Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The invention relates to a supporting device or bracket of the angle type suitable for anchoring a piece of furniture to a wall, in particular suitable for anchoring a piece of furniture to a wall cabinet. Background Art
[0002] Typically, furniture pieces are made from a parallelepiped body formed, as is known, by vertical and parallel pairs of sides, a top, a base and a back.
[0003] Wall cabinets, i.e. pieces of furniture not supported to the ground, are very highly valued in the furniture industry and can be fixed to the wall using suitable supporting devices, usually called "brackets". Suitable fixing devices are usually used to restrain such wall cabinets to the sides of the furniture piece and the wall cabinet is provided with hooking devices that cooperate with panels or parts arranged on the wall.
[0004] Typically, the hooking means of the support device are adjustable both vertically and horizontally by means of special adjustment screws accessible through specific openings formed in the back, thus being able to correct the position of the piece of furniture after it has been fixed to the wall. Document WO 2008129381 shows some examples of such support devices.
[0005] Fixing a wall cabinet to a wall obviously places high demands on the load resistance required of the supporting device, since in addition to the weight of the supporting device itself, the weight of the fully loaded piece of furniture must also be taken into account. This is particularly true if the piece of furniture to be fixed to the wall is relatively deep, such as a pedestal for a kitchen or bathroom, for example, and is provided with drawers.
[0006] In this case, considerable moments are in fact generated on the supporting device and therefore also on the side of the furniture element, with the risk of undesired breakage, possibly causing the cabinet to accidentally fall off the wall.
[0007] In order to eliminate or at least limit this risk, angle support devices are known, i.e. support devices provided with restraining plates extending parallel to the sides of the furniture piece and which can be fixed to the inner surface of the furniture piece, thereby giving the furniture piece greater resistance to bending and also serving as structural reinforcement means for the furniture piece.
[0008] Document EP 3289924 relates to an angle support device for a wall cabinet, comprising: a first plate provided with an opening, into which a hook plate is inserted; and a second plate for mounting to the side of a piece of furniture, in which the first plate and the second plate are a single-piece body made of a polymer material, and the hook plate is made of metal, the edge of which is embedded in the polymer material of the first plate.
[0009] A disadvantage found in angle support devices of the above-mentioned type is that these are usually made from a single piece and are complex and expensive to produce. Summary of the invention
[0010] The main task of the present invention is to overcome the drawbacks of the devices of the prior art by obtaining an angle support device for wall cabinets which is easy and cost-effective to produce and which is at the same time robust and functional.
[0011] Within the scope of the above-mentioned task, an object of the present invention is to provide an angle support device for a wall cabinet which is easy to assemble and install.
[0012] Another object of the invention is to provide an angle support device for a wall cabinet which is compact, ie has restricted overall dimensions, while at the same time it is particularly stable and safe, even suitable for withstanding very high loads.
[0013] Finally, another object of the present invention is to provide an angle support device for wall cabinets, the production cost of which is competitive, making its use advantageous from an economic point of view, and which can be obtained using commonly known systems, machines and equipment.
[0014] The above tasks and objectives as well as other tasks and objectives that will become apparent below are achieved by means of an angle support device for a wall cabinet according to an embodiment of the present invention. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0030] With reference to the accompanying drawings, in particular with reference to Figures 1A to 1D , shows an angle support device 1 according to the invention, which is suitable for hanging various types of furniture fittings to a wall, and in particular hanging a wall cabinet to a wall.
[0031] Specifically, the angle support device 1 is suitable for being constrained to the inner surface of the side of the furniture piece at the rear edge portion of the furniture piece, and the angle support device is provided with a hooking device, which will face the wall when the angle support device is installed to the furniture piece, and is suitable for cooperating with a specific engaging element fixed to the wall at the height at which the furniture piece is to be installed, thereby maintaining the suspended state of the furniture piece.
[0032] The following description relates to the angle support device 1 when in use: Therefore, in this description and the claims, the terms "vertical", "horizontal", "high" and "low" and other directional terms are to be understood as relating to the position of the furniture piece when mounted on a wall.
[0033] The angle support device 1 comprises: a mounting body 2 for attaching to a piece of furniture, which mounting body can be constrained to the inner surface of the side of the furniture piece at the rear edge portion of the furniture piece; and a support hooking device 3, which is suitable for cooperating with a joining element (not shown) such as, for example, a bracket or a rod of appropriate shape, which is fixed to the wall at the height at which the furniture piece is to be installed.
[0034] Advantageously, the mounting body 2 is an angular support body comprising: a support plate 10 suitable for supporting the hooking device 3; and a mounting plate 20 suitable for constraining the mounting body 2 to a piece of furniture, preferably, both the support plate and the mounting plate are made of metal.
[0035] According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, the support plate 10 and the mounting plate 20 are made of different and independent parts which can be connected during assembly so as to be placed along mutually orthogonal planes, thereby defining - between the support plate and the mounting plate - a corner 4 (at Figure 1B and Figure 1C ), so that the mounting body 2 is generally in the shape of a dihedron during use.
[0036] In particular, as explained in more detail below, Figures 1A to 3BIn the embodiment of the invention shown in , the connection between the support plate 10 and the mounting plate 20 is achieved by means of a sliding movement along the connection direction, which is advantageously guided by a guide device 40 provided on the mounting plate. In addition, advantageously, the connection position between the support plate 10 and the mounting plate 20 is maintained by a retaining device 44, which is preferably movable in a rotatable manner between a neutral position and a retaining position by means of plastic deformation.
[0037] Reference Figure 2A and Figure 2B , the various constituent elements of the supporting device 1 according to the present invention will be described below.
[0038] In particular, the angled support device 1 comprises a substantially rigid and two-dimensional support plate 10, preferably of rectangular shape, in which a through opening 11 is formed, which extends longitudinally in a region, preferably in the center relative to the extension of the support plate, thereby allowing the hooking device 3 to be accommodated.
[0039] like Figure 2A and Figure 2B As shown, the hooking device 3 can be formed by a block 30 made of metal and a hooking element 31, which usually has a round or mushroom-shaped hooking head 31A, which is suitable for engaging with a suitable seat formed in an engaging element arranged on the wall.
[0040] Advantageously, the hooking device 3 comprises means for adjusting the hooking position of the furniture piece: in particular, the hooking element 31 has a threaded shank 31B suitable for being engaged in a corresponding threaded hole formed in the block 30, so that the threaded shank passes through the threaded hole in a transverse direction and preferably in an orthogonal direction.
[0041] The end of the threaded shank 31B opposite the head 31A has a transverse seat 31C in which a specific tool such as a screwdriver can be engaged to axially rotate the shank 31B and thus adjust the protrusion of the head 31A from the block 30 and thus improve the engagement of the head with the wall engaging element in depth.
[0042] Furthermore, the hooking device 3 preferably comprises a first grub screw 32 which is screwed onto a second threaded hole formed close to the upper edge of the block 30 and which preferably extends along an axis inclined relative to the block, suitable for allowing vertical adjustment of the hooking of the furniture piece.
[0043] Finally, a second grub screw 33 is preferably screwed into a third threaded hole formed below the hooking element 31 and preferably close to the lower edge of the block 30: advantageously, the second grub screw 33 extends in a direction preferably orthogonal to the block 30 and is provided with a head 33A suitable for being engaged in a suitable seat arranged to be located in a wall engagement element having an anti-release safety function.
[0044] Similar to the hooking element 31 provided, adjustment of the first grub screw 32 and the second grub screw 33 is performed by acting a specific tool on the corresponding engagement seats 32B, 33B, and the engagement seats 32B, 33B are accessible through the opposite side of the block 30 relative to the protruding position of the corresponding head 32A, 33A.
[0045] In order to facilitate the assembly of the hooking device 3 on the support plate 10, the opening 11 has an outlet 11A located at the lower edge, which allows the block 30 to be inserted along the support plate 10. Figure 2A and Figure 2B The slidable insertion is performed in the direction indicated by the arrow A shown in FIG.
[0046] If the hooking device 3 is Figure 2A and Figure 2B In the type shown in , the support plate 10 further comprises a hook-shaped adjacent element 12 protruding relative to the surface of the support plate 10, preferably, the hook-shaped adjacent element is formed at the upper edge of the opening 11; the adjacent element 12 is suitable for cooperating with the first flat head screw 32 to allow the vertical position of the block 30 relative to the support plate 10 to be adjusted.
[0047] Advantageously, two pairs of engaging fins 14 are formed to protrude symmetrically from the support plate 10. Preferably, the engaging fins are located at or close to the apex of the support plate to facilitate the slidable connection between the support plate 10 and the mounting plate 20. Advantageously, the slidable connection is guided by a guide device 40, as explained in more detail below.
[0048] The substantially rigid, two-dimensional and preferably rectangular or square mounting plate 20 can be positioned on the inner surface of the side of the furniture piece with the outer face 20A, advantageously at the rear edge portion, and can be anchored in the furniture piece, for example, by inserting specific fixing means such as, for example, screws in a plurality of first through holes 21, advantageously formed in the furniture piece.
[0049] Alternatively, or additionally, such as Figure 5A and Figure 5BAs shown in , in order to allow the mounting plate 20 to be mounted on the inner side of the furniture piece, the furniture piece may be provided with a plurality of coupling pins 21' protruding from said outer surface 20A, and the plurality of coupling pins 21' are adapted to be inserted into a corresponding plurality of holes formed in the side of the furniture piece in an appropriate manner.
[0050] Advantageously, said mounting plate 20 is also provided with a plurality of second through holes 22, preferably slot-shaped and preferably horizontally elongated, suitable for allowing fixing of the covering element 50 after the angle support device 1 has been anchored to the piece of furniture, as explained in more detail below.
[0051] According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, said mounting plate 20 is provided with guide means 40 suitable for allowing slidable coupling with said support plate 10. Particularly preferably, said guide means 40 substantially comprise a pair of first guide fins 41, advantageously parallel, projecting perpendicularly with respect to a plane defined by the mounting plate 20 and spaced apart at corner portions of an internal face 20B of said mounting plate 20, opposite to an external face 20A in contact with a surface of a side of the furniture piece.
[0052] Advantageously, the first guide fins 41 are not directly connected to the inner face 20B of the mounting plate 20, but are continuously connected to a pair of edge portions 23 located on a plane orthogonal to the flat plane of the mounting plate 20, and the pair of edge portions extend at opposite side edges of the mounting plate to form corner recesses.
[0053] The guide device 40 further includes a pair of second guide fins 42 and a pair of third guide fins 43; in particular, Figure 2A and Figure 2B In the embodiment shown in , the second guide fin 42 and the third guide fin 43 are respectively formed to protrude vertically from the first guide fin at the side and end of the first guide fin 41, thereby forming a guide together with the corresponding first guide fin 41, which is used to slidably insert the opposite edge portions of the support plate 10 along the connection direction B orthogonal to the mounting plate 20. Advantageously, the paired engaging fins 14 are formed on the opposite edge portions of the support plate.
[0054] According to an advantageous feature of the invention, the mounting plate 20 further comprises a retaining device 44, which is formed, for example, by at least one tooth, and preferably by a pair of teeth, which protrude in a coplanar manner from the second guide fin 42 and extend beyond the extension of the corresponding first guide fin 41, and which is advantageously movable between an intermediate position and a retaining position, in which the retaining device allows the support plate 10 to be slidably coupled to the mounting plate 20, in which the retaining device securely maintains the achieved coupling position, thereby preventing the two plates 10, 20 from sliding out.
[0055] In particular, preferably, when the support plate 10 is already slidably associated with the mounting plate 20, the retaining device 44 is plastically folded by means of rotation around the axis XX, advantageously, the axis is orthogonal to the connection direction B and the axis is vertical during use, thereby completing the assembly of the mounting body 2, wherein the retaining device 44 is a retaining tooth.
[0056] like Figure 3A and Figure 3B As shown in FIG. 1 , in order to continue assembling the diagonal support device 1 , the hooking device 3 is inserted into the through opening 11 formed in the support plate 10, preferably before the hooking device 3 is fixed to the side of the furniture piece. Advantageously, the block 30 on which the hooking element 31 is screwed and the first grub screw 32 and the second grub screw 33 are adjusted can be moved along the block 30 formed by the support plate 10. Figure 3A This operation is performed by translating in the direction indicated by arrow A, so that the block is positioned in the through opening 11 , passes through the outlet 11A into the through hole and is guided by the side edge of the through opening 11 .
[0057] Then, the block 30 is arranged in the opening 11 of the support plate 10 so that the head 32A of the first grub screw 32 abuts against the inner surface of the abutment member 12 formed on the support plate 10 and the hooking head 31A of the hooking member 31 protrudes in the same direction.
[0058] Subsequently, the support plate 10 supporting the hooking device 3 is coupled to the mounting plate 20 , thereby forming the mounting body 2 in a dihedral shape.
[0059] Advantageously, by moving the support plate 10 along the Figure 3A This coupling is performed by sliding movement in the coupling direction indicated by the arrow B, which is orthogonal to the inner face 20B of the mounting plate 20 , the sliding being guided by the guide means 40 .
[0060] After the slidable connection between the support plate 10 and the mounting plate 20 is completed, this slidable connection is determined by the lateral edge of the support plate 10 abutting against the inner face 20B of the mounting plate 20 and then forming the edge 4, advantageously, as Figure 3B As indicated by the arrow C, the retaining means 44 are plastically folded by means of a rotation about an axis XX which is substantially orthogonal to the coupling direction B and - in use - vertical, thereby preventing a backward sliding movement that would lead to the two panels 10 , 20 being uncoupled.
[0061] Obviously, the hooking device 3 is a coupling device, which may also be of a different type than described above, as long as it is suitable for the purpose; for example, FIG. 4A to FIG. 4C As shown in FIG. 1 , the hooking device 3 may include a hooking arm 31 ′ provided at an upper end with a hooking element 31A′ adapted to cooperate with a wall-fixed engaging element, and the hooking arm is pivoted on the block 30 through an opposite end.
[0062] In this case, the hooking device 3 can also be provided with means 32', 33' for adjusting the position of a known and conventional type, which means 32', 33' are formed, for example, by a screw and nut mechanism, allowing the position of the hooking arm 31' to be changed in depth and in the vertical direction respectively, and thus the hooking of the furniture piece to the wall to be adjusted.
[0063] For example, advantageously, the device 32' for adjusting the depth position can be formed by a first screw, which is screwed into a seat provided in the block 30 and the head 32A' of the device 32' is engaged in a vertical slot opening provided on the hook arm 31', so that the rotation of the device 32' allows the inclination of the hook arm 31' relative to the block 30 to be changed.
[0064] Said means 33' for adjusting the vertical position may alternatively be formed by a second vertically arranged screw which is screwed into a nut screw integrally connected to the hook arm 31', so that rotation of said second screw 33' causes a vertical movement of the hook arm 31'.
[0065] The process for mounting the hooking device 3 , according to this variant embodiment, on said support plate 10 , is substantially similar to the above-described mounting process, with the difference that the support plate is devoid of said abutment element 12 , wherein the hooking device 3 is the support device.
[0066] Advantageously, when the angle support device 1 is associated with a piece of furniture, Figure 6 The covering element 50 shown in FIG. 1 is attached to the surface of the mounting body 2 facing the inner cavity of the furniture piece.
[0067] In particular, the shape of the covering element 50 generally matches the shape of the mounting body 2, and the covering element can be fixed to the mounting body by slidably inserting a plurality of connecting pins 51 into the corresponding plurality of second slot-shaped openings 22 provided on the mounting plate 20 and as described above, the plurality of connecting pins 51 being formed by protruding from the inner surface of the covering element 50.
[0068] As from 7A to 7C It can be observed that when the mounting body 2 has been assembled and anchored to the furniture piece to be suspended, the covering element 50 is actually positioned on the mounting body 2 by inserting the connecting pin 51 into the corresponding slot-shaped opening 22 formed on the mounting plate 20, and in particular, the covering element is positioned at the edge portion of the mounting body away from the supporting plate 10.
[0069] Subsequently, the position of the covering element 50 relative to the mounting body 2 can be easily adjusted by translating the coupling pin 51 to the corresponding slot-shaped opening 22; FIG. 8A to FIG. 8C As shown in , the covering element 50 advantageously reaches the final position when it abuts against the back of a piece of furniture associated with the mounting body 2 , irrespective of the thickness of the back itself and the distance between the back and the suspended wall of the piece of furniture.
[0070] Fig.9A and Fig. 9B The corresponding assembly steps for assembling an angle support device according to a first variant embodiment of the invention are shown, in which the guide means 40 and the retaining means 44 are shaped so that the coupling between the support plate 10 and the mounting plate 20 takes place by means of a slidable movement of the mounting plate along a coupling direction parallel to the plane defined by the mounting plate 20 and which - in use - is perpendicular to the wall for mounting the piece of furniture, Fig.9A Indicated by arrow B'.
[0071] Similar to the contents described in the previous embodiment, the guide device 40 generally comprises a pair of first parallel guide fins 41, which advantageously protrude perpendicularly relative to the plane defined by the mounting plate 20 and are spaced apart at the corner portion of the inner face 20B. A pair of second guide fins 42 are also arranged to protrude orthogonally from the first guide fins 41, and preferably, the pair of second guide fins 42 are arranged as the entire extension of the first guide fins.
[0072] Advantageously, the first guide fins 41 are not directly connected to the inner face 20B of the mounting plate 20, but are continuously connected to a pair of edge portions 23 located on a plane orthogonal to the flat plane of the mounting plate 20, and the pair of edge portions 23 extend at opposite side edges of the mounting plate.
[0073] However, in the first modified embodiment of the mounting plate 20 , the third guide fin 43 is formed at the end of the second guide fin 42 , and is located on a plane orthogonal to the second guide fin and parallel to the inner face 20B of the mounting plate 20 .
[0074] On the other hand, the retaining means 44 extend in a coplanar manner with the end of the first guide fin 41 and the retaining teeth are suitable for being plastically folded into a retaining position by means of a rotation C' about an axis of rotation YY substantially parallel to the coupling direction B'. Fig. 9B as shown in .
[0075] Therefore, advantageously, the connection between the support plate 10 supporting the hooking device 3 and the mounting plate 20 is performed by making the support plate 10 slidable along the connection direction B', and the connection direction B' is guided by the guide device 40, and in particular, the connection direction B' is guided by the third guide fin 43 assisted by the first guide fin 41.
[0076] Furthermore, advantageously, said support plate 10 is provided with engagement elements 15 adapted to be inserted into corresponding cavities 25 provided on said mounting plate 20 during assembly.
[0077] When the support plate 10 abuts against the second pair of guide fins 42 , the slidable coupling between the support plate 10 and the mounting plate 20 ends, so that the edge 4 is subsequently formed.
[0078] At this point, if Fig. 10A and Fig. 10B As shown in , advantageously, the retaining device 44 is plastically folded as indicated by the arrow C' by means of rotation about a rotation axis YY substantially parallel to the connection direction B', so that the retaining device 44 is arranged at the rear of the outermost pair of engaging fins 14 of the support plate 10, and the engaging element 15 is plastically folded into the cavity 25 to prevent the support plate 10 from being accidentally decoupled from the mounting plate 20 due to backward movement.
[0079] Fig.11 The steps of assembling the angle support device 1 according to a second variant embodiment of the invention are shown. Unlike the previous embodiment, in this variant embodiment the coupling between the support plate 10 and the mounting plate 20 occurs by means of at least one rotation about the vertical axis VV.
[0080] In particular, to obtain assembly of the mounting body 2, the support plate 10 is approached to the mounting plate 20 so that the pairs of engagement fins 14 provided on the side of the support plate arranged close to the mounting plate 20 are inserted into the corresponding corner recesses.
[0081] Subsequently, as indicated by the arrow D, the support plate 10 is rotated about a vertical axis VV passing substantially through the inner edge of the dihedron and the retaining device 44 is plastically folded by means of a rotation C' about an axis of rotation YY parallel to the plane defined by the mounting plate 20 and - in use - perpendicular to the wall for mounting the furniture piece.
[0082] Fig. 12A and Fig. 12B Another variant embodiment is shown in which the coupling between the support plate 10 and the mounting plate 20 occurs by means of at least one rotation about a horizontal axis OO, as indicated by the arrow D′, which is substantially defined by one of the first guide fins 41 .
[0083] To this end, advantageously, the pair of engagement fins 14 provided on the support plate 10 are formed to protrude vertically to allow the pair of engagement fins to be inserted into corresponding paired corner recesses provided on the mounting plate 20 .
[0084] Similar to the aforementioned variant embodiment, the connection between the plates 10, 20 is achieved by plastically folding the retaining means 44 by means of a rotation C' about an axis of rotation YY parallel to the plane defined by the mounting plate 20 and - in use - perpendicular to the wall on which the piece of furniture is mounted.
[0085] Therefore, the process for producing an angle support device 1 according to the invention generally comprises the following steps:
[0086] a) Associating the hooking device 3 with the support plate 10;
[0087] b) coupling the support plate 10 to the mounting plate 20 by means of the guide device 40 to obtain the mounting body 2;
[0088] c) moving the retaining device 44 from the intermediate position to the retaining position, thereby stably maintaining the assembly of the mounting body 2 .
[0089] Fig.13A plan view of the development of a mounting plate 20 according to the invention is shown. In fact, advantageously, at least said mounting plate 20 can be made from a flat metal sheet, wherein parts of the sheet are folded simultaneously or in a subsequent step along appropriately placed weakenings, so as to obtain the pairs of fins 41, 42 and 43 forming the guide means 40, and the retaining means 44.
[0090] Advantageously, said support plate 10 can also be obtained starting from a flat metal sheet, according to a similar production process.
[0091] In conclusion, it is therefore evident that the invention achieves the aims and advantages initially proposed. In fact, a corner support device for wall cabinets has been conceived which is easy and cheap to produce and at the same time very robust and practical.
[0092] This is mainly due to the fact that the mounting body 2 is made of two separate and independent elements which can subsequently be assembled by means of a simple sliding or rotating movement.
[0093] Furthermore, advantageously, the connection between the mounting plate 20 and the support plate 10 is guided by means of a guide device which is suitably shaped according to the selected connection movement and which is then stably maintained in a simple and immediate manner by means of a retaining device which can be moved from an intermediate position to a retaining position.
[0094] However, it will be obvious to a person skilled in the art that the angle support device according to the invention is compact, i.e. has restricted overall dimensions, but at the same time is particularly stable and safe, being suitable even for withstanding very high loads, a feature which makes it particularly suitable for fixing relatively deep furniture, such as pedestals for kitchens or bathrooms and equipped with drawers, to a wall.
[0095] Naturally, the invention is susceptible of numerous applications, modifications or variations without departing from the scope of protection defined by the appended claims.
[0096] In addition, the materials and equipment used to implement the present invention as well as the shapes and sizes of each component can be selected to be the most appropriate according to specific requirements.
