Abstract

1. Device for protecting a basket operator of static or mobile elevating work platforms of all categories from climatic conditions or the working environment. (Fig. 7) 2. The invention provides physical protection for the basket operator during task performance by means of a structure that can be dismantled as needed, by one or several people, allowing them to move safely within their environment. 3. It enables access to work areas outside the baskets of the platforms via specific openings to carry out the required tasks. It is also possible to provide a set of tools specific to each trade to ensure quick and safe handling.4. The device according to the invention is intended for all sectors using lifting platforms in various trades such as telecommunications, electricity, industrial cleaning, tree trimming, local authorities, etc. 5. The diagrams in Figures 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are those of the prototype used to develop the project. The device will be further developed using a more flexible material to make it even easier to install.

1. The operator, without this device, is subject to the meteorological or other constraints of his working environment, preventing him from carrying out his tasks optimally and without danger to his electronic equipment, for example, or to measurements or installation, but also to his physical and mental health, which can be caused by working in difficult conditions.

2. In some cases, aerial work platform operators must stop working until conditions improve so they can continue their tasks, leading to a drop in their productivity.

In other cases, the handlers persist in working despite inappropriate conditions, which regularly leads to premature deterioration of the equipment used in the baskets and poor performance of the tasks carried out. This also forces them to work faster, which harms the quality of compliance with the processes for carrying out the tasks to be accomplished.

4. The device according to the invention makes it possible to overcome these drawbacks. It comprises, in fact, according to a first characteristic, a removable structure on the periphery of the basket protecting the manipulator on all sides as well as above it (see plan at the end of the document). Once the device is installed, the manipulator can access the basket of the nacelle in the same way as without this device and can move the basket without constraints while keeping in mind that the structure increases its overall height and therefore its approach to sensitive electrical zones.

5. The device allows access to work areas outside the baskets of the cradles via specific openings to carry out the required tasks. It is also possible to have a set of tools specific to each trade to make their handling accessible quickly and safely.

6. The device can also adapt to climatic conditions to protect against bad weather but also against the sun and wind for optimum and safe work.
