Embodiment Construction

[0010] figure 1 -5 shows a screw cap package 10 (or a contact lens package). The nut package 10 includes a bracket 12 and a nut 14 adapted to move relative to the bracket 12 . The stand 12 has a main body portion 16 and a base 18 connected to the main body portion 16 . The main body portion 16 of the bracket 12 has a series of external threads 20 adapted to mate with the nut 14, the purpose of which will be explained below.

[0011] Specific reference image 3 , the main body portion 16 of the bracket 12 includes an annular edge 22 , an opening 24 and a concave receptacle 26 , all of which are formed at one end of the bracket 12 . Container 26 is sized and shaped to accommodate contact lens 28 and conventional contact lens solution 30 (see Figure 4 and 5), such as a saline solution, are used to keep the contact lens 28 in a hydrated state. The bracket 12 has internal bores 32 formed in opposite ends 34 of the bracket 12 (see Figure 4 and 5). Alternatively, bracket 12 ...

Abstract

A contact lens package (10) includes a holder (12) having a receptacle for holding a contact lens and a (cap14) having a seal for sealing a contact lens within the receptacle. The cap (14) is attached to the holder and is movable from an end of the holder where the receptacle is formed toward an opposite end of the holder. As the cap moves toward the opposite end of the holder, the end of the holder where the receptacle is formed ruptures the seal such that the contact lens can be removed from the package.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to packaging for contact lenses, and more particularly to screw cap packaging adapted to improve removability. Background technique [0002] Typically, contact lenses are always packaged in clear plastic covers. Each clear plastic housing holds a single lens and has a concave receptacle for receiving the lens and a cap that encloses the lens in the receptacle, wherein the cap is removably attached to the receptacle. While conventional clear plastic covers provide convenience for transporting and storing contact lenses, they are never designed to facilitate removal of the contact lenses. Therefore, there is a need for a contact lens package that provides easy access to the contact lenses enclosed therein at all times. Contents of the invention [0003] The present invention overcomes the above-mentioned shortcomings and deficiencies of the prior art by providing a new and improved contact lens package. The contact lens...
