Abstract
Description
Title of invention: Extra-large marker
[0001] The invention relates to a writing tool. It is an extra-large calligraphic marker suitable for very large calligraphy. It can also be used for graffiti, tags or other large markings and other artistic creations, on any support, whether horizontal or vertical. Prior art
[0002] Currently, only marker-type writing tools exist whose lead can measure a maximum of 60 mm in width. These markers have the following disadvantages:
[0003] Extra wide markers only allow you to draw calligraphy or other markings up to 60 mm thick.
[0004] The markers are refillable only with industrial inks.
[0005] Markers that are refillable are not washable.
[0006] Refillable markers cannot be emptied. There is a risk of waste.
[0007] The marker leads are interchangeable. They remain disposable. There is no pos ability to wash them for reuse.
[0008] Benefits provided:
[0009] The disadvantage posed by the impossibility of drawing very large calligraphy or markings is solved by the invention. According to the particular embodiments, the length of this extra-large calligraphic marker can measure between 5 cm and 50 cm, or even more. Thus, a range of extra-large calligraphic markers can be manufactured. The variant being the length can be declined according to the following measurements: either 5 cm, or 10 cm, or 15 cm, or 20 cm, or 25 cm, or 30 cm, or 35 cm, or 40 cm, or 45 cm, or 50 cm, or even more.
[0010] Industrial, traditional or mixed inks can be used. The body of the marker is hollow: it serves as a reservoir which, according to this second characteristic, can be filled with alcohol-based, water-based, acrylic inks or any products derived from water-based and alcohol-based ink. Depending on the particular manufacturing methods, the capacity of the reservoir is determinable as a function of the length of the body of the extra-large marker.
[0011] Its lead is made of a rigid felt, washable in order to minimize its ecological impact on the environment. The felt is removable: it can be incorporated or removed.
[0012] To avoid any waste, the tank can be emptied, after use, by means of the opening closed by the clip-on cap or by removing the felt. The tank is washable. Brief description of the drawings
[0013] The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention.
[0014] [Fig.l] represents a front view of the invention.
[0015] [Fig.2] represents a side and sectional view of the device of the invention. The Figures 2(A), 2(B), 2(C) represent the different possible mine shapes
[0016] [Fig. 3] represents a three-dimensional view of the invention. Description of the embodiments
[0017] With reference to these drawings, the extra-large calligraphy marker is composed of two separate parts: a body and a felt tip. These parts fit together. Its total height (body and felt tip) is 11 cm. The length can vary between 5 cm and 50 cm, or even more.
[0018] The body is made of plastic: it is a hollow block. Two manufacturing processes are possible to obtain this block. In a first manufacturing process, according to a characteristic not illustrated, this block is made up of two symmetrical pieces each 0.1 - 0.2 cm thick. The two pieces are assembled by gluing. In a second manufacturing process, the block is made in a single piece. It has a height of 8 cm. Depending on the particular embodiments, its length varies between 5 cm and 50 cm, or even more.
[0019] In the embodiment according to [Fig.l], the front and rear faces of the marker body are identical. This characteristic means that it can be used by both left-handed and right-handed people. Its anatomy is ergonomic. Its front and rear faces comprise four parts:
[0020] At the top, a flat part 1.7 cm high
[0021] A gutter, 2cm high, 0.45cm deep, serving as a handle and allowing a good grip of the marker (2)
[0022] An intermediate, striated lower part, 2.8 cm high (3)
[0023] A rim, 3 cm high, 0.2 cm thick
[0024] In the embodiment according to [Fig.2], the side faces comprise four parts:
[0025] A long and high upper part of 1.7 cm
[0026] A notch, corresponding to the gutter: curved part 2 cm high, depth 0.45 cm
[0027] An intermediate part, in the shape of an inverted trapezoid, 2.8 cm high, large base measuring 1.7 cm, small base measuring 0.8 cm
[0028] A rim, in the shape of an inverted trapezoid, 12.5 cm high, large base measuring 0.8 cm, small base measuring 0.6 cm
[0029] According to a feature not illustrated, the base of the marker body is a slot: It is a narrow opening of 0.6 cm. It allows the felt to be inserted.
[0030] In the embodiment according to figures 1 and 2, the felt (4) is rigid. It is 0.6 cm thick. Depending on the particular manufacturing methods, its length varies depending on the marker into which it is inserted. The measurement of this length can vary between 10 cm and 50 cm, or even more. Its total height is 5 cm. A 2 cm high part is introduced inside the body of the marker. It serves as a wick. It allows the ink to diffuse by capillarity to the lead. The lead is the part of the felt, measuring 3 cm and protruding from the body of the marker. Depending on the particular manufacturing methods, three types of felt can be adapted: a felt with a flat lead (A), a felt with a lead beveled at an angle of 35° (B) or a felt with a rounded lead (C).
[0031] The top face of the marker is flat. It is 1.7 cm wide. It has rounded edges. In the middle is a 1 cm by 3 cm clip-on cap (1), which covers an opening for filling the tank.
[0032] This extra-large calligraphic marker is intended for creations in the plastic arts and in creative leisure activities.
