Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: RECREATIONAL VEHICLE WITH A TRANSVERSE BED WITH A TWO-PART BASE, ONE OF WHICH IS MOBILE Technical field of the invention
[0001] The invention relates to a leisure vehicle, the rear part of which comprises an upper part constituting a sleeping space which comprises at least one flat sleeping element such as a first bed base element which is movable between a horizontal sleeping position and a storage position in order, outside of periods of use for sleeping, to be able to access one or more functional areas of the vehicle. Technical background
[0002] Such an arrangement may, for example, comprise a rear transverse bed comprising a two-part bed base including a first movable bed base element and a second adjacent and coplanar fixed bed base element, making it possible to have a large double transverse bed.
[0003] Thanks to the possibility of moving the movable element of the bed base, it is a question of providing access to the area below which the movable element extends in the horizontal position of use and / or to equipment and / or storage located in this area.
[0004] The recreational vehicle is for example a camper van or a caravan.
[0005] The fixed part of the sleeping surface extends for example above a rear luggage or bicycle compartment inside which it is for example possible to access from outside the vehicle, the fixed bed base element then being arranged at the rear end of the vehicle and the movable bed base element being arranged at the front relative to the fixed rear element, thus with a possibility of accessing the sleeping area "from the front" from inside the vehicle.
[0006] It is also known to longitudinally invert such an arrangement, for example for a van or a van, with the movable element of the bed base arranged at the rear end of the vehicle, with the possibility of accessing "from the rear" the upper sleeping area.
[0007] The invention aims to propose a design of such a type of arrangement which presents the greatest modularity and versatility as regards the storage kinematics of the mobile bed base element and as regards the access thus offered to different functional zones of use arranged below the mobile bed base element. [0022] For the description of the invention and the understanding of the claims, the vertical, longitudinal and transverse orientations according to the reference V, L, T indicated in the figures, the longitudinal L and transverse T axes of which extend in a horizontal plane, will be adopted without limitation.
[0023] The terms "longitudinal", "transverse", "vertical" and "horizontal" here refer to the longitudinal L, transverse T and vertical V orientations of a recreational vehicle, and the transverse axis is oriented from right to left considering the forward rolling direction of the vehicle.
[0024] By convention, the longitudinal axis L is oriented from the rear to the front of the vehicle.
[0025] In the following description, identical, similar or analogous elements will be designated by the same reference numbers.
[0026] The recreational vehicle is for example a camper van. Alternatively, the recreational vehicle may for example be a van or a caravan.
[0027] The front part of the vehicle - not shown - includes in particular the driving position with two front seats, left and right, and the rear part of the vehicle, partially shown in the figures, is its interior habitable compartment of which only the rear end part is shown in [Fig.l].
[0028] This habitable rear part or zone 10 is delimited in particular by the rear transverse, right lateral and left lateral vertical walls of longitudinal orientation not shown. It is also delimited by a floor and by a horizontal upper wall.
[0029] The rear interior habitable area receives components and various equipment allowing living inside the vehicle, some of which are shown in [Fig.l],
[0030] By way of non-limiting example, there are shown storage elements 11 on the right and a sanitary block 12 on the left which delimit between them a longitudinal central passage or corridor 13.
[0031] Longitudinally towards the rear, beyond an intermediate transverse partition 14, the central corridor 13 opens opposite a rear transverse bed 16.
[0032] More precisely, there is a rear transverse partition 15 which extends vertically upwards from the floor 17 (See [Fig.5]) over a part of the total available height and which is surmounted by the rear transverse bed 16 which here extends horizontally over the entire transverse width of the rear habitable area and here substantially at mid-height, delimiting an upper sleeping part located above the bed and a lower functional part located below the front part of the bed 16.
[0033] The bed 16 comprises a bed base in two elements including a fixed rear element 18 which extends longitudinally towards the rear beyond the rear transverse partition 15, here above a rear luggage or bicycle compartment 19 inside which it is possible to access from outside the vehicle, and also possibly thanks to a hatch or low door 21 provided for this purpose in the rear transverse partition 15 (See [Fig.5]).
[0034] The upper bed 16 also includes a front box spring element 20.
[0035] Each rear 18 and front 20 bed base element is here constituted by a rectangular frame which receives slats.
[0036] The bed is completed by mattress elements M partially visible in certain figures.
[0037] It is preferably a mattress in two elements which can be superimposed in storage position of the movable front bed base element.
[0038] The fixed rear bed base element 18 is delimited longitudinally by a rear transverse edge 24 and by a front transverse edge 26, while the movable front bed base element is delimited by a rear transverse edge 28 and by a front transverse edge 30.
[0039] The two bed base elements 18 and 20 here have identical dimensions and in particular have an identical width separating their rear transverse edge from their front transverse edge in the longitudinal direction.
[0040] The front transverse edge 30 of the front bed base element 20, consisting of an upright of its frame, comprises a central handle 32 allowing its manipulation.
[0041] As can be seen in Figures 2 to 4, the design and arrangement of the two bed base elements 18 and 20 allows two distinct modes of handling and moving the front bed base element 20 in order, starting from its horizontal front sleeping position shown in [Fig. 2], to bring it into one or other of two distinct storage positions illustrated in Figures 3 and 4.
[0042] The first mode consists of pivoting the front bed base element 20 around a rear transverse axis A1 located longitudinally substantially in line with its rear transverse edge 28.
[0043] These pivoting movements according to the arrow Fl in [Fig.2] allow it to be pivoted from its horizontal position before lying down and its high storage position shown in [Fig.3] in which it extends substantially vertically, and vice versa to return to the position illustrated in [Fig.2].
[0044] Locking means (not shown) may be provided to retain the front bed base element 20 in its upper vertical storage position.
[0045] The second mode consists of sliding the front bed base element 20 horizontally in its plane according to the arrow F2 of [Fig.2].
[0046] A longitudinal sliding movement towards the rear starting from the position of [Fig.2] allows it to be moved from its horizontal front sleeping position to its horizontal rear storage position shown in [Fig.4] in which it extends horizontally below the fixed rear bed base element 18, and vice versa to return to the position illustrated in [Fig.2].
[0047] It is thus possible to move in both directions and to store or deploy the front bed base element 20 in the manner of a drawer.
[0048] The rear horizontal storage position is offset longitudinally relative to the front horizontal sleeping position so that, as can be seen in [Fig. 4], it is entirely retracted under the rear bed base element 18 with its front transverse edge 30 located substantially to the right of the front transverse edge 26 of the rear bed base element 18 or offset rearwardly relative to the latter.
[0049] Thus, as can be seen in [Fig.4], over the entire transverse width, the area previously located below the front bed base element 20 in the horizontal sleeping position is completely clear upwards.
[0050] By comparison, considering [Fig. 3], when the front bed base element 20 is in its upper vertical storage position, it overlaps longitudinally forwards by being located forwards beyond the front transverse upright 26 of the fixed rear bed base element 18.
[0051] Thus, the front bed base element 20 is pivotally mounted between its low horizontal sleeping position in which it extends horizontally in the extension of the fixed rear bed base element 18 to constitute a sleeping surface, and a high vertical storage position.
[0052] The upper bed 16 vertically delimits a sleeping space, which is delimited longitudinally towards the front by the front transverse edge 30 of the front bed base element 20 which here constitutes a threshold edge allowing access to the upper part of the interior habitable zone.
[0053] As can be seen in more detail in [Fig.9], each bed base element 18, 20 is here produced in the form of a tubular frame comprising two parallel transverse uprights 28-30, 24-26 which are connected to each other in pairs by longitudinal end uprights 29, 25 (See figures 10 and 11).
[0054] The design of the means for fixing the bed 16 and for guiding the movement of the movable front bed base element 20 is identical at each of the two transverse ends of the bed 16.
[0055] For the assembly and fixing of the entire bed 16, the latter comprises two opposite longitudinal rails 60, each of which, for example, is designed to be fixed to a right lateral zone ZD and a left lateral zone ZG.
[0056] The longitudinal uprights 25 of the fixed rear bed base element 18 are here fixed, each on the upper face 62 of an associated rail 60.
[0057] On its internal lateral face 64, of longitudinal and vertical orientation, each rail 60 comprises a longitudinal and continuous guide groove 66.
[0058] Each guide groove 66 comprises a rectilinear and horizontal rear section 68 and a rectilinear and horizontal front section 70.
[0059] These two rectilinear sections 68 and 70 are connected to each other by a central section 72 forming a ramp 74 and a notch 76.
[0060] At its front end, the rectilinear front section 70 comprises a front end section 73 of similar design forming a ramp 75 and a notch 77.
[0061] Each rail 60 with its guide groove 66 receives, sliding longitudinally in both directions, a carriage 80 which is designed to carry a transverse end of the movable bed base element 20.
[0062] Each carriage 80 is in the form of a bar which, on its external lateral face 82, carries a pair of vertical rotating rollers 84, each of which is carried by a transverse axis 86.
[0063] The rollers 84 are received inside a rail 60 and each axle 86 is received in the guide groove 66.
[0064] The external lateral face 82 also carries two horizontal rotating rollers 88 which cooperate with the internal lateral face 64 of the associated rail 60.
[0065] At its rear longitudinal end 89, each rear longitudinal upright 28 of the movable bed base element 20 carries a transverse axis 90 by means of which the rear longitudinal end 81 of the bar 80 is pivotally mounted in both directions around the transverse axis AL.
[0066] In the vicinity of its front longitudinal end 83, each carriage 80 comprises a leg 92 on which, in the horizontal position of use of the movable bed base element 20, a longitudinal end upright 29 rests vertically.
[0067] Thus, when this downward support is carried out, each longitudinal upright is parallel to the associated carriage 80 which is itself mounted to slide horizontally on the associated rail 60.
[0068] To assist the pivoting movements in both directions of the movable bed base element 20 around the axis A1, at each transverse end, a damper 94 is provided which intervenes between the carriage 80 and the associated transverse upright 29.
[0069] In the front horizontal longitudinal position of the movable bed base element 20, each axis 86 is housed in an associated notch 77.
[0070] To slide the movable bed base element 20 longitudinally backwards under the fixed rear bed base element 18, it is necessary to apply a longitudinal force backwards by acting on the front transverse upright by means of the handle(s) 32 to simultaneously cross the two notches 77 and 76 and then slide the assembly in the groove until the front axis 86 is received in the front notch 76 which then constitutes a notch for locking the movable bed base element 20 in its horizontal storage position.
[0071] Finally, in the vicinity of its rear end, each guide groove 66 has a through opening 67 allowing initial assembly by introduction of the rollers 84 with their axes 86 inside the guide rail 60.
[0072] As can be seen in particular in Figures 3 and 4, the zone which is located below the front bed base element 20 in the sleeping position is here arranged with two lateral functional zones ZG and ZD which are arranged opposite each other and separated from each other by a free central space 34 located in the extension of the central corridor 13.
[0073] The portion of the rear transverse partition 15, located between these two zones can, as seen in fig 5, include a door or hatch 21 for access to the rear hold 19.
[0074] In the storage position, high vertical or horizontal below the rear bed base element 18, of the front bed base element 20 it is possible to stand in the central space 34 and to access the two functional zones ZG and ZD.
[0075] Each functional lateral zone ZG, ZD is delimited vertically upwards by an upper plate 36G, 36D and it is delimited laterally by a lateral face 38G, 38D, of vertical and longitudinal orientation, allowing - depending on the associated functionalities - access to the interior of said associated functional lateral zone.
[0076] As can be seen in [Fig.4], in the horizontal storage position of the front element of the bed base 20, the entirety of each upper plate 36G, 36D is clear, allowing the entire useful surface area to be used and / or to be pivoted as will be explained later.
[0077] As can be seen in [Fig. 3], in the high vertical position of the front bed base element 20, the latter slightly encroaches on these surfaces, close to the rear transverse partition 15. Nevertheless, in this position, it is possible to access the side door 42 without having to unmake the bed.
[0078] According to the example of arrangement illustrated in detail in figures 5 and 6, the left functional zone ZG is a wardrobe comprising a rod 40 for hanging clothes.
[0079] Here it is possible to access the interior of the wardrobe, either laterally or from above.
[0080] As can be seen in [Fig.5], to access it laterally, a side access door 42 is provided which is pivotally mounted around a vertical axis A2.
[0081] In the closed position, the side door 42 ensures the closure of the side face 38G providing access to the interior of the left functional side zone ZG.
[0082] If the available space is not used as a wardrobe, the side door 42 provides access to it as a storage volume.
[0083] As can be seen in [Fig.6], to access the interior volume and the wardrobe rod 40, it is also possible to pivot the upper plate 36G which is pivotally mounted around a horizontal and transverse axis A3 between its horizontal rest position and a substantially vertical raised position.
[0084] The wardrobe rod 40 is a horizontal bar parallel to this pivot axis A3.
[0085] The rod 40 and the wardrobe can thus be accessed from above.
[0086] According to a particularly advantageous arrangement illustrated in [Fig.6], the wardrobe rod 40 is mounted to move - generally vertically - between a high position deployed and its low storage position Illustrated in [Fig.5].
[0087] For this purpose, the wardrobe rod is mechanically connected by vertical guide means 46 and drive means 48 linked to the pivoting upper plate 36G.
[0088] Thus, the wardrobe rod 40 is in its low storage position when the horizontal plate 36G is in its horizontal position ([Fig.5]), and it is in its high deployed position when the horizontal plate 36G is in its raised position ([Fig.6]).
[0089] According to the example of arrangement illustrated in detail in figures 5, 7 and 8, the right functional zone ZD is a desk comprising a work surface constituted by the upper face 50 of the upper plate 36D.
[0090] As can be seen in [Fig.5], in the lower part, the lateral face 38D is at least partially open to allow a user seated in front of the work surface to place his legs at least partly inside the right functional lateral zone ZD, through this lateral face 38D
[0091] As can be seen in Figures 7 and 8, the desk may include a storage drawer 54 which slides transversely, and a hatch 56, providing access to electrical connection means, which is pivotally mounted around a longitudinal axis A4.
[0092] The equipment for office use can also be supplemented by a screen 58 carried by a wall bracket.
