The method comprises the following steps: obtaining a to-be-displayed frame string of a target application; dividing a 3D model included in the frame string into N model types according to characteristic information of the 3D model, wherein the N is an integer greater than 1; selecting a target model type from the N model types, wherein the target model type is the model type at the later M in a sequence, which is arranged from high to low according to important level, in the N model types, and the M is the integer greater than or equal to 1; determining to-be-displayed times when each 3D model in the target model type displays the frame string, wherein the to-be-displayed times when each 3D model in the target model type displays the frame string is smaller than the times which the 3D model appears in the frame string; and according to the to-be-displayed times when each 3D model in the target model type displays the frame string, displaying the frame string. By implementing the method and the device disclosed by the embodiment of the invention, the power consumption of a 3D application can be reduced.
