Abstract
Description
[0001] Given that in many apartment buildings with 2 to 5 floors, a lift cannot be installed for a variety of reasons, the arduous task of climbing stairs for older residents (60 to 90 years of age) should be made easier by a stair climbing aid. In this case, the old stair banister (made of wood, metal or plastic, round or rectangular in diameter) is retained and serves as a base. There are several possible installation options: screwing, clamping or gluing. The attachment has a diameter of approximately 7 x 5 cm and can be made of wood or, better yet, metal. In this stair climbing aid, a rubber band moves up and down. It is driven by an electric motor, with a sensor initiating the operation (20 seconds to about 3 minutes).
[0002] A special control device must be installed to adjust the running speed, as the stair-climbing ability of elderly residents must be taken into account. Another control device must allow for the duration of the operation (20 seconds to 3 minutes).
[0003] In multi-story buildings, a separate electric motor must be installed for each staircase, i.e. for 4 floors, 8 interconnected electric motors would be necessary.
[0004] An enclosed sample piece of about 50 cm in length may make it easier to understand this device.
[0005] A particular problem arises from the fact that the stairwell user grasps the 5 cm wide elastic band with his right hand, is pulled up, and then pulls it to the left by shifting his weight. Therefore, the elastic band is two-layered: the upper part, measuring 50 x 5 mm, cannot be pulled to the left, as the connected lower half, measuring 30 x 5 mm, prevents this with its limiting strips. Problems with the electric stair climbing aid
[0006] The bonding of the two rubber bands (5 x 50 mm and 5 x 30 mm) can become poor due to the constant rotation process. It would therefore be advantageous if the rubber goods factory could produce both bands together in a single operation. It would be better if two steel bands, each 2 mm thick, could be incorporated, as the rubber band would almost certainly wear out after a few months, which would require additional work.
[0007] The rubber strip should be made with a non-slip shape similar to a bicycle tire.
[0008] The steel case (possibly made of brass) should be attractively designed, 60 x 30 mm. List of reference symbols 1 stair climbing aid 2 stairs 3 Attachment device 4 rubber strips 5 stair railings 6 50 mm x 5 mm 7 30 mm x 5 mm 8 steel cases 9 steel cable
