110. The second retaining element 113 is rotatably installed on said elongated body 110.

[0332] The device for collecting samples 100 is configured for permitting a rotation of the second retaining element 113 with respect to said first retaining element 112 on said axis corresponding or parallel to the axis of the elongated body 110 upon the transition between the second position P2 and the first position P1.

[0333] Further variants of the device for collecting samples 100 herein described can comprise particular conformations of the elongated body 110 (recesses or prominent helical portions) that determine the rotation of the second retaining element 113 with respect to the first retaining element 112, and thus with respect to the elongated body 110 upon a transition of the position assumed by said second retaining element 113 with respect to said first retaining element 112 between said second position P2 and said first position P1.

[0334] As will become increasingly clear from the following description, the rotation of the second retaining element 113 with respect to the first retaining element 112 and / or to the elongated body 110 determines a twist of the at least one first collecting element 111, that is thus squeezed. This twist promotes a completion of extraction of the sample from the collecting element 111 , in particular since it can occur substantially simultaneously with the axial compression of the first and of the second collecting element 111 the latter deriving from an approaching of the second retaining element to the first retaining element.

[0335] Figures 11 and 12 show a lateral view and in lateral section of the container 200 that is destined to be coupled to the device herein described.

[0336] The container 200 is substantially in the form of a test tube, and has a noticeably elongated shape along a main development direction detected by the axis X. The container 200 has a single opening 206 on the cavity 201. On the lateral wall, near the opening 206, there is a threading 207 (engaging element) which, together with a striker ring 208 realizes an engaging element with the stopper 121.

[0337] The engaging element can be different from a threading, and for example comprise an element such as to allow a closure of the container through the stopper by means of the so-called ‘‘snap fitting”.

[0338] The container 200 has a transversal section with a circular plan view section. A lateral wall of the container 200 extends from the head portion to the bottom portion in correspondence thereof the container is sensibly tapered, in the shape of a truncated cone. A bottom wall 209 is connected to the lateral wall and has a tapering that closes on the axis X of the container itself. The bottom wall 209 detects a substantially “V” shape, if observed in lateral section. Alternatively, in a non-limiting embodiment, it can detect a substantially “U” shape.

[0339] Preferably, but non-limiting thereto, the container 200 comprises a leaning portion 210 configured for keeping an upright position of the container 200 when leaned.

[0340] The upright position is such that a longitudinal development direction of said container 200 is substantially orthogonal to a leaning plane.

[0341] As it is clear at least from figure 12, the leaning portion 210 develops as extension of said lateral wall. The leaning portion 210 is configured for keeping said bottom wall 209 at a predefined distance from the leaning plane. Observed from below, in a direction parallel to the direction of the axis X, the leaning portion 210 appears as a circumference in contact with the leaning plane.

[0342] Conveniently, the container 200 is realized in plastic material. Preferably, but non-limiting thereto, the container 200 is realized in at least partially transparent or anyway translucent material.

[0343] In an embodiment that is not to be intended as limiting, the container 200 can comprise a visual marker that is configured for being comparatively coupled to the at least one first collecting element 111 and / or to the elongated body 110 for viewing if the at least one first collecting element 111, for example by means of an extension thereof in expansion along the direction detected by the elongated body 110, has reached the predetermined (optionally maximum) absorption and / or retention of the sample of biological and / or microbiological material and / or of urine.

[0344] The above-mentioned comparative coupling can take place side-by-side of the device 100 to the container 200, in particular to the lateral wall of the latter, upon which the visual marker can be conveniently arranged. Alternatively, the comparative coupling can result from an at least partial introduction of the device 100 in the container 200.

[0345] Also in this case the visual marker can be a graphical sign, for example, a notch of a suitably different color with respect to the color assumed by the lateral wall of the container 200, and / or be a protrusion or a recess.

[0346] In use, if the device for collecting samples 100 is coupled to the container 200, in particular if said device for collecting samples 100 is side-by-side to, or at least partially introduced within, said container 200: - when the first collecting element 111 has absorbed and / or retains a predetermined, optionally maximum, quantity of said sample of biological and / or microbiological material and / or of urine, the at least one visual marker is aligned to or superimposed on, and / or hidden from, the first collecting element 111,

[0347] - when the first collecting element 111 has not absorbed, or has released, and / or does not retain said predetermined, optionally maximum, quantity of sample of biological and / or microbiological material and / or of urine, the at least one visual marker is misaligned with respect to, or is not superimposed on, and / or is made visible by, the first collecting element 111.

[0348] The container 200 realizes a striker 202 configured and specifically destined to allow at least one transition from said at least partially expanded configuration B to said compressed and / or twisted configuration A for said at least one first collecting element 111 upon an introduction of said device for collecting samples 100 in said cavity 201

[0349] Preferably, the transition is substantially progressive, and is in particular substantially progressive as the device for collecting samples 100 is introduced within the container 200.

[0350] The striker 202 is irremovably fixed to the, or is integrating part of the, container 200. Preferably the container 200 is realized through a molding process, preferably an injection molding process.

[0351] In the embodiment of figure 11 and of figure 12 the lateral wall does not have a development parallel to the axis X, but on the contrary is slightly inclined with respect to the latter. The lateral wall has substantially a uniform thickness. Consequently, the inner face 203 of the lateral wall represents the portion on which the second retaining element 113 engages.

[0352] The lateral wall of the container 200 has a predefined inclination cp with respect to the main development axis X of the container 200.

[0353] The inclination <p determines a tapering of said container 200 which promotes the engagement in rotation of the second retaining element 113 and which prevents the second retaining element 113 to introduce itself beyond a determined depth in the cavity 201, indirectly determining a sliding of the latter on the elongated body 110.

[0354] In the embodiment of figure 11 and 12, the inclination cp is equal to 0,26°; preferably the inclination cp is less than 2° or less than 1 ° or less than 0,5° with respect to the axis X.

[0355] More in detail, in the embodiment of figures 11 and 12, not the entire longitudinal extension of the lateral wall has the inclination <p with respect to the axis X.

[0356] The portion of lateral wall where it is present the threading 207 and the striker ring 208 is cylindrical. The extension of the lateral wall is thus parallel to the axis X, in this portion.

[0357] Continuing towards the bottom portion of the container 200, the lateral wall assumes said inclination cp with respect to the axis X. The inclination can be constant (as in the case of the embodiment of figure 11 and 12) or be variable. In an embodiment is anyway preferable that at least one predefined portion 221 of the lateral wall of the container 200 has said inclination rp with respect to the axis X. This predefined portion 221 extends for at least the 30% or the 40% or at least the 50% of the overall longitudinal extension of the container 200. It is evident that in the embodiment of figure 12 the predefined portion 221 extends for far longer than the 50% of the overall longitudinal extension of the container 200.

[0358] Alternatively, the lateral wall can have a non-uniform thickness; the thickness can increase as the depth within the cavity 201 increases, thus toward the bottom portion of the container 200. Consequently, in this embodiment the transversal section overall detected by the outer face of the lateral wall is constant and the container 200 can assume a cylindrical shape. However, the inner face 203 of the lateral wall continues to assume an inclination <p with respect to the axis X.

[0359] Figure 13 shows a sectional lateral view of an alternative embodiment of a container 200. Also in this case the container 200 has a single opening 206 on the cavity 201. A threading 207, in proximity of the opening, together with a striker ring 208 realizes an engaging element with the stopper 121.

[0360] The threading 207 is an outer threading.

[0361] The engaging element can be different from a threading, and for example comprise an element such as to allow a closure of the container through the stopper through so-called "snap fitting”.

[0362] The container 200 can preferably comprise a bottom wall 209 and / or a leaning portion 210 already described and therefore not repeated herein

[0363] In the embodiment of figure 13 the container 200 has a substantially cylindrical conformation. Thus, at least the outer surface of the lateral wall is parallel to the axis X.

[0364] In correspondence of the inner face 203 of the lateral wall is present a ring that protrudes in substantially orthogonal direction with respect to the main development direction of the lateral wall, i.e. in substantially orthogonal direction with respect to the axis X. This ring realizes an alternative embodiment of the striker 202.

[0365] The ring extends uninterruptedly on the inner face 203 and has a contact surface with the second retaining element 113. This contact surface is an upper surface, in particular a head surface.

[0366] The contact surface can be a surface orthogonal with respect to a portion of the inner face of the lateral wall which is locally close to the striker 202.

[0367] Alternatively, the contact portion of the striker 202 detects a contact surface which can be inclined towards the bottom portion of the container 200.

[0368] As a result of the molding, the lateral wall that includes the ring that realizes the striker 202 is realized in a single production process where the material uninterruptedly extends. This promotes particular strength for this ring, even if it has a reduced size. The injection molding ensures a substantial uniformity and / or density of material on the lateral wall, including the portions of the lateral wall that include the striker 202, this structural characteristic being tangible, for example, by carrying out a section of the lateral wall itself.

[0369] In use, as the device for collecting samples 100 is introduced in the cavity 201 , the second retaining element 113 approaches more and more the striker 202 of the container, until coming in contact with the latter.

[0370] The second retaining element 113 therefore flows relatively to the elongated body 110 and progressively approaches the first retaining element 112; depending on the configurations, the second retaining element 113, sliding relatively to the elongated body 110 can approach more and more to the collecting element 111 in at least partially expanded B or fully expanded D configuration

[0371] The striker 202 can be configured for preventing the relative rotation between the second retaining element 113 and the inner face 203 of the lateral wall of the container 200.

[0372] As shown in figure 15, the progressive screwing of the stopper 121 on the threading 207 of the head of the container 200 forces in rotation the elongated body 110 with a rotation angle equal to the rotation angle of the stopper 121 with respect to the container 200.

[0373] Similarly, the progressive screwing of the stopper 121 on the threading 207 forces in rotation the first retaining element 112 with said rotation angle equal to the rotation angle of the stopper 121 with respect to the container 200.

[0374] However, the second retaining element 113 cannot rotate with respect to the container 200 because of the engagement on the striker 202. Consequently the second retaining element 113 is forced into rotation with respect to the elongated body 110 and with respect to the first retaining element 112. Figure 15 through the helical-shaped arrow that wraps around the axis Y well represents this situation. The combination of a roto-translatory motion (thus of simultaneous axial translation along the axis Y and of rotation around the axis Y) that the elongated body 110 and the first retaining element 112 have with respect to the second retaining element 113 follows the pitch of the threading 207.

[0375] Figure 16 clearly shows, although with an angle of inclination <p exaggerated for reasons of clarity of representation, that between the second retaining element 113 and the inner face 203 of the lateral wall of the container 200 takes place a contact of "interference insertion” (sliding friction, or insertion by interference) with sliding friction developing on a lower and perimeter edge of the second retaining element 113; this sliding friction has a component axial to the axis Y (thus axial to the axis X of the container 200, which ideally coincides with the axis Y) and a component orthogonal and tangential with respect to the latter axis.

[0376] This roto-translatory motion promotes not only the compression but also the twist of the at least one collecting element 111.

[0377] In order to promote the above-mentioned technical effect, a peculiar embodiment of the device for collecting samples 100 has auxiliary elements suitable for promoting the friction on the at least one collecting element 111. Figure 14 shows this embodiment. In particular the first retaining element 112 and the second retaining element 113 comprise engaging elements in the form of teeth substantially extending along a direction substantially oblique, in particular almost orthogonal, with respect to the main development direction of the elongated body 110.

[0378] The engaging elements constitute an engaging portion 118 of the first retaining element 112 and of the second retaining element 113. The engaging portion 118 is configured for introducing within the collecting element 111 contiguous to it and / or for deforming the collecting element 111. Clearly the engaging portion 118 is monolithic on the respective first retaining element 112 and second retaining element 113.

[0379] Thus, the above-described relative rotation between the first and the second retaining element determines a corresponding relative rotation of the engaging portions. In the embodiment specifically shown in figure 14 this means that the upper portion of the first collecting element 111 (element at the top) will be retained by the teeth of the first retaining element 112 (teeth that extend downwards). The lower portion of the second collecting element 111 (element at the bottom) is retained in rotation by the teeth of the second retaining element 113 (teeth that extend upwards).

[0380] Consequently, these teeth tend to twist the lower portion with respect to the upper portion of the collecting elements 111.

[0381] Between the first and the second collecting element 111 , a sliding friction develops on a plane almost orthogonal to the main development direction of the elongated body 110. This sliding friction develops in particular between the lower end portion of the first collecting element 111 (element at the top) and the upper end portion of the second collecting element 111 (element at the bottom).

[0382] Figures 17 and 18 respectively show a first and a second sectional lateral view of a container 200 coupled to an auxiliary stopper 300.

[0383] The auxiliary stopper 300 can be configured for definitively plugging the container 200 in particular after the removal of the device for collecting samples 100.

[0384] The auxiliary stopper 300 can assume different conformations, some of which are hereinafter described. A first conformation is the one of a pierceable and self-sealing stopper, and is represented in figure 17. The auxiliary stopper 300 is preferably configured for screwing on the threading 207 of the head of the container 200.

[0385] The auxiliary stopper 300 comprises a membrane 302 pierceable by a piercer, preferably a plurality of times, and configured for resealing again upon a removal of said piercer. The membrane is a membrane in soft material for example realized in synthetic rubber or silicone. The piercer can be for example a needle of a syringe, for example a needle of a syringe for pipetting.

[0386] The membrane 302 realizes a substantially flat head portion of the auxiliary stopper 300 and can optionally be covered by a removable seal, for example in aluminum or equivalent metallic material and / or in plastic material.

[0387] A second conformation of the auxiliary stopper 300 is shown in figure 18. In this case the auxiliary stopper is a releasing stopper, comprising a first portion 303 configured for being coupled directly on the threading of the container 200 and at least one reservoir 305 openable to release an auxiliary substance within said container 200. This auxiliary substance can be for example a reagent or a preservative agent.

[0388] Optionally, and in accordance with the specific embodiment of figure 18, the releasing stopper comprises a movable second portion 304, in particular translating or rotating or roto-translating with respect to said first portion 303.

[0389] In use a relative movement between the first portion 303 and the second portion 304 determines or promotes the release of the auxiliary substance within the container 200.

[0390] With specific reference to figure 18A, a specific embodiment of the device object of the present disclosure is such that a dimensional ratio between the extension of the cavity of the container 200 along the axis Y and the length of the device for collecting samples 100, in particular the axial extension of the elongated body 110, between a first end portion B thereof and a second end portion A thereof, is such that when this device for collecting samples 100 is introduced within the container 200, a first end portion B thereof comes into contact with the bottom wall 209 of the container 200; the bottom wall 209 delimits the cavity of the container itself along a direction preferably substantially oblique with respect to the lateral wall of the container 200.

[0391] With the coupling of the releasing stopper on the threading 207, the second end A firstly comes into contact with, and subsequently pushes against, a dividing septum 306 of the releasing stopper, by moving or breaking it and determining an opening of the reservoir 305, which otherwise would be closed.

[0392] The dividing septum can comprise a weakening portion destined to promote the opening of the reservoir 305.

[0393] Conveniently, the above mentioned first end can correspond to the bottom portion of the second portion 115 of the elongated body 110; the second end can conveniently correspond to the head portion (part of the first portion 114) of the elongated body.

[0394] It is thus clear that the present disclosure describes at least one embodiment of the device for collecting samples 100 wherein the elongated body 110 is configured for coming into contact with, and for fracturing or otherwise opening, a reservoir 305 of a releasing stopper.

[0395] In an embodiment, at least one between the container 200 and the device for collecting samples 100 comprises a preservative and / or bacteriostatic substance S, destined to increase the duration of the sample without any particular alterations.

[0396] In a particular embodiment the preservative substance S is destined to limit, preferably prevent, an overgrowth or death of bacterial species typical of urine. Therefore, the preservative and / or bacteriostatic substance S can be a bacteriostatic substance.

[0397] Preferably, the preservative substance S is introduced in the cavity 201 and is destined to come into contact with the sample released by the collecting element 111 in the cavity 201 .

[0398] Preferably the preservative and / or bacteriostatic substance S is in form of salts. During the production step, on the inner face of the lateral wall of the container 200, a saline solution is sprayed that contains said salts. The liquid portion is then evaporated (preferably, by heating the container 200), and the salts remain attached to the inner face 203 and / or to the bottom wall of the cavity 201. Thus, under operating conditions, the bacteriostatic substance S can be prevalently, preferably entirely, of a solid type.

[0399] In use, the percolation of the sample extracted from the collecting element 111 poses said sample in contact with salts and forms a solution of urine / preservative and / or bacteriostatic substance S which deposits on the bottom of the container 200. Specifically in case of the sample of urine, the urine percolating from the collecting element 111 washes the salts fixed to the inner face 203, and causes the detachment from the latter and the dissolution thereof.

[0400] The spraying of salts on the inner face 203 of the lateral wall allows to have a large contact area on which depositing a corresponding large quantity of salts.

[0401] Preferably the salts are deposited at a depth of the container 200 not reachable by the user, and this allows to avoid the contact of the salts with the fingers.

[0402] Figure 19 shows a particular embodiment of the second retaining element and of the first retaining element. Figure 20 shows a plan view, from above, of the second retaining element. In this case, the second retaining element 113 comprises an outer and / or peripheral annular portion 113e substantially hollow and joined to an end of at least one arm 113b that protrudes toward a portion radially inside the outer and / or peripheral annular portion 113e. In the specific embodiment of figure 19, there are a first and a second arm 113b substantially the one opposed with respect to the other.

[0403] The at least one arm 113b comprises an end portion that is arranged in a good proximity to a center of the outer and / or peripheral annular portion 113e. In correspondence of this end portion is present an engaging element 113k which is configured for engaging on the elongated body 110.

[0404] In the specific embodiment of figure 19, the two counterposed arms 113b, each one with its own engaging element 113k, in use engage on the elongated body 110 in correspondence of two portions thereof substantially opposed and preferably aligned on a same plane orthogonal with respect to the direction detected by the development axis of the elongated body 110 itself

[0405] The mechanical construction of the second retaining element 113 is such as to ensure a sufficient elasticity of the first and of the second arm 113b, such as to determine the possibility of a reciprocal distancing of the two engaging elements 113k. This distancing on a direction U substantially aligned in the direction orthogonal to the development axis of the elongated body 110, allows the second retaining element 113 to pass through the stopping element 120.

[0406] In particular, when the second retaining element 113 is approached to the stopping element 120, the two engaging elements 113k progressively distance themselves from each other as the diameter of the stopping element 120 increases; the previously described elasticity allows the repositioning of the two engaging elements 113k at a lower reciprocal distance, when the stopping element 120 has been exceeded. Therefore, it is not necessary to provide the elongated body 110 and / or the stopping element 120 with particular technical measures suitable for allowing a substantial deformability to promote the passage of the second retaining element 113 so that this can be sleeved on the elongated body 110. Thus, the elongated body 110, at least in proximity of the stopping element, and / or the stopping element 120, can be realized substantially in a single, solid piece.

[0407] Preferably although non-limiting thereto the first and the second arm are however subjected to a bending force when engaged on the elongated body 110.

[0408] Figure 19 shows engaging elements 113k provided, each one, with a recess of semicircular shape suitable for coupling with a half of the circumference detected by the elongated body 110 on a plane orthogonal to its development axis.

[0409] Inside the outer and / or peripheral annular portion, the two arms leave space for a first transit cavity 113t, which allows the passage of at least part of the sample through the second retaining element.

[0410] In figure 19, the two arms leave space for a first and a second transit cavity 113t; the first transit cavity and the second transit cavity are preferably of the same size and / or shape.

[0411] Although the outer and / or peripheral annular portion 113e is destined to operatively couple with a container 200 having circular inner section, the outer perimeter of the outer and / or peripheral annular portion 113e is not perfectly circular but has at least one concavity that detects an outer recess 113u that allows the passage of air and / or of sample between above and below the second retaining element 113. This technical characteristic advantageously allows to reduce the risk that pressures which retain the sample between the first retaining element 112 and the second retaining element 113 form.

[0412] In particular, the outer recess 113u cooperates with the above-described transit cavities 113t.

[0413] Preferably but non-limiting thereto the outer recesses 113u are counterposed.

[0414] In a non-limiting embodiment, the second retaining element 113 is configured for, and specifically destined to, promote the introduction of the device for collecting samples 100 within the container 200. To this purpose, the second retaining element 113 is of substantially countersunk shape.

[0415] In particular, a lower portion 113i of the second retaining element 113 has a smaller diameter with respect to an upper portion 113s thereof. Observed from the side, the second retaining element 113 assumes truncated-cone shape. The technical effect is thus the one of guiding the introduction of the device object of the present disclosure within the container 200 also if the axis of this latter is significantly inclined with respect to the axis of the elongated body 110 (see, in this regard, figure 20).

[0416] It is then clear that a specific embodiment of the device object of the present disclosure comprises a second retaining element 113 generally provided with at least one through-hole or cavity 113t, 113u for allowing the passage of at least part of said sample and / or of the air contained in said container 200. Preferably, the through-hole or cavity 113t, 113u being arranged in a radially outer, optionally perimetral, portion, of said second retaining element 113 and / or is arranged in a radially inner position of said second retaining element 113. Figure 19 shows a view of a particular embodiment of the first striker 112 The first striker 112, although destined to be introduced in a container 200 having circular inner section, does not have a substantially circular outer perimeter, but comprises a first and a second flap 112a that detect a first and a second recess 112b.

[0417] Preferably, the first and the second flap 112a are counterposed, and consequently also the first and the second recess are counterposed to each other, and aligned along a direction substantially orthogonal with respect to the direction that aligns the first flap with the second flap.

[0418] Also this embodiment has an engaging portion 118 in form of teeth that extend downward.

[0419] Specifically, the particular embodiment of the first striker 112 is realized in an integral way with the elongated body 110, preferably by means of a molding production process.

[0420] Preferably, but non-limiting thereto, a radially outer portion 112c of the first and of the second flap 112a has a radial distance Dr from the center of the elongated body 110 that is close to the inner diameter Di of the container 200. Thanks to this technical characteristic the first striker can act as a guide for the correct centering of the elongated body 110 in the container 200.

[0421] The second retaining element 113 can comprise an engaging portion 118 in form of element with lateral walls 118b destined to retain the at least one first collecting element 111 laterally, in particular in a laterally outer position thereof.

[0422] In a non-limiting embodiment, the lateral walls of the second retaining element 113 retain at least part of the collecting element 111 which is closest to the second retaining element 113. Preferably but non-limiting thereto, the lateral walls are L-shaped.

[0423] The lateral walls are each one arranged in correspondence of a radially outer portion of the respective arm 113b.

[0424] This shaping promotes the twist effect that exists on the at least one first collecting element 111 during its compression from the at least partially expanded configuration B to the at least partially compressed and / or twisted configuration A.

[0425] The container 200 can be at least partially transparent; this technical characteristic allows to visually verify, and thus in a simple way, an effective extraction of the sample from the at least one first collecting element 111.

[0426] Figures 21 , 22, 23 are relative to a particular embodiment of the container 200. In this embodiment, there is a plurality of strikers 202, which are configured for coming into contact with the second retaining element 113 in order to allow the transition from the at least partially expanded configuration B to the compressed and / or twisted configuration A.

[0427] The specific embodiment of figures 21, 22, 23 comprises three strikers 202, equally spaced from each other. The number of strikers 202 is non-limiting; the number of strikers 202 could be limited to one. Each one of the three strikers comprises an upper portion 211 (first end) and a lower portion (second end). The upper portion 211 of all the three strikers 202 lies at a same height with respect to the bottom of the container 200.

[0428] The upper portion of each one of the three strikers 202 detects a contact surface which can be substantially orthogonal with respect to the at least one portion of the inner face 203 of the lateral wall locally close to the strikers 202. This specific embodiment is shown in figure 23.

[0429] Alternatively, the upper portion of each one of the three strikers 202 detects a contact surface that can be inclined toward the bottom portion of the container 200. This specific embodiment is shown in the magnified view of figure 21.

[0430] The presence of a plurality of strikers 202, in particular equally spaced, promotes a uniform and distributed support for the second retaining element 113; this optimizes the translation function thereof along the elongated body 110.

[0431] The strikers 202 are highlighted on the inner face 203 of the lateral part of the container. In particular, in the embodiment herein described, the strikers are realized in an integral way with the lateral wall of the container 200.

[0432] In other terms, the lateral wall of the container 200 detects, in correspondence of an inner face 203, a plurality of strikers 202 for the second retaining element 113. For the purposes of the present disclosure, the strikers 202 can be considered portions of the lateral wall protruding towards a radially central portion of the container.

[0433] Preferably, the container 200 of this embodiment is realized in plastic material with molding technique, preferably injection molding. As a result of molding, the lateral wall that includes the strikers 202 is realized in a single production process where the material extends uninterruptedly. This promotes particular strength for the strikers 202 (or portions of the lateral wall), even if these latter are of reduced dimensions. Injection molding guarantees a substantial uniformity and / or density of material on the lateral wall, including the portions of the strikers 202, this structural characteristic being tangible, for example, by carrying out a section of the lateral wall itself.

[0434] The risk of disconnection between the portions of the lateral wall that act as striker 202 and the substantially cylindrical part of the lateral wall itself is significantly reduced with respect to other technical solutions wherein the strikers 202 are applied in a step of the production process that follows the injection molding step of the lateral wall of a container.

[0435] The realization of the plurality of strikers 202 through injection molding allows a great productive economy joined to quality.

[0436] The body of the container 200 can be at least partially substantially rigid, i.e. able to keep its shape and size almost unaltered when subjected to forces commonly present in the operative field.

[0437] The body of the container 200 can be at least partially substantially semi-rigid, i.e. alterable in an its own shape and / or size in a substantial way when subjected to forces commonly present in the operative field. Part of the body of the container 200 can be of a substantially flexible type, in particular elastically flexible. The container 200 can be of the sol-gel type, and in particular capable of releasing a culture medium.

[0438] It is noted that in the embodiment of figures 21 , 22, 23, the transversal section of the container 200 is constant along the portion of longitudinal extension that comprises the strikers themselves. In this embodiment, neither the inner face 203 nor the outer face of the lateral wall has any conicity.

[0439] The strikers 202 (or in case of a single unit, the single striker 202) is arranged in correspondence of a half-lower portion of the container 200.

[0440] The half-lower portion of the container 200 is ideally defined starting from an ideal line of half longitudinal extension along the axis X of the container 200 itself, and comprises the bottom of the container 200.

[0441] The half-upper portion of the container 200, conversely, is ideally defined starting from an ideal line of half longitudinal extension along the axis X of the container 200 itself, and comprises the opening of the container 200.

[0442] Supposing that:

[0443] - the transversal section defined by the inner face 203 of the lateral wall of the container 200 is substantially circular;

[0444] - the form of the second retaining element 113 along a plane orthogonal to the axis of longitudinal extension is circular.

[0445] The diameter maximum assumed by the second retaining element 113 can be so as to result:

[0446] - greater with respect to the diameter of an ideal circumference that is inscribed in and tangent to the radially innermost portions of the three strikers 202;

[0447] - lower with respect to the diameter of the ideal circumference that detects the inner face 203 of the lateral wall between one striker and another.

[0448] More generally, the transversal section of the inner face 203 has an area and a diameter greater with respect to the area and circumscription diameter of the second retaining element 113.

[0449] Thus, in correspondence of the strikers 202 the transversal section has a diameter equal to or less than the diameter of the second retaining element 113.

[0450] For this reason, also when the second retaining element 113 enters into mechanical contrast with the three strikers 202, between one striker and another there are channels 212, developing close to the inner face 203 of the lateral wall and delimited in a radially inner portion by the second retaining element 113 itself. These channels promote the passage of air and / or fluid, thus promoting the correct functioning of the device herein described, particularly during the compression and / or twist of the at least one first collecting element 111.

[0451] In figure 24 it is shown a particular embodiment of the device object of the present disclosure, introduced in the respective container 200. In figure 24 it is possible to observe that the lateral wall of the container 200 has an inner surface 201 i and an outer surface 201 o. The section of the container 200 is circular. The second retaining element 113 ha a discoidal form, with a substantially circular drawing. The diameter of the second retaining element 113 is lower with respect to the diameter detected by the inner surface 201 i of the lateral wall.

[0452] The main development axis of the device 100 is ideally coinciding with the main development axis of the container 200.

[0453] The dimensional ratio between the diameter of the second retaining element 113 and the diameter detected by the inner surface 201 i is such that exists a gap G, measured in a radial direction with respect to the main development axis of the device 100, that preferably is kept on the entire circumference. If the two main development axes of the device 100 and of the container 200 coincide, this gap G is constant along the entire circumference.

[0454] For example the gap G can be [3 - 0,5] mm, or [2,7 - 0,8] mm, or [2,5 - 1] mm or [2 - 1 ,5] mm.

[0455] The gap G allows the air / liquid to flow alongside the second retaining element 113, being able to pass from bottom to top of this latter and vice versa. Any air bubbles are thus not retained by the friction and contact between the outer perimeter portion of the second retaining element 113 and the inner surface 2011 of the lateral wall.

[0456] Figure 25 shows a lateral view of a portion of a particular embodiment of the device 100 object of the present disclosure. The second retaining element 113 comprises a first surface, or upper surface, facing the first retaining element and a second surface, or lower surface, facing in the opposite direction with respect to the first surface, and thus in the opposite direction with respect to the first retaining element 112. The second surface and the first surface are parallel.

[0457] The second surface has a crenellated profile, wherein a plurality of recesses 113r, in this case of a square shape, is interposed by a corresponding plurality of merlons.

[0458] The recesses 113r are arranged in a uniform way along the entire perimeter of the radially outer portion of the second surface of the second retaining element 113.

[0459] The recesses 113r are designed to be introduced into corresponding embossments 202t realized on the strikers 202 of the container.

[0460] It is not necessary that all the strikers 202 have embossments 202t; in particular, if the number of strikers 202 is high, at least part (for example, half) of the strikers 202 can be provided with embossments 202t; the other half can be without them.

[0461] The strikers 202 protrude in a radially inner direction from the inner surface 201 i of the lateral wall of the container. The embossments 202t are shown for example in figure 26 and in figure 27. The embossments 202t realize engaging elements that allow to retain in a rotationally fixed position the second retaining element 113 with the container 200, in at least one configuration of use wherein they are engaged in the recesses 113r. The engaging elements are also configured for permitting to guide in rotation the second retaining element 113 with respect to the elongated body 110 and / or with respect to the first retaining element 112. The container 200 can, for example, be provided with three equally spaced strikers 202 and identifying portions of inner surface 201 i, along the circumference arc (plane orthogonal to the main development axis of the container 200), free of striker.

[0462] The upper surface of each one of the strikers 202 is provided with at least one embossment 202t of counterposed form with respect to the recess 113r and configured for introducing in the latter.

[0463] In use, the progressive introduction of the device 100 within the container 200 determines the contact of the second retaining element 113 with the strikers 202. The embossments 202t are introduced into the respective recess 113r, and consequently prevent the movement in rotation of the second retaining element 113 with respect to the container 200.

[0464] The technical characteristic relating to the recesses 113r and respective embossments 202t can, for example, be present in combination with the technical characteristic relating to the presence of the gap G as above described.

[0465] Clearly, the above-described recess-embossment coupling can be reversed. The lower crenellated surface of the second striker element can be operatively coupled to recesses present on the strikers 202, wherein the recesses protrude in a radial direction with respect to the main development axis of the container.

[0466] The invention is not limited to the embodiments shown in the figures. For this reason, the numbers and reference signs in the claims are provided in order to increase the intelligibility of the claims, and are non-limiting.

[0467] Finally, it is clear that additions or modifications that are obvious to an expert in the art can be made to the object of the present disclosure, without for this reason departing from the scope of protection provided by the claims.
