Description

[0001] The invention relates to a series of gearboxes according to the preamble of claim 1.

[0002] If customers have different requirements regarding sealing and resistance to the environmental conditions prevailing at the installation site, different sealing solutions must be provided for the input shafts. This necessitates a complete redesign of the gearbox input in each case.

[0003] The invention is based on the objective of simplifying the design of seals for a transmission input. This objective is achieved by a transmission series according to claim 1. Preferred embodiments are included in the dependent claims and will become apparent from the following description and the exemplary embodiment shown in the figures.

[0004] A gearbox series is an arrangement of at least two gearboxes that are identical with regard to the design of at least one technical feature.

[0005] The transmission series according to the invention comprises a first transmission and a second transmission. The first transmission and the second transmission each have an input shaft, a housing and a cover.

[0006] The housing of the first gearbox and the housing of the second gearbox each form a flange. This is a housing opening with a means for fixing the respective cover such that the cover at least partially, preferably completely, closes the opening.

[0007] The cover of the first gearbox is fixed in the flange of the first gearbox. Similarly, the cover of the second gearbox is fixed in the flange of the second gearbox. The fixing is oil-tight in each case, meaning that no oil can leak between the flange and the respective cover. For this purpose, a gasket, such as a solid gasket, is preferably installed between the flange and the respective cover.

[0008] The input shaft of the first gearbox passes through the cover of the first gearbox. Similarly, the input shaft of the second gearbox passes through the cover of the first gearbox. Likewise, the input shaft of the second gearbox passes through the cover of the second gearbox. This implies that each cover has an opening through which the respective input shaft passes. Two portions of each input shaft are therefore located on opposite sides of the respective cover. One portion of each input shaft is located inside the gearbox, and the other portion is located outside.

[0009] The cover of the first gearbox has at least one seal for sealing it against the input shaft of the first gearbox. Likewise, the cover of the second gearbox has at least one seal for sealing it against the input shaft of the second gearbox. The seal is preferably oil-tight, meaning that no oil can escape from the gearbox between the covers and the respective input shaft.

[0010] According to the invention, the flange of the first gearbox and the flange of the second gearbox are identical in construction. Two technical means or arrangements of means are identical in construction if they correspond in their physical parameters – in particular their material and geometric properties – within the limits of the manufacturing tolerances that occur.

[0011] Unlike the flanges, the seals are different. The at least one seal of the first gearbox is therefore different from the at least one seal of the second gearbox. This means that the entirety of all seals used to seal the cover of the first gearbox against the input shaft of the first gearbox differs from the entirety of all seals used to seal the cover of the second gearbox against the input shaft of the second gearbox.

[0012] Two technical devices or arrangements of devices are different or differ from each other if they are not identical in construction. This means that there is a difference between the devices or arrangements in at least one physical parameter that is not due to manufacturing and therefore lies outside the range of manufacturing tolerances.

[0013] The identical flanges result in economies of scale, leading to cost savings. The different seals allow each gearbox to be adapted to specific requirements, as described above.

[0014] In a preferred embodiment, the input shaft of the first gearbox and the input shaft of the second gearbox each have a ring. The ring of the input shaft of the first gearbox and the ring of the input shaft of the second gearbox are different. The rings are preferably fixed to the respective input shaft by friction and / or positive locking. The fixing is such that no oil can escape from the respective gearbox between the rings and the rest of the respective shaft.

[0015] At least one part of the at least one seal of the first gearbox seals the cover of the first gearbox against the ring of the input shaft of the first gearbox. Likewise, at least one part of the at least one seal of the second gearbox seals the cover of the second gearbox against the ring of the input shaft of the second gearbox.

[0016] The improved sealing method with respect to the rings is advantageous because the input shafts can be easily adapted to different seals of the respective gearbox via the rings. In particular, a preferred embodiment allows the use of input shafts that are at least partially identical in construction.

[0017] In a further development, at least a portion of the input shaft of the first gearbox and at least a portion of the input shaft of the second gearbox are identical in construction. The respective ring is mounted on the identical portions of the input shafts. Thus, the ring of the input shaft of the first gearbox is mounted on the at least one portion of the input shaft of the first gearbox. Likewise, the ring of the input shaft of the second gearbox is mounted on the at least one portion of the input shaft of the second gearbox. Preferably, the input shafts are completely identical in construction, with the exception of the respective ring. The input shafts then consist of a base body and the respective ring, the base bodies being identical in construction. Preferably, the at least one seal of the second gearbox is further developed as a Taconite seal. A Taconite seal is a sealing arrangement comprising a radial shaft seal, a V-ring seal, and a labyrinth seal. These three individual seals are arranged in series, that is, along the gap to be sealed. Oil escaping through the gap must pass through the three seals in sequence.

[0018] In a preferred embodiment, the V-ring seal and the labyrinth seal form a cavity. This cavity is defined, among other things, by the V-ring seal and the labyrinth seal. It is at least partially filled with grease. This improves the sealing effect.

[0019] The at least one seal of the first gearbox is preferably designed as a radial shaft seal. According to this design, the radial shaft seal forms the at least one seal. This means that the cover of the first gearbox is sealed against the shaft or the shaft ring exclusively by the radial shaft seal.

[0020] In a further preferred development, not only the flanges, but also the entire housings of the first gearbox and the second gearbox are identical in construction.

[0021] A similar series of gearboxes is known from DE102019104262A according to the preamble of claim 1.

[0022] A preferred embodiment of the invention is shown in the figures. Specifically, the figures show: Fig. 1 a section of the first gearbox of a series; and Fig. 2 a section of a second gearbox of the series.

[0023] The gearboxes according to the Figure 1 and 2 Each has an input shaft 103, 203. The input shafts 103, 203 pass through an opening in the respective housing 105, 205. A cover 109, 209 is provided to close this opening.

[0024] The housing 105 and the housing 205 of the first gearbox each form a screw flange 109, 209. The screw flanges 109, 209 are identical in construction. The cover 107 of the first gearbox is screwed to the screw flange 109 of the first gearbox. Likewise, the cover 207 of the second gearbox is screwed to the screw flange 209 of the second gearbox.

[0025] The covers 107, 207 form an opening through which the respective input shaft 103, 203 passes. Seals 111, 211a, 211b, 211c are provided to seal this opening against the respective input shaft 103, 203.

[0026] The cover 111 of the first gearbox has a simple radial shaft seal 111. The radial shaft seal 111 is fixed in the cover 107 of the first gearbox.

[0027] A sealing lip of the radial shaft seal 111 runs on the surface of a ring 113, which is shrunk onto the input shaft 103 of the first gearbox. A corresponding ring 213 is shrunk onto the input shaft 203 of the second gearbox. The ring 113 of the first gearbox and the ring 213 of the second gearbox differ in their component geometry. This allows for the use of a different sealing arrangement in the second gearbox.

[0028] The sealing arrangement of the second gearbox comprises a radial shaft seal 211a, a V-ring seal 211b, and a labyrinth seal 211c. The cover 207 is designed in two parts to accommodate this sealing arrangement. The first part 207a of the cover 207 receives the radial shaft seal 211a. This first part 207a is screwed to the screw flange 209 of the second gearbox. Accordingly, the first part 207a is fixed to the housing.

[0029] A second piece 207b of the cover 207 of the first gearbox is fixed against rotation on the input shaft 203 of the first gearbox. When the input shaft 203 rotates, the second piece 207b of the cover 207 of the first gearbox rotates accordingly relative to the first piece 207a.

[0030] The V-ring seal 211b is fixed in the second part 207b of the cover 207 of the first gearbox. Its sealing lip runs on the first part 207a of the cover 207 of the first gearbox.

[0031] Furthermore, the pieces 207a and 207b of the sealing ring 207 of the second gearbox each form part of the labyrinth seal 211c. A cavity 215 is located between the V-ring seal 211b and the labyrinth seal 211c. This cavity is filled with grease. Reference sign
