Description

Title of the invention: WATER TREATMENT DEVICE TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to the field of water treatment devices, in particular water treatment devices comprising a tank provided with a central column and a rotating device intended to mechanically connect a walkway to the central column. STATE OF THE ART

[0002] Water treatment devices comprising a tank provided with a central column and a rotating device intended to mechanically connect a walkway to the central column are well known. These may be, for example, flotation units or clarifiers, also called decanters, intended for the purification of wastewater.

[0003] The rotary device of such water treatment devices typically comprises a slewing ring with two rings, an inner ring, for example with balls or rollers, and an outer ring, for example with balls or rollers, movable relative to each other.

[0004] Typically, the positioning of the slewing ring does not allow for easy visual inspection of the slewing ring and the base.

[0005] The means for attaching the slewing ring to the central column and the gangway also usually cover the slewing ring raceway, preventing any visual verification of the slewing ring lubrication.

[0006] Furthermore, access to the slewing ring is complex. The operations of dismantling and replacing the slewing ring require the use of heavy equipment, such as a crane, in order to lift the bridge.

[0007] The present invention falls within this context. Summary of the invention

[0008] The present invention relates, according to a first aspect, to a water treatment device comprising: - a tank provided with a central column extending from the bottom of the tank along a longitudinal axis; and - a rotating device intended to mechanically connect a walkway to the central column, said rotating device comprising: - a support column secured to the central column and extending from the central column along the longitudinal axis; - a frame intended to support the footbridge; and - a slewing ring comprising an inner ring and an outer ring movable in rotation relative to each other along the longitudinal axis; the outer ring of the slewing ring being integral with the chassis and the inner ring of the slewing ring being integral with the support column.

[0009] Thanks to the presence of a support column extending from the central column of the tank, the water treatment device according to the first aspect of the invention allows simplified maintenance of the slewing ring. In the device according to the first aspect of the invention, the slewing ring, raised relative to the central column, is easily accessible. Access to the fixing elements of the slewing ring is now possible, in particular from the walkway, thanks to the elevation of the slewing ring.

[0010] The features set out below may, optionally, be implemented, independently or in combination.

[0011] According to one embodiment, the tank of the water treatment device is a circular tank.

[0012] According to one embodiment, the water treatment device comprises a peripherally driven walkway pivotally mounted along the longitudinal axis on the central column by means of the rotary device.

[0013] According to one embodiment, the rotary device further comprises a connection flange connecting the support column to the inner ring of the slewing ring. The connection flange fixed on the one hand to the support column and on the other hand to the inner ring of the slewing ring allows simplified maintenance of the slewing ring by handling the connection flange.

[0014] According to one embodiment, the inner ring of the slewing ring is mounted suspended relative to the connecting flange and said connecting flange extends radially from the inner ring of the slewing ring in the direction of the longitudinal axis. This positioning of the inner ring of the slewing ring relative to the connecting flange makes it possible to ensure a visual inspection of the slewing ring and the raceway from the walkway.

[0015] According to one embodiment, the chassis is mounted suspended relative to the outer ring of the slewing ring. This positioning of the chassis, suspended under the outer ring, allows easy disassembly of the slewing ring.

[0016] According to one embodiment, the support column comprises a lower flange and the water treatment device comprises a plurality of plates on the upper surface of the central column and leveling screws. The leveling screws are adapted to cooperate with the lower flange of the support column and the plates in order to adjust the orientation of the support column on the surface of the central column.

[0017] According to one embodiment, the central column comprises a base on its surface upper, serving as anchor for the means of fixing the support column to the central column.

[0018] According to one embodiment, the chassis is fixed to the outer ring of the slewing ring by fixing elements extending parallel to the longitudinal axis at a distance from the longitudinal axis less than the radius of the central column. This method of fixing the chassis to the outer ring of the slewing ring makes it possible to simplify the dismantling of the slewing ring, without the need to remove the chassis and the gangway. The fixing elements can be replaced by temporary elements which bear, directly or indirectly, on the central column and keep the chassis fixed relative to the central column during the dismantling and replacement of the slewing ring.

[0019] According to one embodiment, the processing device further comprises a support for a rotary collector, said support extending from the central column along the longitudinal axis through the support column. The presence of the support column surrounding the support for the rotary collector ensures the protection of the power cable(s) during maintenance operations.

[0020] According to one embodiment, the support column comprises at least one opening. This embodiment makes it possible to avoid water stagnation inside the support column. It also allows access to the inside of the support column, for example to place jacks there to facilitate the replacement of the slewing ring.

[0021] According to one embodiment, the frame comprises at its periphery a plurality of support elements, each being configured to receive a support element of a tank cover. This embodiment makes it possible to simplify the assembly or disassembly of the tank cover by ensuring easy access from the walkway to the support elements. According to one embodiment, the support elements are located on the upper surface of the frame.

[0022] The present invention relates, according to a second aspect, to a method for dismantling a slewing ring of a water treatment device according to the first aspect of the invention, comprising the following steps: - the replacement of a plurality of the fixing elements fixing the chassis to the outer ring of the slewing ring by threaded rods cooperating with the chassis and bearing on the central column, - removal of the remaining elements among the fixing elements fixing the chassis to the outer ring of the slewing ring, - removal of the fixing elements between the connection flange and the support column, and - the lifting of the assembly formed by the orientation ring and the connection flange relative to the support column.

[0023] Thus, it is possible to dismantle the slewing ring simply, without lifting the gangway. The frame supporting the gangway is held in place by means of the threaded rods.

[0024] The present invention relates, according to a third aspect, to a method for replacing a slewing ring of a water treatment device according to the first aspect of the invention, comprising the following steps: - the dismantling of a slewing ring according to the method of the second aspect of the invention, - removal of the fixing elements between the inner ring of the slewing ring and the connecting flange, - the installation of a new orientation ring mounted suspended from the connection flange, - fixing the connection flange on the support column, - fixing the chassis to the outer ring of the slewing ring, and - the replacement of the threaded rods cooperating with the chassis and resting on the central column by fixing elements fixing the chassis to the outer ring of the slewing ring. [0034] In [Fig. 1], a schematic sectional view of a water treatment device 1 according to the invention is shown.

[0035] The water treatment device 1 comprises a tank 2 provided with a central column 3 extending from the bottom of the tank 2 along a longitudinal axis A.

[0036] The tank 2 of the water treatment device 1 is preferably a circular tank. The tank could also be of any other shape within the reach of those skilled in the art, such as for example a rectangular shape.

[0037] As illustrated in [Fig.l], the water treatment device 1 may comprise a peripherally driven walkway 4 pivotally mounted along the longitudinal axis A on the central column 3 by means of a rotary device 5.

[0038] In the illustrated embodiment, the inner end of the gangway 4 is supported by the central column 3, by means of the rotary device 5 which will be described in more detail below in connection with [Fig.2] and following. The outer end of the gangway 4 moves along the periphery of the tank 2 in rotation around the longitudinal axis A. The outer end of the gangway 4 comprises drive means 6 of the gangway 4 cooperating with a rolling track along the periphery of the tank 2.

[0039] By "inner end" is meant the end closest to the longitudinal axis A. By "outer end" is meant the end furthest from the longitudinal axis A.

[0040] The drive means 6 of the gangway 4 may be any means within the reach of those skilled in the art, such as a motorized mechanism capable of moving on the rolling path at the periphery of the circular tank 2.

[0041] The drive means 6 are electrically powered by at least one second power cable (not shown) supported by the walkway 4. This or these second power cables are connected to a rotary collector 7 mounted on the central column 3. This rotary collector 7 is illustrated in [Fig. 5]. By rotary collector is meant an electromechanical device for transferring electrical energy from a fixed part to a rotating part. More particularly, the at least one second power cable supported by the walkway 4 is connected to a movable part of the rotary collector 7 and a fixed part of the rotary collector 7 is connected to at least one first power cable passing through the central column 3.

[0042] The walkway 4 comprises a floor 8 and a guardrail 9 allowing users to climb onto the walkway 4 and inspect the equipment.

[0043] The gangway 4 can support a rotating sludge scraping device 10. During the rotation of the gangway 4, the sludge deposited at the bottom 11 of the circular tank 2 is carried by the sludge scraping device 10.

[0044] We will now describe in more detail, in connection with [Fig.2] and following, the rotary device 5 intended to mechanically connect a walkway 4 to the central column 3.

[0045] In [Fig. 2], a partial schematic sectional view of the central column 3 and the rotating device 5 according to one embodiment of the invention is shown.

[0046] The rotary device 5 comprises a support column 12 mounted integrally on the central column 3, in particular on the base of the central column 3. Two elements are said to be "solidar" when the mechanical connection between these two elements does not include any degree of freedom. The support column 12 extends along the longitudinal axis A. As illustrated, the support column 12 is fixed to the central column 3 by means of fixing means 13. By support column 12, also called "support barrel" in English, is meant a hollow column intended to raise and support an orientation ring 26.

[0047] The support column 12 is shown more precisely in [Fig.3].

[0048] As illustrated, the support column 12 is hollow and comprises a cylindrical side wall 14, a lower flange 15 and an upper flange 16. The cylindrical side wall 14 has an outer radius Rc.

[0049] The lower flange 15 extends radially outwardly from the support column 12. The lower flange 15 has an outer radius Rce. The lower flange 15 may also extend radially inwardly from the support column 12.

[0050] The lower flange 15 is fixed to the central column 12 by means of the fixing means 13. This lower flange 15 is preferably formed in a single piece with the support column 12.

[0051] The support column 12 may for example be fixed to a base of the central column 3 by chemical anchoring and / or by bolting elements. By base is meant the upper part of the central column 3 serving as a support for the support column 12.

[0052] A plurality of plates 17 are present on the base of the central column 3 and leveling screws 18 cooperate with the lower flange 15 and the plurality of plates 17 in order to allow the orientation of the support column 12 to be adjusted to the surface of the central column 3.

[0053] The upper flange 16 extends radially inwardly of the support column 12. This upper flange 16 is preferably formed in a single piece with the support column 12. This upper flange 16 comprises a plurality of holes 19 regularly arranged at a distance Rtl from the longitudinal axis A and an opening central 20.

[0054] The support column 12 comprises at least one opening 21 on the side wall 14 of the support column 12, preferably a plurality of openings 21 regularly distributed on the side wall 14 of the support column 12. These openings 21 extend to the foot of the support column 12. These openings 21 have a triple function. They allow the evacuation of water outside the support column 12 and thus prevent water stagnation in the support column 12. They also allow the means for fixing the support column 12 to the base of the central column 3 to be controlled. Finally, they allow the introduction, inside the support column 12, of jacks as will be detailed later in connection with [Fig.7]

[0055] In [Fig.2], it can be seen that the rotary device 5 also comprises a connection flange 22 fixed to the support column 12. The connection flange 22 is fixed to the upper flange 16 of the support column 12.

[0056] This connection flange 22 is shown more precisely in [Fig.4].

[0057] The connecting flange 22 comprises a first plurality of holes 23 regularly arranged at a distance Rt2 from the longitudinal axis A and a second plurality of holes 24 regularly arranged at a distance Rt3 from the longitudinal axis A. The connection flange 22 has an inner radius Rbi, an outer radius Rbe and a central opening 25.

[0058] As illustrated in [Fig.2], the connecting flange 22 is fixed to the upper flange 16 of the support column 12 by means of first fixing elements 38, such as bolting elements. These first fixing elements 38 pass through the plurality of holes 19 of the upper flange 16 and the first plurality of holes 23 of the connecting flange 22. Thus, the distance Rtl is equal to the distance Rt2.

[0059] In [Fig.2], it can be seen that the rotating device 5 also comprises an orientation ring 26.

[0060] This slewing ring 26 comprises an inner ring 27 and an outer ring 28 which are movable in rotation relative to each other along the longitudinal axis A along a rolling path 29.

[0061] The inner ring 27 of the slewing ring 26 is secured to the support column 12. For this purpose, the inner ring 27 is fixed to the connection flange 22. As illustrated, the inner ring 27 is fixed to the connection flange 22 by means of second fixing elements 30, such as bolting elements, passing through the second plurality of holes 24 of the connection flange 22. The second plurality of holes 24 is arranged at a distance Rt3 from the longitudinal axis A greater than the outer radius Rc of the side wall 14 of the support column 12. Thus, the slewing ring 26 is located outside the column support 12.

[0062] The inner ring 27 of the slewing ring 26 is mounted suspended relative to the connecting flange 22. A first element is said to be “mounted suspended” relative to a second element when the weight of the first element is not supported directly by the second element but by means of the fixing means connecting these two elements. In other words, in the absence of the fixing means, the first element would not be supported by the second element. Thus, the inner ring 27 is in contact with the lower surface of the connecting flange 22.

[0063] The outer radius Rbe of the connecting flange 22 is less than or equal to the radius of the raceway 29 of the slewing ring 26 so that the connecting flange 22 does not extend above the outer ring 28 of the slewing ring 26. This allows easy access to the means for fixing the outer ring 28 of the slewing ring 26.

[0064] In [Fig.2], it can be seen that the rotary device 5 also comprises a chassis 31.

[0065] The outer ring 28 of the slewing ring 26 is secured to the chassis 31. For this, the chassis 31 is mounted suspended relative to the outer ring 28 of the slewing ring 26. The outer ring 28 is fixed to the chassis 31 by means of third fixing elements 32, such as bolting elements, passing through a plurality of holes 33 of the chassis 31 and extending parallel to the longitudinal axis A. The plurality of holes 33 of the chassis 31 are arranged at a distance Rt4 from the longitudinal axis A. The distance Rt4 is less than the outer radius Rce of the lower flange 15 of the central column 12.

[0066] A plurality of the holes of the plurality of holes 33 of the frame 31 are tapped so as to be able to cooperate with a threaded rod, as will be detailed in connection with [Fig.6] and [Fig.7]. For example, at least half of the holes of the plurality of holes 33 of the frame 31 are tapped. All of the holes of the plurality of holes 33 of the frame may also be tapped.

[0067] In [Fig. 5], there is shown a partial schematic sectional view of the central column 3, the walkway 4 and the rotating device 5 according to one embodiment of the invention.

[0068] It is observed that the frame 31 supports the gangway 4, in particular the internal end of the gangway 4.

[0069] The gangway 4 is mounted on the chassis 31 by means of articulated connections 34 fixed to the upper surface of the chassis 31. These articulated connections 34 are preferably pivot connections having a connection axis B perpendicular to the longitudinal axis A.

[0070] It is also observed in this figure that the water treatment device 1 comprises a rotary collector 7 and a rotary collector support 35. The rotary collector support 35 extends from the central column 3 through the support column 12 and the opening 25 of the connection flange 22. This rotary collector support 35 is fixed on the base of the central column 3 and configured to accommodate at least a first power cable passing through the central column 3.

[0071] The rotary collector 7 is mounted on the support 35. More particularly, the rotary collector 7 comprises a fixed part mounted on the support 35 and a movable part secured to the gangway 4. Thus the movable part moves in rotation around the longitudinal axis A with the gangway 4. The rotary collector 7 may for example be a rotary ring collector. It provides the electrical power supply to the drive means 6 located at the outer end of the gangway 4.

[0072] It is observed that the water treatment device 1 can also comprise a system for lubricating the crown 36. The system for lubricating the crown 36 is integral with the gangway 4.

[0073] In order to reduce odors, a cover may be mounted on the tank 2. The cover is then supported by a plurality of support elements such as support beams or support arms integral with the rotary device 5. As illustrated in [Fig.5] and [Fig.6], the frame 31 comprises a plurality of support elements 37. These support elements 37 are configured to receive the inner end of the support elements. Alternatively, or in combination, the support elements may also support surface scrapers.

[0074] In [Fig.6], a top view of the rotary device 5 according to one embodiment of the invention is shown.

[0075] The support elements 37, the connection flange 22, the outer ring 28, the first fixing elements 38, the second fixing elements 30 and the third fixing elements 32 as well as the articulated connections 34 are observed.

[0076] The support elements 37 are regularly distributed around the periphery of the frame 31. By regularly distributed, it is meant that the support elements 37 are regularly spaced and at the same distance from the longitudinal axis A. According to the embodiment shown, the water treatment device 1 comprises 13 support elements 37. According to one embodiment, the water treatment device 1 can comprise between 8 and 16 support elements 37. When the tank 2 is covered with a cover or provided with surface scrapers, the water treatment device 1 comprises as many support elements as support elements 37.

[0077] The support elements 37 may be U-shaped bases whose open end is oriented towards the peripheral wall of the tank 2. According to an embodiment not shown, the U-shaped bases are oriented radially. By radially oriented, it is meant that the main direction of the bases extends ra- dially. By main direction is meant the straight line extending substantially perpendicular to the base of the U of each base. According to the embodiment shown, the main direction of the bases forms an angle α with the radial direction of between 30° and 80°, preferably between 40° and 70°. This embodiment makes it possible to reduce the forces undergone by the support elements during rotation of the chassis 31. This arrangement of the bases also improves the mechanical strength of the assembly, and the fatigue strength of the fixing between the bases and the support elements.

[0078] The support elements 37 are located on the upper surface of the frame 31. This embodiment allows the inner end of the support elements to bear on the frame 31. This embodiment facilitates the fixing of the inner ends of the support elements to the support elements 37, for example by fixing means such as bolting elements.

[0079] When the water treatment device is provided with the support elements fixed to the frame 31 by means of the support elements 37, a covering system can rest on the support elements in order to cover the surface of the tank 2. Surface scrapers can also or alternatively be supported by the support elements.

[0080] The present invention also relates to a method of dismantling and a method of replacing a slewing ring 26. [Fig.7] represents a flowchart of a method of dismantling (steps 101 to 107) and replacing (steps 108 to 115) a slewing ring 26 according to an embodiment of the invention.

[0081] [Fig.8] provides a better understanding of the disassembly process and the replacement process of a slewing ring 26.

[0082] In step 101, the lubrication system 36 of the slewing ring 26 is disconnected from the slewing ring 26.

[0083] In step 102, the first power cable(s) of the rotary collector 7 are disconnected, and the rotary collector 7 is temporarily fixed to the guardrail 8 of the walkway 4.

[0084] In step 103, the rotary collector support 35 is removed. The first power cable(s) can then be wound in the support column 12 to ensure their mechanical protection during the following operations.

[0085] In step 104, a portion of the third fixing elements 32 fixing the chassis 31 to the outer ring 28 of the slewing ring 26 is removed, for example half of the third fixing elements 32 is removed. Then, the removed fixing elements are replaced by threaded rods 39. These threaded rods 39 are screwed into the tapped holes of the chassis 33 until they come to bear on the column central column 3. As indicated previously, the distance Rt4 is less than the outer radius Rce of the lower flange 15 of the support column 12, so the threaded rods 39 come to bear on the lower flange 15 of the support column 12. The threaded rods 39 thus come to bear indirectly on the central column 3. The threaded rods 39 are of a size adapted to cooperate with the tapped holes of the frame 33 and the lower flange 15 of the support column 12. When the threaded rods come to bear on the lower flange 15 of the support column 12, they hold the frame 31 relative to the central column 3 by means of the connection between the threaded rods 39 and the tapped holes 33. It is then possible to remove the third fixing elements 32 remaining at step 105.

[0086] In step 105, the remaining fastening elements of the third fastening elements 32 are removed. The chassis 31 is then no longer fixed to the outer ring 28 of the slewing ring 26.

[0087] In step 106, the first fixing elements 38 are removed. Thus, the connection flange 22 is no longer fixed to the support column 12 and the assembly formed by the slewing ring 26 and the connection flange 22 can be removed in step 107. To remove the slewing ring 26 and the connection flange 22, it is also possible to use hydraulic cylinders inserted into the support column 12 through the openings 21.

[0088] The old slewing ring 26 can then be replaced by a new slewing ring 26 (steps 108 to 115).

[0089] In step 108, the second fixing elements 30 are removed so as to separate the connection flange 22 from the slewing ring 26.

[0090] In step 109, a new slewing ring 26 is put in place and mounted suspended relative to the connecting flange 22 by means of the second fixing elements 30 passing through the second plurality of holes 24 of the connecting flange 22.

[0091] In step 110, the connecting flange 22 is fixed to the support column 12 by means of the first fixing elements 38 passing through the first plurality of holes 23 of the connecting flange 22 and the plurality of holes 19 of the support column 12.

[0092] In step 111, the new slewing ring 26 is fixed to the chassis 31. Third fixing elements 32 are fixed through the holes 33 of the chassis 31 devoid of threaded rods 39. The chassis 31 is then again held relative to the support column 12, by means of the connection flange 22 and the slewing ring 26.

[0093] In step 112, the threaded rods 39 cooperating with the frame 31 and bearing on the lower flange 15 of the support column 12 are removed and replaced by third fixing elements 32 fixing the chassis 31 to the outer ring 28 of the slewing ring 26.

[0094] In step 113, the rotary collector support 35 is fixed to the central column 3 through the new slewing ring 26, the connecting flange 22 and the support column 12. The first power cable(s) are inserted into the rotary collector support 35.

[0095] In step 114, the rotary collector 7 is connected to its support 35 and the first power supply cable(s) are electrically reconnected to the rotary collector 7.

[0096] In step 115, the lubrication system 36 of the slewing ring 26 is reconnected to the new slewing ring 26.
