Abstract

The invention relates to a method for user-defined character font which is applicable to an embedded system. The method comprises the following steps: 1) providing a character picture; 2) resolving the document name of the character picture, obtaining a character code corresponding to the character picture and reading the document data of the character picture; 3) packaging the character picture into a character font document and recording the character code and document data on the index of the character font document; and 4) retrieving the index of the character font document according to the character code to be displayed when users select character font; if the retrievals are matched, obtaining the character picture corresponding to the character code to be displayed from the characterfont document to display. The method in the invention can lower the complexity of the user-defined character font, remove much redundant information, avoid unnecessary filter and resolution processing and prevent frequent image resource load, thus improving the displaying speed of the character font.
