Abstract
Description
[0001] SPRING SQUARE REGULATORS USED IN SPRAY GUNS
[0002] Technical area
[0003] The subject matter of the invention relates to a system using a piston and return spring instead of a diaphragm in the paint regulators used in the leather dyeing industry. Briefly, the subject matter of the invention relates to regulating the amount of paint going to a paint gun depending on the amount of opening by opening the nozzle connected to the shaft connected to the piston moving upwards with air pressure and the nozzle closed by the shaft.
[0004] The invention relates to the precise regulating process that can be mentioned with structures such as springs, piston, piston rod, piston shafts, sealing elements and nozzle in a body, and while doing this, the elements in its structure should contact the paint in the least number, and while contacting, it should be in a structure that does not leave any paint residue on them. Due to this structure, there is no clogging in the system, the operating regime is sensitive, service and maintenance costs are reduced, painting process times are accelerated and painting quality is increased.
[0005] Prior art
[0006] The current techniques involve the utilization of manually adjustable mechanisms on the gun. In this method, which is also called stepped rotation system, the paint spray guns need to be regulated manually. The paint shot settings of the guns are adjusted by advancing a scale with certain intervals. It is a system controlled by opening and throttling operations. In this gradual rotation system, if a very thin paint is desired to be shot, the step is advanced by ten units (at the lowest setting). However, this method does not always give a clean dyeing result. The result of the dyeing process produces an undesirable result called moire dyeing. In this stepped system, as the number of rotation units increases, the gun spray angle narrows, and as the number of units decreases, the angle widens. This allows the current method to adjust how the paint is sprayed. This manually adjusted system has the disadvantage that the distance of the gun from the skin and similar adjustments have to be made manually. Due to the manual adjustment of these distances, a piece of leather is sent to be tested in order to see the system control and shots. This creates an unfavorable situation in terms of time and product loss. Since the paint coming to the guns is pressed with a diaphragm pump, the flow is pulsed. For this reason, there cannot be a certain stable shot in the paint thrown from the guns. In order to eliminate this situation, it becomes mandatory to place a regulator between the pump and the gun. Although the regulators used here fulfill this task, due to the length of the working time and the large number of working parts in contact with the paint, it cannot perform its task with the same precision compared to the first time it started. The diaphragm, which loses its flexibility due to chemicals, loses its sensitivity to air pressure. When the paint deposits remain between the nozzle and the ball that will cut the flow, the regulator cannot perform its duty fully. At the same time, the replacement of parts used in old type regulators and deformed due to paint deposits, service labor and production losses during this period constitute high cost items.
[0007] The round regulators used in the known state of the art have a diaphragm, which is one of the most important parts of the system. This diaphragm structure serves to take a certain amount of paint from the pump line and deliver it to the gun tip by expanding and contracting with air after the gun stage unit setting is made. In the diaphragm system, problems such as paint clogging and inability to adjust the transition line occur. The sensitivity of the diaphragm used changes over time due to changes in its structure. This situation causes the dyeing to be unstable in every product. The diaphragm of the mentioned round regulator has springs that support the reciprocating movement. The use of these springs is limited according to the frequency and duration of use. In order to maintain the springs and to remove the paint remaining in the system, the parts must be separated from each other and cleaned. In the slightest error during this part cleaning, the spring becomes unusable. Likewise, in order to reach the spring structure positioned under the diaphragm, the diaphragm must be removed from the system. During this maintenance, the diaphragm may also be damaged due to manual service. It is not possible to reinstall the damaged diaphragm in the system. Because the diaphragm and springs are the basic components of the system, their damage causes them to lose their sensitivity in the system and the paint spray guns cannot shoot evenly. The technical problems such as the existing techniques and parts causing service problems due to their structure, the inability to paint evenly and without moire, and the change of sensitivity settings depending on the frequency of use have necessitated R.&D work in this field.
[0008] The Aim of the Invention
[0009] The invention solves all the problems mentioned in the prior art. The invention in question, in its most general form, is a piston and a special spring regulator that performs the function of the diaphragm part in the paint regulators in the prior art, provides better painting stability, and transmits the paint to the gun at a certain flow rate and pressure by moving back and forth with the compressed air supplied from the system.
[0010] Thanks to its teflon structure, the invention prevents paint blockages that occur in previous techniques, reduces the service services received for paint cleaning, and prevents damage and loss of parts during these services. Due to its Teflon structure, it provides easy cleaning as it does not retain paint on it during system washing.
[0011] Another aim of the invention is to minimize the number of parts in contact with the paint, thus preventing the formation of paint deposits and their sensitivity, and thus minimizing operating costs by extending the maintenance and repair time interval.
[0012] Another purpose of the invention is to be able to perform stable, moire-free and precise dyeing and to provide an advantage in the dyeing process time, ensuring that the same quality and clean dyeing is obtained in every part.

[0042] The spring regulator system for spray guns, the exploded image of which is shown in Figure 1, has a spring (9) structure to ensure painting stability. This spring (9) is a wavy leaf spring and the spring (9) structure is non-deformable and has a structure that applies the same compressive force at every point circumferentially at every length and assumes the function of the diaphragm used in existing techniques. Due to the fact that the diaphragm sensitivity cannot be adjusted in the existing techniques and a different result is obtained in each painting, it is important for the regulators of the spray guns that the mentioned spring (9) structure is not deformed and can apply the same pressure force at every point circumferentially at every length. The o-ring (10) part, which is connected to the cover (11) part bearing under the body (1) seen in the system, provides sealing feature. The spring (9) is positioned between the interconnected cover (11) and o-ring (10) parts and the interconnected piston (7) and piston seal (8) parts. Piston shaft (6) contains the bearing and sealing elements on it. Thanks to the piston (7) to which it is connected, smooth movement is provided by the effect of air pressure. With the compressive force applied by the spring (9), the piston shaft (6) mounted on the piston (7) is moved forward to cover the hole of the nozzle (12) from the hole in the center of the teflon (4), carbon teflon gasket (3), pure teflon orign (2), which are fixed to the body (1) overlapping each other through the fixing screw (5). The fixing screw(5) is formed in a conical shape, different from the screws used in the present techniques.
[0043] The spring(9) makes compression-relaxation movement by means of the piston that receives the compressed air sent from the system through the air inlet(15) hole on the body(l) shown in Figure - 3a. The paint coming from the paint i nlet( 16) hole on the body(l) shown in Figure - 6 regulates the amount of paint going to the gun through the gap formed between the piston shaft(6) and the nozzle(12). The pressurized air entering from the air inlet (15) in the form of a hole in the body (1) moves the piston (7) and accordingly the piston shaft (6) in the direction of the spring (9). The piston shaft (6) moving in the direction of the spring (9) moves away from the nozzle (12) and allows the paint to exit from the hole in the center of the said nozzle (12). The paint exits from the regulator connected to the gun by the nozzle (12), the conical coupling union (14) and the coupling union nut (13) and reaches the gun by passing through the said nozzle (12), the conical coupling union (14) and the coupling union nut (13). The piston(7) structure ensures that the compressed air coming from the system, entering the body(l) by adjusting the pressure in the air regulator from the air inlet(15), and the paint taken from the paint i nlet( 16) in the system reaches the desired pressure thanks to the pressure-adjusted air up to the conical connection fitting(14). Piston seal(8) prevents the pressure-adjusted air from passing into the section where the spring(9) is located. Providing this pressure balance with the piston (7), piston shaft (6) and spring (9) determines the spraying capacity of the paint that will reach the gun.The paint passes through the regulator with a pressure equal to the pressure given to the air. Thus, the pressure of the paint is kept at the same value continuously .This working system provides an evenly distributed, moire-free and stable painting.
[0044] The spring (9), piston (7) and piston seal (8) are provided with teflon (4), carbonized teflon gasket (3) and pure teflon o-ring (2) that prevent contact with the paint entering the regulator. Teflon (4) carbon teflon gasket (3) and pure teflon o-ring (2) are non-stick due to their materials and prevent the blockages that occur in the ball structure where the paint passes through the paint in the prior art as the paint flows over them during system flushing.
[0045] The nozzle (12), conical connection fitting (14) and connection fitting nut (13) shown in Figure - 5 and Figure - 7 are positioned on the body (1) of the spring square regulator system. The pressurized air entering into the body (1) through the air inlet (15) hole shown in Figure - 4 pushes the piston (7), whose movement is balanced by the spring (9) counterbalancing force, and provides the movement of the piston shaft (6) moving in relation to the piston (7). Thanks to the moving piston shaft (6), the nozzle (12) opens the hole of the nozzle (12) and the paint entering through the paint inlet (16) reaches the gun which is connected to the body (1) with the nozzle (12), the conical connection rector (14) and the connection nut (13). (Figure - 2) The regulator thus fulfills the task of delivering the paint, the amount of which is adjusted by air pressure, to the gun in this way.
[0046] To briefly summarize the subject matter of the invention, the spring square regulator consists of three main parts, namely the spring compartment (17), the air compartment (18) and the paint compartment (19). Sealing is provided between the mentioned spring compartment (17), air compartment (18) and paint compartment (19). In other words, there is no passage of air from the air compartment (18) to the spring compartment (17) and paint compartment (19) and no passage of paint from the paint compartment (19) to the air compartment (18). (Figure - 3b) Thus, there is no sensitivity to sedimentation, especially on the parts working in the paint compartment (19). The sealing between the spring chamber(17) and the external environment is provided by the cover o-ring(lO). The sealing between the spring chamber (17) and the air chamber (18) is provided by the piston seal (8). Sealing between air chamber(18) and paint chamber(19) is provided by pure teflon o-ring(2), carbonized teflon gasket(3), teflon(4) and fixing screw(5).
[0047] The pressurized air entering the air chamber (18) from the air inlet (16) exerts a counter force with the spring (9) having the form of a wavy leaf spring and moves the piston (8), whose movement is balanced, in the direction of the movement of the spring (9), causing the piston shaft (6) connected to the piston (8) to move away from the nozzle (12) in the specified amount. Thus, the paint pressed by the diaphragm pump, which enters the paint chamber (19) with the paint inlet (16) through the gap formed between the piston shaft (6) and the nozzle (12), exits the nozzle (12) in a stable manner at the specified amount and pressure, and reaches the spray gun to which it is connected with the conical connection record (14) and connection record nut (13).
