Obviously, the described embodiments are only part of the embodiments of the present application, not all of the embodiments. Generally, the components of the embodiments of the present application described and shown in the drawings herein can be arranged and designed in various different configurations.
[0042] Therefore, the following detailed description of the embodiments of the present application provided in the accompanying drawings is not intended to limit the scope of the present application as claimed, but merely represents selected embodiments of the present application. It should be noted that, unless there is a conflict, the various features of the embodiments of the present application may be combined with each other, and the combined embodiments are still within the scope of protection of the present application.
[0043] It should be noted that similar reference numerals and letters denote similar items in the following drawings, and therefore, once an item is defined in one drawing, it does not need to be further defined or explained in subsequent drawings.
[0044] In the description of this application, it should be noted that the terms "center," "upper," "lower," "left," "right," "vertical," "horizontal," "inner," "outer," etc., indicating orientations or positional relationships, are based on the orientations or positional relationships shown in the accompanying drawings, or are the orientations or positional relationships in which the product of this application is typically placed when in use. These terms are intended only to facilitate the description of this application and simplify the description, and are not intended to indicate or imply that the device or element referred to must have a specific orientation, be constructed, or operate in a specific orientation. Therefore, they should not be construed as limitations on this application. Furthermore, the terms "first," "second," "third," etc., are used only to distinguish descriptions and should not be construed as indicating or implying relative importance.
[0045] Furthermore, terms such as "horizontal" and "vertical" do not necessarily mean that a component must be absolutely horizontal or overhanging, but rather that it can be slightly tilted. For example, "horizontal" simply means that its direction is more horizontal than "vertical," and does not mean that the structure must be completely horizontal, but rather that it can be slightly tilted.
[0046] It should also be noted that, in the description of this application, unless otherwise expressly specified or limited, the terms "disposed," "installed," "connected," and "connected" should be understood in a broad sense. For example, they can refer to fixed connections, detachable connections, or integral connections; they can refer to mechanical connections or electrical connections; they can refer to direct connections or indirect connections through an intermediate medium; and they can refer to internal connections between two components. Those skilled in the art will understand the specific meanings of the above terms in this application based on the specific circumstances.
[0047] In the actual application of the laser module, there will be certain requirements for the uniformity of the light spot formed by it. As shown in Figure 1, the optical path principle of a laser module is shown, and a diagram of the optical path principle of a laser module is provided. The laser module includes a laser light source (not shown in the figure) and a fast-axis compression unit 110 arranged in sequence along the optical path. The laser light source can emit multiple different light beams in the same direction. The multiple light beams are compressed in the fast-axis direction by the fast-axis compression unit 110 and then emitted. The fast-axis compression unit 110 can be used to weaken the difference between the fast-axis divergence angle and the slow-axis divergence angle of the light beam, which is beneficial to improving the uniformity of the light spot finally formed. After passing through the fast-axis compression unit 110, the multiple light beams form light spots with relatively uniform energy distribution, such as the geometric connection critical position A where the multiple light beams do not experience energy superposition, the critical position C where the multiple light beams experience the first energy superposition to the second energy superposition, and the critical position D where the multiple light beams experience the second energy superposition to the third energy superposition. The light-colored filled area represents the region where energy superposition occurs as the light beams propagate along the divergence angle. The region between positions A and C is the region where the multiple light beams experience the first energy superposition but not the second energy superposition, and the region between positions C and D is the region where the multiple light beams experience the second energy superposition but not the third energy superposition. Therefore, it should be understood that the first energy superposition in this application is the stage where the multiple light beams experience the first energy superposition. Given the existence of the fast-slow axis divergence angle and as the light beams propagate along their paths, the light beams will experience the second, third, and Nth energy superposition. Of course, the multiple light beams will also form uniform light spots at several other specific locations, such as the overlapping position B at half-maximum width of the energy intensity distribution of the multiple light beams in FIG1 .
[0048] In order to further expand the application of the laser module, so that it can form a flat-top distribution or a light spot with a relatively uniform energy distribution at any position within a certain distance in the optical path, that is, a usable uniform light spot, as shown in FIG1 , a reflection unit 120 can also be provided on the light-emitting side of the fast-axis compression unit 110. The reflection unit 120 is located after the geometric connection critical position A where the multiple light beams do not generate energy superposition, and the reflection unit 120 is approximately located at the edge position of the multiple light beams as a whole. Therefore, after the multiple light beams are emitted by the fast-axis compression unit 110, the edge light can be reflected toward the optical axis by the reflection unit 120, that is, the edge area where the multiple light beams do not generate energy superposition is folded and slightly reflected by the reflection unit 120 (such as the dark-filled area in FIG1 ), thereby forming a light spot with a relatively uniform energy distribution or a light spot with a nearly flat-top distribution. Therefore, as shown in FIG1 , the reflection unit 120 can make the edge area where the energy superposition does not occur fold toward the optical axis to form a dark-filled area, so that the energy distribution of the light spot formed at position C is more uniform. Based on the above principle, by moving the position of the reflective unit 120, a light spot with a relatively uniform energy distribution, a flat-top distribution or a near-flat-top distribution, can be formed at any position within a certain distance in the optical path after position A. For example, a light spot with acceptable uniformity can be located at any position between positions A and C, or between positions A and D, or at any position after position D. In this way, a uniform light spot can be formed between specific positions in addition to the uniform light spot originally formed at a specific position, which helps to expand the application scenarios and usage range of the laser module.
[0049] Optionally, considering that the light spot position is too far away from the laser light source position, it may limit its practical application. Therefore, as shown in Figure 1, the reflection unit 120 is located after the critical position A of the geometric connection where multiple light beams do not generate energy superposition, and is also located before the critical position C of the first energy superposition and the second energy superposition of multiple light beams.
[0050] It should be understood that the dark-filled areas and light-filled areas in FIG1 do not represent the intensity of light energy distribution, but are only used to distinguish different areas to facilitate a better understanding of the concepts and solutions of the present application.
[0051] Optionally, the reflection unit 120 may fold the edge region where no energy superposition occurs only in the fast axis direction, or may simultaneously implement the folding in both the fast axis direction and the slow axis direction.
[0052] For example, as shown in Figures 2 to 4, the laser module includes a semiconductor laser stack array, a fast-axis compression unit 110, and a reflection unit 120 arranged in sequence along the optical path, wherein the semiconductor laser stack array includes a plurality of semiconductor laser bars arranged linearly, each of which can emit a light beam in the same direction. In order to perform fast-axis compression on each semiconductor laser bar, the fast-axis compression unit 110 includes a plurality of fast-axis compression mirrors 111 (five are shown in Figures 2 to 4) corresponding one-to-one to the plurality of semiconductor laser bars. In this example, the reflecting unit 120 folds only the area at the edge where no energy superposition occurs in the fast axis direction. As shown in FIG2 , the reflecting unit 120 includes a first reflecting mirror 121 and a second reflecting mirror 122 distributed on opposite sides of the multiple light beams along the fast axis direction. As shown in FIG3 and FIG4 , after the multiple light beams are emitted by the fast axis compression unit 110, the area at the edge where no energy superposition occurs is folded from the fast axis direction by the first reflecting mirror 121 and the second reflecting mirror 122, thereby forming a light spot with a relatively uniform energy distribution, a flat-top distribution or an approximately flat-top distribution, on the receiving surface 130 (e.g., a light window).
[0053] For example, as shown in FIG5 to FIG7, the laser module includes a semiconductor laser stack, a fast axis compression unit 110 and a reflection unit 120 arranged in sequence along the optical path, wherein the semiconductor laser stack and the fast axis compression unit 110 can be arranged with reference to the above example. In this example, the reflective unit 120 folds the region where no energy superposition occurs at the edge in both the fast and slow axis directions. As shown in FIG5 , the reflective unit 120 includes a first reflector 121 and a second reflector 122 distributed on opposite sides of the plurality of light beams along the fast axis direction, and a third reflector 123 and a fourth reflector 124 distributed on opposite sides of the plurality of light beams along the slow axis direction. As shown in FIG6 and FIG7 , after the plurality of light beams are emitted from the fast axis compression unit 110, the region where no energy superposition occurs at the edge is folded in the fast axis direction by the first reflector 121 and the second reflector 122, and the region where no energy superposition occurs at the edge is folded in the slow axis direction by the third reflector 123 and the fourth reflector 124, so as to ultimately form a light spot with a relatively uniform energy distribution, a flat-top distribution or a nearly flat-top distribution, on the receiving surface 130 (e.g., a light window). Of course, in some embodiments, the reflective unit further includes an integrally formed closed reflective cavity, the cross-section of which may be rectangular. The closed reflective cavity can reflect the plurality of light beams from their peripheries to form the aforementioned folding effect.
[0054] Given that the divergence angle of the light beam emitted by the laser in the fast axis direction y is generally greater than the divergence angle in the slow axis direction x, in some embodiments, the fast axis compression mirror 111 of the fast axis compression unit 110 can be a plano-convex cylindrical mirror, thereby compressing the light beam emitted by the light source in the fast axis direction y through the plano-convex cylindrical mirror, so that the divergence angle in the fast axis direction y can be reduced from the divergence angle in the slow axis direction x. For example, the divergence angle of the light beam in the fast axis direction y and the divergence angle in the slow axis direction x after passing through the fast axis compression mirror 111 in Figure 2 or Figure 5 can both be between 2° and 25°. Of course, the above-mentioned divergence angle of 2° to 25° is only an example given in this application, and the specific degree of the divergence angle can be selected by those skilled in the art as needed.
[0055] In the application of the laser module, for the convenience of user holding, etc., it is required that the length of the laser module along the optical path cannot be too short. Therefore, a positive lens 140 can be added to delay the position where the light beam generates energy superposition (to achieve an effect similar to the reshaping of the light source). That is, compared with the optical path shown in Figure 2, in the example with the positive lens 140 (new solution), positions A, B, C and D are all delayed along the optical path in sequence. For example, position B in Figure 2 becomes position A in the new solution, position C in Figure 2 becomes position B in the new solution, and so on. Specifically, as shown in Figures 8 to 10, a positive lens 140 is further provided between the fast-axis compression unit 110 and the reflection unit 120. The positive lens 140 is located before the geometric connection critical position A where multiple light beams do not generate energy superposition. Therefore, as shown in Figures 9 and 10, after the multiple light beams pass through the positive lens 140, the first reflector 121 and the second reflector 122 of the reflection unit 120 fold the edge area where no energy superposition occurs from the fast-axis direction, thereby forming a light spot with a relatively uniform energy distribution, a flat-top distribution or an approximately flat-top distribution, on the receiving surface 130 (e.g., a light window).
[0056] Compared with the examples shown in Figures 8 to 10, as shown in Figure 11, the reflection unit 120 includes a first reflection mirror 121 and a second reflection mirror 122 distributed on opposite sides of multiple light beams along the fast axis direction, and a third reflection mirror 123 and a fourth reflection mirror 124 distributed on opposite sides of multiple light beams along the slow axis direction.
[0057] Optionally, as shown in FIG8 to FIG11 , the positive lens 140 is a fast-axis cylindrical lens. Of course, in other examples, the positive lens 140 may also be a spherical lens.
[0058] When the laser light source is a semiconductor laser array, as shown in Figures 2 to 11 , or when the laser light source includes multiple semiconductor laser arrays, as shown in Figures 12 to 18 , multiple fast-axis compression units 110 corresponding one to each of the multiple semiconductor laser arrays can be matched. Each semiconductor laser array can be composed of multiple linearly arranged semiconductor laser bars, and each fast-axis compression unit 110 can be composed of multiple linearly arranged fast-axis compression mirrors 111 as described above.
[0059] Therefore, each semiconductor laser array can emit a different light beam, and the sum of the light beams emitted by all semiconductor laser arrays is the multiple light beams emitted by the laser light source. Therefore, when the laser light source includes multiple semiconductor laser arrays, as shown in Figures 12 to 18, a prism 150 is further provided between the fast-axis compression unit 110 and the reflection unit 120. The prism 150 is located before the geometric connection critical position A where the multiple light beams do not generate energy superposition. The prism 150 can be used to combine the light beams emitted by the multiple semiconductor laser arrays, so that the prism 150 can fill the gaps between adjacent semiconductor laser arrays and reduce the impact of uneven distribution of the light beams caused by the gaps. At the same time, the prism 150 can also be used to reshape the multiple light beams, thereby delaying the position where the light beams generate energy superposition, meeting the needs of handheld use, etc.
[0060] The stacked array of multiple semiconductor lasers can be a one-dimensional array. Of course, if the output power needs to be further improved, the stacked array of multiple semiconductor lasers can be a two-dimensional array. The following will be explained with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0061] Referring to Figures 12 to 14 , when multiple semiconductor laser arrays are arranged in a one-dimensional array, the multiple semiconductor laser arrays are linearly arranged along a first direction, which is either the fast axis direction y or the slow axis direction x. As shown in Figure 12 , the first direction is the fast axis direction y, and two semiconductor laser arrays are linearly arranged along the fast axis direction y. The light incident surface of the prism 150 includes two first facets 151 linearly arranged along the fast axis direction y. Each first facet 151 corresponds to a light beam emitted by a semiconductor laser array. Because an angle (greater than 0 degrees and less than 180 degrees) exists between two adjacent first facets 151, the light beams emitted by the two semiconductor laser arrays can be deflected in opposite directions in the fast axis direction y and then combined by utilizing the angle between the first facets 151 when passing through their respective first facets 151. This allows the gap between adjacent semiconductor laser arrays to be filled in the fast axis direction y. It should be understood that the first prism facets 151 may also be located on the light-emitting surface of the prism 150. In addition, when a plurality of semiconductor laser arrays are arranged in a one-dimensional array, the number of the plurality of semiconductor laser arrays arranged along the first direction may also be 3, 4, 5, etc., wherein, when the number is an even number, the number of the first prism facets 151 is also the same even number, and the angle between each first prism facet 151 and the principal optical axis of the prism 150 ranges from 0 degrees to 90 degrees (excluding the endpoint values). When the number is an odd number, the number of the first prism facets 151 is also the same odd number. The difference from an even number is that the first prism facet 151 located in the middle may be perpendicular to the principal optical axis of the prism 150 and does not deflect the incident light beam, while the other first prism facets 151 on both sides of the first prism facet 151 deflect their respective light beams toward the principal optical axis through the angles included.
[0062] As shown in FIG15 , a plurality of semiconductor laser stacks are arranged in a two-dimensional array along the fast axis direction y and the slow axis direction x, respectively. The light incident surface of the prism 150 includes a plurality of second prism faces 152 linearly arranged along the fast axis direction y, and the light exit surface of the prism 150 includes a plurality of third prism faces 153 linearly arranged along the slow axis direction x (of course, the plurality of second prism faces 152 may be located on the light exit surface, and the plurality of third prism faces 153 may be located on the light incident surface; the principles are the same). Thus, after the plurality of semiconductor laser stacks arranged in the planar array emit light beams, the plurality of second prism faces 152 can be used to deflect the light beams in opposite directions in the fast axis direction y so as to perform complementary beam combining in the fast axis direction y. At the same time, the plurality of third prism faces 153 can be used to deflect the light beams in opposite directions in the slow axis direction x so as to perform complementary beam combining in the slow axis direction x. Thus, the light beams are combined in both the fast axis and slow axis directions x, thereby obtaining a uniform light spot with high uniformity.
[0063] Specifically, as shown in FIG15 , the light source includes four semiconductor laser stacks distributed in a 2×2 two-dimensional array, and correspondingly has four fast-axis compression units 110 distributed in a 2×2 two-dimensional array. In addition, the light incident surface of the prism 150 is two second prism faces 152 arranged along the fast axis direction y, and the light exit surface of the prism 150 is two third prism faces 153 arranged along the slow axis direction x. Thus, the outgoing light beams of the semiconductor laser stacks in the same column along the fast axis direction y are first combined in the fast axis direction y by the second prism faces 152, and then the outgoing light beams of the semiconductor laser stacks in the same row along the slow axis direction x are combined by the third prism faces 153, thereby obtaining a uniform light spot with good uniformity.
[0064] After the prism 150 combines the light beams emitted by the stacked array of semiconductor lasers arranged in a one-dimensional or two-dimensional array, the reflective unit 120 can fold the edge regions where no energy superposition occurs, thereby forming a light spot with a relatively uniform energy distribution, a flat-top distribution, or a light spot approximately flat-top distribution, on the receiving surface 130 (e.g., a light window). For example, as shown in Figures 12 and 13, the reflective unit 120 folds the edge regions where no energy superposition occurs only in the fast axis direction. As shown in Figure 12, the reflective unit 120 includes a first reflector 121 and a second reflector 122 distributed on opposite sides of the multiple light beams along the fast axis. In conjunction with Figure 13, the combined light beams emitted from the prism 150 are folded in the fast axis direction by the first reflector 121 and the second reflector 122 at the edge regions where no energy superposition occurs, thereby forming a light spot with a relatively uniform energy distribution, a flat-top distribution, or a light spot approximately flat-top distribution, on the receiving surface 130 (e.g., a light window). Of course, the reflecting unit 120 folds the area at the edge where no energy superposition occurs in the fast axis and slow axis directions at the same time. As shown in FIG14 , the reflecting unit 120 includes a first reflecting mirror 121 and a second reflecting mirror 122 distributed on opposite sides of the multiple light beams along the fast axis direction, and a third reflecting mirror 123 and a fourth reflecting mirror 124 distributed on opposite sides of the multiple light beams along the slow axis direction.
[0065] In addition, as shown in Figures 16 to 18, a prism 150 and a positive lens 140 can be added to the optical path at the same time, both of which are located before the geometric connection critical position A where multiple light beams do not generate energy superposition. Therefore, the multiple light beams can be reshaped through the two, thereby delaying the position where the light beams generate energy superposition to meet the needs of hand-held use.
[0066] For ease of understanding, when the positive lens 140 and / or prism 150 are not provided (original solution), as shown in FIG2 , the distance between the position of the light spot and the light-emitting side of the fast-axis compression unit 110 is a function of the focal length of the fast-axis compression unit 110, the chip divergence angle of the semiconductor laser bar, and the chip spacing between adjacent semiconductor laser bars. Specifically, referring to FIG2 :
[0067] Position A satisfies:
[0068] L 临1 =f(PD) / {2*tg(θ0 / 2)*(2f-Δ};
[0069] Position B satisfies:
