Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a concealed WC cistern according to the preamble of claim 1.
[0002] The invention describes a special concealed WC cistern which, by integrating a pipe aerator, significantly simplifies the installation of a WC during the redesign or renovation of sanitary rooms and reduces costs.
[0003] The drain pipe of a toilet needs special ventilation for the following reasons: When a large amount of water is suddenly introduced into a drainpipe, a vacuum is created in the pipe, reducing the flow rate. This can lead to deposits in the pipe and, in the worst case, to blockages. This also creates annoying gurgling noises.
[0004] In restrooms, several objects are usually connected to a single drainpipe. To prevent odors from the drain from entering the restrooms through the traps of different objects, such as bathtubs, showers, or hand basins, these traps must be constantly filled with water.
[0005] If a sudden, large amount of water in the drainpipes creates a vacuum during the flushing process, there's a risk that water will be sucked out of the siphons of other objects. The siphon's sealing effect is no longer effective. This can cause unpleasant odors from the sewer system to enter the restrooms.
[0006] In addition, in the case of negative pressure in the drain line, a gurgling noise is created, which is perceived as disturbing.
[0007] According to the state of the art, at least one separate vertical pipe is installed to ventilate the drainpipes, usually leading to the outside via the roof. This vent pipe must be installed in a frost-proof manner and must be accessible for cleaning or repair purposes.
[0008] When sanitary rooms are first fitted out, this ventilation pipe is conveniently located in the extension of the main downpipe, near which the toilet is usually also located.
[0009] The ventilation pipe for the toilet should ideally be less than 4 m away from the toilet.
[0010] If it is not possible to route the ventilation pipe over the roof surface or if a frost-proof design is not possible, an extra ventilation pipe is integrated into the wall inside the sanitary room.
[0011] To allow air to be drawn in from the interior of the room via this vent pipe, an inspection opening with an air supply and a cover is installed at the end of the vent pipe, which is usually located in a wall slot. To prevent unpleasant odors from the sewer system from entering the interior of the sanitary room, a state-of-the-art pipe ventilation valve is installed at the end of this specially arranged vent pipe. This pipe ventilation valve uses a type of check valve to prevent the odor from the sewer system from escaping into the room.
[0012] These state-of-the-art elements comply with the DIN DVGW regulations.
[0013] Such prior art pipe ventilation valves are described in EP 0754 895 A2 and EP 0867 569 B1.
[0014] Particularly when redesigning sanitary facilities, interior design considerations often require the new toilet to be located at a greater distance from the existing old ventilation pipes. Sometimes sanitary facilities are also to be installed in rooms where the subsequent installation of a vertical ventilation pipe extending above the roof is not possible at all.
[0015] These cases require expensive and time-consuming special construction measures for pipe ventilation. For such retrofitted pipe ventilation, state-of-the-art technology involves creating vertical slits in the wall, into which separate ventilation pipes are installed, terminating inside the room. This allows for a frost-proof design.
[0016] At the end, at a height of approximately 2 m, these ventilation pipes must be fitted with a pipe ventilation valve to prevent unpleasant odors from entering the room from the drain. Since these pipe ventilation valves can become defective, constant accessibility must be ensured.
[0017] To do this, an opening must be created in the usually tiled wall to accommodate the pipe ventilation valve. Leaving this open is perceived as disruptive by users, so this pipe ventilation valve is usually fitted with a cover and, if necessary, with separate air holes, which in turn detracts from the appearance of the tiled wall.
[0018] Installing a separate, internal ventilation pipe is a very complex, time-consuming and expensive construction project.
[0019] Another disadvantage of pipe ventilation systems integrated into the wall surface is that these pipe ventilation valves cause noise during the flushing process of the toilet.
[0020] WO 2015 / 166517 A2 discloses a concealed WC cistern, comprising a drain pipe, a connection piece on the drain pipe, and an opening for a WC push plate, wherein a tubular connecting element is arranged inside the cistern, which creates a tight connection between the connection piece on the drain pipe and a pipe ventilation valve, which is arranged in the upper region of the cistern.
[0021] DE 299 01 268 U1 shows an air extraction device for wall-mounted toilets with concealed cisterns, comprising an extraction duct, a fan with fan housing, and an exhaust duct. The extraction duct is installed in the water tank, above the flush water level, and the exhaust duct is connected to a sewer via a T-piece. This device is designed to extract odors generated during toilet use. To prevent odors from escaping from the sewer, the fan housing can be sealed off from the exhaust duct by a valve.
[0022] DE 295 13 451 U1 discloses a sanitary fixture in the form of a toilet or urinal. The fixture comprises a cistern in which one end of a ventilation pipe is located, the other end of which leads into a drain of the toilet or urinal. The ventilation pipe can be installed in a recess in the cistern side wall to save space. The cistern described and shown in this document does not have a front opening for a toilet flush plate, but rather a lateral operating lever on the side wall, which makes it unsuitable as a concealed toilet cistern.
[0023] DE 202 11 004 U1 discloses a concealed WC cistern comprising a container whose lid region has at least one water supply and one actuating device, and whose base region is provided with an outlet opening directed toward the WC sanitary body. The container has a lid region configured as a separate, replaceable component. The lid component can be provided with an installation space for a fan, by means of which odors can be removed during use of the respective WC facility.
[0024] US 2003 / 0 229 937 A1 and DE 30 45 268 T5 disclose sanitary fixtures that have an active ventilation system for removing unpleasant odors during use. This system can be arranged within or attached to the sanitary fixture. These documents also show pipe ventilation valves that are fluidically connected to a drain via a connecting element.
[0025] The invention has the task of significantly reducing the effort and production costs, particularly in new buildings or the redesign or renovation of sanitary rooms, and of significantly reducing any additional noise besides the pure toilet flushing noise.
[0026] This object is achieved by a concealed WC cistern having the features specified in claim 1. Embodiments of the concealed WC cistern are specified in the subclaims.
[0027] The solution to the task is based on Fig. 1 is explained in more detail.
[0028] Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of a concealed WC cistern according to the invention, which is specially designed for sanitary room renovation and has the advantages according to the invention.
[0029] In the concealed WC cistern according to the invention for new construction and the renovation of bathrooms and the redesign of sanitary rooms, a tubular connecting element 2 is arranged inside a cistern boundary 5, which creates a tight connection between a connection piece 3 on the drain pipe 6 and / or on an intermediate piece of the drain pipe 6 and a pipe ventilation valve 1, which is replaceable and / or repairable and which is arranged in the upper area 10 of the cistern boundary 5 in such a way that it can be reached by hand via the opening of the WC push plate 7 of the WC cistern for repair or replacement purposes.
[0030] There are a wide variety of designs for the pipe ventilation valve 1 according to the state of the art. It is essential that these pipe ventilation valves 1 are preferably installed vertically, since their function as a check valve essentially consists in the rubber valve plates allowing air entry in only one direction due to gravity and external air pressure.
[0031] In the embodiment according to the invention, only air access should be possible in the direction 9 to the drain pipe 6. The escape of unpleasant air from the sewer system via the drain pipe 6 and further transmission via the pipe ventilation valve 1 is prevented.
[0032] In a preferred embodiment, the tubular connecting element 2 consists of a hose that is flexible and, if necessary, longitudinally expandable at least in the lower region so that it can be more easily and tightly connected to the connecting piece 3 on the drain pipe 6. The at least preferred flexibility in a partial region of the tubular connecting element 2 is achieved by the fact that it is at least partially designed, for example, as a corrugated pipe. When designed as a corrugated pipe, sufficient stability is achieved to prevent the connecting element 2 from imploding when a negative pressure occurs in the drain pipe 6.
[0033] In a further embodiment, at least a part of the tubular connecting element 2 is designed as a rubber hose, which is secured against imploding either by sufficient wall thickness or by incorporating a stiffening spiral, as is known in suction hoses.
[0034] These connecting elements 2 are preferably designed to be soundproof according to the state of the art.
[0035] On the concealed WC cistern according to the invention, a connection piece 3 is arranged on the drain pipe 6 and / or an intermediate pipe element.
[0036] The tubular connecting element 2 is tightly connected to this connecting piece 3 and the pipe ventilation valve 1 is tightly connected to the other, upper end of the tubular connecting element 2.
[0037] The connecting piece 3 is arranged at an oblique angle 4 on the drain pipe 6, which usually consists of a 90° bend.
[0038] The oblique arrangement causes an increased suction effect for the air which is sucked in through the pipe ventilation valve 1 during the flushing process, i.e. while the water is suddenly emptied from the water storage tank 11 of the WC cistern.
[0039] The steeper the inlet direction, the better the suction effect and the reduced risk of deposits. A particularly preferred angle of inclination 4 is between 45° and 60° to the main flow direction of the drain pipe 6.
[0040] However, all angles 4 between 0° and 90° are conceivable and in all spatial directions.
[0041] Preferred diameters of the connection piece 3 are between 50 and 100 mm.
[0042] According to the state of the art, the pipe ventilation valve 1 is tightly connected to the tubular connecting element 2 by screwing or plugging in.
[0043] It may also be useful to permanently integrate an S-shaped element into the upper tank 12 of the concealed WC cistern, which extends from the inner part of the upper tank 12 to its outer area.
[0044] The tubular connecting element 2 is then not connected directly to the pipe ventilation valve 1, but via this S-shaped element.
[0045] Because the pipe ventilation valve 1 is arranged inside the upper container 12 and is additionally located under a layer of tiles, no disturbing inflow noises of the air are audible during the flushing process of the toilet.
[0046] The air enters the pipe ventilation valve 1 via the annular space 8 or the installation clearance, which is necessary to be able to operate the toilet flush plate 7.
[0047] To be able to replace or repair the pipe ventilation valve 1 in the event of damage, it is advisable to locate it in the upper area 10 of the concealed WC cistern. Here, it is possible to replace it manually by removing the WC flush plate 7.
