Description

[0001] The invention relates to a convertible bench seat for a recreational vehicle and to a recreational vehicle with such a bench seat.

[0002] Recreational vehicles are known in the prior art. A recreational vehicle is understood to be a vehicle or trailer which has at least one mobile element for camping or can at least temporarily have facilities for camping. A recreational vehicle is understood to be a camping vehicle. A recreational vehicle is understood to be a motorized recreational vehicle. In this case, a camping vehicle is understood to be a mobile home or a caravan, i.e. preferably those vehicles or trailers in which a user has the option of sleeping or living in this vehicle. Motorization of the vehicles is not necessary. Another name for a mobile home is, for example, a motorhome. A caravan can alternatively be referred to as a caravan or camping trailer.

[0003] In the panel van and semi-integrated segment, extendable bench seats are known in the prior art, but these do not include a longitudinal seat. Currently, this position only has a single belted seat. If two belted seats were installed there, the bench seat would extend too far into the interior, severely restricting mobility within the vehicle.

[0004] From DE 20 2006 013 033 U1 a seating group according to the preamble of claim 1 is known.

[0005] An object of the present invention is to improve the state of the art. In particular, it is an object of the invention to provide a convertible bench seat for a recreational vehicle, which, when in use, has a seating group with opposing benches and, when in travel mode, two, in particular, approved, belted seats facing the direction of travel, particularly on the left side of the vehicle. A proper solution should require as little conversion as possible, and the conversion should be as simple as possible. Furthermore, additional parts should be avoided.

[0006] This object is achieved by a convertible bench seat for a recreational vehicle having the features of independent patent claim 1. Advantageous developments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.

[0007] The following terminology is explained: The bench has an elongated bench element, which preferably has a first and a second seat element.

[0008] If a longitudinal axis of the bench element is oriented longitudinally or parallel to the direction of travel, the bench users face perpendicular to the direction of travel. This corresponds to the residential situation in the residential state. If the longitudinal axis of the bench element is oriented transversely or perpendicular to the direction of travel, the bench users face parallel to the direction of travel. This corresponds to the driving state.

[0009] According to a preferred embodiment, the convertible seat further comprises a mechanism with which the seat element can be rotated.

[0010] According to a further embodiment, the mechanism is designed and configured to rotate the bench element by +90° or -90° starting from the occupied position. The rotation occurs about a vertical, upward-facing axis of rotation. Preferably, the bench element is rotated clockwise about a vertical, upward-facing axis of rotation.

[0011] According to another embodiment, the back cushions of the bench element are not permanently connected to the bench element. Preferably, the back cushions of the bench element are connected to the bench element in a reversibly detachable manner. This has the advantage that the back cushions can be repositioned.

[0012] The convertible seat has a belt frame which is arranged behind the seat element when viewed in the direction of travel.

[0013] The bench seat is preferably located on the left side of the recreational vehicle in the direction of travel.

[0014] According to a further embodiment, the belt frame is extendable perpendicular to the direction of travel. Preferably, the belt frame is extendable perpendicular to the direction of travel, in particular to the right of the direction of travel, so that the seat element farthest from a rotation axis of the mechanism can be provided with a belt. This has the advantage that the belt frame does not protrude into the living area in the occupied position and can serve as a belt frame for the right-hand seat in the direction of travel when the vehicle is in motion.

[0015] A core idea of the invention is the combination of the extendable belt frame for the second seat with the rotating seat surface and the repositioning of the back cushions.

[0016] The advantage is that there's no intrusive seat protruding into the living area, making the seating area and table easy to use. In the driving position, two belted seats can be provided on the left side of the vehicle, which can easily be converted back into a lounge area after use.

[0017] In a further aspect, the object of the invention is achieved by a recreational vehicle with a convertible seat bench as described above.

[0018] An embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the drawings and is explained in more detail in the following description. Fig. 1 shows a convertible bench seat for a recreational vehicle according to an embodiment of the invention in a residential state. Fig. 2 shows the convertible seat of the Fig. 1 in a driving state.

[0019] Fig. 1 shows the bench seat 100 for a recreational vehicle in a residential position. The bench seat 100 comprises an elongated bench seat element for seating, which includes a first seat element 102 and a second seat element 104. A longitudinal axis of the bench seat element and also of the bench seat 100 runs parallel to the direction of travel 120.

[0020] The first seat element 102 has a first back cushion 112 and the second seat element 104 has a second back cushion 114. Viewed from the first seat element 102, on the right side there is an extendable belt frame 130, which is in the Fig. 1 is not extended because it is not used here.

[0021] Starting from Fig. 1 you reach the driving state of Fig.2, by first removing the first back cushion 112 and the second back cushion 114 from the first seat element 102 and the second seat element 104. The group consisting of the first seat element 102 and the second seat element 104 is then rotated 90° clockwise around the first seat element 102 about a vertically upwardly pointing axis of rotation, and the first back cushion 112 and the second back cushion 114 are attached to the first seat element 102 and the second seat element 104 on the other side as before. The belt frame 130 is then pulled out to the right in the direction of travel 120 so that a belt can be used on the second seat element 104. Two headrests can also be extended or pulled out upwards from the belt frame 130.

[0022] The utility model is also directed to the following embodiments: 1. Convertible bench seat (100) for a recreational vehicle, wherein the seat (100) has a seat element (102, 104); wherein the bench element (102, 104) is oriented parallel to the direction of travel (120) in a residence state and perpendicular to the direction of travel (120) in a travel state; wherein the seat element (100) has at least two, in particular approved, belted seats in the driving state; and wherein the seat (100) is reversibly convertible from the residential state to the driving state. 2. Bench (100) according to embodiment 1, further comprising: a mechanism with which the seat element (102, 104) is rotatable. 3. Bench (100) according to embodiment 2, characterized in that the mechanism is designed and arranged to rotate the bench element (102, 104) by +90° or -90° starting from the residence state. 4. Seat (100) according to one of the preceding embodiments, characterized in that Back cushions (112, 114) of the seat element (102, 104) are reversibly detachably connected to the seat element (102, 104). 5.
