Method and device for controlling a system displaying the permitted speed limit of a vehicle travelling on a section of road

Abstract

The present invention relates to a method and device for controlling a speed limit display system for a vehicle (10) traveling on a section of road (1001). To this end, the method comprises receiving initial data from an onboard image acquisition system of the vehicle, the initial data representing a first speed limit displayed on a road sign (1002) positioned at the edge of the road section; transmitting second data representing the vehicle's geographic position; and receiving third data representing a second speed limit associated with the vehicle's geographic position. The first and second speed limits are then compared, and the display system is controlled based on the result of the comparison and the first and second speed limits. Figure 1 (for the abstract)
