Description

[0001] The invention relates to a vehicle assembly for a passenger transport vehicle of a journey reconstruction system with spatial detection, wherein the vehicle assembly can be installed in the passenger transport vehicle and comprises at least one beacon configured to emit a beacon signal. Furthermore, the invention relates to a passenger transport vehicle, a data processing device, a journey reconstruction system, and a method.

[0002] Passenger transport systems with passenger vehicles (e.g., buses, trains, aircraft, watercraft, etc.) are known from the state of the art. To properly use a transport service in a (public) passenger transport system, a user generally requires a valid user authorization, which can be present, for example, in the form of a ticket medium or stored therein. In principle, passenger transport systems that use paper tickets as ticket media are known from the state of the art.

[0003] To reduce the required infrastructure in the form of ticket machines with printer functions, validators for validating paper tickets, and the like, but especially to increase user convenience, users' mobile devices are increasingly being used as ticket media in ticketing. For example, a readable (digital) user authorization, such as a device ID or user ID, can be stored on the mobile device.

[0004] Examples of mobile devices include smartphones, tablet computers, mobile game consoles, laptops, netbooks, data glasses, smart watches, smart rings, and similar wearables. Alternatively, a mobile device can be a dedicated ticketing device designed exclusively for a ticketing application.

[0005] Trip reconstruction systems with room detection, which detect the presence of a mobile device or user device in a paid area, promise a particularly high level of user comfort. These include, for example, CIBO (Check-In / Be-Out) or BIBO (Be-In / Be-Out) systems, which can automatically detect the exit of the passenger transport vehicle. In such passenger transport systems, the user's mobile device is used, in particular, to detect the start and end of a transport trip.

[0006] When calculating fares using a journey reconstruction system, it is determined (essentially automatically) whether a user (represented by their mobile device) traveled in a defined passenger transport vehicle of a passenger transport system, in particular at which location (especially the stop) they entered and exited the passenger transport vehicle, and whether or not they continued their journey with another passenger transport vehicle of the passenger transport system. In other words, a specific journey of a mobile device (possibly with a transfer) is reconstructed in order to calculate a fare.

[0007] In particular, it is known from the prior art to use signals from sensors present in the mobile device. These sensors can be, for example, location sensors (e.g., GPS or comparable global navigation satellite systems (GNSS)), acceleration sensors (e.g., vibration sensors), attitude sensors (e.g., sensors that determine the position of the mobile device relative to gravity), motion sensors (e.g., gyro sensors), direction sensors (e.g., a compass that determines the orientation of the mobile device relative to the Earth's magnetic field), noise sensors for recording ambient noise, pressure sensors for measuring air pressure, temperature sensors, and / or the like.

[0008] For (subsequent) journey reconstruction, the sensor data generated from these sensors' signals can be recorded, particularly periodically, so that the recording results in a temporal sequence of sensor data for each sensor used. For example, a temporal sequence of location data (e.g., GPS data) can yield a user's movement pattern, including locations, travel speeds, and / or stopping times (e.g., stops or traffic lights).

[0009] The actual journey reconstruction can be performed by comparing the chronological sequence of the mobile device's sensor data with reference data (e.g., vibrations, speeds) that (generally) correspond to a journey in a passenger transport vehicle of the passenger transport system, in order to determine whether the mobile device actually used the passenger transport system with a certain probability. Furthermore, the chronological sequence of the mobile device's sensor data can be compared with the actual operating data of the passenger transport system, which provide an actual chronological sequence of position data of specific passenger transport vehicles of the passenger transport system, in order to determine which specific passenger transport vehicle of the passenger transport system the mobile device actually traveled in.

[0010] If the trip reconstruction system is or includes a CIBO system, the user must perform an action on the mobile device at the start of the trip ("Check-In") to inform the mobile device that a trip is now starting, which, in particular, is to be reconstructed later. The end of the trip is automatically determined based on the recorded data ("Be Out"), in particular if the chronological sequence of the mobile device's position data no longer matches the chronological sequence of the position data of the passenger transport vehicles considered for this user trip. User-initiated check-in has the technical advantage that the mobile device does not have to continuously generate and record sensor data to automatically determine a start. User-initiated check-in also has the legal advantage that the user makes a declaration of intent by expressly confirming that a (paid) trip is now starting.

[0011] If the journey reconstruction system is or includes a BIBO system, the user does not need to perform any action on the mobile device at start-up. The start of the journey is automatically determined based on the continuously recorded data ("Be In"), in particular if the chronological sequence of the mobile device's position data continuously matches the chronological sequence of the position data of a transport vehicle in the passenger transport system. The end of the journey is automatically determined based on the recorded data ("Be Out"), as described above. As described, in this case, the mobile device must generate and record sensor data at least almost continuously in order to automatically determine the start of a journey. Furthermore, the automatic determination of the start will generally occur significantly later than the actual start of the journey.

[0012] For the described ticketing using a mobile device in a CIBO or BIBO journey reconstruction system, the exact location of the mobile device is generally required at least at the time of the start of a transport journey or the beginning of the journey and the end of the transport journey or the end of the journey. Therefore, as described above, it must be determined whether the route of a passenger transport vehicle and a movement pattern or movement profile of the mobile device (and thus of the user of the mobile device) match, in particular to establish that a journey has (actually) taken place.

[0013] However, the current state of the art still poses the problem that mobile devices, especially smartphones, do not record their own position accurately (enough). In particular, it has been observed that locating the (current) location of the mobile device indoors, during high-speed travel, in metal trains, etc., can repeatedly result in incorrect positioning and thus in an incorrect movement pattern of the mobile device.

[0014] To reduce the number of incorrectly determined movement patterns of mobile devices, at least one beacon (e.g., a Bluetooth-based beacon), preferably a plurality of beacons, can be installed in a journey reconstruction system. A beacon serves, in particular, to support the determination of the location of a mobile device. A beacon is, in particular, configured to transmit a beacon signal that can be received by mobile devices within range.

[0015] A beacon or a transmitter is, in particular, permanently assigned to a stop or station or a passenger transport vehicle. At a stop, a beacon is mounted at a fixed or immobile location, whereas a beacon on or in a passenger transport vehicle is mounted at or in a mobile location. In the prior art, such a beacon periodically transmits a beacon signal, in particular in an advertisement mode. A user's mobile device receives the (in particular periodically transmitted) beacon signals from the at least one beacon. Such a beacon signal always contains the beacon identifier as data content, which is forwarded by the mobile device as a terminal data record, together with the terminal identifier of the mobile device, to a remotely located data processing device of a background system of the journey reconstruction system.

[0016] The data processing device comprises, in particular, a processor-executable journey reconstruction module configured to reconstruct the completed transport journey based on the at least one received terminal device data record (preferably a plurality of terminal device data records) and, if applicable, a check-in data record, in particular also received as a terminal device data record. A fare determination module can determine an amount to be paid for the completed journey based on the reconstructed journey and at least one tariff module.

[0017] In this case, the at least one fare date can depend not only on the start and end of the transport location journey, i.e., the boarding and alighting stops, but also on distance- or zone-based principles. Therefore, the data processing device can preferably be provided with information about when which transport vehicle was actually at which station or stop. Preferably, the following data, in particular, can be provided to the journey reconstruction module for reconstructing a transport journey: Device ID of the mobile device Time date Stop ID If applicable, line ID of the passenger transport vehicle If applicable, vehicle ID of the passenger transport vehicle

[0018] To provide this data, it is known from the prior art to use sensor data from the mobile device, as described above. In particular, at least location data, such as data from a GPS sensor, and position or motion sensor data, such as data from a gyro sensor, can be used. However, it has been found that the sensors of the mobile device capture the corresponding measured variables accurately (enough), and consequently, sufficiently accurate sensor data is not always recorded.

[0019] Additionally, it is known from the state of the art that the reconstruction module is provided with the fixed timetable of the passenger transport system. Since passenger transport vehicles can be delayed or even cancelled in practice, this also does not lead to sufficient reliability in the journey reconstruction.

[0020] As a remedy, it is known from the state of the art to provide a dynamic timetable from an external operational data server (also known as a "data hub"). In addition to the problem of the data originating from an external operational data server, this also repeatedly leads to insufficiently reliable journey reconstruction results, as the data in the provided dynamic timetable is incomplete and / or incorrect and, in practice, is regularly provided late.

[0021] However, unreliable trip reconstruction leads to unreliable fare calculation, which will therefore be incorrect in some cases. In existing practice, it has also been found that a so-called station beacon or a beacon at a stop cannot be detected accurately (enough) by a mobile device if the mobile device is located inside the passenger transport vehicle. This means that the station beacon can only detect boarding and alighting. However, beacons are generally not available at all stations or stops. For example, they are regularly missing at small or less frequented bus stops.

[0022] Therefore, the object of the invention is to provide a possibility with which the disadvantages of the prior art are at least reduced and with which, in particular, a more reliable transport journey reconstruction is made possible.

[0023] According to a first aspect of the invention, the object is achieved by a vehicle arrangement for a passenger transport vehicle of a journey reconstruction system. The vehicle arrangement can be installed in the passenger transport vehicle. The vehicle arrangement comprises at least one beacon. The at least one beacon is configured to emit a beacon signal. The vehicle arrangement comprises at least one provision module. The provision module is configured to provide at least one item of current stop information for the passenger transport vehicle. The vehicle arrangement comprises at least one beacon signal generator. The beacon signal generator is configured to generate the beacon signal. The beacon signal contains at least one beacon identifier of the beacon and at least one item of vehicle information data. The vehicle information data is based at least on the provided (current) stop information.

[0024] By providing, in contrast to the prior art, a vehicle arrangement that can be installed in a passenger transport vehicle and has at least one beacon that transmits a dynamic beacon signal with variable data content, always containing information about the current stop location of the passenger transport vehicle, the disadvantages of the prior art are at least reduced and, in particular, a more reliable journey reconstruction is enabled. Data quality and timeliness can be improved.

[0025] According to the invention, the mobile device is provided with reliable information about the current stop at which the passenger transport vehicle is (currently) located. This information can be transmitted from the mobile device to a data processing device of a background system for reconstructing the completed journey. In particular, the fare for the actual journey can be determined in a simple and particularly reliable manner.

[0026] The vehicle assembly comprises at least one beacon. In particular, a plurality of beacons can be provided. The vehicle assembly can be installed in a passenger transport vehicle. A passenger transport vehicle is used to transport people. The passenger transport vehicle can preferably be a bus or a rail-bound vehicle, such as a train. In variants of the invention, the passenger transport vehicle can also be another vehicle, such as a watercraft, aircraft, cable car, etc.

[0027] The vehicle assembly is installable in a passenger transport vehicle. This means, in particular, that during proper operation of the vehicle assembly, at least the at least one beacon, the provisioning module, and the beacon signal generator are implemented or installed in the passenger transport vehicle.

[0028] The passenger transport vehicle is, in particular, a passenger transport vehicle of a journey reconstruction system, i.e., a CIBO passenger transport system or BIBO passenger transport system as described above. In particular, such a passenger transport system is a public passenger transport system with a plurality of passenger transport vehicles.

[0029] As already described, the vehicle arrangement according to the invention comprises at least one beacon or transmitter. A beacon is configured to (in particular periodically) transmit a beacon signal. The beacon can preferably be a radio frequency (HF) beacon, such as a UWB (ultra-wideband) transponder, RFID (radio frequency identification) beacon, Wi-Fi beacon, or Bluetooth beacon. The beacon is particularly preferably a BLE beacon or a BLE transmitter.

[0030] The at least one beacon can be operated, in particular, in an advertising mode. This means that the beacon emits advertising beacon signals, preferably BLE advertising beacon signals. A BLE advertising beacon signal can be received and evaluated by almost any mobile device, especially one with a commercially available operating system (e.g., Apple iOS, Google Android, Microsoft Windows Mobile, Microsoft Mobile Phone, Blackberry OS, Symbian OS, Firefox OS, Tizen, Aliyun OS). Furthermore, Bluetooth technology has the advantage that the range is limited (e.g., to approximately 10 m), so that an advertising beacon signal is reliably received only by mobile devices that are also located in the payable area, i.e., in the passenger transport vehicle.

[0031] In other variants of the invention, the at least one beacon signal can also be a WLAN advertising signal, RFID advertising signal or the like.

[0032] The beacon signal contains a beacon identifier of the transmitting beacon. A beacon identifier is, in particular, a system-wide unique identifier of the transmitting beacon. In other words, the beacon can be uniquely identified in the journey reconstruction system based on the beacon identifier.

[0033] Furthermore, the vehicle arrangement comprises at least one provision module. The provision module, in particular a software module executable by a processor, is configured to provide at least one piece of current stop information for the passenger transport vehicle.

[0034] Current stop information refers specifically to the stop currently being approached by the passenger transport vehicle. In particular, it has been recognized that at least information about the currently approached stop is available locally in a vehicle computer (e.g., CAD / AVL, OBU, or similar) of the passenger transport vehicle. This information is forwarded, for example, to the external operational data server mentioned above and is also available to the provisioning module.

[0035] According to the invention, this information about the stop is sent directly to the mobile device (without the detour via the external operating data server).

[0036] According to the invention, the vehicle arrangement comprises a beacon signal generator configured to generate a (dynamic) beacon signal with variable data content, at least depending on the current stop information. Thus, the respectively generated beacon signal contains at least the beacon identifier of the beacon and at least one vehicle information datum based at least on the provided (current) stop information. In variants of the invention, the vehicle information datum can be the provided stop information.

[0037] A technical restriction may be that the usable data volume or the maximum permissible data content (also referred to as payload) of a beacon signal is limited. Particularly in the case of a beacon signal in the form of a preferred Bluetooth advertisement signal, the data volume available in this signal (within a "frame") may be smaller than the data volume required to display the provided stop information. In one variant of the invention, the beacon signal generator may be configured to divide the provided stop information into a plurality of information parts. The plurality of information parts may be contained in a corresponding plurality of sequentially generated and transmitted beacon signals. The mobile terminal, in particular a travel application (so-called app) installed on the mobile terminal, can be configured to reconstruct the stop information from the plurality of information parts of the plurality of received beacon signals.

[0038] In practice, inconsistencies may occur when receiving the beacon signals, so that relevant information is at least not completely transmitted to mobile devices if one or more of the plurality of beacon signals containing an information portion is / are not received. To increase the reliability of transmitting at least the current stop information, a preferred embodiment of the vehicle arrangement according to the invention proposes encoding the current stop information and thereby reducing the amount of data to be transmitted, in particular such that a (single) beacon signal can contain the fully encoded current stop information as data content.

[0039] In particular, the vehicle arrangement may include: at least one coding memory configured to store a coding table containing at least respective associations between a respective vehicle information datum and at least the respective stop information, wherein the beacon signal generator comprises an encoder configured to determine the vehicle information datum associated with the provided stop information.

[0040] The coding memory is a data memory in which a coding table is stored. In particular, in one variant of the invention, each (possible) stop information item in a coding table can be assigned exactly one vehicle information datum in the form of a unique code (e.g., a unique character string). All possible stop information items refer, in particular, to at least all stops that can be reached by the passenger transport vehicle in which the vehicle arrangement is installed.

[0041] An example coding table is shown in Table 1 below. Table 1 Code or vehicle information date Stop information 10236 Mönchengladbach Central Station 10237 Hardterbroich 10238 Bonnenbroich 10239 Marienplatz 10240 Rheydt Central Station ··· ···

[0042] The beacon signal generator can be provided, in particular continuously, with at least the current stop information by the provision module (which can be integrated, for example, in the vehicle computer). The encoder of the beacon signal generator can access the coding memory, in particular the coding table. Based on the currently provided stop information, the beacon signal generator can determine the code or vehicle information datum that is (unambiguously) assigned to this stop information. The beacon signal generator can then generate a beacon signal containing the currently determined vehicle information datum. If the current stop information changes, the code and thus the data content of the transmitted beacon signal changes. In a particularly reliable manner, at least the current stop information can be transmitted to the mobile device by means of each beacon signal.

[0043] According to a further embodiment of the vehicle arrangement according to the invention, the at least one beacon can comprise a beacon computing unit. The beacon computing unit can comprise at least the beacon signal generator. In other words, a processor with storage means can be integrated into the beacon. The at least one processor can be configured to execute the beacon signal generator, which can be embodied in the form of a software module. The beacon computing unit can be connected, for example, to the vehicle computer (for example, comprising the provision module). A beacon signal generator can be implemented in a simple manner.

[0044] According to a further embodiment of the vehicle arrangement according to the invention, the vehicle arrangement may comprise: a plurality of beacons, and at least one central processing unit (communicatively) connected to the plurality of beacons, wherein the central processing unit comprises at least the beacon signal generator (and preferably also the provisioning module).

[0045] As already described, a vehicle arrangement installable in a passenger transport vehicle can comprise two or more beacons. In particular, the number of beacons in a vehicle arrangement for a passenger transport vehicle can be selected such that the transmission ranges of the beacons (permanently mounted in the passenger transport vehicle) cover the entire interior (i.e., the payable area) of the passenger transport vehicle. Preferably, with a plurality of beacons, the vehicle arrangement can include a central processing unit for the beacons. In other words, a central processing unit with at least one processor and storage means can be installed in the passenger vehicle arrangement. The at least one processor can be configured to execute the beacon signal generator, which can be in the form of a software module. In addition, the at least one processor can be configured to execute the provisioning module, which can be in the form of a software module.

[0046] The beacons can be connected to the central processing unit via an internal (wireless and / or wired) communication network of the vehicle assembly. The previously described beacon signal generator can then control the plurality of beacons such that each emits a beacon signal containing the same vehicle information datum. It is understood that the respective beacon signals can differ in their respective beacon identifier. The current stop information can be transmitted efficiently and reliably.

[0047] According to a further embodiment of the vehicle arrangement according to the invention, the vehicle arrangement may comprise: at least one validator configured to validate a ticket medium, wherein the at least one validator comprises an internal computing unit connected to the at least one beacon, wherein the internal computing unit comprises at least the beacon signal generator.

[0048] In particular, it has been recognized that a (per se known) validator—configured to validate a ticket medium, for example, by stamping a paper ticket or reading an electronic identifier of a contactless digital ticket—can be additionally equipped to implement at least the beacon signal generator (in a simple manner). In other words, a processor with storage means can be integrated into the validator. The at least one processor can be configured to execute the beacon signal generator, which can be embodied in the form of a software module. The internal storage unit can, for example, be connected to the vehicle computer (for example, comprising the provision module).

[0049] Preferably, the additionally equipped validator can also comprise at least one beacon. In other words, the beacon can be integrated into the validator housing. Mounting of only one device (namely, the validator equipped according to the invention) can be achieved. A compact vehicle arrangement can be provided.

[0050] According to a further preferred embodiment of the vehicle arrangement according to the invention, the provision module can be configured to provide at least one (further) (current) vehicle information item.

[0051] The at least one vehicle information may be selected from the group comprising: Vehicle identifier, (current) vehicle time date, vehicle line identifier, vehicle operator identifier, beacon position in the vehicle, and circulation date.

[0052] A vehicle identifier is, in particular, a system-wide, unique identifier for the respective passenger transport vehicle in a journey reconstruction system. In other words, the passenger transport vehicle can be uniquely identified in the journey reconstruction system based on the vehicle identifier.

[0053] The vehicle time date is, in particular, the current time (in particular, a time stamp with a date and time accurate to the second) of a vehicle clock of the passenger transport vehicle. Preferably, the respective vehicle clocks of the respective passenger transport vehicles can be synchronized with a central system clock (e.g., the data processing device).

[0054] A vehicle line identifier is, in particular, a system-wide, unique identifier for the vehicle line. A vehicle line is, in particular, the connection between several distributed stops that are regularly served by a passenger transport vehicle.

[0055] A vehicle operator identifier is, in particular, a system-wide unique identifier for the operator of the passenger transport vehicle. A vehicle operator identifier can be provided, especially if two or more different operators are present in the journey reconstruction system.

[0056] The beacon position of a beacon in the vehicle is, in particular, an indication of which sub-area of the passenger transport vehicle is covered by the transmission range of the beacon. For example, a first beacon (or a first group of beacons) can cover a first sub-area that is linked to a first fare date (e.g., 1st class fare date) or corresponds to a defined first class compartment with the transmission range of the first beacon (or the first group of beacons). A second beacon (or a second group of beacons) can cover a second sub-area with the transmission range of the second beacon (or the second group of beacons), which is linked to a second fare date different from the first fare date (e.g., 2nd class fare date) or corresponds to a defined second class compartment that is different from the defined first class compartment.

[0057] A route date is, in particular, a natural number and can, in particular, indicate the nth trip of a route on a given day. Corresponding vehicle information can be particularly relevant if other route variants are served by the specified route during defined routes.

[0058] According to a preferred embodiment of the vehicle arrangement according to the invention, the beacon signal generator can be configured to generate the beacon signal. The beacon signal can contain at least the beacon identifier and the at least one vehicle information datum, based at least on the provided stop information and the provided at least one vehicle information datum. For example, at least two vehicle information datums can be contained in the beacon signal. A first vehicle information datum can, in particular, represent and / or map the current stop information, and a second vehicle information datum can represent the at least one (further) vehicle information datum. For example, a corresponding vehicle information datum can be contained in the beacon signal for each further vehicle information datum. As described, in variants of the invention, corresponding information can also be divided into a plurality of beacon signals, in particular those transmitted sequentially, by the beacon signal generator.

[0059] As already described, however, the available data content in a beacon signal may not be sufficient to integrate all the information, preferably intended to be transmitted, into a beacon signal as payload in the form of uncoded information. In order to nevertheless include all the information data to be transmitted in a (single) beacon signal, a preferred embodiment may provide for encoding all of this information data. In particular, encoding is selected such that the amount of said information data to be transmitted is reduced, so that the encoded data can be inserted into a single beacon signal as data content. For example, an existing coding table can be supplemented accordingly for each additional piece of vehicle information (to be transmitted), or a further coding table can be stored in the coding memory. In other words, one or more coding tables can be provided to which the encoder can access. In particular, each additional coding table can be formed and structured analogously to the previously described coding table.

[0060] According to a particularly preferred embodiment of the vehicle arrangement according to the invention, the coding table can contain at least respective assignments between a respective vehicle information datum and at least the respective stop information as well as at least one (further) (current) vehicle information item. The beacon signal generator can comprise an encoder. The encoder can be configured to determine the vehicle information datum that is assigned to the provided stop information and the provided at least one vehicle information item. If a plurality of vehicle information items are provided, the encoder can be configured to determine the vehicle information datum that is assigned to the provided stop information and the plurality of provided at least one vehicle information item. The vehicle information datum is in particular a unique code (e.g.Character string) with which the aforementioned information is encoded for transmission. In particular, it can be ensured, for example by the data processing device, that codes are not assigned twice, but are always unique.

[0061] If, in one case, instantaneous stop information and additional vehicle information (e.g., in the form of a vehicle line identifier) are provided, each (possible) combination of stop information and vehicle information can be assigned exactly one vehicle information datum or code. A similar procedure can be applied if two or more (additional) vehicle information items are provided. The amount of data to be transmitted can be significantly reduced using an appropriate coding table. A plurality of instantaneous and variable information data can be transmitted reliably.

[0062] An example further coding table is shown in Table 2 below. Table 2 Code or vehicle information date Stop information Vehicle line identification 10236 Mönchengladbach Central Station 006 10237 Mönchengladbach Central Station 013 10238 Mönchengladbach Central Station 015 10239 Hardterbroich 006 10240 Mönchengladbach Central Station 008 ··· ··· ···

[0063] Another aspect of the invention is a passenger transport vehicle. The passenger transport vehicle comprises a vehicle assembly as described above, installed in the passenger transport vehicle. The passenger transport vehicle is, in particular, part of a previously described journey reconstruction system.

[0064] A further aspect of the invention is a data processing device for a journey reconstruction system. The data processing device comprises at least one receiving module. The at least one receiving module is configured to receive a first terminal data set from a mobile terminal. The first terminal data set contains at least one terminal identifier of the mobile terminal, a vehicle information datum of a beacon signal received by the mobile terminal, and a beacon identifier of the beacon signal received by the mobile terminal. The data processing device comprises at least one journey reconstruction module. The at least one journey reconstruction module is configured to reconstruct a completed journey based at least on the received first terminal data set.

[0065] The aforementioned modules of the data processing device can comprise hardware and / or software components. The data processing device can, for example, comprise at least one memory with program instructions of a computer program (e.g., the computer program according to the invention) and at least one processor configured to execute program instructions from the at least one memory. Accordingly, according to the invention, at least one data processing device is also to be understood as disclosed, which comprises at least one processor and at least one memory with program instructions, wherein the at least one memory and the program instructions are configured, together with the at least one processor, to cause the data processing device to execute and / or control the method according to the invention.

[0066] Preferably, the data processing device can form a background system or be formed by a server or by several (distributed) servers and / or a cloud system.

[0067] As described, at least one beacon identifier and one vehicle information datum can be emitted and, in particular, transmitted by means of a beacon signal. A mobile terminal, in particular under the control of a (software) driving application executable by a processor of the mobile terminal, can generate a first terminal data record, in particular upon receipt of such a beacon signal. The generated terminal data record can contain the received beacon identifier, the vehicle information datum, and a terminal identifier of the mobile terminal that generated the first terminal data record.

[0068] A device identifier is, in particular, a system-wide unique identifier of the mobile device or the user of the mobile device. In other words, the mobile device can be uniquely identified using the device identifier.

[0069] The generated first terminal data record can be transmitted by the mobile terminal. In other words, the receiving module of the data processing device can receive the first terminal data record, in particular a plurality of first terminal data records transmitted sequentially (e.g., periodically) by the mobile terminal.

[0070] Furthermore, the data processing device comprises a trip reconstruction module for reconstructing a trip undertaken by the user of the mobile terminal. The reconstruction is preferably based on a plurality of first terminal data records received by the mobile terminal (sequentially) via the receiving module. In a CIBO system, a check-in data record can also be taken into account during the reconstruction.

[0071] In particular, the journey reconstruction module can reconstruct the completed journey (in a particularly reliable manner) based on the vehicle information data contained in the first terminal data sets, which represent at least the stops actually reached.

[0072] Preferably, each first terminal data record transmitted by a mobile terminal contains a time datum. The respective time datum may already be contained in the beacon signal (in the form of the described vehicle time datum). In particular, the beacon signal generator may be configured to add the time datum, which may essentially correspond to the generation time and / or the transmission time of a respective beacon signal. For example, the beacon signal generator may determine the time datum in the form of the current vehicle time datum based on the vehicle clock of the passenger transport vehicle and / or the vehicle arrangement.

[0073] According to a further variant of the invention, the respective time date can also be added by the mobile device as a device time date, in particular under the control of the travel application. The time date can, in particular, correspond to the generation time and / or the transmission time of a respective first device data record. The travel application can determine the time date, for example, based on a device clock of the mobile device.

[0074] It is understood that a first terminal device data record can also contain both time data (vehicle time date and terminal device time date).

[0075] Using the time date, the data records can be arranged in a chronological order. The journey completed (particularly in the form of a stop chain) can then be reliably reconstructed from the specific, chronologically available stop information of the respective data records.

[0076] In particular, the first terminal device data record with the earliest time date (especially in the case where no check-in data record is available) contains the vehicle information date with the stop at which the user entered the passenger transport vehicle, thus beginning the journey. In other words, this data record contains the starting stop. In particular, the first terminal device data record with the latest time date contains the vehicle information date with the stop at which the user left the passenger transport vehicle, thus ending the journey. In other words, this data record contains the final stop. The journey is reconstructed in a reliable manner and, in particular, a start and / or end of the journey is detected.

[0077] Based on the reconstructed trip and at least one fare date, an optional fare determination module of the data processing device can determine the fare for the completed trip (in a particularly reliable manner) (in a particularly known manner). The user of the mobile device, who is identifiable by the device identifier, can then be billed for the completed trip (in a known manner). For example, the data required for this can be stored in a user account in the data processing device.

[0078] In particular, in the case where the vehicle information data is the current stop information, the reconstruction module can easily reconstruct the completed journey.

[0079] As described, the vehicle information data may preferably be a code. According to a preferred embodiment of the data processing device, the data processing device may comprise: at least one decoding memory configured to store a decoding table containing at least associations between a respective vehicle information datum and at least one respective stop information datum, wherein the trip reconstruction module comprises a decoder configured to determine the stop information associated with the received vehicle information datum based on the stored decoding table.

[0080] The decoding memory is a data memory in which a decoding table is stored. In particular, in one variant of the invention, each (possible) stop information item in a decoding table can be assigned exactly one vehicle information datum in the form of a unique code (e.g., a unique character string). All possible stop information items refer, in particular, to at least all stops that can be served by the passenger transport vehicles of the journey reconstruction system. A decoding table can, for example, correspond to Table 1 or 2. If more than one coding table is provided, a corresponding number of decoding tables can be provided.

[0081] A decoder can access the decoding table to decode the received code and determine at least the stop information (preferably at least one (further previously described) vehicle information item) associated with the received code or the received vehicle information datum. At least the stop information can be reliably determined in the data processing device.

[0082] A further aspect of the invention is a journey reconstruction system, in particular a CIBO system and / or a BIBO system. The journey reconstruction system comprises at least one vehicle arrangement according to one of claims 2 to 8. The journey reconstruction system comprises at least one decoding memory configured to store a decoding table containing at least associations between a respective vehicle information datum and at least one respective stop information item. The journey reconstruction system comprises at least one decoder configured to determine the stop information associated with the received vehicle information datum based on the stored decoding table. The journey reconstruction system comprises at least one journey reconstruction module of a data processing device configured to reconstruct a completed journey based at least on the determined stop information item.

[0083] In particular, the journey reconstruction system can comprise a plurality of vehicle assemblies that can be installed in a corresponding plurality of passenger transport vehicles. In particular, the journey reconstruction system comprises at least one passenger transport vehicle with at least one vehicle assembly installed therein. Furthermore, the journey reconstruction system comprises a data processing device comprising at least one reconstruction module.

[0084] According to one embodiment of the journey reconstruction system, as described above, the data processing device may comprise: at least one receiving module configured to receive a first terminal data set from a mobile terminal, wherein the first terminal data set contains at least one terminal identifier of the mobile terminal, a vehicle information datum of a beacon signal received by the mobile terminal, and a beacon identifier of the beacon signal received by the mobile terminal; at least one decoding memory configured to store a decoding table containing at least associations between a respective vehicle information datum and at least one respective stop information datum; wherein the trip reconstruction module comprises a decoder configured to determine the stop information associated with the received vehicle information datum based on the stored decoding table.

[0085] In particular, according to a further embodiment, the journey reconstruction system can comprise at least one mobile terminal. As described, the mobile terminal, in particular under the control of a journey application installed thereon, can generate and transmit the at least one first terminal data set, as described.

[0086] In particular, according to an alternative (but also additionally provided) embodiment of the journey reconstruction system according to the invention, the journey reconstruction system can comprise: at least one mobile terminal with a receiving module, configured to receive the at least one beacon signal, wherein the mobile terminal comprises the decoding memory and the decoder, and wherein the mobile terminal comprises a transmitting module, configured to transmit a second terminal data record containing at least one terminal identifier of the mobile terminal, the determined stop information of the beacon signal received by the mobile terminal and the beacon identifier of the beacon signal received by the mobile terminal.

[0087] In particular, the above-described at least one decoding memory and the above-described at least one decoder can be implemented in the data processing device and / or in the mobile terminal. In particular, the decoder can be a software module of the driving application that can be executed by a processor of the mobile terminal. The decoder operates, in particular, in the manner described above.

[0088] In this case, a transmitting module of the mobile terminal, e.g., under the control of the travel application, can transmit a second terminal data set, in particular to a receiving module of the data processing device. A second terminal data set contains at least (in particular instead of a code for the stop information) the already decoded stop information as well as the terminal identifier and the beacon identifier. In particular, at least one (further) decoded piece of vehicle information can be contained in a second terminal data set.

[0089] A coding table or a decoding table can be updated, especially if the data it contains has changed or if additional data has been added (e.g. stops have been added or deleted).

[0090] Yet another aspect of the invention is a method, in particular a computer-implemented method. The method comprises: Emitting, by a beacon of a vehicle arrangement for a passenger transport vehicle installed in a passenger transport vehicle, a beacon signal containing at least one beacon identifier of the beacon and at least one vehicle information datum which is based at least on a current stop information item of the passenger transport vehicle, determining, by a decoder, the stop information which is assigned to the received vehicle information datum based on a stored decoding table containing at least associations between a respective vehicle information datum and at least one respective stop information item, and reconstructing, by at least one trip reconstruction module of a data processing device, a completed trip based at least on the determined stop information item.

[0091] The method can be used in particular to operate a previously described journey reconstruction system.

[0092] It should be noted that, according to the application, the terms "first", "second", etc. do not specify any order, but rather serve merely as identifiers of different elements and / or steps.

[0093] As already described, a previously described module, device, etc. may comprise at least partially hardware elements (e.g. processor, memory means, etc.) and / or at least partially software elements (e.g. executable code).

[0094] The features of the vehicle arrangements, data processing devices, passenger transport vehicles, journey reconstruction systems, and (computer-implemented) methods can be freely combined with one another. In particular, features of the description and / or the dependent claims can be independently inventive, even if they completely or partially circumvent features of the independent claims, either alone or freely combined with one another.

[0095] There are now numerous possibilities for designing and further developing the vehicle arrangement according to the invention, the data processing device according to the invention, the passenger transport vehicle according to the invention, the journey reconstruction system according to the invention, and the (computer-implemented) method according to the invention. Reference is made, on the one hand, to the patent claims subordinate to the independent patent claims and, on the other hand, to the description of exemplary embodiments in conjunction with the drawing. The drawing shows: Fig. 1 is a schematic view of an embodiment of a vehicle arrangement according to the present invention, Fig. 2 is a schematic view of an embodiment of a journey reconstruction system according to the present invention with a further embodiment of a vehicle arrangement according to the present invention and an embodiment of a data processing device according to the present invention, Fig. 3 is a schematic view of a further embodiment of a journey reconstruction system according to the present invention with a further embodiment of a vehicle arrangement and a further embodiment of a data processing device according to the present invention, and Fig. 4 is a diagram of an embodiment of a method according to the present invention.

[0096] Similar reference numerals denote similar elements below.

[0097] The Figure 1shows a schematic view of an embodiment of a vehicle assembly 100 according to the present invention. In the present embodiment, the vehicle assembly 100 is illustrated in an installed state and, in particular, installed in a passenger transport vehicle 102, for example, a journey reconstruction system (not shown). For example only, the passenger transport vehicle 102 is a bus. In other variants of the invention, the at least one passenger transport vehicle of a journey reconstruction system can alternatively or additionally be a train, a watercraft, an aircraft, a cable car, etc.

[0098] The passenger transport vehicle 102 may have at least one access area 120 through which a user can enter and / or exit the passenger transport vehicle 102, i.e., enter and / or exit a paid area. In the illustrated embodiment, the passenger transport vehicle 102 includes a validator 116 in the access area 120.

[0099] The validator 116 is particularly configured to validate a ticket medium, for example by stamping a paper ticket or by reading an electronic identifier of a contactless digital ticket.

[0100] The vehicle assembly 100 comprises at least one beacon 104, 106. By way of example, the vehicle assembly 100 comprises three beacons 104, 106 in the present case. One beacon 106 is integrated, for example, into the validator 116. A beacon 104, 106, preferably a BLE beacon, is configured to transmit a beacon signal. According to the invention, a beacon 104, 106 of a vehicle assembly 100 is configured to transmit a dynamic beacon signal or a beacon signal with dynamic or variable data content. Thus, a beacon can preferably periodically transmit beacon signals whose data content changes over time, in particular at least depending on the current stop information or stop that the passenger vehicle is actually and currently approaching.

[0101] To transmit dynamic beacon signals, the vehicle arrangement comprises at least one provision module 110 and at least one beacon signal generator 112. The provision module 110 and the beacon signal generator 112 can, in particular, be implemented as software modules executable by a processor of a computing unit. For example, in the present case, a central processing unit 108 (with at least one processor and storage means) connected to the plurality of beacons 104, 106 via an internal (wireless and / or wired) communications network 114 is provided. The provision module 110 and the beacon signal generator 112 can be implemented in the central processing unit 108. For example, the central processing unit 108 can be formed by the vehicle computer (CAD / AVL, OBU, or similar) of the passenger transport vehicle 102 or integrated therein.

[0102] In further variants of the invention, a beacon, preferably each beacon, can alternatively or additionally comprise a beacon computing unit, wherein at least the beacon signal generator can be implemented in the beacon computing unit. In yet further variants of the invention, a beacon, preferably each beacon, can alternatively or additionally be integrated into a validator, and the beacon signal generator can be implemented in an internal computing unit of the validator, which can be connected to the beacon.

[0103] The provision module 110 is configured to provide at least one piece of current stop information of the passenger transport vehicle 102. In particular, at least information about the current stop or stop information is available locally in the vehicle computer (CAD / AVL, OBU, or similar) of the passenger transport vehicle 102, so that the provision module 110 can provide at least the current stop information (essentially continuously) to the beacon signal generator 112.

[0104] The beacon signal generator 112 is configured to generate the beacon signal, including at least one beacon identifier of the beacon 104, 106 and at least one vehicle information datum based at least on the provided stop information. For example, the vehicle information datum can be the provided stop information, a portion of the provided stop information, or a unique code representing the stop information.

[0105] A mobile terminal (not shown) configured as part of a journey reconstruction system can, in particular within the scope of acquiring its sensor data (as described in particular in the introductory part), also receive at least one beacon signal from at least one beacon 104, 106, wherein the data content of the beacon signal is, according to the invention, at least dependent on the current stop information or stop that the passenger vehicle is actually and currently approaching. From the data content of the received beacon signals, the mobile terminal can generate terminal data records, from which, according to the invention, the stop(s) at which the terminal was located during the journey can be deduced during the journey reconstruction.

[0106] The Figure 2shows a schematic view of an embodiment of a journey reconstruction system 230 according to the present invention with a further embodiment of a vehicle arrangement 200 according to the present invention and an embodiment of a data processing device 234 according to the present invention. To avoid repetition, only the differences from the previous embodiment according to the Figure 1 .

[0107] The trip reconstruction system 230 can be a CIBO system or a BIBO system. It is understood that the systems can be combined with each other and / or that additional ticketing methods can be used in the trip reconstruction system 230, such as the additional use of conventional paper tickets or digital tickets.

[0108] The vehicle assembly 200 comprises at least one previously described beacon 204, at least one previously described provisioning module 210, and a beacon signal generator 212. The provisioning module 210 and the beacon signal generator 212 are, for example, integrated in a central processing unit 208, wherein the processing unit 208 is connected to the at least one beacon 204 via a communication network 214.

[0109] In this preferred embodiment, the vehicle assembly 200 includes a coding memory 232 and an encoder 222, which is particularly integrated into the beacon signal generator 212. It should be noted that, for the sake of clarity, a depiction of a passenger transport vehicle in which the vehicle assembly 200 is integrated has been omitted.

[0110] In particular, a coding table (see, for example, Table 1 or Table 2) is stored in the coding memory 232. The encoder 222 is particularly configured to determine the vehicle information datum associated with the provided stop information based on the coding table. The beacon signals to be transmitted contain the (current) determined vehicle information datum as data content.

[0111] Preferably, the trip reconstruction system 230 can further comprise at least one mobile terminal 246, for example, a smartphone. The beacon signal (in particular a Bluetooth beacon signal) can be received via a receiver 248 (in particular a Bluetooth interface) of the mobile terminal 246. Under the control of a trip application 252, which can be executed by a processor (not shown) of the mobile terminal 246, the mobile terminal 246 can generate a first terminal data record. The first terminal data record contains at least a terminal identifier of the mobile terminal 246, the vehicle information datum of the beacon signal received by the mobile terminal 246, and a beacon identifier of the beacon signal received by the mobile terminal 246.The generated first terminal data record can be sent, in particular under the control of the travel application 252, by a transmission module 250 (in particular a mobile radio module), in particular to a remotely arranged (central) data processing device 234.

[0112] In particular, the beacon signals can be received periodically by the mobile terminal 246. Preferably, the first terminal data records can be generated and sent periodically (correspondingly, after receiving a beacon signal or a certain number of beacon signals with the same beacon identifier), at least when a sufficient communication connection to the data processing device exists. It is understood that the first terminal data records can also be buffered and sent at a later time.

[0113] The data processing device 234 can be formed by one or more (distributed) servers, a cloud system, or the like, and can comprise at least one processor (not shown) (and storage means). The data processing device 234 comprises at least one receiving module 236 (in particular a mobile radio receiver). The at least one receiving module 236 is configured to receive the at least one first terminal data record from the mobile terminal 246.

[0114] Furthermore, the data processing device 234 comprises a journey reconstruction module 238 that can be executed by the at least one processor. The journey reconstruction module 238 is configured to reconstruct a journey completed by the user of the mobile terminal 246 based at least on the received first terminal data record, in particular all first terminal data records received by the user's mobile terminal 246 and, if applicable, a check-in data record of the mobile terminal 246. In particular, the received data records can be assigned to the mobile terminal 246 and thus to the user of the mobile terminal 246 based on the terminal identifier.

[0115] In the preferred embodiment shown, the data processing device 234 comprises a decoding memory 240 and a decoder 242, which can be integrated, in particular, into the trip reconstruction module 238. In particular, a decoding table is stored in the decoding memory 240, which the decoder 242 can access. Upon receipt of a first terminal data record, the vehicle information datum can be extracted. The decoder 242 can search the decoding table for the vehicle information datum and determine the stop information associated with this vehicle information datum. Preferably, each first terminal data record of the mobile terminal 246 (and also any check-in data record that may be present) contains a time datum. The respective time datum can already be contained in the beacon signal that the mobile terminal 246 receives. In particular, the beacon signal generator 212 can be configured to add the time data, which can essentially correspond to the generation time and / or the transmission time of a respective beacon signal. For example, the beacon signal generator 212 can determine the time data based on a vehicle clock (not shown) of the passenger transport vehicle and / or the vehicle assembly 200. The travel application can insert the received time data, in particular in the form of the vehicle time data, into the first terminal device data record.

[0116] According to a further variant of the invention, the respective time date of the respective beacon signals can also be added by the mobile terminal 246, in particular under the control of the travel application 252. The time date, in particular in the form of the terminal time date, can in particular correspond to the generation time and / or the transmission time of a respective first terminal data record.

[0117] It is understood that a first terminal device data record can also contain both time data. Furthermore, it is understood that a first (or a second) terminal device data record can also contain at least one sensor data item, as described in the introductory section.

[0118] Using the respective time date, the data records can be arranged in chronological order. Using the specific stop information and the respective time data of the respective data records, a chronological sequence of the stops visited can then be reliably determined, thus reconstructing the completed journey.

[0119] In particular, the first terminal device data record, which was evaluated as "in use of the passenger transport system" in the trip reconstruction module 238 during the trip reconstruction, contains the vehicle information date with the earliest time date and the starting stop, i.e., the stop at which the user entered the passenger transport vehicle, thus beginning the trip. In particular, the last terminal device data record, which was evaluated as "in use of the passenger transport system" in the trip reconstruction module 238 during the trip reconstruction, contains the vehicle information date with the latest time date and the end stop, i.e., the stop at which the user left the passenger transport vehicle, thus ending the trip. The trip is reconstructed reliably, and in particular, a start and / or end of the trip is detected.

[0120] In particular, in a CIBO (Check-In / Be-Out) system, the first terminal device data record that was evaluated as "in use of the passenger transport system" during the journey reconstruction in the journey reconstruction module 238 can be easily identified based on the user interaction ("Check-In"); in particular, the recording of terminal device data records can only be started by the "Check-In".

[0121] The situation is different with a BIBO system (Be-In / Be-Out): Here, the terminal device must record terminal device data records at least almost continuously, and only during the journey reconstruction in the journey reconstruction module 238 can it be determined which is the first data record that can be assessed as "in use of the passenger transport system".

[0122] Optionally, the data processing device 234 may include a fare determination module 244, which is executable by the at least one processor. The fare determination module 244 may be configured to determine (in a known manner, in particular) the fare for the completed trip or reconstructed trip of the user.

[0123] The Figure 3 shows a schematic view of a further embodiment of a journey reconstruction system 330 according to the present invention with a further embodiment of a vehicle arrangement 300 according to the present invention and an embodiment of a data processing device 334 according to the present invention. To avoid repetition, only the differences from the previous embodiments according to the Figure 1 and 2 described.

[0124] As described above, the vehicle assembly 300 comprises at least one beacon 304, a provisioning module 310, a beacon signal generator 312 with an encoder 322, and a coding memory 332. Provisioning module 310, beacon signal generator 312, and coding memory 332 may be implemented in a central processing unit 308. The at least one beacon 304 may be connected to the central processing unit 308 via a communications network 314.

[0125] The main difference of the embodiment according to Figure 3 to the embodiment according to Figure 2 is in particular that the decoder 362 and the decoding memory 360 are not implemented in the data processing device 334, but in the mobile terminal 346. The trip reconstruction system 330 may include the at least one mobile terminal 346.

[0126] The mobile terminal 346 can receive beacon signals via a receiver 348, as described. In particular, the travel application 352 can include the decoder 362, which can determine the stop information using the decoding table stored in the decoding memory 360, as described.

[0127] In particular, under the control of the travel application 352, the transmission module 350 can cause a transmission of a second terminal data set containing at least the terminal identifier of the mobile terminal 346, the specific stop information of the beacon signal received by the mobile terminal 346 and the beacon identifier of the beacon signal received by the mobile terminal 346.

[0128] In particular, the beacon signals can be received periodically by the mobile terminal 346, as described. Preferably, the second terminal data sets can be generated and sent periodically (correspondingly, after receiving a beacon signal or a certain number of beacon signals with the same beacon identifier), at least when a sufficient communication connection to the data processing device 334 exists. It is understood that the first terminal data sets can also be buffered and sent at a later time.

[0129] The data processing device 334 here comprises a receiving module 336, a trip reconstruction module 338 and optionally a fare determination module 344, as described.

[0130] Also in this embodiment, at least one time date can be added by the vehicle arrangement 300 and / or the mobile terminal 346, such as for example Figure 2 was explained.

[0131] The Figure 4 shows a diagram of an embodiment of a (computer-implemented) method according to the present invention, with which, for example, a journey reconstruction system according to Figure 2 and / or 3 can be operated.

[0132] In a step 401, a beacon signal is transmitted by a beacon of a vehicle arrangement for a passenger transport vehicle installed in a passenger transport vehicle, containing at least one beacon identifier of the beacon and at least one vehicle information datum based at least on current stop information of the passenger transport vehicle, as previously described.

[0133] In a step 403, a decoder (of the mobile terminal or the data processing device) determines the stop information associated with the received vehicle information datum based on a decoding table stored (in the mobile terminal or the data processing device) containing at least associations between a respective vehicle information datum and at least one respective stop information datum, as previously described.

[0134] In a step 405, a reconstruction of a completed trip is carried out by at least one trip reconstruction module of a data processing device, based at least on the determined stop information, as previously described.

[0135] Optionally, the fare may be determined by a fare determination module based on the reconstructed trip and at least one fare date, as previously described. List of reference symbols:
