Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a fastening arrangement comprising a first component and a second component attachable thereto. The invention further relates to a motor vehicle equipped with such a fastening arrangement.
[0002] During vehicle assembly, particular emphasis is placed on the precise alignment of decorative elements, as these are largely responsible for the vehicle's final appearance. Common methods for attaching such trim strips or elements include gluing or clipping them to the vehicle's body. However, with gluing, there is a risk, at least until the adhesive hardens, that the decorative element will shift and therefore cannot be properly aligned on the vehicle. Similarly, with clip connections, where the decorative element is attached to an opening in the body via a clip, the necessary clearance between the clip and the opening can prevent a precisely defined installation position.
[0003] From DE 10 2004 035 719 A1, a fastening arrangement with a first component and a second component attachable to it is known, wherein at least one elongated hole-like opening is provided in the first component, into which at least one engagement element arranged on the second component engages in a self-positioning manner, such that positioning elements arranged on the engagement element, which are designed as longitudinal and transverse webs, are supported on an edge of the elongated hole-like opening.
[0004] A blind fastener is known from DE 33 34 487 A1.
[0005] The present invention therefore deals with the problem of creating a fastening arrangement which, on the one hand, enables a reliable fastening of a first component to a second component and, at the same time, allows for the exact positioning or alignment of the two components relative to each other.
[0006] This problem is solved according to the invention by the subject matter of the independent claims. Advantageous embodiments are the subject matter of the dependent claims.
[0007] The invention is based on the general concept of creating a fastening arrangement with two components to be fastened to one another, wherein the first component has at least one elongated opening into which an engagement element arranged on the second component is pressed for mounting the fastening arrangement. The engagement element not only ensures a reliable connection between the first and second components, but also has so-called positioning elements by means of which the engagement element is supported against an edge of the through-hole and thereby aligns itself with respect to the opening. The positioning elements on the engagement elements are such that they are matched to the elongated openings on the first component in such a way that when the engagement elements are pressed into the openings for fastening the second component to the first component, the second component is aligned relative to the first component.Separate alignment is therefore unnecessary; simply pressing the second component against the first, while simultaneously pressing the engagement elements on the second component into the corresponding openings on the first, aligns the second component. Furthermore, the interlocking and / or snapping action of the engagement elements in the corresponding openings of the first component ensures a reliable connection and fastening of the second component to the first. The proposed fastening arrangement thus not only allows for very simple attachment of the second component to the first, but also automatically aligns the two components during the manufacturing process. This eliminates the need for time-consuming adjustments or alignment during assembly. At the same time, such a fastening arrangement is extremely cost-effective to manufacture, since only corresponding elongated hole openings need to be provided on the first component, which interact with engagement elements provided on the second component, which are made of plastic.
[0008] The positioning elements are designed as longitudinal and transverse ribs. This design allows the engagement element to be supported at multiple points along the opening edge, thus simultaneously self-centering. The design of the positioning elements with longitudinal and transverse ribs is structurally very simple and therefore cost-effective to manufacture.
[0009] According to the invention, at least one longitudinal and / or at least one transverse web of an engagement element is designed as a scraping element which can be pressed into the corresponding opening with material removal. This means that the clear cross-section of the opening in the first component is typically slightly smaller than the corresponding outer cross-section of the engagement element arranged on the second component, so that pressing the engagement element into the opening can only occur if at least minimal material removal takes place on the longitudinal and / or transverse webs of the engagement element.
[0010] In a further advantageous embodiment of the solution according to the invention, at least one engagement element in the associated opening on the first component is additionally secured by an adhesive bond. Such an adhesive bond can reliably prevent the engagement element from unintentionally loosening and thus prevent the second component from detaching from the first component, or at least further secure a firm connection already established by simply pressing the engagement element into the opening. It is also conceivable, of course, that the second component is bonded to the first component in areas adjacent to the engagement element, where it preferably rests against the first component when the fastening arrangement is attached. This reduces the number of fastening arrangements according to the invention, with an adhesive bond between the individual fastening arrangements ensuring the reliable attachment of the second component to the first component.
[0011] Further important features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the dependent claims, the drawings and the associated description of the figures based on the drawings.
[0012] It is understood that the features mentioned above and those to be explained below can be used not only in the combinations specified, but also in other combinations or on their own, without leaving the scope of the present invention.
[0013] Preferred embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawings and are explained in more detail in the following description, wherein identical reference numerals refer to identical or similar or functionally identical components.
[0014] Each of these shows, schematically: Fig. 1 a fastening arrangement according to the invention in a sectional view and Fig. 2 a sectional view along the section plane II-II.
[0015] Accordingly Fig. Figure 1 comprises a fastening arrangement 1 according to the invention, comprising a first component 2 and a second component 3 attached thereto. The first component 2 can, for example, be designed as an outer body panel of a motor vehicle (not otherwise shown), while the second component 3 can be a decorative strip to be attached to this outer body panel. For the purpose of producing the fastening arrangement 1, at least one elongated opening 4 (see also Figure 1) is provided in the first component 2. Fig. 2) provided, into which at least one engagement element 5, arranged on the second component 3, engages in a self-positioning manner. The engagement element 5, arranged on the second component 3, engages the elongated opening 4 on the first component 2 in such a way that positioning elements 6, arranged on the engagement element 5, bear against an opening edge 7 of the elongated opening 4. The positioning elements 6, which can be designed, for example, as longitudinal webs 8 or transverse webs 9, center the engagement element 5 with respect to the opening 4 and thereby precisely align the second component 3, for example, the trim strip, with the first component 2, for example, the body.
[0016] It is conceivable that the intervention element 5 could be a, as in Fig. Figure 2 shows a cross-shaped cross-section, such that two longitudinal webs 8 and two transverse webs 9 are opposite each other. According to a first aspect of the invention, the transverse webs 9 are arranged offset from one another, which, according to the Fig. 2 is indicated by the dashed lines on the crossbars 9..
[0017] In order to achieve a precise, predefined position of the engagement element 5 in the associated opening 4, according to a second aspect of the invention, at least one longitudinal web 8 and / or at least one transverse web 9 of such an engagement element 5 is designed as a scraping element, which can be pressed into the associated opening 4 with material removal. In this case, the clear inner diameter of the opening 4 would be at least slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the associated engagement element 5. Besides such material-removing pressing of the engagement element 5 into the opening 4 according to the invention, in which the edge 7 of the opening 4 can have an edge that produces a scraping effect, it cannot be provided according to the invention that the positioning elements 6, i.e.,respectively the longitudinal webs 8 and / or the transverse webs 9 are designed to be at least slightly elastic and are compressed by the edge 7 of the opening 4 when the engagement element 5 is pressed into the opening 4. The latter variant, which is not according to the invention, is particularly suitable for fastening arrangements 1 which may need to be detached and reattached several times.
[0018] The engagement element 5 is manufactured cost-effectively from plastic and can, in particular, be produced as a single unit with the second component 3, which is also made of plastic. However, it is also conceivable that the engagement element 5 is manufactured separately and joined to the second component 3, for example, the decorative strip, in a further work step. For further adjustment of the second component 3 on the first component 2, adjustment elements 10 are provided on the second component 3, by means of which the second component 3 rests against the first component 2. The adjustment elements 10 are designed as cost-effective plastic feet. Additional securing of the fastening arrangement 1 can also be achieved by bonding the second component 3 to the first component 2, for example, by means of adhesive tape 11, in particular by bonding the engagement element 5 to the opening 4.Component 3 may have a decoration, in particular a layer, on its visible side 12.
[0019] In general, the fastening arrangement 1 according to the invention makes it possible, on the one hand, to ensure a reliable fastening of two components 2, 3 to one another and, on the other hand, to simultaneously perform positional positioning, i.e., alignment of the second component 3 with respect to the first component 2, during the manufacture of the fastening arrangement 1 by means of the positioning elements 6 arranged on the engagement element 5. Separate alignment is thus unnecessary.
