Description

[0001] HAIR CARE SERUM COMPOSITION FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0002] The present invention relates to a hair care serum composition. The hair care serum composition comprises at least two polymers, at least one silicone, at least one amidoamine, at least one organic acid, at least one cationic surfactant, and at least one nonionic surfactant. The present invention also relates to a method for hair treatment and reconstruction and use of a hair care serum composition.

[0003] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0004] In the field of the cosmetic treatment of keratin fibers, in particular human keratin fibers, and more particularly hair, consumers desire hair care treatments that can impart moisture and reconstruct the damaged hair, which can improve the appearance of frizzy hair.

[0005] The quality and condition of the hair are generally adversely affected by several factors, like the action of external agents such as sunlight, wind, pollution, humidity, and chemicals in swimming pools, and also by mechanical or chemical treatments, such as brushing, combing, shampooing, dyeing, bleaching, permanentwaving and / or relaxing. Hair is thus damaged by these various factors and may over time become dry, coarse, or dull, especially in fragile areas, and more particularly at the ends leading to split ends. Under such circumstances, the hair can also become less manageable, more frizzy and less disciplined, and more difficult to style or shape.

[0006] It is sought to treat and reconstruct keratin fibers that have been sensitized and / or damaged, in particular the treatment of keratinous hair fibers, which have an opaque, dull, brittle, lifeless, and / or weak appearance, as well as dry and split ends.

[0007] Cellulose and gums are used to achieve different goals in a formulation, which may be related to film formation, stability, textures, etc. Silicones, most of the time, are related to the appearance of cosmetics, film formation, shine, etc. In most products developed for hair care, it is common to find a type of cellulose, which can sometimes be associated with gum. When the gum is cationic, it is hardly used in rinse-off products, since after the rinse, the gum load will allow good interaction with the water and it can come out of the yam, wasting its presence in the initial formulation.

[0008] One way to reduce friction and obtain high performance in terms of fiber coverage is to invest in film-forming polymers, however, it is rarely observed in literature and products the combination of more than two polymers for this purpose. Following the consumer movement in the treatment category for more liquid and fluid texture with skincare knowledge and the ideal balance of the hair care ingredients, one objective of the present invention is to provide an alternative hair care experience with a new sensoriality to hair care routines and immediate reconstruction effects: strengthened and aligned hair, with no stiffness and full of shine.

[0009] Although care products that address these problems already exist in the market, the hair care system of the present invention makes it possible to obtain improved results in the hair, such as better manageability, discipline, detangle, softness and clean feel, repair and texture satisfaction, frizz control or less frizziness, and less hair breakage.

[0010] SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0011] The invention concerns a skincare serum texture for a hair care product with the aim to repair the hair, replenishing the hair's moisture without leaving it greasy, oily, and weighting down the hair. The product can be used as a rinse-off or a leavein.

[0012] The hair care serum composition of the present invention contains a combination of polymers and caring ingredients, which formulation may be related to film formation, stability, textures, etc.

[0013] It was surprisingly found that the use of two celluloses with different molecular weights can associate and form intertwined structures. Added to a cationic gum and a mix of two types of silicones, the deposition of this entire silicone polymer complex becomes fast, resistant, and individually uniform on the fiber. The presence of a positively charged silicone at acidic pH potentiates the deposition initiated by the cationic guar gum, as both amodimethicone and gum silicone will have a high affinity for the damaged thread, as the thread is predominantly negatively charged. The high molecular weight of the other silicone, dimethicone, also potentiates deposition by intertwining with other polymer chains. Therefore, the considerable increase in the weight of the structure also brings a high slip (less friction), neutralization of loads, greater coverage area, and resistance to rinse-off.

[0014] Instrumental tests show that the invention considerably increases the flexibility of the damaged wire, which can be translated into greater resistance. Expert and laboratory tests show that the formulation has an immediate effect on the transformation and coverage of the wires, generating wet and dry results of a high alignment of the fiber. From this, it is possible to suggest that there is an increase in the weight of the threads due to the deposition of the silicon polymer complex and ease of drying since the thread becomes more hydrophobic. The excellent results in rinse-off and leave-in show that the formulation is versatile and unique.

[0015] Generally, rinse-off products are different from leave-in, but the present invention has proven that a single formulation can have excellent results in these very different scenarios.

[0016] Other subjects and characteristics, aspects, and advantages of the present invention will emerge even more clearly on reading the detailed description and the examples that follow.

[0113] Qualitative test

[0114] Two prototype products were tested in two stages. At the first moment, the users applied the inventive composition of Ex. 1 after shampooing and wait for 5 minutes of action, to then rinse off the product and optionally use a conditioner or mask. This routine was based on one of the liquid keratin routines. In the second moment, the users were free to choose their routine.

[0115] During application, the inventive composition presented fast absorption and easy application linked to the fluid and light texture, and further easy to untangle. Also, the inventive composition confers to the hair fast results with a soft touch, shine and movement, less frizz, and volume with treated ends. As a result, the users mentioned that the inventive composition can be a stand-alone treatment.

[0116] Flexibility test

[0117] Two instrumental flexibility tests were conducted in straightened and dirty hair swatch and bleached hair swatch compared to natural hair swatch as references. The objective of these tests was to evaluate the impact of hair serum composition of present invention on the hair flexibility, after rinse-off treatments. The results can be evaluated in Figure 1 and Figure 2, in which a high maximum force (N) indicated that the hair was stiff and rigid, and a lower maximum force indicated that the hair was softer and more flexible.

[0118] The straightened and dirty hair presented lower flexibility when compared to the natural hair reference. After the application of the composition of Ex. 1 on straightened and dirty hair, the hair presented flexibility similar to natural hair. The bleached hair also presented lower flexibility when compared to the natural hair reference. After the application of the composition of Ex. 1 on bleached hair, the hair presented flexibility similar to natural hair.

[0119] The inventive composition of Ex. 1 restored the hair flexibility of the straightened and dirty hair and the bleached hair by 28% and 27%, respectively.

[0120] Comparative tests

[0121] The performance of hair care composition according to Ex. 1 and the composition according to the Ex. 9 (state-of-the-art) was compared in a qualitative test conducted with consumers with damaged hair, users of reconstruction treatments, and hair shape I to IV. For the first two usages, the consumers applied the compositions to wet hair after washing it with shampoo and leaving it for 5 minutes, then they rinsed the hair.

[0122] The composition of the present invention gave more body and texture to the hair, the feeling of silk, smooth texture, and shine, hair feel moisturized and repaired, strengthener hair, easy to spread / to dose, pleasant texture, and no stiffness feeling during the application, when compared to the state of art composition.
