The method comprises the steps of converting to-be-stored information into a corresponding bit sequence according to an information storage rule; expanding the color types of the two-dimensional code pixel points; setting a code group corresponding to each color according to the total number of colors, and converting the bit sequence obtained by conversion into a corresponding code group according to a predefined format requirement; and converting the code group obtained by conversion into pixel points of corresponding colors according to a predefined code group and color correspondence rule, and forming a corresponding multi-color two-dimensional code. The invention provides a method for expanding the coding capacity of a two-dimensional code by using multiple colors.
