[0003] Many recurring problems in agriculture involve controlling the growth of undesirable vegetation. If it is not controlled, the undesirable vegetation can, for instance, negatively affect the growth of desirable vegetation, such as crops, lawns, pastures, gardens, and recreational areas. To help control undesirable vegetation, researchers have produced a variety of chemicals and chemical compositions effective in controlling such unwanted growth.

[0004] However, there exists an ongoing need for new herbicides and methods to control the growth of undesirable vegetation, including undesirable vegetation that has developed resistance to previous herbicides. In many locations, herbicide resistance may be an significant problem, as previously-effective herbicides become less effective in controlling the undesirable vegetation with herbicide resistance. In some experiments, to help ensure good germination and healthy plants, a fungicide treatment or other chemical or physical treatment was applied. The plants were employed for testing when they reached the second or third true leaf stage.

The herbicidal compositions also typically have herbicidal activity that is greater than the additive herbicidal activity of the combined herbicides. As can be seen from the data in Tables 2A to 20B, the herbicidal compositions are typically effective in controlling monocot (grass) weeds at low application rates.

A method of controlling undesirable vegetation comprising: applying the herbicidal composition of any one of claims 1-14 to the undesirable vegetation or an area adjacent the undesirable vegetation or applied to soil or water around the undesirable vegetation by spraying, atomizing, dusting, sprinkling, spreading, or direct application of the herbicidal composition .
