A rope light track system houses a tubular flexible rope light string and can be mounted on or in various interior and exterior structures to protect the light string from damage and provide utilitarian and decorative lighting. The system includes a plurality of elongate rigid or semi-rigid tracks having a longitudinal generally rectangular U-shaped retention channel with an open end defined by laterally opposed side walls adjoined at one end by a transverse base wall and at least one retainer element near the open end. The tracks have side portions or a mounting flange portion extending outwardly from the retention channel to accommodate various mounting configurations. An elongate tubular flexible rope lighting string is removably mounted in the retention channel and retained therein to prevent accidental removal, and is disposed below the channel open end to protect it from being damaged and allow light emanating therefrom to be directed out of the channel open end. Various control devices control the illuminating operation of the rope light string.

A clip for holding decorative lights has a clamp portion and a light holding portion connected by a bridge. A programmable light rope system is a wirelessly operated rope light assembly having an LED rope light with a programmable light controller, a transmitter, a receiver, and a remote controller. The light rope is constructed with color chambers that are formed by the space between LEDs. A method of producing a light-emitting-diode (LED) rope light includes the steps of preparing a plurality of light seats defining a recess therein and a plurality of metal wires having two conductive plates connected to two ends thereof; positioning two conductive plates from two different metal wires in each light seat; forming the light seats into light-emitting diodes; serially connecting the light seats to provide an LED light string; positioning the LED light string into a hollow power cord holder with two electrodes of the LED light string connected to two power cords embedded in the power cord holder; and quickly enclosing said power cord holder with a transparent outer tube by way of injection molding to form an LED rope light.

A method for producing an LED rope light mainly includes the steps of providing first and second protrusions on two conductive terminals of each metal wire to distinctively indicate positive and negative polarities thereof; serially connecting a plurality of LED lamps to form an LED light string; associating the LED light string with a power cord holder; and positioning the power cord holder with the LED light string in an outer tube having a corrugated inner wall surface. When the LED light string is supplied with power, light emitted from the LED lamps is refracted by the corrugated inner wall surface of the outer tube to provided expanded illuminating areas and softened light.

The at least one aperture may be elongated to define a channel. The at least one light source is a bulb, a light, a lamp, a light-emitting diode, or rope lighting.
