AI Technical Summary
Existing grating devices fail to effectively separate desired and residual material during the grating process, leading to residual material ending up in the liquid, which is undesirable for applications like making tea.
A grating device with a grating blade and two releasably connected collection spaces, each with a permeable or perforated wall, ensures that both desired and residual material are collected separately, allowing the liquid to pass through and retain the grated material in the collection spaces.
The device effectively separates and collects both desired and residual material, preventing them from mixing with the liquid, thus enhancing the quality of the resulting tea or extraction process.

Abstract
Description
[0001] Title : Device for grating and containing desired and residual material in liquid
[0002] Short description : Device for grating material and directly collecting and bringing the grated material into contact with a liquid
[0003] DESCRIPTION
[0004] The invention relates to a device for grating material in combination with collecting and bringing the grated material into contact with a liquid, in particular an extraction liquid .
[0005] The present invention aims to provide a device that can be used, for example , to make ginger tea by grating a piece of ginger root and then collecting the grated material in a collection space comprised of a liquid-permeable or perforated wall , whereby the grated material in the permeable or perforated collection space is immersed in a quantity of hot water for a while , thus making a ginger tea .
[0006] In itsel f , grating ginger ( or any other suitable material ) , collecting it in order to produce ( extract ) a tea-l ike drink is not new or inventive . However, i f a grating blade with an attached collection space is used, the following problem arises : during grating, fibers and particles of the solid material in question ( for example ginger root ) are grated of f , whereby some of them are moved through the holes in the grating blade to the other side . Unfortunately some of the grated material does not pass through the openings of the grating blade , but remains on top o f it . I f such a device , equipped with only a grating blade and only one liquid-permeable or perforated collection space ( on the "bottom" or " exit side" of the grating blade ) were immersed into (hot ) water, the result would be that the material that was left behind during the grating process ( skin, peel , etc . , hereafter referred to as : residual material ) , which remained on top of the grating blade , ends up in the tea water, which is undesirable .
[0007] The present invention aims to provide a grating device that is designed to collect not only the "desired" grated material , but also the residual material , so that both cannot end up floating in the tea water .
[0008] To this end, the invention describes a device intended and equipped for grating material and collecting and bringing it into contact with a liquid . This device comprises of a grating blade with a first collection space that is releasably connected to one side thereof , and a second collection space that is releasably connected to the other side of the grating blade , whereby the first and / or the second collection space comprises of a permeable or perforated wall , designed to allow the liquid in question to pass through and to retain the grated material in the first or, respectively, second collection space .
[0009] Although it is possible to provide only the collection space in which the grated material is collected with permeable wall material , it is preferable that both the first and the second collection space comprise of a permeable or perforated wall , designed to allow the liquid in question to pass through and to retain the grated material in the first and respectively second collection space , which ensures that the residual material is also brought into contact with the (hot ) water, so that that residual material is also used for making the relevant tea or, more generically, for extracting material reduced by grating into a liquid .
[0010] The invention will now be discussed in more detail on the basis of the figure caption below .
[0011] Figure 1 schematically shows an exemplary implementation of a device according to the invention .
[0012] Figure 1 schematically shows an exemplary implementation of a device according to the invention, which is intended and equipped for grating material and directly collecting and bringing the grated material into contact with a liquid .
[0013] The device comprises of a grating blade ( 1 ) with sharp grating teeth ( la ) and passage openings ( lb ) , and a first collection space ( 2 ) that can be releasably connected ( for example by means of screw thread) against one side thereof , in this case the bottom side .
[0014] Grating takes place after the collecting space ( 2 ) has been placed against the grating blade ( 1 ) at the bottom, whereby the relevant material to be grated is moved back and forth at the top against the grating teeth ( la) , so that the material scrapings move through the passage openings ( lb ) into the first collecting space ( 2 ) . During grating, an amount of residual material, which is also grated from the parent material but not pressed through the passage openings (lb) , remains on top of the grating blade (1) .
[0015] In order to also contain this residual material, similar to the "desired" grated material, a second collection space (3) is provided that can be releasably connected (for example by means of screw thread) to the other side (the top in Figure 1) of the grating blade (1) , which is attached over the grating blade (1) after grating is completed .
[0016] The walls of both the first collection space (2) and the second collection space (3) are (largely or partially) made of permeable or perforated material, designed to allow the relevant liquid to pass through and to retain the grated material in the first collection space (2) and the residual material in the second collection space (3) .
[0017] The invention thus provides a grating device that is designed to collect not only the "desired" grated material, but also all residual material that accompanies it, so that both cannot end up in the tea water.
Claims
CONCLUS IONS1 .
