Abstract
The present invention discloses a method for joint production of alumina and iron smelting by the Bayer process. Firstly, the raw materials and auxiliary materials are mixed with bauxite containing a high content of iron oxide. Then high-temperature digestion is conducted on the mixed materials. Through this digestion process, a mixed slurry of red mud and sodium aluminate solution is obtained. Subsequently, this mixed slurry is subjected to sedimentation and separation, yielding red mud and sodium aluminate solution respectively. This red mud-based iron concentrate is proportionally mixed with the pre-set iron concentrate and calcium compounds, and then undergoes high-temperature treatment to produce a mixed sinter for use in an iron-smelting blast furnace. When the mixed sinter is fed into the iron-smelting blast furnace, pure iron products are obtained. Finally, the sodium aluminate solution is subjected to seed precipitation and calcination treatment, resulting in the production of alumina.
