Description
Technical field of the invention
[0001] The field of the invention relates to devices for the presentation and protection of objects, in particular watch parts or jewelry items.
[0002] The invention relates more particularly to a removable support element, for example for a wristwatch, intended to be integrated into a storage unit and / or a display stand. Technological background
[0003] It is known to present timepieces or jewelry items in storage containers, such as boxes or protective cases.
[0004] Such storage containers can take various forms and generally allow for the storage and / or transport of one or more timepieces. These storage containers are commonly called display cases, boxes, cases, cases, cases, pouches, etc.
[0005] Thus, in the remainder of this application, the term storage unit will be used to refer indifferently to a box, a case, a case, a box, a display stand, a storage unit, a pouch, or any other container intended to receive and protect from shocks, scratches, or scrapes a timepiece or a piece of jewelry.
[0006] Storage units, traditionally used for the protection and transport of watch parts or jewelry items, are generally of rigid design and may have a soft, padded or velvety interior lining to form a protective case, thus avoiding any risk of damage to the object housed inside the storage unit.
[0007] These storage units typically feature at least one compartment designed to accommodate a removable support element for holding a timepiece, such as a wristwatch, or a piece of jewelry. These support elements also ensure that the timepiece or piece of jewelry is held securely in a specific position within the compartment and that the item is presented neatly within the storage unit so that it is correctly positioned when the unit is opened.
[0008] These support elements perform a support function but also protect the internal elements of the timepiece, or jewelry item, from scratches, scrapes and / or impacts.
[0009] The support element can be, for example, a kind of removable cushion, also called a bobbin, or a flexible support with a C-shaped band or blade suitable for holding a wristwatch or a piece of jewelry.
[0010] Some storage units may also include additional compartments sized to hold various accessories, such as bracelets, microfiber cleaning cloths, jewelry items, magnifying devices, etc.
[0011] However, these multi-compartment storage cases are generally large and bulky. Consequently, they are not well-suited for frequent transport, especially travel. Therefore, it is common for owners of watches or jewelry to replace their original storage cases and temporarily use smaller ones, such as travel cases, for their trips or travels.
[0012] These travel cases also allow you to transport and protect wristwatches or jewelry items, while offering a reduced footprint.
[0013] However, given the compact size of these travel cases, it's often impossible to transport anything other than a wristwatch or a piece of jewelry. Indeed, the primary purpose of such cases is to offer optimized compactness while ensuring effective protection against shocks, scratches, and scrapes. Therefore, these cases, or secondary storage containers, are absolutely not designed or sized to accommodate additional accessories.
[0014] Thus, the user is forced to choose between using a compact box which does not allow the transport of additional accessories, but has a reduced size which facilitates transport and storage in luggage, or using a large, bulky storage unit which is impractical to store in luggage, in which he can transport at least a wristwatch, or a piece of jewelry, as well as the accessories he wishes to carry with him.
[0015] To address this issue, the user could choose to purchase a new storage unit with intermediate dimensions suitable for the items and accessories they wish to carry. However, this solution is not entirely satisfactory and is not economically viable for the user, who would constantly have to adapt the dimensions of the storage unit depending on the type and / or number of accessories they wish to take with them. WO2016 / 019483 describes a support element for a timepiece. Summary of the invention
[0016] In this context, the invention proposes a new support element for a timepiece, in particular a wristwatch, or a piece of jewelry, which resolves the disadvantages presented previously.
[0017] To this end, the invention relates to a support element for a timepiece or jewelry item, comprising a receiving surface configured to be at least partially in direct contact with said timepiece or jewelry item, said support element comprising a peripheral portion bearing said receiving surface, and a central portion constituted by a block of material, said support element being characterized in that it comprises an internal cavity forming a recess in the central portion; said internal cavity delimiting a volume configured to receive and hold in position an object inside said support element, the central portion comprising at least one removable portion provided at the periphery of said internal cavity, said removable portion being configured to modify the shape and / or dimensions of said internal cavity when said removable portion is removed from the central portion.
[0018] The support element according to the invention, in addition to its support function, allows for the integration and housing of an object within the material of the support element. This optimizes the modularity of such a support element by reducing non-functional parts.
[0019] Thus, the support element according to the invention makes it possible to utilize, enhance, and utilize a "wasted" volume—i.e., one without a specific function—located in a central region of existing reel-type support elements. By utilizing this wasted volume, such a support element according to the invention allows for the integration of a useful object for the customer without adding extra bulk.
[0020] According to the invention, the central portion comprises at least one removable portion formed at the periphery of said internal cavity, said removable portion being configured to modify the shape and / or dimensions of said internal cavity when said removable portion is removed from the central portion. Thus, it is possible to modulate the dimensions and shape of the internal cavity simply by removing one or more removable portions from the central portion.
[0021] Advantageously, the shape of the internal cavity is tailored to the object to be integrated into the support element. Thus, the internal cavity can have various shapes, including a circular, oval, ovoid, oblong, or polygonal cross-section, depending on the requirements.
[0022] In one embodiment, the central portion comprises at least one region made of cellular material, elastomer, or viscoelastic polymer, the internal cavity being located within this region. The material of the internal cavity thus helps to secure the object.
[0023] According to one embodiment, the central portion comprises at least one region made of polyurethane foam or polyethylene foam, said internal cavity being located at the level of said region made of polyurethane foam or polyethylene foam.
[0024] According to one embodiment, the object is held in said internal cavity by elastic or viscoelastic response of the material following a deformation of the internal cavity.
[0025] According to one embodiment, the central portion has a density between 30 and 90 Shore A.
[0026] In one embodiment, the peripheral portion is made of cellular material, elastomer, or viscoelastic polymer. Thus, the material of the peripheral portion provides a soft and deformable contact for positioning the watch component.
[0027] According to one embodiment, the peripheral portion and the central portion are single pieces. This simplifies the manufacturing process.
[0028] In one embodiment, the internal cavity extends on either side of the central portion. This facilitates the removal of the object from inside the internal cavity.
[0029] In one embodiment, the internal cavity defines a volume configured to receive and hold in position a watch accessory or a piece of jewelry within the support element. Thus, in addition to a timepiece, such as a wristwatch, it is possible to carry an additional watch accessory or piece of jewelry that can be integrated into the support element.
[0030] In one embodiment, the watchmaking accessory is a magnifying device. Thus, the user can easily carry a watchmaker's loupe without additional bulk.
[0031] In one embodiment, the internal cavity has a counterbored shape. This shape advantageously allows for the integration of a watchmaker's loupe and the formation of a positioning stop.
[0032] In one embodiment, the support element includes a retraction mechanism configured to allow the object to be removed from the internal cavity. This provides the user with a means of easily removing the object from the internal cavity without risk of damaging the object or the internal cavity of the support element.
[0033] According to one embodiment, the support element has a shape adapted to receive a wristwatch at the level of said receiving surface.
[0034] The invention also relates to a storage device for a timepiece or jewelry item, characterized in that it comprises an outer casing having a movable portion, movable between a closed position and an open position, said open position of the movable element allowing access to an internal compartment provided inside the outer casing; a support element according to the invention positioned in a removable manner in said internal compartment. Detailed description of the invention
[0036] There figure 1 is a schematic perspective representation of a first example of the realization of a support element 100 not part of the invention.
[0037] There figure 2 illustrates a side view of the first example of the implementation of support element 100 shown in the figure 1 .
[0038] There figure 3 illustrates a cross-sectional view of the first example of the implementation of the support element 100 shown in the figure 1 , according to the AA section plan illustrated in the figure 2 .
[0039] The support element 100 has a general shape suitable for positioning and mounting a timepiece 10, such as a wristwatch and / or a piece of jewelry (not shown).
[0040] Thus, the support element 100 can, for example, have a cylindrical, ovoid, ellipsoidal shape, etc., and can be composed of one or more convex surfaces formed by one or more radii of curvature.
[0041] A cylindrical shape is defined as a shape having a ruled surface whose generatrices are parallel, that is to say, a surface in space consisting of parallel lines. Thus, a cylindrical shape according to the invention is not necessarily related to a right cylinder, which is a particular form of a cylinder.
[0042] In the first example of implementation illustrated in figures 1 to 3, the support element 100 is of the cushion or coil type, with a geometry and dimensions adapted to receive a timepiece and / or a piece of jewelry, and in particular a wristwatch.
[0043] The support element 100 comprises a central portion 120 forming a block of material, and a peripheral portion 110 formed around the periphery of the central portion 120, said peripheral portion 110 being removable or one-piece with the central portion 120.
[0044] Preferably, the support element 100 is a block of material comprising a central portion 120 and a peripheral portion 110.
[0045] The peripheral portion 110 has a curved, essentially convex, receiving surface 111 intended to be at least partly in direct contact with said timepiece 10, and more particularly with the inner diameter of the bracelet of a wristwatch, and possibly with the bottom of the case of the wristwatch, or of the jewelry item.
[0046] In the example of implementation illustrated in figures 1 to 3 , the receiving surface 111 is composed of a plurality of convex surfaces having several radii of curvature.
[0047] The peripheral portion 110 may also include, as illustrated in figures 1 to 3 , a flat lower surface 112 sufficiently wide to facilitate holding, and ensure stable holding of the support element 100.
[0048] The support element 100 also has two flanks 121, 122 forming the lateral faces of the support element 100. The peripheral portion 110, the central portion 120 and the flanks 121, 122 thus define the general volume of the support element 100.
[0049] In the example of implementation illustrated in figures 1 to 3 The sides 121 and 122 of the support element 100 are shown to be substantially flat and parallel to each other, so that the support element has a generally cylindrical shape; however, this representation is an exemplary embodiment and is not limiting of the invention. Indeed, the sides 121 and 122 of the support element 100 can have various shapes (for example, curved, convex, or concave) and may or may not be arranged in the same plane, symmetrically or asymmetrically.
[0050] The support element 100 according to the invention also has an internal housing, or internal cavity 130, forming a recess in the central part 120.
[0051] The internal cavity 130 is preferentially provided at the central portion 120 of the support element 100.
[0052] Preferably, the internal cavity 130 is provided substantially in a central region of the central portion 120.
[0053] Preferably, the internal cavity 130 opens at one of the sides 121, 122 of the support element 100.
[0054] Preferably, the internal cavity 130 opens at the level of the two sides 122, 122 of the support element 100, so that the internal cavity 130 passes through the central portion 120 of the support element 100 on both sides.
[0055] Preferably, the internal cavity 130 extends along an axis XX substantially parallel to a central axis C1 of the support element 100.
[0056] Preferably, the internal cavity 130 extends along an axis XX coaxial with the central axis C1 of the support element 100.
[0057] The internal cavity 130 is dimensioned to allow the introduction of an accessory 140 inside the support element 100, as well as its retention inside this internal cavity 130.
[0058] The internal cavity 130 has a shape that is suitable for the type of accessory 140 that we want to integrate into the support element 100. Thus, the internal cavity 130 can have different shapes and in particular a circular, oval, ovoid, oblong, or polygonal cross-section, depending on the needs.
[0059] THE figures 4a, 5a and 6arepresent, in side view, variant embodiments of the support element 100 illustrated in the figures 1 to 3 . THE figures 4b, 5b and 6b represent the cross-sectional views of these embodiment variants according to the same section plane AA illustrated in the figure 2 .
[0060] With reference to figures 4a and 4b , the support element 100a according to the invention comprises an internal cavity 130a of circular cross-section, and of constant dimension.
[0061] With reference to figures 5a and 5bThe support element 100b according to the invention comprises an internal cavity 130b having a circular cross-section whose diameter varies along the axis XX, such that the internal cavity 130b has a curved profile concave in the direction of the axis XX. Such a profile of the internal cavity 130b makes it possible, for example, to ensure the retention of a small accessory in the center of the support element 100 and / or a larger accessory at the ends of the internal cavity 130b (i.e., near the sides 121, 122).
[0062] Such a profile also ensures preferential retention of an accessory 140 at the central part 120 of the internal cavity 130 while facilitating the user's grasping of the accessory 140 when he wishes to remove it from the internal cavity 130, especially if the dimensions of the ends of the internal cavity 130 are greater than the dimensions of the ends of the accessory 140.
[0063] With reference to figures 6a and 6b The support element 100c according to the invention comprises an internal cavity 130c with a polygonal cross-section, for example, star-shaped. This shape allows for a versatile housing that can accommodate various accessories of different shapes, such as a straight cylindrical, spherical, cubic, or rectangular accessory.
[0064] Thus, the section of the internal cavity 130 can have variable shapes, as well as variable dimensions depending on the type of accessory 140 that one wishes to integrate into the internal cavity 130 of the support element 100.
[0065] In the example of implementation illustrated in figures 2 and 3 The internal cavity 130 has a cylindrical shape composed of two parts with constant cross-sections and different dimensions, such that the internal cavity 130 forms a counterbore. Thus, the internal cavity 130 has a first diameter d1 at one end and a second diameter d2, smaller than d1, at its other end. The difference in bore diameter of the internal cavity 130 allows for the creation of an annular shoulder 133 inside the internal cavity 130, configured to form a positioning stop for the accessory 140.
[0066] Preferably, the dimensions of the internal cavity 130 are slightly smaller than the dimensions of the accessory 140 that we wish to integrate inside the support element 100, so as to allow retention by friction and / or by elastic or viscoelastic response of the material following a deformation of the latter when the accessory 140 is introduced into the internal cavity 130.
[0067] The retention of the accessory 140 in the internal cavity 130 is for example achieved by rubbing the accessory 140 against at least a portion of the wall 134 of the internal cavity 130.
[0068] To improve the retention by friction of the accessory 140, the wall 134 of the internal cavity 130 can be covered with a coating promoting interaction with the accessory 140, or have surface irregularities, or protrusions, such as for example bosses, on the surface of the wall 134 of the internal cavity 130.
[0069] Irregularities or protrusions are advantageously made of a material that promotes friction or interaction with accessory 140.
[0070] The irregularities or protrusions can be made of a different material from the material used for the making of the central portion 120, and which advantageously has anti-slip properties so as to increase, if necessary, the retention of the accessory 140 inside the internal cavity 130, in particular during the handling of the support element 100.
[0071] The retention of the accessory 40 can also be achieved, in a complementary or independent manner with the example described in the preceding paragraphs, by applying pressure to the accessory 140 when it is in position in the internal cavity 130.
[0072] Pressure is exerted on the accessory 140 by elastic or viscoelastic response of the surrounding material due to a slight deformation of the internal cavity 130 following the introduction of the accessory 140, particularly when the dimensions of the internal cavity 130 are slightly smaller than the dimensions of the accessory 140.
[0073] For this purpose, the central portion 120 includes at least one region made of a flexible material having elastic or viscoelastic properties, the internal cavity 130 being provided in this particular region of the central portion 120.
[0074] Flexible material is defined as a material that is easily deformable by hand, with a density between 30 and 90 Shore A.
[0075] The flexible material can be, for example, a cellular material, such as a polymer foam, an elastomer, or a viscoelastic polymer.
[0076] The flexible material is, for example, polyurethane foam or polyethylene foam.
[0077] Preferably, the entire central portion 120 is made of a flexible material exhibiting elastic or viscoelastic properties.
[0078] Preferably, the material of the central portion 120 of the support element 100 and the material of the peripheral portion 110 are identical. However, the densities and hardnesses of these two portions may be different.
[0079] According to one embodiment, the material of the peripheral portion 110 is different from the material of the central portion 120. The peripheral portion can thus be made of a more rigid material than the central portion and be covered, for example, with leather, fabric or synthetic material so as to protect the inner part of the timepiece 10 or the jewelry item from scratches and / or scuffs.
[0080] The use of an external coating also allows for easy customization of the presentation of support element 100.
[0081] Preferably, the support element 100 is a single-piece element, that is to say that the central portion 120 and the peripheral portion 110 are in one piece.
[0082] The peripheral portion 110 and the central portion 120 can be made from the same material (with different or equivalent properties) or from different materials.
[0083] When the central portion has characteristics, for example of hardness and / or density, different from the peripheral portion, the support element can be made by polymerization or by bonding, of the two portions.
[0084] According to one embodiment, the central portion 120 and the peripheral portion 110 are two separate parts, i.e., manufactured separately. The central portion 120 and the peripheral portion 110 may have identical or different characteristics and may be made from the same or different materials.
[0085] Thus, in this embodiment, the support element 100 can consist of a peripheral portion of flexible support type formed by a C-shaped strip or blade and a solid central portion of flexible or foam material as mentioned in the previous examples and embodiments.
[0086] The band or blade can be made of spring steel or plastic, for example, and covered with a material such as leather, fabric, or synthetic material.
[0087] The two parts can then be assembled and held together by gluing or be removable from each other.
[0088] There figure 7This illustrates a second embodiment of a support element 200 according to the invention. This second embodiment is identical to the first embodiment and to the various embodiment variants mentioned, with the exception of the characteristics that will be described subsequently.
[0089] In this second embodiment, the central portion 220 of the support element 200 is formed by the combination of different portions 220a, 220b, 220c provided at the periphery of the internal cavity 130, extending concentrically, or not, along the axis XX of the internal cavity 230.
[0090] In this second embodiment, two removable portions 220b, 220c are shown. These removable portions 220b, 220c allow the shape and / or dimensions of the internal cavity 230 of the support element 200 to be modulated when the removable portions are removed.
[0091] It is clear that the shape and external dimensions of the removable portions define the shape and dimensions of the internal cavity 130 when the said removable portion in question is removed.
[0092] For example, when the removable portions 220b and 220c are in position, the internal cavity 230 has a circular cross-section of constant dimensions along the axis XX with diameter d3. When the first removable portion 220c is removed, the central portion 220 may have different dimensions and / or shape. In the embodiment shown, the internal cavity 230 has a constant circular cross-section with diameter d1, where d1 is greater than d3.
[0093] When the second removable portion 220b is removed in turn, it is possible to modify the shape and dimensions of the internal cavity 130 again. This allows us to return to the configuration already described in figures 2 and 3, with an internal cavity 130 in the shape of a counterbore having a first diameter d1 and a second diameter d2.
[0094] The removable portions 220b, 220c are preferably made of the same material as the remaining portion 220a of the central portion 220.
[0095] Similar to the first embodiment described above, the entire central portion 220 is made of a flexible material with elastic or viscoelastic properties. Thus, the central portion 220 can be made of polymer foam, an elastomer, a viscoelastic polymer, etc.
[0096] For example, flexible material includes polyurethane foam or polyethylene foam.
[0097] In the same way as the first embodiment example, the different removable portions 220b, 220c are held in position by friction or by elastic or viscoelastic response of the material.
[0098] We represented at figures 8 and 9 , an example of inserting an accessory 140 into the support element 100 according to the invention, as described and shown with reference to figures 1 to 3 .
[0099] Accessory 140 shown as an example is a magnifying device, such as a watchmaker's loupe, which may have a flared collar 143 at one of its ends.
[0100] The counterbored shape of the internal cavity 130 described with reference to the figure 3 is particularly well suited for the insertion and retention of such a magnifying device having a flared collar at one of its ends.
[0101] Thus, as represented in the figure 8, the installation of such an accessory 140 is carried out by the introduction of a first end 141, opposite a second end 142 presenting the flared collar 143, at the level of the portion of the internal cavity 130 presenting the largest diameter d1.
[0102] The accessory 140 is introduced into the internal cavity 130 by translation along the axis XX until it comes to rest against the annular shoulder 133. The material of the central portion 120 being advantageously flexible and deformable, it is possible to slightly continue the introduction of the accessory into the internal cavity 130 by elastically deforming the radially internal part of the annular shoulder 133. The retention of the accessory 140 is achieved by the elastic or viscoelastic response of the material at the level of the annular shoulder 133 and / or at the level of the wall 134 of the internal cavity 133, thus clamping the accessory 140.
[0103] To facilitate the removal of the accessory 140 from its position inside the internal cavity 130, the support element 100 may include a removal member 150 configured to allow the accessory 140 to slide out of the internal cavity 130. Such a member 150 prevents the user from having to press directly on the accessory 140 to remove it. This eliminates the risk of fingerprints and scratches that could be generated on the accessory 140 during the removal process.
[0104] The withdrawal member 150 is, for example, a pull tab having an end 151 easily grasped by the user and an end 152 in contact with the accessory 140 when the latter is inside the internal cavity 130. By pulling on the end 151 of the withdrawal member 150, the user initiates the withdrawal of the accessory 140 in the opposite direction to the direction of insertion by displacing at least part of the end 152, which subsequently facilitates grasping the accessory and its complete removal.
[0105] There Figure 10 schematically represents a storage unit 300 intended to receive a support element 100 not part of the invention and a support element 200 according to the invention.
[0106] The storage unit 300 is for example a box having an outer envelope 311 of rigid design, for example made of solid cardboard, or of wood, and having a movable portion 312, for example a lid, movable between a closed position and an open position allowing access to the inside of the storage unit 300.
[0107] The storage unit 300 has at least a first compartment 315 configured to receive the support element 100 not part of the invention and the support element 200 according to the invention described above.
[0108] The storage unit 300 may also include at least a second compartment 310 allowing the positioning of additional accessories.
