FIG. 7 is a flowchart showing an example of processing performed by the control unit of the ordering device.

[0008] Hereinafter, an embodiment will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. <Embodiment> Fig. 1 is a diagram showing an example of a schematic configuration of an ordering system 1 (hereinafter, may be simply referred to as "system 1") according to an embodiment. Fig. 2 is a diagram showing an example of a schematic configuration of an ordering device 10, an order management server 20, a payment server 30, a store terminal 50, and a mobile terminal 70. Fig. 3 is a diagram showing an example of a schematic configuration of the ordering device 10. Fig. 4 is a diagram showing an example of the relationship between the mode of the ordering device 10 and the code generated by the generation unit 117.

[0009] The system 1 comprises an ordering device 10 that accepts orders for the provision of products and services from customers, an order management server 20 that acquires order information accepted by the ordering device 10, and a payment server 30 that performs processing related to payments for orders accepted by the ordering device 10. The ordering device 10, the order management server 20, and the payment server 30 are connected via a network 40. The order management server 20 and the payment server 30 may be installed in the store where the ordering device 10 is installed, or may be installed outside the store.

[0010] The network 40 is not particularly limited as long as it is a communication network used for data communication between devices, and examples thereof include the Internet, a WAN (Wide Area Network), and a LAN (Local Area Network). The communication line used for data communication may be either wired or wireless, and a combination of these may be used. An example of a wireless LAN is Wi-Fi (registered trademark). Note that, in the network 40, the communication network used for data communication between the ordering device 10 and the order management server 20 may be different from the communication network used for data communication between the ordering device 10 and the payment server 30. For example, the ordering device 10 and the order management server 20 may be connected via a wireless LAN or a wired LAN, and the ordering device 10 and the payment server 30 may be connected via the Internet.

[0011] The system 1 also includes a store terminal 50 that is installed in the store and manages order information received by the ordering device 10, and a display device 60 that is installed in the store and displays orders received by the ordering device 10. The store terminal 50 and the order management server 20 are connected via a network 40. The store terminal 50, the ordering device 10, and the display device 60 are connected, for example, via a wireless LAN or a wired LAN. If the store is a restaurant, the display device 60 can be, for example, a display device installed in the kitchen that displays still images, moving images, etc. The display device 60 may also be a touch panel that combines a display device and a position input device.

[0012] The system 1 also includes a mobile terminal 70 that is carried by the customer and can acquire payment information from the ordering device 10. The mobile terminal 70 is capable of data communication with the order management server 20 and the payment server 30 via the network 40.

[0013] (Ordering Device 10) The ordering device 10 includes a control unit 11 that controls the entire device and a memory unit 12 used to store data, etc. The ordering device 10 also includes an operation display unit 13 that can display operation reception screens and images and accept input operations, and a communication unit 14 such as a communication interface used for communication with the order management server 20 and the payment server 30. The ordering device 10 also includes a printing unit 15 that prints receipts, etc., a code reader 16 that reads barcodes and two-dimensional codes (hereinafter sometimes referred to as "codes"), which are examples of identification information, and a payment terminal 17 that performs payment processing using credit cards and IC cards. Examples of the two-dimensional code include a QR code (registered trademark) and a data matrix. The ordering device 10 also includes a banknote processing unit 18 that performs banknote deposit and withdrawal processing, and a coin processing unit 19 that performs coin deposit and withdrawal processing.

[0014] The memory unit 12 can be exemplified as a storage device such as a semiconductor memory. The memory unit 12 stores information on products and services available at the store. The memory unit 12 also stores address information for the order management server 20 and store identification information for identifying the store. The operation display unit 13 can be exemplified as a touch panel that combines a display device that displays still images, moving images, etc. with a position input device. The code reader 16 reads, for example, a barcode or two-dimensional code displayed on the mobile terminal 70. The payment terminal 17 performs payment processing using a credit card inserted by a customer or an IC card held up by a customer.

[0015] The banknote processing unit 18 has a banknote insertion port 18a through which banknotes are inserted into the ordering device 10, and a banknote ejection port 18b through which banknotes are ejected from the ordering device 10. The coin processing unit 19 has a coin insertion port 19a through which coins are inserted into the ordering device 10, and a coin ejection port 19b through which coins are ejected from the ordering device 10.

[0016] The control unit 11 is composed of a CPU (Central Processing Unit) (not shown), a ROM (Read Only Memory) (not shown), and a RAM (Random Access Memory) (not shown). The ROM stores a basic program (operating system) executed by the CPU, various settings, etc. The CPU uses the RAM as a working area and executes application programs read from the ROM or the storage unit 12.

[0017] The control unit 11 has a receiving unit 111 that receives information from the order management server 20 and the payment server 30, and a transmitting unit 112 that transmits information to the order management server 20 and the payment server 30. The control unit 11 also has a display control unit 113 that controls the operation display unit 13, a receiving unit 114 that receives orders from customers, and a payment processing unit 115 that performs payment processing. The control unit 11 also has a switching unit 116 that switches the mode of the ordering device 10, a generation unit 117 that generates a code, and a determination unit 118 that determines whether code payment has been completed.

[0018] The display control unit 113 displays order buttons for products and services that can be provided at the store on the operation display unit 13. Fig. 1 shows an example in which the display control unit 113 displays, as an example of an order button, a dining button 131 that displays an image of a food or beverage that the restaurant can provide to customers on the operation display unit 13.

[0019] Furthermore, after the order details are decided by pressing the order button, for example, the display control unit 113 displays a payment method selection screen on the operation and display unit 13. For example, the payment method selection screen is displayed so that the customer can select one payment method from cash, credit card, electronic money, and code payment. Furthermore, the display control unit 113 displays the code generated by the generation unit 117 on the operation and display unit 13. Furthermore, when the determination unit 118 determines that code payment has been completed, the display control unit 113 hides the code displayed on the operation and display unit 13.

[0020] When a customer touches an order button displayed on the operation display unit 13, the reception unit 114 receives an order for a product or service related to the order button. For example, when a customer presses the eating and drinking button 131 illustrated in FIG. 1 , the reception unit 114 receives an order for the food or beverage product shown in the image displayed on the eating and drinking button 131.

[0021] When cash is selected as the payment method, the payment processing unit 115 performs payment processing using the banknote handling unit 18 and the coin handling unit 19. When a credit card or electronic money is selected as the payment method and the payment terminal 17 performs payment processing, the payment processing unit 115 transmits information stored in the credit card or IC card obtained from the payment terminal 17 to the payment server 30. When code payment is selected as the payment method, the payment processing unit 115 causes the generation unit 117 to generate a code. When the determination unit 118 determines that a predetermined condition is met, the payment processing unit 115 outputs a command to the display control unit 113 to hide the code displayed on the operation display unit 13.

[0022] The switching unit 116 switches the mode of the ordering device 10 between a normal mode and an abnormal mode. More specifically, the switching unit 116 sets the ordering device 10 to the normal mode when it is possible to perform payment processing via the ordering device 10, such as performing payment processing with the payment terminal 17, and switches the ordering device 10 to the abnormal mode when it is not possible to perform payment processing via the ordering device 10. Examples of cases when it is not possible to perform payment processing via the ordering device 10 include when an abnormality occurs in the payment terminal 17, or when the ordering device 10 and the payment server 30 cannot communicate (for example, when an abnormality occurs in a component that communicates with the payment server 30, or when an abnormality occurs in the payment server 30).

[0023] When the ordering device 10 is in the abnormal mode, the generation unit 117 generates a code including order information and payment information corresponding to the order received by the reception unit 114. The order information includes information on the name of the ordered product, etc., and information on the ordered quantity. The payment information includes information on the price of the order and the store's payment account. The generation unit 117 also generates the code so that it includes address information of the order management server 20 and store identification information that identifies the store.

[0024] On the other hand, when the ordering device 10 is in normal mode and code payment is selected, the generation unit 117 generates a code including payment information corresponding to the order accepted by the acceptance unit 114. Hereinafter, of the codes generated by the generation unit 117, a code including order information and payment information may be referred to as a first code 141, and a code including payment information but not order information may be referred to as a second code 142.

[0025] The determination unit 118 determines that payment is complete when a predetermined condition is met. The predetermined condition can be, for example, at least one of (A) the ordering device 10 receiving information indicating that payment has been completed from the mobile terminal 70, and (B) the customer performing an operation on the ordering device 10 to notify the customer that payment has been completed. An example of (A) is reading predetermined text (e.g., the text "Payment Completed") displayed on the mobile terminal 70 using the code reader 16. An example of (B) is pressing a predetermined operation button (e.g., a button displaying the text "Payment Completed" or "Payment Completed") displayed on the operation and display unit 13 of the ordering device 10. The predetermined condition can also be the passage of a predetermined period of time after the display control unit 113 displays a code on the operation and display unit 13. Alternatively, the ordering device 10 can have a camera that captures images in front of the operation and display unit 13, and the predetermined condition can be the customer who performed the ordering operation of pressing the food and drink button 131 leaving the camera's field of view.

[0026] When the ordering device 10 is in the normal mode, and payment is completed by performing payment processing at the payment terminal 17, the transmission unit 112 transmits order information related to the paid order to the order management server 20. The transmission unit 112 also transmits order information related to the paid order to the store terminal 50.

[0027] (Mobile terminal 70) The mobile terminal 70 includes a control unit 71 that controls the entire device, a memory unit 72 used to store data, etc., an operation display unit 73 that can display an operation reception screen and images and receive input operations from the customer, a communication unit 74 used to communicate with external devices (e.g., the order management server 20, the payment server 30), and a camera 75. Examples of the mobile terminal 70 include a multi-function mobile phone (a so-called "smartphone"), a mobile phone (a so-called "feature phone"), a personal digital assistant (PDA), a tablet terminal, etc.

[0028] The storage unit 72 can be exemplified as a storage device such as a semiconductor memory. The operation display unit 73 can be exemplified as a touch panel that combines a display device that displays still images, moving images, etc. with a position input device. The communication unit 74 can be exemplified as a communication interface. The camera 75 can be exemplified as a digital camera that can take still images or moving images.

[0029] The control unit 71 is composed of a CPU (not shown), a ROM (not shown), and a RAM (not shown). The ROM stores a basic program (operating system) executed by the CPU, various settings, and the like. The CPU uses the RAM as a work area and executes application programs read from the ROM or the storage unit 72. For example, the CPU executes an application program for ordering at a store that is read from the ROM or the storage unit 72.

[0030] The control unit 71 has a receiving unit 711 that receives information transmitted from an external device, a transmitting unit 712 that transmits information to the external device, a display control unit 713 that controls the operation display unit 73, and a payment processing unit 714 that performs payment processing. The control unit 71 also has a function of causing the camera 75 to take an image when a predetermined operation (for example, pressing a predetermined button displayed on the operation display unit 73 or a physical operation button provided on the mobile terminal 70) is performed.

[0031] The payment processing unit 714 transmits payment information (e.g., the price of the order, information on the store's payment account) contained in the code displayed on the ordering device 10 and read by the camera 75 to the payment server 30. The payment processing unit 714 then completes the payment process by receiving a notification from the payment server 30 that the payment has been completed.

[0032] When the payment processing unit 714 completes the payment processing, the display control unit 713 displays a message indicating that the payment has been completed on the operation display unit 73. For example, the display control unit 713 displays the words "Payment Completed" on the operation display unit 73.

[0033] If the code displayed on the ordering device 10 read by the camera 75 contains payment information and order information, and the payment processing unit 714 has completed the payment processing, the transmission unit 712 transmits the order information (information such as the names of the ordered products and the ordered quantity) together with the store identification information to the order management server 20.

[0034] (Order management server 20) The order management server 20 includes a control unit 21 that controls the entire device, a memory unit 22 used to store data, etc., a display unit 23 used to display operation reception screens and images, an operation unit 24 that accepts user input operations, and a communication unit 25 used to communicate with the ordering device 10 and the mobile terminal 70.

[0035] The storage unit 22 can be exemplified by a semiconductor memory, a hard disk drive (HDD), etc. The storage unit 22 stores information on products and services that can be provided at the store, products and services ordered through the ordering device 10, and the number of products and services ordered, in association with store identification information.

[0036] The display unit 23 is a display device that displays still images, moving images, etc. The display unit 23 can be exemplified by a liquid crystal display or an organic EL display. The operation unit 24 is an input device that accepts operations from the user. The operation unit 24 can be exemplified by a button, a switch, or a touch panel. The communication unit 25 can be exemplified by a communication interface.

[0037] The control unit 21 is composed of a CPU (not shown), a ROM (not shown), and a RAM (not shown). The control unit 21 has a receiving unit 211 that receives information from the ordering device 10 and the mobile terminal 70, and a transmitting unit 212 that transmits information to the store terminal 50. The receiving unit 211 receives, from the ordering device 10 and the mobile terminal 70, the names and quantities of products and services ordered via the ordering device 10 installed in the store in association with store identification information, and stores this information in the storage unit 22. The transmitting unit 212 transmits the names and quantities of the ordered products and services received by the receiving unit 211 to the store terminal 50 installed in the store where the order was placed.

[0038] (Store terminal 50) The store terminal 50 includes a control unit 51 that controls the entire device, a memory unit 52 used to store data, etc., a display unit 53 used to display operation reception screens and images, an operation unit 54 that accepts user input operations, and a communication unit 55 used to communicate with the ordering device 10, the order management server 20, and the display device 60.

[0039] The storage unit 52 can be exemplified by a semiconductor memory, a HDD, etc. The storage unit 52 stores the names and the numbers of products and services ordered at the store where the ordering device 10 is installed. The storage unit 52 may also store information on products and services that can be provided at the store where the ordering device 10 is installed.

[0040] The display unit 53 is a display device that displays still images, moving images, etc. The display unit 53 can be exemplified by a liquid crystal display or an organic EL display. The operation unit 54 is an input device that accepts operations from the user. The operation unit 54 can be exemplified by a button, a switch, or a touch panel. The communication unit 55 can be exemplified by a communication interface.

[0041] The control unit 51 is composed of a CPU (not shown), a ROM (not shown), and a RAM (not shown). The control unit 51 has a receiving unit 511 that receives information from the ordering device 10 and the order management server 20, and a transmitting unit 512 that transmits information to the display device 60. The receiving unit 511 receives the names and ordered quantities of products and services ordered via the ordering device 10. The transmitting unit 512 transmits the names and ordered quantities of products and services ordered via the ordering device 10 to the display device 60.

[0042] Examples of the store terminal 50 include a notebook PC, desktop PC, tablet PC, tablet terminal, or personal digital assistant (PDA) that has a POS (Point of Sale) function. The store terminal 50 may be the same device as the order management server 20.

[0043] (Payment server 30) The payment server 30 includes a control unit 31 that controls the entire device, a memory unit 32 used to store data, etc., a display unit 33 used to display an operation reception screen and images, an operation unit 34 that accepts user input operations, and a communication unit 35 that is used to communicate with the ordering device 10 and the mobile terminal 70.

[0044] The storage unit 32 may be, for example, a semiconductor memory, a HDD, etc. The storage unit 32 stores the balance that can be paid using the mobile terminal 70, in association with the identification information of the mobile terminal 70. The display unit 33, the operation unit 34, and the communication unit 35 may be, for example, the same as the display unit 23, the operation unit 24, and the communication unit 25 of the order management server 20, respectively.

[0045] The control unit 31 is configured with a CPU (not shown), a ROM (not shown), and a RAM (not shown). The control unit 31 has a receiving unit 311 that receives information from the ordering device 10 and the mobile terminal 70, a transmitting unit 312 that transmits information to the ordering device 10 and the mobile terminal 70, and a payment processing unit 313 that performs payment processing.

[0046] The receiving unit 311 receives payment information related to code payment from the ordering device 10 and the mobile terminal 70. The payment processing unit 313 stores as a new balance the amount obtained by deducting the amount included in the payment information transmitted from the ordering device 10 or the mobile terminal 70 from the balance stored in the storage unit 32 in association with the identification information of the mobile terminal 70. The payment processing unit 313 also performs processing to pay the amount included in the payment information to the payee account included in the payment information. When the payment processing unit 313 has made a payment, the transmitting unit 312 transmits a notice that the payment has been made to the device or terminal, either the ordering device 10 or the mobile terminal 70, that has sent the payment information.

[0047] The payment server 30 may be composed of multiple servers. For example, the payment server 30 may be composed of a server for code payment, a server for credit cards, etc. Furthermore, in the network 40 that communicatively connects the payment server 30 with the ordering device 10 or the mobile terminal 70, the network that communicatively connects the payment server 30 with the ordering device 10 may be different from the network that communicatively connects the payment server 30 with the mobile terminal 70.

[0048] (Sequence) An example of order processing performed by the system 1 when the ordering device 10 is in normal mode will be described below using a sequence diagram. Fig. 5 is an example of a sequence diagram of order processing performed by the system 1 when the ordering device 10 is in normal mode. Fig. 5 illustrates an example of a sequence when a customer selects code payment.

[0049] The ordering device 10 accepts an order from a customer (S501), and if the customer selects code payment as the payment method, the ordering device 10 generates a code including payment information (S502) and displays the generated code on the operation display unit 13 (S503).

[0050] Thereafter, the customer reads the code displayed on the operation display unit 13 using the camera 75 of the mobile terminal 70 (S504), and performs predetermined operations on the operation display unit 73, such as inputting the payment amount and pressing a predetermined button (for example, a button labeled "Pay"), to request payment (S505), and the payment server 30 then performs the payment processing (S506).

[0051] The payment server 30 then sends a notification to the mobile terminal 70 that the payment process has been completed (S507). When the mobile terminal 70 receives the notification that the payment process has been completed (S508), it displays a message that the payment process has been completed on the operation and display unit 73 (S509). The ordering device 10 obtains information that the payment process has been completed, for example, by reading the message that the payment process has been completed using the code reader 16 (S510). The ordering device 10 then sends order information related to the order for which the payment process has been completed to the order management server 20 (S511). The ordering device 10 also prints a receipt related to the order for which the payment process has been completed, and hides the code displayed on the operation and display unit 13 (S512). The receipt may also display the order number.

[0052] When the order management server 20 receives the order information from the ordering device 10 (S513), it stores the order information and transmits it to the store terminal 50 (S514). When the store terminal 50 receives the order information from the order management server 20 (S515), it stores the order information and displays it on the display device 60.

[0053] 5 illustrates the sequence when code payment is selected by the customer, but if payment by cash, credit card, or electronic money is selected as the payment method, the ordering device 10 performs payment processing instead of S503 to S510, and sends order information for the order for which payment processing has been completed to the order management server 20 (S511). Also, if payment by credit card is selected, the ordering device 10 sends payment information to the payment server 30. Also, the ordering device 10 may send order information for the order for which payment processing has been completed to the order management server 20 and the store terminal 50.

[0054] Next, an example of order processing performed by the system 1 when the ordering device 10 is in abnormal mode will be described using a sequence diagram. Fig. 6 is an example of a sequence diagram of order processing performed by the system 1 when the ordering device 10 is in abnormal mode. In the sequence diagram of Fig. 6, the same processes as those in the sequence diagram shown in Fig. 5 are designated by the same reference numerals, and detailed descriptions thereof will be omitted.

[0055] When the ordering device 10 receives an order from a customer (S501), it cannot process payment via the ordering device 10, so it generates a code including order information and payment information (S602) and displays the generated code on the operation display unit 13 (S603).

[0056] Thereafter, the customer reads the code displayed on the operation display unit 13 using the camera 75 of the mobile terminal 70 (S604), and performs predetermined operations on the operation display unit 73, such as inputting the payment amount and pressing a predetermined button (for example, a button labeled "Pay"), to request payment (S605), and the payment server 30 then performs the payment processing (S606).

[0057] Thereafter, the payment server 30 transmits a notification that the payment process has been completed to the mobile terminal 70 (S607). Upon receiving the notification that the payment process has been completed (S608), the mobile terminal 70 transmits order information relating to the order for which the payment process has been completed to the order management server 20 (S609).

[0058] When the order management server 20 receives the order information from the mobile terminal 70 (S610), it stores the order information and transmits it to the store terminal 50 (S514). When the store terminal 50 receives the order information from the order management server 20 (S515), it stores the order information and displays it on the display device 60.

[0059] The mobile terminal 70 also displays on the operation display unit 73 that the payment process has been completed (S611). The ordering device 10 acquires information that the payment process has been completed (S612). The ordering device 10 then prints a receipt for the order for which the payment process has been completed, and hides the code that was displayed on the operation display unit 13 in S603 (S613).

[0060] Next, an example of the processing performed by the control unit 11 of the ordering device 10 will be described using a flowchart. Fig. 7 is a flowchart showing an example of the processing performed by the control unit 11 of the ordering device 10. The control unit 11 repeatedly executes this processing at predetermined intervals (for example, 1 millisecond).

[0061] The control unit 11 determines whether an order has been accepted by a customer (S701). If an order has not been accepted (NO in S701), the control unit 11 terminates this process. If an order has been accepted (YES in S701), the control unit 11 determines whether the device is in normal mode (S702). If the device is in normal mode (YES in S702), the control unit 11 displays a payment selection screen (S703). Then, the control unit 11 determines whether code payment has been selected (S704).

[0062] If code payment is selected (YES in S704), the control unit 11 generates a code including payment information (S705) and displays the generated code on the operation and display unit 13 (S706). The control unit 11 then determines whether or not information indicating that the payment process has been completed has been acquired (S707). If not (NO in S707), the control unit 11 waits until such information is acquired. If such information is acquired (YES in S707), the control unit 11 sends order information relating to the order for which payment has been completed to the order management server 20 (S708). The control unit 11 also prints a receipt for the order for which payment has been completed, and hides the code displayed on the operation and display unit 13 in S706 (S709).

[0063] On the other hand, if code payment has not been selected (NO in S704), the control unit 11 determines whether the payment process has been completed by a method other than code payment (S710). If the payment process has not been completed (NO in S710), the control unit 11 waits until it is completed. If the payment process has been completed (YES in S710), the control unit 11 performs the processes from S708 onwards.

[0064] On the other hand, if the mode is not normal (NO in S702), the control unit 11 generates a code including the payment information and order information (S711) because the mode is abnormal, and displays the generated code on the operation display unit 13 (S712). Thereafter, the control unit 11 determines whether or not information indicating that the payment process has been completed has been acquired (S713). If not acquired (NO in S713), the control unit 11 waits until such information is acquired. If acquired (YES in S713), the control unit 11 performs the processes from S708 onwards.

[0065] As described above, the system 1 is an ordering system including the ordering device 10 and the mobile terminal 70 that performs payment processing. The ordering device 10 has a reception unit 114 that receives orders for products or services from customers, and an operation display unit 13 (an example of an output unit) that can output (e.g., display) a code including order information and payment information corresponding to the order. The mobile terminal 70 also has a camera 75 (an example of a reading unit) that reads the order information and payment information from the code, and a payment processing unit 714 (an example of a processing unit) that performs payment processing for the order based on the payment information.

[0066] In the system 1 configured as described above, the mobile terminal 70 can process payment for an order based on the payment information output by the ordering device 10, so even if payment cannot be made on the ordering device 10, payment can be made using the mobile terminal 70. As a result, the system 1 can improve customer convenience and prevent a decrease in store sales due to an inability to make payment on the ordering device 10.

[0067] Here, the code displayed on the operation display unit 13 further includes address information of the order management server 20 that manages the order and store identification information that identifies the store, and the camera 75 of the mobile terminal 70 further reads the address information and store identification information from the code. The mobile terminal 70 further includes a transmission unit 712 that associates the paid order information with the store identification information and transmits it to the order management server 20 corresponding to the address information. This allows the order management server 20 to grasp the paid order information even if the paid order information is not transmitted from the ordering device 10. As a result, the store can provide products, etc. to the customer even if payment cannot be made using the ordering device 10.

[0068] The operation display unit 13 displays the code on the display, and the ordering device 10 further includes a determination unit 118 that determines that payment for the order has been completed when a predetermined condition is met, and the operation display unit 13 hides the code displayed on the display when the determination unit 118 determines that payment for the order has been completed (S613). This makes it possible to quickly accept the next customer's order.

[0069] Here, the predetermined condition can be exemplified as including at least one of the following: (A) the ordering device 10 has acquired payment completion information from the mobile terminal 70 (YES in S707), and (B) the customer has performed an operation on the ordering device 10 to notify that payment has been completed (for example, the customer has pressed a predetermined operation button displayed on the operation display unit 13). This makes it possible to know with a high degree of certainty that payment for the order has been completed.

[0070] The ordering device 10 includes a switching unit 116 that switches between an abnormal mode (one line of the first mode) in which the first code 141 including the order information and the payment information is output and a normal mode (one line of the second mode) in which the first code 141 is not output, depending on whether the ordering device 10 is able to perform the payment process. This allows the display control unit 113 to display a code including the order information and the payment information with high accuracy on the operation display unit 13 when the ordering device 10 is in the abnormal mode in which the ordering device 10 is unable to perform the payment process. Note that in the above-described system 1, the switching unit 116 of the control unit 11 switches between the normal mode and the abnormal mode, but this is not particularly limited to this mode. A store clerk may also manually switch the mode.

[0071] When the ordering device 10 is in normal mode, the operation and display unit 13 can display a second code 142 that includes payment information but does not include order information. The camera 75 of the mobile terminal 70 then reads the second code 142 displayed on the operation and display unit 13 to read the payment information, and the payment processing unit 714 performs payment processing based on the payment information. This allows the customer to select code payment when the ordering device 10 is in normal mode. However, it may be possible to prevent code payment from being selected when the ordering device 10 is in normal mode.

[0072] In the above-described system 1, the payment information may not include information about the store's payee account. For example, the mobile terminal 70 may previously store store identification information and payee accounts in association with each other, and identify the payee account based on the store identification information included in the payment information read from the code. Alternatively, the code may include the URL of a website listing the payee account, and the mobile terminal 70 may be prompted to access the website when it reads the code.

[0073] Furthermore, the order information may not include the address information of the order management server 20. For example, the mobile terminal 70 may store in advance the store identification information and the address information of the order management server 20 in association with each other, and identify the address information of the order management server 20 based on the store identification information included in the order information read from the code.

[0074] Furthermore, the ordering device 10 may have the printing unit 15 print the first code 141 and the second code 142 on paper instead of displaying them on the operation display unit 13. In the case where the printing unit 15 prints the first code 141 and the second code 142 on paper, the printing unit 15 functions as an output unit capable of outputting the second code 142 including order information and payment information corresponding to the order.

[0075] Furthermore, the system 1 does not need to include a store terminal 50. When the order management server 20 acquires order information from the ordering device 10 or the mobile terminal 70, the order management server 20 may display the names and quantities of products ordered via the ordering device 10 on the display device 60. Furthermore, the system 1 may not include the display device 60, but may include a printer that outputs paper on which the names and quantities of ordered products are printed.

[0076] The ordering device 10 described above has a reception unit 114 that receives orders for products or services from customers, and an operation display unit 13 (an example of an output unit) that outputs a code including order information and payment information corresponding to the order so that the order information and payment information can be read by a mobile terminal 70 carried by the customer.

[0077] The mobile terminal 70 described above also includes a camera 75 that reads a code including order information and payment information output by the ordering device 10 that accepts orders for products or services from customers, and a payment processing unit 714 that performs payment processing for the order based on the payment information included in the code read by the camera 75. The mobile terminal 70 also includes a transmission unit 712 that associates the paid order information with store identification information and transmits the information to the order management server 20 that corresponds to the address information.

[0078] Furthermore, the ordering method performed by the system 1 described above is an ordering method in which the ordering device 10 accepts an order for a product or service from a customer, outputs a code including order information and payment information corresponding to the order, and the mobile terminal 70 reads the order information and payment information from the code and performs payment processing for the order based on the payment information.

[0079] The ordering method performed by the mobile terminal 70 is an ordering method that reads a code including order information and payment information output by the ordering device 10 that accepts orders for products or services from customers, and performs payment processing for the order based on the payment information included in the read code. Furthermore, the ordering method performed by the mobile terminal 70 associates the paid order information with store identification information and transmits it to the order management server 20 corresponding to the address information. On the other hand, the order receiving method performed by the ordering device 10 accepts an order for a product or service from a customer, and outputs a code including the order information and payment information so that the order information and payment information corresponding to the order can be read by the mobile terminal 70 carried by the customer.

[0080] Furthermore, the processes performed by the ordering device 10, order management server 20, payment server 30, and mobile terminal 70, etc., described above, can be realized by the cooperation of software and hardware resources. In this case, the CPU of the control unit (e.g., control unit 11) of each device (e.g., ordering device 10) executes a program that realizes each function of the device, thereby realizing each function. For example, a non-transitory computer-readable recording medium on which a program is recorded is provided to each device (e.g., ordering device 10), and the CPU of the device (e.g., ordering device 10) reads the program stored in the recording medium. Alternatively, the CPU of the device (e.g., ordering device 10) downloads the program via the network 40. In these cases, the program read from the recording medium or the downloaded program itself realizes the functions of the above-described embodiments, and the program itself and the recording medium on which it is recorded constitute the present invention.

[0081] For example, a program that realizes the functions of the ordering device 10 causes a computer to perform the functions of accepting orders for products or services from customers and outputting a code including the order information and payment information corresponding to the order so that the order information and payment information can be read by a mobile terminal 70 carried by the customer.

[0082] In addition, the program that realizes the functions of the mobile terminal 70 causes the computer to execute the functions of reading a code containing order information and payment information output by the ordering device 10 that accepts orders for products or services from customers, and of processing the payment for the order based on the payment information contained in the read code.

[0083] In the configuration of the above-described embodiment, the store is a restaurant, but the store to which the system 1 is applied is not limited to a restaurant. For example, the store to which the system 1 is applied may be a retail store that sells products other than food or beverages. The store to which the system 1 is applied may also be a store that provides services such as a barber shop or a massage parlor. Alternatively, the system 1 may be applied to facilities such as art galleries, museums, and movie theaters.
