Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] This invention relates to a method for obtaining hydrogen from water by using chloromagnesium plasma prepared according to the following formula (1): TIFF2025009617000002.tif15132 [Background technology]
[0002] Practical methods for obtaining hydrogen from water include the reaction of magnesium hydride with water, steam reforming, and electrolysis of water. [Prior art documents]
[0003] [Patent documents] [Patent documents] Hiroyuki Uesugi Japan Patent 2008-44832, 2009-99534 Light Metals 60(11)(2010), 615-618 Summary of the Invention
[0004] The conventional methods have the following drawbacks: (a) Magnesium hydride reacts with water to generate hydrogen gas, but ultimately becomes magnesium hydroxide, at which point hydrogen generation ends. Continuous hydrogen generation is difficult. Furthermore, Hiroyuki Uesugi et al. reported in "Manufacture and Application of Hydrogen Storage Material MgH2" (Light Metals 60(11)(2010),615-618) that the addition of an acid such as citric acid prevents the formation of magnesium hydroxide and improves hydrolysis. In other words, the use of an acid such as citric acid contributes to the temporary generation of hydrogen, but does not contribute to continuous hydrogen generation. It is stated that the use of magnesium chloride prevents the aggregation of MgH2 molecules and that the heat of hydration of magnesium chloride is effective in locally dissolving the magnesium hydroxide coating, but there is no mention of it being effective in sustaining hydrogen generation. The chloromagnesium plasma of this patent is a new substance (or catalyst) in which chlorine is coordinated to magnesium, resulting in extremely high activity of the electron e-. Due to this high activity, as pointed out by Hiroyuki Uesugi et al., there is a strong possibility that the high release temperature will prevent practical application. It is necessary to devise manufacturing equipment and reaction processes. Hiroyuki Uesugi et al. have devised the Mag-H2reactor for FCVs, but it is a little difficult to use it as a device for mass production of hydrogen. (b) When trying to obtain hydrogen using the steam reforming method, carbon dioxide is generated equal to the number of carbon atoms in the hydrocarbon used, and hydrogen cannot be produced unless this carbon dioxide is processed using CCS or other methods. Processing using CCS involves storing the gas in sand layers on the seabed, which entails costs for separating the carbon dioxide from the mixed gas, liquefying it, and injecting it. These costs are added to the hydrogen produced, making the hydrogen more expensive. (c) The price of hydrogen produced from electrolysis of water is said to be several times that of hydrogen produced from steam reforming (Yomiuri 2022 / 04 / 07), so the production price is not an issue.
[0005] The method of obtaining hydrogen from water using chloromagnesium plasma obtained from formula (1) of the present invention is fundamentally different from the methods of obtaining hydrogen from (b) and (c) in that it utilizes plasma. Historically there has never been a technology that allows hydrogen to continue to flow simply by replenishing water. It is the cheapest method of producing hydrogen. The fact that the raw material for producing chloromagnesium plasma is magnesium, which is abundant on Earth, further enhances its advantages. Effects of the Invention
[0006] Chloromagnesium plasma is suitable for hydrogen oil field type equipment because it can continue to supply hydrogen just by replenishing water. These oil field equipment should be built in various regions and used as a base for revitalizing the regions.
Claims
