Description

[0001] The invention relates to a motor vehicle having a motor vehicle body which has at least one entry opening for entering a passenger compartment, a vehicle door which is pivotally mounted on the motor vehicle body and is adjustable between an open position and a closed position, and an impact safety device which is designed to transmit a load acting on the vehicle door to the motor vehicle body.

[0002] Such an impact safety device is generally known from the prior art. A side impact on the vehicle door is detected by a sensor device, and based on this, at least one anchoring element, such as a bolt, displaceably mounted on the vehicle door is actively adjusted in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle by an adjustment unit. Alternatively, a deformation of the vehicle door can also directly trigger a displacement of an adjustably mounted anchoring element. DE 10 2005 011 162 A1, for example, discloses an impact safety device. In the extended position of the anchoring element, it engages in a recess in a motor vehicle body, thereby positively connecting the vehicle door to the motor vehicle body in the transverse direction of the vehicle and reducing the risk of the vehicle door being forced into the passenger compartment.Such impact safety devices usually have a large number of components and are relatively complex.

[0003] The object of the invention is therefore to provide a motor vehicle with an impact safety device which is simple in design and yet offers reliable protection for a vehicle occupant in the event of an accident.

[0004] According to the invention, the impact safety device has a T-shaped or mushroom-shaped bolt with a head and a shaft, which cooperates with a keyhole-shaped recess, which has a first, circular recess region and a second recess region extending radially from the circular recess region, in such a way that the T-shaped bolt engages in the keyhole-shaped recess when displaced relative to the keyhole-shaped recess, thereby forming a positive connection between the vehicle door and the motor vehicle body.

[0005] The T-shaped bolt is fixedly mounted on the vehicle door, and the keyhole-shaped recess is formed on the vehicle body. Alternatively, the T-shaped bolt is fixedly mounted on the vehicle body, and the keyhole-shaped recess is formed on the vehicle door.

[0006] In the event of a side impact and the resulting displacement of the vehicle door relative to the vehicle body, the T-shaped bolt also shifts relative to the keyhole-shaped recess in such a way that the T-shaped bolt's head engages the recess via the first, circular recess area, which has a larger diameter than the bolt head. Due to the fact that the displacement of the vehicle door in a side impact usually does not occur exclusively in a single direction, but in at least two of the three directions, the bolt head shifts in the direction of the recess on the one hand and transversely to it on the other. In this way, the head engages in the recess and then shifts further into the second recess area, wherein the bolt head has a greater radial extension than the second recess area. This results in a positive connection in the direction of penetration of the bolt, i.e.in the longitudinal direction of the bolt, between the vehicle door and the vehicle body, thereby anchoring the vehicle door to the vehicle body in the event of a side impact and limiting the displacement of the vehicle door into the passenger compartment.

[0007] To anchor the vehicle door to the vehicle body, only a T-shaped bolt and a keyhole-shaped recess are required, whereby the anchoring is caused exclusively by the displacement of the vehicle door and an additional release device is not required.

[0008] In this way, the impact safety device can be implemented simply and cost-effectively.

[0009] The motor vehicle body preferably has an outer body element and an inner body element, wherein the keyhole-shaped recess is formed on the inner body element and the inner body element and the keyhole-shaped recess are covered by the outer body element, wherein the outer body element is designed such that when the T-shaped bolt is displaced in the direction of the keyhole-shaped recess, the T-shaped bolt pierces the outer body element. As a result, the keyhole-shaped recess is not visible from the outside in the normal state and when the vehicle door is open. Covering the keyhole-shaped recess also prevents dirt from penetrating the motor vehicle body. The outer body element has a recess and / or a weakening in the form of a predetermined breaking point in the region of the keyhole-shaped recess. The recess allows for centering of the bolt, ensuring reliable penetration of the bolt into the recess. The weakening ensures reliable penetration of the outer body element. Furthermore, the bolt head is preferably hemispherical. This provides centering and guidance for the bolt as it penetrates the outer body element.

[0010] In a preferred embodiment, a longitudinal axis of the T-shaped bolt is aligned in the transverse direction of the vehicle when the vehicle door is in the closed position. Alternatively, the longitudinal axis of the T-shaped bolt could also be aligned in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle when the vehicle door is in the closed position, which would be particularly useful in a so-called small-overlap frontal impact.

[0011] Preferably, the T-shaped bolt has a threaded fastening portion on a side facing away from the head, wherein the T-shaped bolt is screwed into a mating thread on the vehicle door or the vehicle body with the fastening portion. In this way, the T-shaped bolt can be easily and reliably fixed to the vehicle door or the vehicle body.

[0012] In a preferred embodiment, the counter thread is provided on a cross member of the vehicle door, which is arranged in a space between an inner panel and an outer panel. The cross member preferably has a sleeve that has the counter thread. This ensures reliable anchoring of the vehicle door to the vehicle body, with the cross member having particularly high strength and rigidity.

[0013] In a preferred embodiment, the T-shaped bolt has a radial projection that rests against an inner sheet along the bolt's length. This also supports the bolt against the inner sheet and defines the screw-in depth when screwing the fastening section into the sleeve.

[0014] An embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail with reference to the drawings. Fig. 1 shows schematically a section of a motor vehicle in perspective view, and Fig. 2 shows a section of a motor vehicle body and an impact safety device of the motor vehicle from Fig. 1 in perspective and section view.

[0015] The Fig. 1 shows a section of a motor vehicle 10. The motor vehicle 10 comprises a motor vehicle body 20, which partially forms an outer skin of the motor vehicle 10 and delimits a passenger compartment 12. In order to be able to enter the passenger compartment 12, the motor vehicle body 20 has a plurality of entry openings 26, wherein in the Fig. 1 only the driver's side is shown. The entry opening 26 is limited here, among other things, by an A-pillar 22 and a B-pillar 24. The entry opening 26 can be closed by a vehicle door 28, wherein the vehicle door 28 is Fig. 1 hinge device not shown is adjustable or pivotable between an open position and a closed position.

[0016] The Fig. 2 shows the B-pillar 24 of the motor vehicle body 20. The B-pillar 24 is composed of an outer body element 40 and an inner body element 42. The inner body element 42 is connected to a longitudinal member 27 via a fastening means 44. The outer body element 40 is arranged on a side of the inner body element 42 facing away from the passenger compartment 12 and thus covers the inner body element 42 such that the inner body element 42 is not visible when the vehicle door 28 is in the open position. The inner body element 42 has greater rigidity and strength than the outer body element 40.

[0017] In addition, the Fig.2 shows the vehicle door 28, which has an outer panel 30 forming an outer skin and an inner panel 32 facing the passenger compartment. Typically, an interior trim panel is arranged on the inner panel. The inner panel 32 and the outer panel 30 are connected to one another at the edges and delimit a space 36. A cross member 34 is arranged in the space 36. The cross member 34 is firmly connected, in particular welded, to at least the inner panel 32 and serves to stiffen and reinforce the vehicle door 28 in the event of a side impact, i.e., when a motor vehicle impacts the vehicle door 28.

[0018] In such a side impact, there is a risk that the vehicle door 28 will deform and be displaced into the passenger compartment 28 in such a way that there is an increased risk of injury to a person in the passenger compartment 12. To prevent this, the cross member 34 is provided, which fundamentally increases the rigidity of the vehicle door 28. In addition, the vehicle door 28 is anchored to the motor vehicle body 20 in the event of deformation and / or displacement of the vehicle door 28 due to a load caused by the side impact. An impact safety device 50 is provided for this purpose.

[0019] According to the invention, the impact safety device 50 comprises a T-shaped bolt 52 and a keyhole-shaped recess 60. The T-shaped bolt 52 is constructed in one piece and has a fastening section 54, a shaft 561 adjoining the fastening section 54, and a head 562 adjoining the shaft 561, wherein the head 562 has a larger diameter than the shaft 561. A radial projection 58 is provided in a transition region between the fastening section 54 and the shaft 561. The shaft 561 and the head 562 form an engagement section 56 of the bolt 52.

[0020] The fastening section 54 serves to fasten the T-shaped bolt 52 to the vehicle door 28, in particular to the cross member 34 or to the inner panel 32. For this purpose, a sleeve 55 is provided, which is fastened to the cross member 34, in particular welded to the cross member 34. The sleeve 55 has an internal thread on an inner circumferential surface. The fastening section 54 has an external thread corresponding to the internal thread of the sleeve 55, so that the bolt 52 is firmly connected to the vehicle door 28 or to the cross member 34 via a screw connection. The external thread forms a thread 57 and the internal thread forms a counter thread 59. The radial projection 58 rests on a side of the inner panel 32 facing the passenger compartment 12 and serves to limit the screw-in depth when screwing the fastening section 54 into the sleeve 55 and to axially support the bolt 52 on the vehicle door 28 or on the inner panel 32.The T-shaped bolt 52 is aligned in the transverse direction of the vehicle in the closed position of the vehicle door 28.

[0021] The keyhole-shaped recess 60 is formed on the inner body element 42 and comprises a first recess region 64 and a second recess region 66 adjoining the first recess region 64. The first recess region 64 is circular and has a larger diameter than the bolt 52. The second recess region 66 extends radially from the first recess region 64 and is designed in the shape of a bar. Because the outer body element 40 covers the inner body element 42, the keyhole-shaped recess 60, which is designed as a through-opening, is also covered by the outer body element 40 in the normal state, i.e., when there is no side impact.

[0022] In the event of a side impact, i.e. when the vehicle door 28 is subjected to external stress, in particular by another motor vehicle, the vehicle door 28 is deformed and displaced, in particular, in the transverse direction of the vehicle. As a result, the bolt 52 is also displaced in the transverse direction of the vehicle and thus in the direction of the keyhole-shaped recess 60. As the vehicle door 28 and the bolt 52 are displaced, the bolt 52 initially pierces the outer body element 40 in the region of the keyhole-shaped recess 60. The outer body element 40 has a recess 62 in the region of the recess 60, and the T-shaped bolt 52 has a hemispherical shape in order to center and guide the bolt 52 as it pierces the outer body element 40.

[0023] The displacement of the bolt 52 occurs in at least two spatial directions, in this case in the transverse direction of the vehicle and in the vertical direction of the vehicle. Due to the displacement of the bolt 52 in the transverse direction of the vehicle, the bolt 52 penetrates the recess 60. Due to the displacement in the vertical direction of the vehicle, which only begins later during the displacement process, the bolt 52 is displaced into the second recess region 66 of the recess, wherein the extent of the second recess region 66 relative to the transverse axis of the vehicle is smaller than the extent of the head 562 of the bolt 52. As a result, the bolt 52 engages behind the inner body element 42, creating a positive connection and anchoring the vehicle door 28 to the motor vehicle body 20.

[0024] As a result, the vehicle door 28 is additionally fixed to the motor vehicle body 20 in a form-fitting manner in the event of an accident-related displacement, whereby the penetration path of the vehicle door 28 into the passenger compartment 12 is reduced and the risk of injury to a person in the passenger compartment 12 is reduced.

[0025] By designing the impact safety device 50 in this way, it can be implemented in a simple and cost-effective manner. QUOTES CONTAINED IN THE DESCRIPTION
