Abstract

The invention provides a vector modulator, which comprises an input coupler which is a 90-degree coupler, is provided with two signal output ends and is arranged to generate two paths of mutually orthogonal signals; an output coupler which is a 90-degree coupler, is provided with two signal input ends and is arranged to combine the two paths of signals into one path of signal; and a modulation module which comprises two modulation couplers which are respectively arranged between one signal output end and one signal input end, and is used for adjusting the amplitude and the phase of two paths of orthogonal signals. The input coupler and the output coupler of the vector modulator both adopt 90-degree couplers; and the delay transmission line is adopted in the modulation module to compensatethe phase, so that the number of devices of the modulator is reduced, one half of couplers are saved, the problem of large occupied area of the conventional vector modulator is solved, symmetric balance modulation is realized, and an effect similar to double balance is achieved.
