Abstract

A liquid level sensing device and method for use with a beverage server to periodically sense the level of beverage held in the server. The feeder has a body for receiving and holding a beverage and has an opening therein to receive the liquid level sensing device and the beverage therein. The liquid level sensing device includes at least one capacitive sensing probe assembly retained in a housing for separating the probe assembly from contact with the beverage. The housing containing the capacitive sensing probe assembly can be placed into the opening in the body of the supplier. The capacitive sensing probe assembly indirectly senses at least one level of beverage held in the beverage server. A separate display assembly is also provided which is selectively connectable to the capacitive sensing probe assembly. A power supply is also provided which is connected to the display assembly and the capacitive sensing probe assembly to provide electrical power to sense and display the level of the beverage in the dispenser.
