Description

Title of the invention: MOTOR VEHICLE COMPRISING A RADIATOR EQUIPPED WITH AN ELECTROMAGNET FOR FIXING A FILTER PART, AND A METHOD BASED ON SUCH A VEHICLE

[0001] The invention relates to the field of radiators for motor vehicles, in particular charge air radiators. The invention relates more particularly to the attachment of a filter element in an interface I of the radiator.

[0002] In this area, the prior art solution illustrated in figures 1 and 2 relates to a fixing by means of a cage CF surrounding the filtering part PF, and carrying a clipping system comprising clips C arranged laterally to the filtering part PF.

[0003] This solution involves problems with poor clipping of the CF cage on interface I. Thus, the applicant has further added a fixing screw V fixing the CF cage to interface I towards the rear, so that the CF cage gets stuck when it is housed with interface I.

[0004] The current fastening is not entirely satisfactory because it requires an additional screwing step in a confined space, which implies significant operating time. Furthermore, this fastening makes disassembly steps for the filter part PF and the cage CF difficult.

[0005] An objective of the present invention is to remedy the defects of the prior art, and in particular to propose a fixing solution facilitating the assembly and disassembly of the cage and the filtering part.

[0006] To achieve this objective, the invention proposes a motor vehicle comprising a radiator which includes: - a filtering part generally prismatic or cylindrical in shape, having a reference in space comprising an assembly axis along an assembly direction of the filtering part, a lateral axis perpendicular to the assembly axis, and a height axis perpendicular to the assembly axis and the lateral axis; - a cage, generally prismatic or cylindrical in shape, receiving and surrounding the filtering part along the assembly axis and the lateral axis, the cage including lateral clipping structures to fix the cage and the filtering part laterally with reference to the lateral axis, the cage including a rear working section with reference to the assembly axis; - a fixing interface for attaching the cage and the filtering part, the interface comprising an assembly section receiving the working section, and two sections of side clips receiving the clipping structures, characterized in that the radiator further comprises at least one electromagnet disposed on the assembly section, and in that the cage comprises at least one magnetized part disposed in the working section, cooperating with said electromagnet to fix the assembly section to the working section.

[0007] Advantageously, the invention makes it possible to achieve a fixing by magnetic pads (with integrated magnets) to fix a plastic cage with an electromagnet powered by the electrical conduit of a radiator fan to reinforce the fixing via a magnetic shock effect.

[0008] In addition, the invention makes it possible to eliminate the fixing screw of the prior art, and to replace it with an electromagnet integrated into the interface coupled to another magnet in the rear face of the plastic cage.

[0009] According to one variant, the clipping structures each comprise a magnetic coating configured to cooperate with said electromagnet to fix the cage to the interface.

[0010] This helps to reinforce the cage fixing and the clipping hold.

[0011] According to one variant, the working section includes a magnetic coating configured to cooperate with said electromagnet to fix the cage to the interface.

[0012] This helps to reinforce the fixing of the working section.

[0013] According to one variant, the assembly section and the working section each comprise assembly structures in the form of studs inserted into one another.

[0014] This allows the cage assembly to be improved on the interface by a cooperation of shape between the studs.

[0015] According to one variant, the radiator further comprises a fan and an electrical conduit for the fan, characterized in that the electrical conduit for the fan further supplies said electromagnet.

[0016] This simplifies the manufacture of the radiator by using an existing power supply for the electromagnet.

[0017] Another object of the invention relates to a charge air radiator for a motor vehicle according to the invention, comprising: - a filtering part generally prismatic or cylindrical in shape, having a reference in space comprising an assembly axis along an assembly direction of the filtering part, a lateral axis perpendicular to the assembly axis, and a height axis perpendicular to the assembly axis and the lateral axis; - a cage, generally prismatic or cylindrical in shape, receiving and surrounding the filter element along the assembly axis and the lateral axis, the cage including lateral clipping structures to fix the cage and the filter element laterally in with reference to the lateral axis, the cage comprising a rear working section with reference to the assembly axis; - a fixing interface for securing the cage and the filtering part, the interface comprising an assembly section receiving the working section, and two lateral clipping sections receiving the clipping structures, characterized in that the radiator further comprises at least one electromagnet disposed on the assembly section, and in that the cage comprises at least one magnetized part disposed on the working section, cooperating with said electromagnet to fix the assembly section to the working section.

[0018] The invention further relates to a method for assembling a radiator of a motor vehicle according to the invention, comprising the following steps: - optionally place the filtering part in the cage; - insert the cage equipped with the filtering part into the interface; - fix the clipping structures; - to power said electromagnet so as to fix the assembly section to the working section.

[0019] The invention further relates to a method for disassembling a radiator from a motor vehicle according to the invention, comprising the following steps: - cut off the power supply to said electromagnet so as to remove the attachment of the assembly section to the working section; - remove the fasteners from the clipping structures; - remove the cage equipped with the filtering part, the interface; - optionally remove the filter part of the cage.

[0020] The invention will be further detailed by describing non-limiting embodiments, and based on the accompanying figures illustrating variants of the invention, in which: - [Fig.l] schematically illustrates a view in space showing the front of an assembly according to the prior art of a filtering part and a cage on an interface; - [Fig.2] schematically illustrates a view in space showing the underside of the assembly of [Fig.1]; - [Fig.3] schematically illustrates a view in space showing one side of an assembly according to an embodiment of the invention, of a filtering part and a cage on an interface; - [Fig.4] schematically illustrates a view according to [Fig.3], showing only the filtering part; - [Fig.5] schematically illustrates a view similar to that of [Fig.3], showing only the parts of the electromagnet.

[0021] The invention relates to a motor vehicle comprising a radiator, in particular a charge air radiator, having a specific structure.

[0022] The radiator comprises on the one hand an assembly interface I, and on the other hand a filtering part PF and a cage CF arranged in the interface I. The interface I may be that of the prior art (illustrated in figures 1 and 2).

[0023] The radiator is described with reference to a frame of reference in space comprising an assembly axis X along an assembly direction of the filter part PF, a lateral axis Y perpendicular to the assembly axis X, and a height axis Z perpendicular to the assembly axis X and to the lateral axis Y. In the figures, the assembly axis X is oriented towards the front of the radiator and the assembly of the filter part PF in the interface I is towards the rear.

[0024] The filtering part PF generally has a prismatic or cylindrical shape, the base of which is arranged along the assembly axis X and the lateral axis Y, and the height is arranged along the height axis Z.

[0025] The cage CF receives and surrounds the filtering part PF along the assembly axis X and the lateral axis Y. Thus, the cage CF has a generally prismatic or cylindrical shape, corresponding to the filtering part PF.

[0026] The CF cage includes lateral C-clipping structures similar to those of the prior art.

[0027] The CF cage further includes a rear working section ST with reference to the assembly axis X.

[0028] The interface I comprises an assembly section SA receiving the working section ST, and two lateral clipping sections SC receiving the lateral clipping structures C.

[0029] According to the invention, the radiator further comprises at least one electromagnet, in particular several pieces of electromagnets EA, CA, FA, arranged at the level of the assembly section SA.

[0030] This refers in particular to a return piece in the shape of a flat cylinder with a magnetized front face FA, carrying forward a body of the electromagnet EA, which itself carries forward a hollow magnetized cylinder CA.

[0031] In addition, the cage CF includes at least one magnetized part, in particular two magnetized parts PA, TA, arranged on the working section ST, cooperating with said electromagnet EA to fix the assembly section SA to the working section ST.

[0032] This refers in particular to a magnetized rod TA inserted into the magnetized cylinder CA. A body of the magnetized part PA receives the body of the electromagnet EA.

[0033] In the preferred embodiment, the clipping structures C and the working surface each comprise a magnetic coating configured to cooperate with said electromagnet (parts EA, CA, FA) to fix the cage CF to the interface I.

[0034] In particular, the radiator is of the type comprising a fan and a fan electrical conduit. Thus, said electromagnet can be powered by the fan electrical conduit or that of the motor-fan assembly to enhance the magnetic effect via a magnetic shock arc.

[0035] The electromagnet EA can be mounted on a relay box of the fan motor assembly, or mounted and powered by the fan's electrical conduit. This allows for its electronic activation and deactivation to emit a magnetic field to enhance the magnetic effect of the fan motor assembly's mounting studs.

[0036] The other technical advantages of the invention are as follows: - good fixing hold; - removal of the prior art fixing screw V (figures 1 and 2), and removal of the tapping of the screw V; - a reduction in the amount of plastic in the CF cage; - Easier assembly.
