Abstract

An image processing method and device for an LED display screen are disclosed. The method converts original data of an image into gray scale data, and comprises the steps of dividing a pixel unit of the image into a plurality of sub-regions; and combining the plurality of sub-regions respectively, so that the gray scale value of at least a portion of the pixel unit is increased while the overall gray scale value of the plurality of sub-regions is maintained. By combining the sub-regions of the image, the method can reduce the brightness of the LED display screen without reducing the refresh rate so as to improve the viewing comfort and improve the image display quality.
