AI Technical Summary
Conventional fluororubber compositions have a short crosslinking induction time (T10), leading to molding defects due to premature crosslinking before the composition is fully filled into the mold, and stored compositions may continue crosslinking over time, causing defects in molded products.
Incorporating an organic acid with 3 to 10 carbon atoms and one or more acid groups into the fluororubber composition, which extends the crosslinking induction time, allowing for proper molding and reducing storage-induced defects while maintaining excellent properties similar to conventional compositions.
The extended crosslinking induction time ensures that fluororubber molded products are defect-free and exhibit excellent properties, such as heat resistance, oil resistance, and chemical resistance, comparable to those produced with conventional compositions.

Abstract
Description
Fluororubber composition and molded article
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a fluororubber composition and a molded article.
[0002] Patent Document 1 describes a composition for producing a cured elastomer, which comprises an elastomeric copolymer, a triorganosulfonium compound, and an aromatic polyhydroxy compound.
[0003] Special Publication No. 64-418
[0004] An object of the present disclosure is to provide a fluororubber composition which, like conventional fluororubber compositions, can be crosslinked to give a fluororubber molded article having excellent properties, and which has a long crosslinking induction time (T10) upon crosslinking.
[0005] According to the present disclosure, there is provided a fluororubber composition comprising a fluororubber (a), a crosslinking agent (b), and an organic acid (c), wherein the organic acid (c) is at least one selected from the group consisting of organic acids having 3 to 10 carbon atoms and having one acid group in the molecule, and organic acids having 2 to 10 carbon atoms and having two or more acid groups in the molecule.
[0006] According to the present disclosure, a fluororubber composition can be provided which can obtain a fluororubber molded article having excellent properties by crosslinking, similar to conventional fluororubber compositions, and which has a long crosslinking induction time (T10) upon crosslinking.
[0007] Specific embodiments of the present disclosure will be described in detail below, but the present disclosure is not limited to the following embodiments.
[0008] <Fluororubber Composition> The fluororubber composition of the present disclosure contains a fluororubber (a), a crosslinking agent (b), and an organic acid (c).
[0009] Conventionally, as a fluororubber composition that can be crosslinked to give a fluororubber molded article, there has been known a fluororubber composition containing an elastomeric copolymer and a bisphenol compound, hexafluoroisopropylidene-bis(4-hydroxybenzene), known as bisphenol AF, as described in Patent Document 1.
[0010] Such conventional fluororubber compositions have a relatively short crosslinking induction time (T10), and the crosslinking reaction may proceed before the fluororubber composition is sufficiently filled into a mold for molding, resulting in molding defects. Furthermore, when such conventional fluororubber compositions are stored for a long period of time, the crosslinking reaction may proceed gradually. Therefore, when a fluororubber composition that has been stored for a long period of time is molded and crosslinked to produce a fluororubber molded product, molding defects may occur.
[0011] Since the fluororubber composition of the present disclosure contains an organic acid (c), the crosslinking induction time (T10) during crosslinking is longer than that of a conventional fluororubber composition containing the same components except for not containing the organic acid (c). Therefore, when the fluororubber composition of the present disclosure is filled into a mold for molding, the time required for the fluororubber composition to sufficiently fill the mold can be ensured, making molding defects less likely to occur. Furthermore, even when the fluororubber composition of the present disclosure is stored for a long period of time, the crosslinking reaction does not progress easily, so even when a fluororubber molded article is produced by molding and crosslinking a fluororubber composition that has been stored for a long period of time, molding defects are less likely to occur. Moreover, the resulting fluororubber molded article exhibits excellent properties, similar to those of fluororubber molded articles obtained from conventional fluororubber compositions.
[0012] Each component of the fluororubber composition of the present disclosure will be described below.
[0013] (a) Fluororubber The fluororubber composition of the present disclosure contains a fluororubber. In the present disclosure, the fluororubber is an amorphous fluoropolymer. "Amorphous" means that the magnitude of the melting peak (ΔH) appearing in differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) (heating rate 20°C / min) or differential thermal analysis (DTA) (heating rate 20°C / min) of the fluoropolymer is 4.5 J / g or less. Fluororubber exhibits elastomeric properties by crosslinking. Elastomeric properties refer to the ability of a polymer to be stretched and to retain its original length when the force required to stretch the polymer is no longer applied.
[0014] Generally, rubber and elastomers refer to substances whose "glass transition temperature (Tg)" in DSC measurement is below room temperature and which are usually in an amorphous state at room temperature. Conversely, substances whose Tg is above room temperature are in a frozen state at room temperature, and substances with such properties are called resins.
[0015] The fluororubber is preferably a fluororubber containing vinylidene fluoride units, which can be crosslinked with a polyol. The fluororubber containing vinylidene fluoride units may be, for example, a vinylidene fluoride (VdF)-based fluoroelastomer substantially free of polar end groups, as described in JP 2003-277563 A; a vinylidene fluoride-based fluoroelastomer containing repeating units derived from vinylidene fluoride (VdF) and repeating units derived from at least one additional (per)fluorinated monomer, as described in JP 2018-527449 A; or a cured fluoroelastomer having a small amount of fluorine of less than 67% by weight, as described in JP 7-316377 A, which contains 40 to 68% by weight of vinylidene fluoride (VdF) units and 20 to 50% by weight of hexafluoropropylene (HFP) units so that the total amount is 100, and optionally contains one or more comonomers having ethylene unsaturation.
[0016] Examples of fluororubbers containing vinylidene fluoride units (VdF-based fluororubbers) include tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) / propylene / VdF-based fluororubbers, ethylene / hexafluoropropylene (HFP) / VdF-based fluororubbers, VdF / HFP-based fluororubbers, VdF / TFE / HFP-based fluororubbers, etc. These fluororubbers can be used alone or in any combination within the scope that does not impair the effects of the present disclosure.

These may be used alone or in any combination. Furthermore, bisolefin compounds such as those described in JP-A-8-12726 may be used.

[0025] The fluororubber preferably has a Mooney viscosity at 121°C (ML1+10(121°C)) of 1 or more, more preferably 3 or more, even more preferably 5 or more, and particularly preferably 10 or more. The Mooney viscosity is preferably 200 or less, more preferably 170 or less, even more preferably 150 or less, even more preferably 130 or less, and particularly preferably 100 or less. The Mooney viscosity is measured in accordance with ASTM D1646-15 and JIS K6300-1:2013.
[0026] The fluorine content of the fluororubber is preferably 50 to 75% by mass, more preferably 60 to 73% by mass, and even more preferably 63 to 72% by mass. The fluorine content can be calculated from the composition ratio of the monomer units constituting the fluororubber.
[0027] The fluororubber preferably has a glass transition temperature of −50 to 0° C. The glass transition temperature can be determined by obtaining a DSC curve using a differential scanning calorimeter by heating 10 mg of a sample at a rate of 20° C. / min, and determining the glass transition temperature as the temperature at the intersection between an extension of the baseline before and after the second-order transition of the DSC curve and a tangent to the inflection point of the DSC curve.
[0028] The fluororubber described above can be produced by a conventional method.
[0029] (b) Crosslinking Agent The fluororubber composition of the present disclosure contains a crosslinking agent. The crosslinking agent is preferably a polyol crosslinking agent.
[0030] A compound having at least one hydroxy group can be used as the crosslinking agent. The number of hydroxy groups possessed by the crosslinking agent is at least one, preferably two or more, preferably four or less, more preferably three or less, and even more preferably two or less. In one embodiment, the crosslinking agent has two hydroxy groups in the molecule, each directly bonded to an aromatic ring and a carbon atom constituting the aromatic ring. The hydroxy group possessed by the crosslinking agent may form an ester with a carboxylic acid. That is, the crosslinking agent may have an alkylcarbonyloxy group instead of a hydroxy group. In one embodiment, the crosslinking agent has two hydroxy groups, or one hydroxy group and one alkylcarbonyloxy group, or a group having one hydroxy group and one carbon-carbon double bond (excluding those constituting the aromatic ring), or a group having one alkylcarbonyloxy group and one carbon-carbon double bond (excluding those constituting the aromatic ring). These groups are usually directly bonded to a carbon atom constituting the aromatic ring.
[0031] The aromatic ring may be either a monocyclic or polycyclic ring. The aromatic ring may be a so-called heterocyclic ring composed of not only carbon atoms but also carbon atoms and heteroatoms such as oxygen atoms, sulfur atoms, and nitrogen atoms. In the aromatic ring, the carbon atom of the carbonyl group may constitute a ring structure.
[0032] Examples of the monocyclic aromatic ring include a monocyclic 5- to 7-membered aromatic ring, and specifically, a benzene ring and a monocyclic 5- to 7-membered aromatic heterocycle (including a 7-membered ring having a tropone structure) are preferred, a benzene ring, a furan ring, and a thiophene ring are more preferred, and a benzene ring is even more preferred.
[0033] The number of aromatic rings in the polycyclic aromatic ring is 2 or more, preferably 2 to 8, more preferably 2 to 4, even more preferably 2 or 3, and particularly preferably 2.
[0034] The polycyclic aromatic ring is preferably a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon ring.
[0035] The number of carbon atoms in the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon ring is preferably 3 to 30, more preferably 5 or more, even more preferably 6 or more, and more preferably 20 or less, even more preferably 14 or less.
[0036] The polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon ring preferably has 2 to 4 rings, more preferably 2 or 3 rings, and even more preferably 2 rings.
[0037] Examples of the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon ring include: a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon ring in which two rings are linked via a bond, such as a biphenyl ring, a diphenylmethane ring, a diphenyl ether ring, a diphenyl sulfone ring, a diphenyl ketone ring, or a diphenyl sulfide ring; and a fused polycyclic hydrocarbon ring such as a naphthalene ring, a phenanthrene ring, an anthrahexanediolcene ring, a fluorene ring, a tetracene ring, a chrysene ring, a pyrene ring, a pentacene ring, a benzopyrene ring, a triphenylene ring, or an azulene ring.
[0038] Of these, the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon ring is preferably a diphenyl ether ring, a diphenyl sulfide ring, a naphthalene ring or a biphenyl ring, and more preferably a naphthalene ring.
[0039] Examples of the crosslinking agent include those described in WO 2022 / 59575, WO 2022 / 20018, WO 2022 / 210040, WO 2022 / 210041, WO 2022 / 210042, WO 2022 / 210044, WO 2022 / 264838, JP 2022-190390, WO 2022 / 264837, Japanese Patent Application No. 2021-194563, WO 2023 / 063388, PCT / JP2023 / 013950, PCT / JP2023 / 013947, Japanese Patent Application No. 2022-172558, Japanese Patent Application No. 2022-172560, Japanese Patent Application No. 2023-072544, and Japanese Patent Application No. 2022-172559. [0043] General formula (b2): (In the formula, a hydrogen atom bonded to the benzene ring (naphthalene ring) may be substituted with a hydrocarbon group, a halogen atom, an alkoxy group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, or an acyl group.)
[0044] General formula (b3): (In the formula, the hydrogen atom bonded to the benzene ring may be substituted with a hydrocarbon group, a halogen atom, an alkoxy group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, or an acyl group.)
[0045] General formula (b4): (In the formula, the hydrogen atom bonded to the benzene ring may be substituted with a hydrocarbon group, a halogen atom, an alkoxy group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, or an acyl group.)
[0046] General formula (b5): (In the formula, the hydrogen atom bonded to the benzene ring may be substituted with a hydrocarbon group, a halogen atom, an alkoxy group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, or an acyl group.)
[0047] General formula (b6): (In the formula, the hydrogen atom bonded to the benzene ring may be substituted with a hydrocarbon group, a halogen atom, an alkoxy group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, or an acyl group.)
[0048] The hydrocarbon group is preferably an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, more preferably a methyl group or an ethyl group. The halogen atom is preferably a fluorine atom, a chlorine atom, or a bromine atom. The alkoxy group is preferably an alkoxy group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, more preferably a methoxy group. The alkoxycarbonyl group is preferably an alkoxycarbonyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, more preferably a methoxycarbonyl group. The acyl group is preferably an acyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, more preferably an acetyl group.
[0049] In general formula (b1), x represents the number of sulfur atoms connected. For example, when x is 2, the crosslinking agent has a disulfide bond (-S-S-) as a linking group connecting the carbon atom constituting the first benzene ring and the carbon atom constituting the second benzene ring. x is an integer of 1 or more, preferably an integer of 1 to 10, more preferably an integer of 1 to 3, and even more preferably 1 or 2.
[0050] In one embodiment, the cross-linking agent is at least one selected from the group consisting of methyl 3,5-dihydroxybenzoate, 4,4'-thiodiphenol, 4,4'-dihydroxydiphenyl ether, resorcinol, and 4-chlororesorcinol.
[0051] Among these, the crosslinking agent is more preferably at least one selected from the group consisting of 1,6-dihydroxynaphthalene, 2,7-dihydroxynaphthalene, methyl 3,5-dihydroxybenzoate, 3',5'-dihydroxyacetophenone, 4,4'-thiodiphenol, 4,4'-dihydroxydiphenyl ether, resorcinol, and 4-chlororesorcinol, and even more preferably methyl 3,5-dihydroxybenzoate.
[0052] As the crosslinking agent, 4,4'-thiodiphenol, 4,4'-dithiodiphenol, 4,4'-dihydroxydiphenyl ether, etc. are also preferred.
[0053] The crosslinking agent is preferably a diol in which two or more hydroxybenzene rings are bonded via at least one oxygen atom or sulfur atom.
[0054] Resorcinol is also preferred as a crosslinking agent, and resorcinol may have one or more substituents, such as hydrocarbon groups such as methyl and ethyl groups, halogen atoms such as F, Cl, and Br, alkoxy groups such as methoxy, and acyl groups such as acetyl.
[0055] The crosslinking agents listed here are crosslinking agents for polyol-based fluororubbers, and in the crosslinking mechanism of the fluororubber, crosslinking is facilitated by making the rubber basic by using a compounding agent such as calcium hydroxide.
[0056] However, since the crosslinking agents listed here are highly electron-withdrawing substances as can be seen from their chemical structures, it can be assumed that dehydrogenation reactions from two or more hydroxyl groups in the molecule occur quite quickly. Therefore, it can be assumed that the crosslinking reaction occurs faster than expected, causing problems (scorch) in the rubber crosslinking molding process.
[0057] It is possible to reduce the amount of crosslinking agent to optimize the crosslinking reaction rate, but in that case, the desired rubber strength will not be obtained and the CS value is expected to deteriorate. It is also possible to reduce the amount of crosslinking accelerator or calcium hydroxide, but in that case, the dispersion of the crosslinking agent itself will also deteriorate, which is expected to cause variations in the physical properties of the crosslinked rubber.
[0058] The content of the crosslinking agent is preferably 0.1 to 10 parts by mass, more preferably 0.5 to 6 parts by mass, still more preferably 0.7 to 5 parts by mass, and particularly preferably 0.7 to 2.5 parts by mass, relative to 100 parts by mass of the fluororubber, in order to ensure that the crosslinking reaction in the crosslinking step proceeds at an appropriate rate and that a molded product having sufficient tensile strength, elongation at break, and compression set properties at high temperatures, and appropriate hardness can be obtained.
[0059] (c) Organic Acid The fluororubber composition of the present disclosure contains at least one organic acid (c) selected from the group consisting of organic acids having 3 to 10 carbon atoms and one acid group per molecule, and organic acids having 2 to 10 carbon atoms and two or more acid groups per molecule. Because the fluororubber composition of the present disclosure contains the organic acid (c), the crosslinking induction time (T10) during crosslinking is longer than that of conventional fluororubber compositions containing the same components except for not containing the organic acid (c), and the occurrence of molding defects can be suppressed. Furthermore, by using the fluororubber composition of the present disclosure, it is possible to obtain fluororubber molded articles having excellent properties, similar to those obtained when conventional fluororubber compositions are used.
[0060] An organic acid is a compound composed of an organic group and an acid group bonded to the organic group. When the acid group contains a carbon atom, the number of carbon atoms in the organic acid is the total number of carbon atoms constituting the organic group and the acid group.
[0061] The organic acid used in the present disclosure is an organic acid having one acid group in the molecule, or an organic acid having two or more acid groups in the molecule. The number of carbon atoms in an organic acid having one acid group in the molecule is 3 to 10, preferably 9 or less, and more preferably 8 or less. The number of carbon atoms in an organic acid having two or more acid groups in the molecule is 2 to 10, preferably 9 or less, and more preferably 8 or less.
[0062] If the number of carbon atoms in the organic acid is too large, the crosslinking induction time (T10) cannot be extended, whereas if the number of carbon atoms in the organic acid is too small, not only the crosslinking induction time (T10) cannot be extended, but also the physical properties of the molded article, such as breaking strength, may be reduced.
[0063] The acid group of the organic acid is not particularly limited as long as it has a hydrogen atom that can be ionized as a proton, and examples thereof include a carboxyl group, a sulfo group, a sulfino group, a phosphate group, and a phosphonate group. The acid group of the organic acid may form a base together with a cation. The organic acid may also be a hydrate.
[0064] The number of acid groups in the organic acid having two or more acid groups in the molecule is preferably 2 to 5, and more preferably 2 to 3, since the crosslinking induction time (T10) during crosslinking can be further extended.
[0065] As the organic acid, an organic carboxylic acid is preferred because it can further lengthen the crosslinking induction time (T10) during crosslinking. Furthermore, as the organic acid, an organic acid containing no fluorine atoms is preferred because it can further lengthen the crosslinking induction time (T10) during crosslinking, and an organic carboxylic acid containing no fluorine atoms is more preferred.
[0066] The organic acid is preferably at least one selected from the group consisting of citric acid, phthalic acid, benzoic acid, adipic acid, and oxalic acid, because it can further lengthen the crosslinking induction time (T10) during crosslinking, and more preferably at least one selected from the group consisting of citric acid, phthalic acid, benzoic acid, and adipic acid.
[0067] The crosslinking induction time (T10 A ) is the crosslinking induction time (T10) of the fluororubber composition (B) containing the same components as the fluororubber composition (A) except that it does not contain an organic acid. B The fluororubber composition of the present disclosure contains a specific organic acid, and therefore has a longer crosslink induction time (T10) than a conventional fluororubber composition containing the same components except that it does not contain an organic acid, and therefore can provide a fluororubber molded article that exhibits excellent properties while suppressing molding defects.
[0068] The content of the organic acid is preferably 0.05 to 10 parts by mass, more preferably 0.07 parts by mass or more, more preferably 6.0 parts by mass or less, still more preferably 4.0 parts by mass or less, and particularly preferably 2.0 parts by mass or less, relative to 100 parts by mass of the fluororubber, because the crosslinking induction time (T10) during crosslinking can be further extended.
[0069] It is also preferable to select the content of the organic acid in the fluororubber composition in consideration of the number of acid groups that the organic acid has. In one embodiment, from the viewpoint of further extending the crosslinking induction time (T10) during crosslinking, the number of acid groups N (×10 -2 N (×10 -2 N(×10)=(amount of organic acid (parts by mass) per 100 parts by mass of rubber) / (molecular weight of organic acid)×(number of acid groups per molecule of organic acid)×100 -2 ) is the number of acid groups of the organic acid per 100 parts by mass of rubber, N (× 10 -2 (pieces).
[0070] Number of acid groups N (×10 -2 The number of acid groups N (×10 -2 The number of particles may be 0.25 or more, 1.30 or less, 1.00 or less, or 0.70 or less.
[0071] (d) Crosslinking Accelerator The fluororubber composition of the present disclosure preferably contains a crosslinking accelerator. The use of a crosslinking accelerator can accelerate the crosslinking reaction by promoting the formation of intramolecular double bonds in the dehydrofluorination reaction of the fluororubber main chain. Even when an onium salt is used as the crosslinking agent, a crosslinking accelerator can be used together with the crosslinking agent, but it is not necessarily required. The amount of crosslinking accelerator can be adjusted appropriately depending on the crosslinking conditions and the physical properties of the molded product. Increasing the amount of crosslinking accelerator speeds up the crosslinking reaction or enables crosslinking at a lower temperature, but tends to worsen the compression set properties. Conversely, reducing the amount of crosslinking accelerator slows down the crosslinking reaction, but tends to improve the compression set properties.
[0072] An onium compound is generally used as a crosslinking accelerator for a polyol crosslinking system. The onium compound is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include ammonium salts such as quaternary ammonium salts, phosphonium salts such as quaternary phosphonium salts, and sulfonium salts, with quaternary ammonium salts and quaternary phosphonium salts being preferred.
[0073] The quaternary ammonium salt is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include 8-methyl-1,8-diazabicyclo[5,4,0]-7-undecenium chloride, 8-methyl-1,8-diazabicyclo[5,4,0]-7-undecenium iodide, 8-methyl-1,8-diazabicyclo[5,4,0]-7-undecenium hydroxide, and 8-methyl-1,8-diazabicyclo[5,4,0]-7-undecenium methylsulfate. , 8-ethyl-1,8-diazabicyclo[5,4,0]-7-undecenium bromide, 8-propyl-1,8-diazabicyclo[5,4,0]-7-undecenium bromide, 8-dodecyl-1,8-diazabicyclo[5,4,0]-7-undecenium chloride, 8-dodecyl-1,8-diazabicyclo[5,4,0]-7-undecenium hydroxide, 8-eicosyl-1,8-diazabicyclo[5,4,0]-7 -undecenium chloride, 8-tetracosyl-1,8-diazabicyclo[5,4,0]-7-undecenium chloride, 8-benzyl-1,8-diazabicyclo[5,4,0]-7-undecenium chloride (hereinafter referred to as DBU-B), 8-benzyl-1,8-diazabicyclo[5,4,0]-7-undecenium hydroxide, 8-phenethyl-1,8-diazabicyclo[5,4,0]-7-undecenium chloride, 8-(3-phenylpropyl)-1,8-diazabicyclo[5,4,0]-7-undecenium chloride, benzyldimethyloctadecylammonium chloride, tetrabutylammonium bromide, tetrabutylammonium chloride, benzyltributylammonium chloride, benzyltriethylammonium chloride, tetrabutylammonium hydrogen sulfate, tetrabutylammonium hydroxide, and the like. Among these, DBU-B or benzyldimethyloctadecylammonium chloride is preferred from the viewpoint of crosslinkability and physical properties of the crosslinked product.
[0074] Furthermore, the quaternary phosphonium salt is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include tetrabutylphosphonium chloride, benzyltriphenylphosphonium chloride (hereinafter referred to as BTPPC), benzyltrimethylphosphonium chloride, benzyltributylphosphonium chloride, tributylallylphosphonium chloride, tributyl-2-methoxypropylphosphonium chloride, and benzylphenyl(dimethylamino)phosphonium chloride. Among these, benzyltriphenylphosphonium chloride (BTPPC) is preferred from the viewpoints of crosslinkability and the physical properties of the crosslinked product.
[0075] The content of the crosslinking accelerator is preferably 0.1 to 10 parts by mass, more preferably 0.1 to 3 parts by mass, still more preferably 0.2 to 1 part by mass, and particularly preferably 0.3 to 0.8 parts by mass, relative to 100 parts by mass of the fluororubber, because the crosslinking reaction proceeds at an appropriate rate and a molded product with even better compression set properties at high temperatures can be obtained.
[0076] (e) Acid Acceptor The fluororubber composition of the present disclosure may further contain an acid acceptor. By containing an acid acceptor, the crosslinking reaction of the fluororubber composition proceeds more smoothly, and the compression set properties at high temperatures are further improved.
[0077] Examples of the acid acceptor include metal oxides such as magnesium oxide, calcium oxide, bismuth oxide, and zinc oxide, metal hydroxides such as calcium hydroxide, alkali metal silicates such as hydrotalcite and sodium metasilicate described in JP-T-2011-522921A, and metal salts of weak acids described in JP-A-2003-277563A. Examples of the metal salts of weak acids include carbonates, benzoates, oxalates, and phosphites of Ca, Sr, Ba, Na, and K.
[0078] As the acid acceptor, at least one selected from the group consisting of metal oxides, metal hydroxides, alkali metal silicates, metal salts of weak acids, and hydrotalcite is preferred, as this allows for the production of molded articles with even better compression set properties at high temperatures, with sodium metasilicate hydrate, calcium hydroxide, magnesium oxide, bismuth oxide, and hydrotalcite being more preferred, and calcium hydroxide and magnesium oxide being even more preferred.Furthermore, when the resulting molded article requires good water resistance, acid resistance, or resistance to organic acid esters including biodiesel, at least one selected from the group consisting of bismuth oxide and hydrotalcite is preferred as the acid acceptor.
[0079] In the fluororubber composition, the content of the acid acceptor is preferably 0.1 to 100 parts by mass, more preferably 1 to 50 parts by mass, even more preferably 1 to 30 parts by mass, and particularly preferably 1 to 20 parts by mass, per 100 parts by mass of the fluororubber, since a molded product with even better compression set properties at high temperatures can be obtained.
[0080] (f) Other Components If necessary, the fluororubber composition may be blended with various additives that are typically blended into fluororubber compositions, such as fillers (carbon black, bituminous coal, barium sulfate, diatomaceous earth, calcined clay, talc, wollastonite, carbon nanotubes, etc.), processing aids (wax, etc.), plasticizers, colorants, stabilizers, tackifiers (coumarone resin, coumarone-indene resin, etc.), release agents, electrical conductivity imparting agents, thermal conductivity imparting agents, surface non-tackifying agents, flexibility imparting agents, heat resistance improvers, flame retardants, foaming agents, and antioxidants described in WO 2012 / 023485. One or more commonly used crosslinking agents and crosslinking accelerators different from the above may also be blended.
[0081] As carbon black, thermal carbon black and furnace carbon black are preferred, with MT carbon black, FT carbon black, and SRF carbon black being more preferred. When carbon black with a relatively large particle size, such as MT carbon black or FT carbon black, is blended, molded articles with excellent compression set properties can be obtained, while when carbon black with a fine particle size is blended, molded articles with excellent strength and elongation can be obtained. By blending different grades in combination, the above properties can be balanced.
[0082] As fillers other than carbon black, barium sulfate and wollastonite are preferred.
[0083] The processing aid is not particularly limited, but examples thereof include aliphatic amines such as stearylamine, fatty acid esters such as stearic acid esters and sebacate esters, fatty acid amides such as stearic acid amide, long-chain alkyl alcohols, natural waxes, polyethylene waxes, phosphate esters such as tricresyl phosphate, and silicone-based processing aids. If necessary, blending two or more types in appropriate amounts can improve the balance between mold releasability during molding and the physical properties of the molded product.
[0084] The content of the filler such as carbon black is not particularly limited, but is preferably 0 to 300 parts by mass, more preferably 1 to 150 parts by mass, even more preferably 2 to 100 parts by mass, and particularly preferably 2 to 75 parts by mass, relative to 100 parts by mass of the fluororubber.
[0085] The content of processing aids such as wax is preferably 0 to 10 parts by mass, more preferably 0 to 5 parts by mass, and particularly preferably 0 to 2 parts by mass, relative to 100 parts by mass of the fluororubber. When processing aids, plasticizers, or release agents are used, the mechanical properties and sealing properties of the resulting molded article tend to decrease, so it is necessary to adjust the content of these agents within a range that allows the desired properties of the resulting molded article.
[0086] The fluororubber composition may contain a dialkyl sulfone compound. The inclusion of a dialkyl sulfone compound increases the crosslinking efficiency of the fluororubber composition, accelerates the crosslinking rate, further improves compression set properties, and improves the fluidity of the rubber material. Examples of dialkyl sulfone compounds include dimethyl sulfone, diethyl sulfone, dibutyl sulfone, methyl ethyl sulfone, diphenyl sulfone, and sulfolane. Among these, sulfolane is preferred from the viewpoints of crosslinking efficiency and compression set properties, as well as its suitable boiling point. The content of the dialkyl sulfone compound is preferably 0 to 10 parts by mass, more preferably 0 to 5 parts by mass, and particularly preferably 0 to 3 parts by mass, per 100 parts by mass of the fluororubber. When the fluororubber composition of the present disclosure contains a dialkyl sulfone compound, the lower limit of the content of the dialkyl sulfone compound may be, for example, 0.1 parts by mass or more per 100 parts by mass of the fluororubber.
[0087] The dialkyl sulfone compound and the processing aid may be blended together, as this provides a good balance of crosslinking rate, flowability of the rubber material during molding, mold releasability during molding, and mechanical properties of the molded product.
[0088] The fluororubber composition can be obtained by kneading the fluororubber (a), the crosslinking agent (b), the organic acid (c), the crosslinking accelerator (d), the acid acceptor (e), and other components (f) using a commonly used rubber kneading device, such as a roll, a kneader, a Banbury mixer, an internal mixer, or a twin-screw extruder.
[0089] In order to uniformly disperse each component in the rubber, a method may be used in which the fluororubber (a), crosslinking agent (b), organic acid (c), and crosslinking accelerator (d) are kneaded while melting them at a high temperature of 100 to 200°C using a closed kneading device such as a kneader, and then the acid acceptor (d), other components (e), etc. are kneaded at a relatively low temperature below this temperature.
[0090] Furthermore, the dispersibility can be further improved by mixing the fluororubber (a), the crosslinking agent (b), the organic acid (c), the crosslinking accelerator (d), the acid acceptor (e), and other components (f), and then leaving the mixture at room temperature for 12 hours or more and then kneading it again.

[0184] The fluororubber composition can be used as a sealing material, lining or sealant having a complex shape by ordinary methods by making it highly viscous and highly concentrated, can be used to form a thin film of several microns by making it low viscosity, and can be used to apply pre-coated metal, O-rings, diaphragms or reed valves by making it medium viscosity.
[0185] Furthermore, it can also be used to coat transport rolls or belts for woven fabrics or paper sheets, printing belts, chemical-resistant tubes, chemical stoppers, fuel hoses, etc.

[0190] The fluororubber composition can be applied to a substrate or the like by dispenser coating or screen printing coating.
[0191] The fluoroelastomer composition may be used as a coating composition for casting a film or for dipping a substrate such as fabric, plastic, metal, or elastomer.

Fluoroelastomer compositions are also useful for coating thin steel sheets, which can be formed or embossed before or after paint is applied. For example, multiple layers of coated steel can be assembled to create a gasket between two rigid metal components. A sealing effect is achieved by applying a fluoroelastomer composition between the layers. This process can be used to manufacture engine head gaskets and exhaust manifold gaskets, reducing bolt forces and strain on the assembled components while providing better fuel economy and lower emissions due to low cracking, deflection, and hole distortion.
[0195] The fluororubber composition can also be used as a coating agent; a substrate-integrated gasket or packing formed by dispenser molding on a substrate containing an inorganic material such as a metal or ceramic; or a multi-layer product formed by coating on a substrate containing an inorganic material such as a metal or ceramic.
