Description

TECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present application relates to the technical field of luminescence detection, and in particular to a device for detecting circularly polarized light. STATE OF THE ART

[0002] In the field of optics, the oscillation direction of the light waves of natural light (e.g., sunlight) is random, and their propagation can be modulated in a fixed direction to produce circularly polarized light. Circularly polarized light is characterized by high optical sensitivity and high optical resolution because the magnitude of the electric vector remains constant, but the direction varies smoothly over time. The necessary conditions for generating circularly polarized light include an asymmetric environment and a light source. Chiral luminescent materials possess circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) and play important roles in 3D displays, spintronics, quantum computing, information security, and biological monitoring and therapy. In practice, there are a variety of compounds with excellent CPL properties, from small chiral molecules to supramolecules and from chiral rare-earth complexes to nano-superstructures, but the detection of circularly polarized luminescence, i.e., CPL, is still very limited. Current equipment for detecting circularly polarized luminescence mainly uses a xenon lamp light source for testing, and it is difficult to obtain chiral circularly polarized luminescence signals for samples with weak luminescence or with excitation and emission wavelengths less than about 100 nm apart. If the laser is directly inserted into the cavity of the CPL device for testing, on the one hand, the space inside the cavity is too small to accommodate a large laser, and on the other hand, it is difficult to fix the laser in the cavity and control the optical path. The terms used in the description of the present utility model are used only to describe specific embodiments and are not intended to limit the present utility model.

[0018] See Fig. 1, Fig. 1 is a three-dimensional representation of an apparatus for detecting circularly polarized light in one embodiment of the present application. As in Fig. 1, the device for detecting circularly polarized light is used for detecting circularly polarized light from thin-film samples and comprises a base plate 1, an optical film element 2, a reflecting mirror element 3, and a laser ejecting element 4. The optical film element 2 is arranged on a first side of the upper surface of the base plate 1, the optical film element 2 being provided with an optical film 21, the reflecting mirror element 3 being arranged on a second side of the upper surface of the base plate 1, the second side being parallel to the first side, and the reflecting mirror element 3 being provided with a reflecting mirror 31. The laser ejecting element 4 is arranged on the upper surface of the base plate 1, the laser ejecting element 4 emitting a laser light path to reach the reflecting mirror 31, the emitted laser light reaching the center of the optical film 21.after being reflected by the reflecting mirror 31. After the laser has passed through the optical film 21, a signal is obtained that can be used for the detection of circularly polarized light.

[0019] See Fig. 2 and Fig. 3, Fig. Figure 2 is a three-dimensional representation of a device for detecting circularly polarized light in another embodiment of the present application. As shown in Fig. 2, the circularly polarized light detecting device is further used to detect circularly polarized light of a liquid sample and further comprises a liquid sample table 5, the liquid sample table 5 being arranged midway between the optical film element 2 and the reflecting mirror element 3. Fig. Figure 3 is a three-dimensional representation of a horizontal plane of the circularly polarized light detection device in one embodiment of the present application. As shown in Fig. 3, the height of the liquid sample table 5 is lower than the bottom of the reflecting mirror 31 in the vertical direction; When a liquid sample cuvette is placed on the liquid sample table, the optical path of the laser light emitted from the laser ejection element passes through the liquid sample in the cuvette; When a cuvette containing a liquid sample to be examined is placed on the liquid sample table 5, the laser ejection element 4 emits a laser light that can reach the center of the reflecting mirror 31 after passing through the liquid sample in the cuvette; When the height of the liquid sample table 5 is higher than the bottom of the reflecting mirror 31 in the vertical direction, there is a problem that the laser ejection element 4 is unable to reach the center of the reflecting mirror 31 after radiating the laser light past the liquid sample, resulting in the detection of circularly polarized light of the liquid sample not working.

[0020] See Fig. 4 and Fig. 5, Fig. 4 is a three-dimensional representation of a height adjustment sub-element in the circularly polarized light detection device in one embodiment of the present application, Fig. 5 is a structural decomposition diagram of a height adjustment sub-element in the circularly polarized light detection device in one embodiment of the present application. As shown in Fig. 3, the circularly polarized light detection device further comprises a plurality of height adjustment sub-elements, wherein the plurality of height adjustment sub-elements 60 are respectively arranged in the optical film element 2, the reflecting mirror element 3, the laser ejection element 4, and the liquid sample table 5. As shown in Fig. 4 and Fig. 5, the height adjustment sub-element 60 serves to adjust the height of the optical film element 2, the reflecting mirror element 3, the laser ejection element 4 and the liquid sample table 5, and comprises a sleeve 61 which is perpendicular to the base plate 1 and a rod 62 which is adapted accordingly, wherein the sleeve 61 is provided on the side with openings 611, and wherein the openings 611 are screwed with fastening screws 63 in the internal cavities.

[0021] See Fig. 6 and Fig. 7, Fig. 6 is a three-dimensional representation of a base plate and an optical film element in the device for detecting circularly polarized light in one embodiment of the present application, Fig. Fig. 7 is another three-dimensional representation of a base plate and an optical film element in the device for detecting circularly polarized light in one embodiment of the present application. The optical film element 2 further comprises an optical film fixing sub-element 21 connected to the rod 62, wherein the optical film fixing sub-element 21 fixes the film test patterns of different sizes when the film test patterns of different sizes are exchanged, wherein the optical film fixing sub-element 21 Fig. 6 for attaching larger film test samples and the sub-element 21 for attaching the optical film in Fig. 7 is used for attaching smaller film test samples. In an optimal embodiment, the laser ejection element 4 can be a laser head attachment element, wherein the laser head attachment element is provided with a laser head, and wherein the laser head has a length of less than 10 cm, wherein the laser head generates laser light, and the emitted laser light reaches the center of the reflector 31.

[0022] In an optional embodiment, the laser ejection element 4 may be a laser mounting element, wherein the laser mounting element is provided with a fiber optic collimator, wherein the fiber optic collimator is connected to a laser light source or a laser receiver via a fiber optic, the fiber optic collimator radiates the received laser light onto the center of the reflecting mirror 31.

[0023] In an optimal embodiment, the optical film attachment sub-element attaches a preselected filter when a corresponding liquid sample cuvette is placed on the liquid sample table, wherein the preselected filters are able to filter out a portion of the light, since there are octave peaks when detecting circular polarization, i.e. the peaks also occur at multiples of the expected signal frequency, by replacing the filters with different wavelengths to adjust the transmission characteristics, the effect of the octave peaks on the test results can be reduced.

[0024] In an optimal embodiment, the length of the base plate is less than 30 cm and the width of the base plate is less than 13 cm, thus the above device for detecting circularly polarized light can be placed in the cavity of the CPL device.

[0025] As an example, see Fig. 8, Fig. Figure 8 is an example of a circularly polarized light detection device in one embodiment of the present application when it includes a laser head, a reflecting mirror element, and a liquid sample stage. As shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 8, the base plate 1 is provided with a laser ejection element 4, which is in particular a laser head fixing element that fixes a laser head with a length of less than 10 cm. The laser emitted by this laser head first reaches the reflecting mirror element 3 on the base plate 1 and then, after being reflected by the reflecting mirrors contained in the reflecting mirror element 3, onto the liquid sample table 5 on the base plate 1. As an example, see Fig. 9, Fig. 9 is an example of a circularly polarized light detection device in one embodiment of the present application when it includes a laser head, a reflecting mirror element, and an optical film element. As shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 9, the base plate 1 is provided with a laser ejection element 4 that mounts a laser head with a length of less than 10 mm inside. The laser emitted by this laser head first reaches the reflecting mirror element 3 located on the base plate 1. The laser light is then reflected by the reflecting mirrors contained in the reflecting mirror element 3 before reaching the optical film element 2 provided on the base plate 1. The optical film element 2 includes an optical film mounting sub-element that mounts a smaller thin-film test sample.

[0026] As an example, see Fig. 10, Fig. 10 is another example of a circularly polarized light detection device in one embodiment of the present application when it includes a laser head, a reflecting mirror element, and an optical film element. As shown in Fig. 10, the difference to the device for detecting circularly polarized light of the example is Fig. 9 in that the optical film element 2 in the device for detecting circularly polarized light of the example in Fig. 10 comprises an optical film mounting sub-element that mounts a larger size thin film test sample.

[0027] As an example, see Fig. 11, Fig. 11 is an example of the device for detecting circularly polarized light in one embodiment of the present application when it includes a fiber optic collimator, a reflector component, and a liquid sample stage. As shown in Fig. 11, the difference to the device for detecting circularly polarized light of the example of Fig. 8 in that the laser ejection element 4 in the device for detecting circularly polarized light of the example of Fig. 11 is a laser mounting element provided with a fiber optic collimator, and the fiber optic collimator is connected to a laser light source or a laser receiver via a fiber optic connection.

[0028] As an example, see Fig. 12, Fig. 12 is an example of a device for detecting circularly polarized light in one embodiment of the present application when it includes a fiber optic collimator, a reflecting mirror element, and an optical film element. As in Fig. 12, the difference to the device for detecting circularly polarized light of the example is Fig. 9 in that the laser ejection element 4 in the device for detecting circularly polarized light of the example of Fig. 12 is a laser fixing element. The laser fixing element is provided with a fiber optic collimator, and the fiber optic collimator is connected via a fiber optic to a laser light source or a laser receiver, wherein the optical film element 2 is Fig. 12 comprises an optical film mounting sub-element which mounts a smaller thin film test pattern.

[0029] As an example, see Fig. 13, Fig. 13 is another example of a device for detecting circularly polarized light in an embodiment of the present application when it includes a fiber optic collimator, a reflecting mirror element, and an optical film element. As in Fig. 13, the difference to the device for detecting circularly polarized light of the example of Fig. 10 in that the laser ejection element 4 in the device for detecting circularly polarized light of the example of Fig. 13 is a laser mounting element provided with a fiber optic collimator, and the fiber optic collimator is connected to a laser light source or a laser receiver via a fiber optic connection. The difference from the device for detecting circularly polarized light of the example in Fig. 12 is that the optical film element 2 of the device for detecting circularly polarized light of the example in Fig. 13 comprises an optical film mounting sub-element that mounts a larger thin film test pattern.

[0030] The circularly polarized light detection device provided by embodiments of the present application is compared to a conventional xenon lamp as a light source, and when the xenon lamp is used as the light source, the detection of circularly polarized light is performed on a sample with a low quantum yield (e.g., a CdSe quantum dot core) or a broad emission peak (e.g., a carbon dot). See Fig. 14, Fig. Figure 14 is a graph showing the results of detecting circularly polarized light from low quantum efficiency materials at a reduced slit of a conventional xenon lamp in one embodiment of the present application. As shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 14, when detecting the low-quantum-yield material at a small slit of a conventional xenon lamp light source, the optical voltage is too low (less than 0.1) and the corresponding circular dichroism data is too noisy to obtain a circularly polarized light signal. It can be seen that the xenon lamp emitted through the small slit is weak, making it difficult to detect the high-intensity circularly polarized light signal.

[0031] See Fig. 15, Fig. Figure 15 is a graph showing the results of detecting circularly polarized light of a low quantum yield material at an enlarged slit of a conventional xenon lamp in one embodiment of the present application. As shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 15, after increasing the slit of the xenon lamp, although the optical voltage is increased at this time, the corresponding excitation peak also affects the circularly polarized light signal, producing a distinct shoulder peak and even exceeding the signal of the sample itself. See Fig. 16, Fig. Figure 16 is a graph showing the results of circularly polarized light detection from a conventional xenon lamp for a material with a broad emission peak in one embodiment of the present application. As shown in Fig. 16, it is difficult to avoid the occurrence of shoulder peaks due to the small distance between the positions of the excitation and emission peaks. As shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 17, different laser light intensities can be excited by adjusting the laser power without relying on the device slit adjustment, and a suitable light voltage value can be obtained in the case of a small emission detection slit, followed by detection of the circularly polarized light. At the same time, the narrow half-width of the excitation peak (less than 5 nm) can effectively prevent the occurrence of a shoulder peak, even when the excitation-emission distance is short. Fig. 18 is a diagram showing the results of detecting circularly polarized light of a carbon dot material by a circularly polarized light detecting apparatus in one embodiment of the present application. Fig. Fig. 19 is a diagram showing the results of detecting circularly polarized light of an ordinary quantum dot material by a circularly polarized light detecting device in one embodiment of the present application. As shown in Fig. 18 and Fig. As shown in Figure 19, the detection results show a better half-peak width and avoid the occurrence of a shoulder peak.
